Dual-frequency GPS? - LG V60 ThinQ Questions & Answers

Please, could someone test if the V60 actually supports dual-frequency GPS? SD 865 does support it, but it is not listed anywhere in the phone specs. Easy way to test it is to install GPSTest app (the one by barbeauDEV, not the other), go outside with GPS on and see if it detects any L5 or E5 signals (some others exist as well) in addition to L1 and E1 signals in the CF column, and please also post a screenshot of what your device shows.
I would post a sample screenshot but as a new user I'm apparently not allowed to do so. Anyway you can find sample screenshots by googling images for "dual-frequency gpstest" for example.
Thank you so much!

My phone hasn't been delivered yet, but dual frequency definitely interests me. If you don't get an answer before then I will test mine.

Hope that helps.

will do dual freq, but no Galileo GPS satellites for some reason. first pic is from the v60, the second is from a Xperia 1. V60 spec sheet says id does do them so figuring t-mobile turned them off for some reason.

Found this.
The European Union can't shut up about its own Galileo system, going to great lengths to extol its virtues with fun little promos like the video below. According to the creator of the GPSTest app Dr. Barbeau, however, in the US there will be no European satellites listed, even if the chipset supports multi-GNSS constellations and can take in Galileo signals, like the 855.
"This is because the US Federal Communication Commission (FCC) must first approve Galileo before any devices can use its signals on US soil," says the European Global Navigation Satellite Systems Agency.

little late with that one, my xperia 1 which I bought from Sony direct has galileo enabled on it. And I have seen the satellites on a pixel 2xl and 3axl. FCC approved the GPS in late 2018.

Thanks for that. So do you think LG just disabled it?

Thank you all so much! Being in Europe I hope Galileo will be available here. Wondering if V60 still supports dual-freq for Galileo satellites. If anyone has an European version (is it even available yet anywhere in Europe?), please post some screenshots!
Completely another thing is that this phone apparently won't be available here in Finland. May have to settle for ordering it from some other country..

On Verizon, (if that matters) I have L1, L5, E1, E5a.

Dual-SIM Simultaneous 4G/3G Capable Phones...

Hi, just to share results of my research on dual-SIM, simultaneous 4G/3G capable phones.
Do note that there are confusing and ofttimes purposely misleading terms; there are differences between:
the use of FDD-LTE vs. TD-LTE (sometimes misleadingly referred to as "dual LTE")
the ability to switch the "primary SIM/slot" (which has LTE/4G+/4G/3.5G/3G capabilities) with the second/secondary slot without physically swapping the SIM cards (refer to misleading/misinformed information within the OneNote notebook as linked, from no less than one of Singapore's leading telcos)
the ability to simultaneously maintain a 4G/3G connection on both SIMs
Before we start seeing responses in this thread from people asking:
why would you need 2nd SIM to be on 3G at the same time?
simply because there are countries that:
will be shutting down their 2G networks (e.g. US, AU, SG)
have service providers that do not run 2G (i.e. GSM) networks at all (e.g. CA, JP, KR)
why would you need two data connections?
There is a difference between: data connections and voice connections over 3G; if your phone is currently on LTE/4G+/4G and both your handset or your service provider/current service cell tower is not VOLTE-capable, make a phone call and you will note the connection "drops" to 3G (voice).
(caveat: there may be some people that want dual/separate data paths for different apps, but I believe those to be in the minority and not the target/purpose of my research)
The "crop" of "current" generation dual-SIM capable phones in wide-spread markets from the "big guns" (e.g. LG G5, Samsung Galaxy S7 and A 2016-series) cover points #1 and #2, but fail on point #3.
Legend:
highlighted in green background: arguably best in class
highlighted in red background with white text: arguably worst in class (or does not meet the needs of this article; i.e. "4G + 2G only")
red text: warning/of detrimental note
"question marked": unsure/unchecked
For the bands and the countries, that is for my internal reference only, covering most of the countries of my concern; please use that as a guide; I will not entertain requests to add more countries (as it will be a herculean/endless task).
Do note the table is incomplete (those with question marks); particularly I stopped bothering about other aspects if I confirmed it was not simultaneous 4G/3G capable. If you know of any other simultaneous 4G/3G-capable phones, please let me know to add them, but please stick to "current" phones (i.e. announced/released from 2015 or preferably mid-2015 onwards) and please also provide at least two other "official" references confirming said capability (and please do not use two "sources" that circularly-reference each other or the same "source").
NOTE: I have not stated nor verified VOLTE, either on SIM #1 or switchable primary, which is another point of interest for me; if you have any information, please let me know as well.
Thanks!
P.S.: Whereas I have seen quite a few direct edits, corrections and contributions, someone (eventually) deleted the entire page. It has been restored but made read-only for now; please PM me and I will provide an editable link.
Meanwhile, until someone else finds a better way, or I find the 2+ hours needed to properly tabulate it (i.e. put it into an easier-to-read table), consider this version "stale" from herein.

