I don't know why you need it cause it will drain your battery much faster cause Realme 6 has an LCD screen not an AMOLED screen, if Realme 6 had an AMOLED screen then it would drain less battery and even thought it would not be battery efficient.

No, it does not support always on display functions.

But you can always download a third party always on display apps on playstore.

Disappointed with the battery life

Must say I am very disappointed with the battery life of this phone. Gonna hate myself with what am gonna say but thinking to send it back and get the z5. Does anyone have any tips on how to extend the battery life? Only had the phone few days now so don't know if that works and need to let it settle but so far nothing is working out.
I have killer battery life using my mophie case....It's a phone case and extra battery in one. So sweet.

I have to admit I'm really quite dissapointed with the battery life too.
I nearly kicked myself when the Z5 came out as I should of waited and got that instead.
This S6 is laggy, freezes too often and even with the fast charger it might as well be a land line it's pulled in that often.
I am surprised actually. Not noticed much difference in battery of s6 edge vs my old Z3. If anything, its minimal to me.
S6 has a good battery life for what it houses under the hood. It could have been worse like the G4

Fast battery charging

Hi friends!
I'm not an expert, but to me, this seems very strange. I understand that the Redmi Note 4 supports fast charging, but how fast is that actually and how does it work? For example, with the stock charger which is 5V and 2A, my phone from 1% to 100% is charged in about 1 hour and few minutes. The battery is 4100mAh , so for the stock charger it would take approx. 2 hours (plus-minus). Can anybody explain to me how the hell is my phone charged in around 70 minutes? In the different roms, there were different charging times, actually longer. Now with the AOSP custom rom, my phone is fully charged in around 1 hour. Not that i'm complaining, i'm just curious.
That's an interesting question.
I always have known it to be:
>4100maH Battery
>Charging at 2A
Therefore:
4.1AH / 2A = 2.05 hours

Math, the Queen
Fast charging depends on processor capability. Redmi note 4 have 625 SD processor which supports quick charge 3.0. If you go for higher end phones with 8XX Snapdragon processor they have quick charge 4.0 , it will even take less time to charge. You can google about the science behind this, but to the best of my knowledge quick charge 3.0 passes higher current minimizing resistance during charge process. One small detail you can notice, fast charging charges battery upto 80% pretty faster & after that speed of charging slows which is needed to prevent battery from exploding. Almost all fast charging adv says "0-80% in xyz miniutes", hardly anyone advertise 0-100% in xyz mins.
Could you mention, which rom are you using?
as far as i know, 625 supports QC 3
but xiaomi didn't activate it in the kernel hence only QC 2 is working...
Are you getting the same 10 hours of SoT in 1 full charge?
If yes, then what ROM / Kernel you're on?
People are here in this forum randomly talk about SOT & VULCAN API i highly appreciate if anyone explain... Thanks
SoT: Screen on Time, the time you can use your phone with the screen is active e.g. watch a video, text someone...
There is a difference between between SoT and Standby time. You can have a SoT of 12 hours while you carry your phone around 2 days.
Vulkan API: I refer to Wikipedia : https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vulkan_(API)
Very fast!!
Could you please share Rom and Kernel version ?
Yes my battery also charges quite fast on stock Miui rom & the charging graph looks quite straight up but not as fast as turbo charging of moto. Though I never reached below 53% yet because my screen on usage per day on average is 6.30hrs and I get it there by 53%
One thing I'd like to know if it's for everyone.
As I power on the charger connecting to the phone it generates some hiss sound. Listen up closely.
But if I power on charger without connecting phone then there is no such sound.

I've been using it for over a month, and it doesn't have any problems. It can be used safely.
I sent it here and I hope it will be able to recompile it so that it can be used on all ROM.
Because this kernel can only be used on the author's ROM, there will be no WIFI if you brush the kernel on other ROM.
It can also be used on the AEX ROM, but it's also a kernel modified by someone else.
I asked a few great gods, they said that the kernel is matched with the WIFI, and then nothing.
I sent it here in the hope that a great God can fix it and use it, and I'm not afraid of the danger. Let me be a white mouse. If you can, I want you to contact me and let me do the test.

