I don't think it's the phone's responsibility. If your earbuds cannot send skip track signal, then you won't be able to do it no matter how you hack your phone, except perhaps overriding pause/play signal, which means you won't be able to pause/play anymore.

You should try to double tap on play/pause buton for skip track. Work with some headphone.

[Q] Bluetooth headset and music controlls

Hi,
Does anyone know how to enable the change track buttons?! I´m using a Jabra BT3030 and it´s working fine to adjust volume in spotify but i cannot change track...
I'm using Sennheiser bluetooth headphones and didn't change any setting to be able to change track, worked out of the box, but with the default player. I know that doesn't help you a lot; does your Jabra work ok with other devices; possibly it's a Spotify problem?

Yes, i was anle to do it on iPhone and android without any problems. But i found the issue now. I´m able to change track in the built in music app but not in Spotify...so it´s a spotify issue.
As for cabled headphones, what about pressing play button twice or three times? (twice makes it next track, three times makes it previous one). If this works it might be that WP doesn't recognize the other buttons on your headset. I'm just improvising, as a matter of fact I don't know anything about this stuff.

Actually that works with cabled...will test this later with my Jabra headset...but it´s kinda anoying that i cannot use the forward and back button on the headset when using spotify. It works in the built in app so i´m sure Spotify will sort it out in future updates.

Get more from your Xperia S Headset MH-650

Hi all,
I am using MH 650 Headset supplied with SXS, while using found some useful tricks not sure if they are already known but still thought i can post and can be useful for few.
1. Press the call handling key to start and stop music player (May be at first you have to use press long hold) works even if Live Ware is not setup.
2. Quickly press the call handling key twice to move to next track.
3. Quickly prss the call handing key thrice to move to previous track.
Hope this will help the music lovers who needs to suffle between tracks often without unlocking or touching the phone. Haven't yet tried for FM radio options.

[Q] Headset control button

Hi there,
Has any else had the problem with last number or missed call being dialed when you use the control button with the one x+
Only when listening to music with headphones
Still change even with The update..
Yes, wanted to ask the same
Using PowerAmp: one click start/stops, double click dials last call, long click open Google Now... Could not figure out how to change track until now :crying:

I'm using power amp pro but still no change, if I click next track on headphones I dial the last number in my call history,
I'm using Tiny call confirm App, this blocks the call and won't dial the number until you press yes on phone.
When I asked HTC they said it was a faulty phone but this is my second phone and still same problem,
Try using your headphones after you have received or missed a call and let' me know if your having the same problem.

So it seems the phone does not recognize a stereo headset is connected to it? It thinks it is a bluetooth device instead so when listening to music and you double tap your headset it places a call just as it would on a bluetooth device when connected? Sounds like a dumb phone, lol! Hope this isn't the case, i use jaybird bluetooth headset 5 days a week in the gym listening to music from my phone and always change tracks with double tap, answer calls, etc. Would i be effected by this when listening to music?
Never heard of this problem in a cell phone before?

Nope, it displays the headset icon, so it's correct... I have a Monster Mobile Jamz Headset with only 1 control button with this problem.
My BT headset Sony MW1 works correct, but it has single buttons for every control like forward/rewind/play/pause/volume....

Oh ok so for a device like mine it should work ok? Guess i'll find out soon enough, picking up the device tomorrow morning from ATT. What is Power Amp? Is this a 3rd party download to listen to music? What does this feature for you guys over the stock music player? Thanks

Ya I'm having the problem too I tried two of my friends hox and it worked fine on one and the other called out my fix for this as I use Google voice is have me ask each time I make a call to confirm and has worked fine like that I can't figure out what setting is on though to make one work fine and the other not
Damn this sucks. So i guess in the gym i have to pull this lunk out of my pocket whenever i want to change a track VS. the shortcut keys on my headset for which they were built for. Thanks HTC, you're always the best!!!
Do your wired headset volume rocker adjust the volume on the phone? I'm using a good pair of Bose wired headsets to listen to music and watch videos on my device and it has the controller on the headset for volume and change tracks/answer calls/ etc. When watching a Netflix video though in the Netflix App the Volume Rocker on my Bose headset does nothing, i have to manually press the volume rocker on the actual device, Wow another Fail HTC and these headphones are fully compatible with Android and Apple devices.
I hope once we can get our phones Rooted a developer can make a tool/tweak to make our headsets work they work on every other device under the sun the way they should and stupid HTC prevents for whatever reason. Really a waste to have zero control with a headset for this device.

Headset command

Hello XDA community,
I bought the Bose SIE2i knowing that this headset is optimized for apple...
But i'm sure Android can settle the Headset command (play/pause, next/previous, sound, micro)
Do you know an app or a way to modify the headset command ?
thank you
No one knows ??
So far only pause and play works for me... Using spotify on Note 2. The middle button is that button. Thought about if someone could make a script that every time you press the up or down button, the signal is transfered to some kind of action, aka next track or similar. Would be nice to have...