Yes, as of current, my research shows exactly that. For the record, I have personally tested the S7/Edge, Z5 Premium Dual and G5, and now own two Mi 5 Pros... The Mi 5 Pros work beautifully, except for:
irritating CN bloatware (and Mi App Store stubbornly sticking to showing CN instead of EN despite language settings)
Xiaomi's framework overriding and interfering with standard Google framework (in the name of their "optimisation", which I have turned off with little detrimental effect overall)
stupid, self-serving "official" forum (en.miui.com; but that is a rant for another thread in another sub-forum)
I will leave my "user's review" for a separate post in a separate thread in the correct sub-forum another time...

I will try to clean it up and also update it... I will try to keep it updated as long as it remains relevant (i.e. when most leading phones are still claiming dual-SIM capabilities but remain 4G+2G only)...
To be added: the Xiaomi Mi Max and the "new" Sony X and XA series (which appears to be near launch here in SG)...

I suppose phones being released after the mi5 in China could all copy this 4g/3g capable tech.
We might see a number of choices later this year, Q3 or Q4.
There is no news with further release of a true dual 4G or 3G phone, probably too costly and a power drain.

Not sure if the Mi 5 counts as a "true" dual 4G/3G phone - that depends on your definition of "true". However, as mentioned above, I may confirm that the Chinese Mi 5 supports both SIMs to be on a LTE + 3G network.
I can confirm that the Sony Xperia Z3 Dual D6633 only supports 4G + 2G as I own this phone.
Sony Xperia X Performance supports 4G+3G, I can confirm this.
The OnePlus 3 has been confirmed by user reports to support 3G on the secondary SIM slot as well.

majority of the dual sim supports 4g and 3g in sim 1and 2, but does it support 4G in sim 1 and 3G in sim 2 simultaneous.
Yes, that is what I'm talking about. You can have the OnePlus 3's primary SIM card registered on a 4G or 3G network while the secondary SIM will still register on 3G simultaneously. Let's call this dual-3G capability.
Any Confirmation that the Mi Max supports 4G/3G like the mi5 does? Or is it like the Redmi note 3 pro 4G / 2G combo?
There's a discussion in another forum at hardwarezone, but I'm not yet allowed to post links.
What I can read out, the capability is requires both hardware, i.e. Qualcomm Snapdragon 820/823 Qualcomm Snapdragon 617/625/650/652, as well as software.
The following should according to the link above, support one sim card on 3g/4g (voice/data) and the other sim card (2g?)/3g (voice only) simultaneously.
Of course only counting the dual sim versions.
LeTV LeEco Le Max 2 (Qualcomm Snapdragon 820)
Oneplus Three (Qualcomm Snapdragon 820) - confirmed
Sony Xperia X Performance (Qualcomm Snapdragon 820)
Xiaomi Mi5 (Qualcomm Snapdragon 820) - confirmed
Xiaomi Mi Max (Qualcomm Snapdragon 650)
Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Pro (Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 Snapdragon) (un-officially - Need to un-lock and flash modifed rom)
Zenfone 3 (Qualcomm Snapdragon 625) link in hardwarezone thread
Zenfone 3 Ultra (Qualcom Snapdragon 652) link in hardwarezone thread
ZUK Z2 pro (Qualcomm Snapdragon 820)
In another link I can read confirmation at a conference of:
Moto G4 (Qualcomm Snapdragon 617)
Moto G4 Plus (Qualcomm Snapdragon 617)

Xperia X Performance is not 3G/Dual capable
This page on Sony's website http://support.sonymobile.com/global-en/xperiaxperformancedual/userguide/Selecting-mobile-networks/ list these valid configurations:
One LTE network and one GSM network
One WCDMA network and one GSM network
Two GSM networks
Obviously no good for those of us seeking to use in 3G only locations...

Thanks, but this is in conflict with what @kms108 a few posts before (and considering that is from an owner, I am inclined to believe that person, although I am still waiting for hard(er) proof). However, it may be true in your neck of the woods if the secondary radio does not support the LTE or 3G bands there. (is NZ any different from AU for radio bands?)

No worries... the link is from the global Sony support site so I don't think it's NZ specific - and as most of our phones are AU market devices anyway it shouldn't be related to band support... The fact that Sony has taken the trouble to publish this info suggests that it's likely to be accurate, however it wouldn't be the first time an OEM's support site has published misleading information.

It's not possible to post screen shots, there is no way to show any indication for the dual 3G or 4G+3G simultaneously on the same screen shot, you just have to take my word for it.
dual 4G(LTE) is not possible, if this is selected a pop put will state LTE is only selectable for one sim card socket only.

That being said.
As I don't have a 4G sim, I have set both sim in settings for WCDMA only and I can make or receiver calls from either sim, from a friend it has also been confirmed working in japan where 2G (GSM) doesn't exist, that sim 1 is used for calls and sim 2 used for data, at the same time the V10 was also used in Japan, where sim 1 is usable, and sim 2 does not receive any signal, as the V10 is only 4G or 3G+2G.
The phone is the Hong Kong Version XP (F8132), do note the Xperia X and Xperia XA (Ultra) does not support this feature.
Update, I also think the Samsung Note 7 also supports the same feature, but can't confirm exactly if this is correct.

Lg G5 Galileo GNSS Localization

This device supports Galileo the new European global navigation satellite system??
Seems Snapdragon 820 supports Galileo, and It has been activated in December 2016, Galileo signals doesn't require different GPS antenna. Maybe It requires some updated gps config, I cannot see its satellites in popular GPS Apps.
Is anyone informed about this matter?
as i know, G5 is NOT able to receive Galileo signal until now.
Try this app to check -> https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.android.gpstest

Device specification in this website cannot report GALILEO support in any case since are relative to official specs at the launch of the terminal, and GALILEO was activated in December 2016 and supported in Nougat.
For example in my older Optimus smartphone in official specs is reported only GPS but with a simple update it can fix now both Glonass and Beidou.
anyway, with rom 20d and the recommanded app from above, i can’t see Calileo!

same here,
for this reason I'm looking for some way to enable the support
as i have read, the 820 cpu has a "modem" that was able to be updated by manufacturer (snapdragon)
But i don’t know a way to do that.

Things that could prevent you from buying view10!

As regular XDA folks, many knew the tight bond between Honor and XDA. While that's great for the development of a device, there are somethings that got compromised in view10 hence I couldn't go for it. Most probably you'd also need to skip for some of the reasons!
USB v2!!! (Come on Honor, This is 2018)
Mono cam as 2nd lens (Though honor claims it enhancing Pic, we see Mate 10 doesn't have Mono sensor nor OP3 with single cam+HDR+ captures stunning pics)
LCD (This is not a bumper for all, but I felt just like many other LCDs minimum brightness device can go to is bit bright and hurt my eyes during Night dark scenes. AMOLED is welcome)
Flagship coming with Bluetooth v4.2 in 2018?
No clarification of LTE+ (In India hardly manufactures reach out to consumers. I love the way Honor does it via XDA. But I posted this question https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=75249748&postcount=97 and https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=75234210&postcount=1081 and am still confused if it supports CA or not! For Indian band answer is nowhere available http://www.huawei.com/en/news/2017/9/Huawei-Kirin970-Rohde-Schwarz Still no answers after a week! )
Camera hump ( Not a big deal for me anyway)
Long term software support (Honor seems to give only 1 year of software OS/sec. patch support)
[*]No ROMs available so far
[*]Unavailability of AOSP ROM and Honor trying to force EMUI (At XDA everyone loves features on top of AOSP. But Honor seems to welcome dev without sharing vanilla AOSP sources on top of which EMUI is built. I'd love to see fully functional AOSP in EMUI. While Thanks to Treble,Thats been worked out, if Honor hellps devs out that would mean much dev-friendly device and also comeup ROMs in https://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-view-10/development ) Calling big boys to party with free phones hopefully ensures this https://www.xda-developers.com/honor-announces-developers-honor-view-10-recipients/
Few other points I missed.,
@ermacwins No EIS or OIS
No one universal model (v10 has Region specific models, Check https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=75394470&postcount=19)
I hope to get some answers @[email protected]_USA @DrGreenway
Thus with this list is the max no cons one can come up with. If none of this feels like Con then not even Oneplus has a better device at this price point for this. Hope Honor takes these Inputs to make me their future iterations..!
"No ROMs available so far"
Phh-Treble boots. So does Uber too, but we're rebasing on CAF. Until I see sources from Honor, I and other developers can't do much, but at least they are trying
"USB V2"
It is type C, and it's pretty fast. I don't see the problem here.
Regarding the mono camera lense... Is that even a con? It's pretty damn good. Took some 20mp shots the other day when I went to the hospital and they are beautiful.
And not providing an AOSP based ROM is distant. Would I prefer it? Yes. But the only three OEMs I've seen doing this are Sony, OnePlus, and Google (obviously). Their AI wouldn't be as prominent either. I sort of get what you're saying though. Nothing a custom ROM can't fix
BUT. None of those issues are actual problems for me. I have a really hard time critiquing the device. Only thing I wish it had is waterproofing and US bands.... Best device I've ever had to date.

Yeah thats exactly my point. I'm great that devs are working for Treble but unless OEMs like Huawei help with some AOSP blobs/sources its difficult. Also, phone is supposed to get its software support die pretty soon (like in a year, which is unreasonable for a flagship grade phone)
Also, I use Samsung T3 pocket SSD, which connect via USB-C. Most of laptops also connect like that. Why should I compromise with terrible speeds of 34MBps max when my Phone has UFS storage of 200MBps and SSD more than that, due to decade old USB version? USB-C is just a socket, Bus version matters.
Camera, As you agreed pics are good using a single lens. 2nd cam in the phone seems a total waste of space, wherein If Wide-angle lens has gone in it would have been much useful!
About AOSP while others are doing it, for software development that's critical. Else no one dev will hope into dev. You have N no. of phones, Samsung/LG/etc devices where hardly any ROM will be developed expect stock. I'm hoping this phone with such great hardware shouldn't go through that same thing. For AI and stuffs all those can be part of /vender so that /system can seemlessly evolve...
Waterproof and US Bands are good points, what I am emphasizing is Honor seems like they're imitating OnePlus to give better device and I am justifying that they still don't listen to hardcore android freaks despite they pertain to that...

Having a ROM closer to AOSP wouldn't help development at all sadly. You could put Hello Kitty ROM on the thing and there's no determent or aid for developers.
I'm aware that type C is a socket. I'm getting speeds higher than v2 though. I don't use it enough outside of fastboot to really care.
We will be getting sources for the thing pretty soon actually. As far as what we get, it's up to us developers to push for it. They've contacted a few of us directly to reinforce what we need.
Lack of carrier aggregation is the only reason stopping me to buy Honor View 10. I tried to find the info everywhere even Honor India support is clueless if CA is available in this device
No EIS or OIS is definitely a con
no image stabilization and at least for now a lack of root.

It does have US bands. It supports I believe 4 LTE bands on ATT which is who I have its just that you'll have to call their device management department to get the correct APN settings to get any data. I also have had to resort to using allo to send and receive MMS.
It supports only one band I think of t-mobile but you still can get 2 or 3g speeds.

Yeah. I know. But right now I pay $20 a month to TM for unlimited data with our plan. To pay AT&T $80 a month doesn't make sense to me. It would literally be cheaper to go with a Pixel 2 XL with everything maxed out at that point through the Google store if it's looked at that way. Nonetheless though, I love the phone.

5 of us share a plan. My brother, my sister in law, her mother, her cousin, and me. 10gb with turnover into the following month... So kind of unlimited. I don't ever usually pass 4gb lol. Data saver and everything are always enabled and I don't stream crap except for music through Spotify on the bus and when I walk.
I'm going to see if someone couldn't upload the US firmware so I can see whether or not it is a hard block. If it is, I may just forget it and get a Pixel 2 XL and put monthly payments down for that. It would be disappointing but there isn't much I can do

At this point, the V10 for the US/North America is vaporware. It was supposed to have launched on 8 January along side the International and Indian versions. That was the statement made at the 5 December London event. Then the V10 page disappeared from Honor's US website and suddenly the US/North American version launch date and price weren't going to be made available. Very recently, the V10 page reloaded on Honor's US site, but it doesn't contain any specs about the 4G FDD bands that will be supported. It should be more than AT&T's bands since it should be able to support Canada (Mexico pretty much uses AT&T bands)--T Mobile's established FDD bands should be supported, but Samsung will probably remain the only brand including radios for T Mobile's new spectrum in phones this year. Honor needs to post all the 4G FDD bands in the specs, it's not acceptable to only say FDD--that gives absolutely no information on carrier support.
I checked I had T-Mobile and at least the international one only supports 2 or 3g with them. It supports all of their noon or most of their non LTE bands but only one of the LTE which means no LTE. I finally got everything working on att including MMS. just took a few days att recognized the device as essentially a flip phone and only capable of 2g. After talking to the a few times they simply changed some settings on their end and I'm more than happy with it. I wouldn't even wait for the US version assuming it ever comes.

The US/North American V10 hasn't been released, no release date or pricing information has been announced. Everything was pushed back from a stated 8 January launch without explanation. It looks like the earliest that they may begin shipping the US/North American version is Q2--we're almost to February. If it doesn't ship by Q2, then I wouldn't expect to see a US/ North American version at all.

The vast majority of AT&T's LTE markets still primarily use FDD Band 17, which isn't supported by the International version. You're fortunate that you're in a metropolitan area that supports a lesser used band that's included in the International version. My region and my roaming areas are all FDD Band 17 only. You may have issues when you have to roam in other areas of the US.

There's only one AT&T 4G FDD band supported by the International version of the V10--FDD Band 5, which isn't supported on the vast majority of AT&T's LTE network. Keep your eye on the network status of your phone. You may find as you travel around your city that you fall back to 3G data at times as many towers in metro areas that have some support for FDD Bands 2,4 or 5 remain FDD Band 17 only. Here's a list of US/Canadian carrier cellular bands. https://www.signalbooster.com/pages/what-are-the-cellular-frequencies-of-cell-phone-carriers-in-usa-canada

I've been I'm Dallas, Arlington and fort Worth and cities in between and never dropped below hspa+. It also supports band 2,4,12 and 17 which are all LTE. The only issue I had was that because the phone is unrecognized it was automatically put in as a 2g device. I've traveled 60 some miles in a few directions each and almost always had LTE. It was partially trying to get the correct settings on the phone and then on their end.

The International/Global version of the V10 supports 4G FDD bands 1/3/5/8/38/39/41. https://www.frequencycheck.com/models/ARa6n/huawei-honor-view-10-global-dual-sim-td-lte-bkl-l09-128gb You are falling off LTE because only FDD band 5 is supported by AT&T, and then only in some metropolitan areas, and then only in areas of those cities with congestion issues. (Technically, HSPA+ is 3G, granted souped up 3G speeds but not with data rates as high as 4G.)

Even I'm still clueless despite me asking in various threads, no honor guys have data. I am sure in Indian market its already selling in big nos. No answer usually means no native CA support on 3/5/40 bands!
Thanks for your region specific inputs on LTE @mke1973 @whymista @CertifiedBlyndGuy
This is actually a huge issue, just like OP3 got LTE+ CA support in US/EU bands it never got CA on 3/5/40 Indian bands despite selling in huge no. Having such region-specific models hampers long-term dev, which Honor should workaround with better designed universal bands-supported phones like MI MIX2.

It's not vaporware if it's already been released somewhere -- that refers to prototype hardware/software that never sees the light of day. Anyways, what I read from the official statement was that the "International" release (UK, Germany, France, Italy, Spain and India) was January 8th, with the US launch to be announced at a later time. I think some people saw "international" and immediately thought it included the US.

NFC does not work

I bought xperia z5 compact from ebay. I am in Egypt it has lollipop and does not give me update notification. In addition, nfc does not work. When I turn it on it returns off by itself. Please help.
If you are using Windows, download and install the FlashTool (klick) and after that klick on the XPeriFirm (XP) button. There you select your device, country, provider etc. and download the latest firmware. After that you can install it directly.

I downloaded and installed it but when I launch the application and connect the phone to the computer it does not give me any information. So, what is wrong?only written connect a phone or an accessory and on the left inactive words(in grey ) like connected item:, soft ware: and so om.
It's not that easy!
Install FlashTool.
You have to set your windows computer to a mode where it does accept unsigned drivers. Please search the internet how to do that.
You have to install the drivers that are residing in a subdirectory named "drivers" of the FlashTool directory.
You need fastboot, the next one (name forgotten) and sony z5 compact drivers (I hope, I remember the names correctly)
Start FlashTool.
Click on the XP button.
Now XPeriFirm should start. If not, there is no way to get the firmware this way.
Maybe you can download XPeriFirm manually, but that hasn't worked here.
If you do not know what you are doing, you should consult the internet for further answers.
I haven't used FlashTool since a very long time.
So I can't say if it is still working as expected.
Edit:
You have to download XPeriFirm from here.
Expand the zip file and copy the file "XperiFirm-x64.exe" (or "XperiFirm-x86.exe", if you are working in a 32 bit environment) as "XperiFirm.exe" to the folder <users>/<your_user_name>/.flashTool
Then the XF button in FlashTool is working (see attached pictures)

LTE will work.... but not 800MHz LTE Band 20. Instead, there is LTE Band 19, which is used only in Japan. LTE 1800MHz band 3 , 2100MHz Band 1 or 2600MHz Band 7 will work. Problem is signal outer the Cities.... in the Villages, operators use only 800MHz LTE there.... better area 4 signal distribution than 1800 and 2100MHz.
So you will have signal in the city.... but maybe nothing at a cottage... or you will loose signal on the road.
you can check this Czech program, at googleplay, yes it´s Czech made free and perfect- no ads, and you see in the log or real-time where are you are or have been connected.... frequencies and lots of datas.... i love this programme. I am not sure if it woks abroad.... but it should.... or try some simmilar program.

NFCs antennas are not included, in japanese models, they were not-available, and I think in some pieces they are added....but they still will not work, because some restriction still is there in Cracked-rooted Firmware E5823 something japanese is still there So no if you want NFC, LTE 800.... buy used Z5 compact from original distribution. I have 3 new pieces now like a new, I have refubrished them by myself.... Like a new Original Sony LCDs original sony batteries, original IMEI motherboards, original sony case interior. Just perfect. Mine hobby.
I would like to use NFC for opening doors in the garage instead of chip on the keys.... it should work, but don´t know "how to."... maybe it is possible If i want to take money from ATM, there is NFC lock on doors, if i acivate NFC, it opens the doors it is good But how to open doors with NFC in da house....
I must ask somebody if it is possible.... I like openning the doors with NFC I dont use it for payment, but for opening the doors
I have lost the keys one day in a car, and doors locked.... 2:00 AM WTF! I had to get out of the garrage and knocked on someones window 2:00 AM freezing..... please help me This NFC unlocking should be very very good in this situation. I had to little crash the doors to get to the garrage and mine keys
I dont know if NFC or some programme can copy datas from key chip..... maybe YES?
It would be great.....NFC chip clone.... hmmmmm

Hello, fingerprint we have from the beginning since 2015 in EU I don´t understand why in US it was not available.... My brain doesnot takes it maybe mafia cutting fingers in US italian style... but models sold in Italy are with finger print sensor I am sure... Maybe some one from Sony in Japan knows, why US don´t have fingerprint sensors activated... or why they are deactivated
I have 3 white like a new, now i want to rebuild 4.th piece.... No black. Only Whites, because black doesnot matter only white are perfect.... Im joking....but yes only white packs are original SONY. Blacks are copies.
frames complete with lcd and glass by SONY, so i dont need to be ****ed with glue problem. There are only white megapacks available in EU- frame+ lcd + screen glued from Sony. And sorry it is not possible to send it to USA,
duties and taxes are BIG comedy in EU....

Open back doors.... easily... watch back side..... both hands ready and right hand push front frame, left hand push backwards..frame.. push... and use nail or something... when you see space, i start near camera---- guitar pick and open the phone from back.... glue will work after... no problem.... if you make it clever.... pop it up... and there must be NFC antenna on batery.... sticked.... if not, you dont have NFC
toothpick also works fine when you want to enter Z5c from behind bambooo quality toothpick-not copies easy rotate... with toothpick down .... and it will open if there is not NFC antenna, you can be sure, you are not first who opened this phone A: it is SO-02H cracked to E5823 so without NFC, or B: someone stole it whed changed batery.... and destroyed it
I know it is difficult to remove NFC antenna for the first time. when you want get to the motherboard and everything...... you will destroy it.... I know... it si not easy for first time to pop it off.... I have destroyed one- .... but I know.... Now i Know....needle you need to take NFC off the batery, but you must be very very carefull
If you disassamble NFC.... okey you can reassamble Z5 compact complete... disassamble NFC is first difficult step, and not easy.
I am sure, you don´t have NFC upon batery.... it is missing.... so that´s what I think.... software says you have, real hardware check says no you dont have NFC man

Question 5G connectivity in non supported countries

Hi to all,
Well I bought the new pix6 just to find out that the connectivity to 5G network's is limited to supported counters end not to other countries beside the selected few.
Is there a way to enable 5G while keeping the phone unrooted? Coming from a M11i that in my area has 600-700Mbit/s coverage to the supposed king of Android that has barley 80Mbit/s is just disappointing. I'm in Croatia and the 5G here is in every activated in every single plan.
Thanks in advance.
Regards Goran
Ask your carrier to support the Pixel 6.
There is no way to enable it even with root unfortunately. Google locked it and they will not unlock it.

Do you have a link to support your statement?
Look at this:

Check your 5G availability

If you choose other as country you see this:
At this time, unlisted countries have no selected 5G carrier networks that work with Pixel phones.
There also quite a lot of topics in the pixel community like this one discussing the problem:

Thanks for your reply.
But I do not see anything about Google being at fault.
I am just assuming that it is the government and carriers fault of said countries.
Well if the 5G phones of every other big android manufacturer like samsung, xiaomi, oneplus, motorola and so on are working great almost everywhere and pixels only work in select countries for me it is pretty clear who is to blame. In addition to that the modem inside is the same samsung modem used in the samsung s20 series and it clearly supports needed bands to work in much more than 13 countries in whole world. There are enough operators in europe present in several countries and using same equipment and bands in these like A1, T-mobile, Vodafone, Orange and so on. If it is operator's fault what is the logic phone to work from one side of the border and not from the other? To sum it up - if anything works in 100 countries and do not work in 10 you should check these 10 countries. If anything works in 10 countries and does not work in 100 it is device problem. I have not seen a single report from person in unsupported country who managed to activate 5G.
To add some history - older google 5G phones behave the same way. They are locked to support 5G in only certain countries. In these models though this is done via simple configuration files which can be edited if you have root. After that 5G works flawlessly in every country. Unfortunately for pixel 6 this does not work.

take a look on Pixel5GBounty Telegram group, we're collecting money for anyone who would unlock 5G wherever the modem supports it. $290 for now
why is it that not even custom ROMs can't get the 5G working on "non-supported" carriers? Is it somewhere in the kernel? or what am I missing here? I'm android noob, so sorry if this is obvious... Thank you
I asked my provider about this 5g, and they told me that it's not the phone, but the provider that blocks the 5g connection.
My provider is fastweb, they also use windtre network in some areas. I have a 5g included plan, but I cannot have 5g connection.
They told me that there is a list of compatible devices, and this list is different from provider to provider. Simply, Fastweb has no intention to enable 5g on google pixel devices.
TIM is giving 5g to whatever device, but just for a short period of time (to sponsor their 5g network, I suppose).
Vodafone list of compatible devices is different from fastweb.
Iliad, also has a different list of compatible devices (Iliad gives 5g to pixel5)
So, no reason to blame on google...
well, I'm from Czech Republic, and I have Vodafone... Went to ask them about this issue, they told me they don't block 5G on any device, so if I have new enough SIM (I have e-SIM, so don't have to worry about that), the 5G should work, if the device supports it. Now since Pixel isn't officially available in Czech Republic, it's not working...
Getting 5G working on my Pixel would be good enough reason for me to start rooting and checking other ROMs again (last Android I rooted was I think KitKat ).

Same issue with T-mobile CZ. Said me that this is the problem of google, VoLTE working, nothing else. Have to say this is my last google phone.
It's very obvious google is whitelisting the carriers that they allow 5G access.
Pixel 6's 5G is unavailable on my carrier but it works with Google Fi sim roaming.
VoLTE is also disabled here. But I managed to just turn the switch on with root and it just works (with some extra battery drain)
And No. There's no way to unlock 5G on blocked carriers yet. Might be available in future if the bounty succeeds.
I contacted Google Support about one of the 5H networks in Ireland not being supported & they said they only support the networks listed here - https://pixel.withgoogle.com/5G/
Nothing that the network provider can fix. The support person told me to send feedback from the phone requesting support for the missing network which I do every week although I suspect I'm wasting my time.
There's also a very long thread on the Google support forum here.
Well, I've rooted mine and I'm squeezing the **** out of him right now, little rusty since I've done nothing for few years now ...but did find some articles about restricting and un restricting 5G inside Android 12 (https://developer.android.com/refer...rierConfigManager#CARRIER_NR_AVAILABILITY_NSA.) and related sub articles.
Worst case scenario it will finish in the garage, as for now garage it is.

Google does not care if you buy from them. The Pixel 6 is not sold in your country anyway.
It is your government and carrier that is at fault. Your rules and laws are stopping Google from selling in your region.

Could you give some evidence for that?

Here in the US, the FCC dictates if an electronic product can be sold.
Google is in the business to make money, they are not selling you there product for spite is Ludacris to think so.