I can't speak English, I'm sorry! I use translation software to translate my Chinese into English, if it has anything wrong, please forgive me. I am from China, a fast charging can work the kernel, here the author modifies it, to make it all work on ROM, I tested the fast charging kernel revised others, you can use AEX and DU. I am so sorry to tell you, you forgot that the 2A are connected to 5V input -> 10W
The battery is a "BN41" with 4.4V and min 4.0Ah and 15.4Wh -> in theory 15.4Wh / 10W ~ 1.5h with a power factor of 100, but there will be loss as heat is generated during the charging. In order to charge the battery a BMS(either by the SoC or added circuit) is required, which will produce a loss of usable power, hence the higher charging time.
The out of the box charger of my Redmi Note 4 Global is a EU charger rated 5V 2A but never goes above ~1.3A+/-1% (meassured with a Keweisi KWS-10VA USB tester).
A 5V 1.5A USB(*1) and a 5V 8A USB(*6) power supply gives ~1.45A and my 5V3.1A car charger (2xUSB with alternating display for voltage, current and temperature) delivers a bit over 2A.
I read in reviews (cannot remember where) that the Xiaomi US charger for the Redmi 4x SD delivers a higher current, even when connected to 230V.

I was just going to start a thread on this topic, but I'll reply to yours instead
I have the 3500mAh battery from Amazon an had been getting terrible battery life. I did a few things to improve it
- turn off display always on feature
- clear app Cache
- power off, pulled battery, reinsert battery, fully charge
Those seem to have improved overall screen on time performance to a little over 4 hours now. Hoping close to 5, but we'll see how it goes by end of day.
After a few days of improved and repeatable battery performance, I might re-enable the 'always on' feature and gauge it's impact.
I guess the 'official' line from LG is that it always-on impact on battery *should* be negligible, but I need to prove that out myself. Otherwise, I have a feeling it was contributing to my lackluster battery performance.
Good luck with your battery life?. I think LG should have stuck with an AMOLED display with the g5 especially if they wanted to have the always on display. With an IPS lcd panel, the backlight will always be on and the time and notifications would be unreadable (I think a led notification light was enough) but I'm glad they decided to use an AMOLED panel with the v30.
One of my friends(unscedeo) rooted his G5, used L Speed, and used a custom kernel (called Asgard reborn) and was able to get 5 hours of sot with the battery that comes with the phone and with the always on display enabled. If you're into rooting I would recommend you do that.

Wanted to add that I have Bluetooth on 24/7 with Android Wear & Moto Body connected/running. WiFi is on and connected for about 2.5 hours of the day (mostly at home during morning and evening), but use cellular for most of the day.
Also, just turned on Pixel 2 Live Wallpapers, so pretty sure my battery life is all downhill from here

I think cellular data and Bluetooth might be responsible for battery drain. On my g5 plus I turned on my LTE for 5 minutes and it drained 1%. I agree the pixel wallpapers are buggy. I have a sd 625 and it significantly slows down the device and crashes Nova launcher. I think it's best to give the development some time.

I might have to disagree, Im pretty happy with my ips display and I would take it over amoled anyday even if it means having a lower battery life
And they used OLED panels for the v30 so oled by itself is power efficiency

I actually agree. Now looking back the only phone which I used that had an amoled display was my galaxy nexus and now I am kind of glad that my phone has in ips lcd display. One of the advantages is there is no screen burn-in.

If you want to root later have you tried the power saving mode under settings? have never owned a LG device but I think there's a quick toggle or it's buried somewhere in the battery settings .

I know right! The colors are so vibrant and so alive and it worth any sacrifice!
Every picture I take on my phone look so incredible through the display and once I watch my pictures on my computer TN display, it doesn't look as alive and kicking.
Unfortunately i suffer from screen burn in but it's whatever as long as it's not permanent, the display is still amazing! I love colors
I can't wait to have an oled screen, but that will be only in the future, my LG g5 is only recent and oled smartphones are still in their diaper stage, as the oled on the v30 and the iPhone 8 (which is yet still provided by lg) is POlED, which to apple's sayings, it's just an upgraded amoled screen with oled technology
I agree lcd displays ftw. I think you might have image retention and there's a simple fix for that. I believe there are different apps on the play store which will remove most to all of it. Good luck?
Haha yeah, I'm using Blue Filter app, it used to work outstandingly at the first half a year! But it seems to work less better and the ghosting is starting to suppress it, i by of course can higher my setting on the app but I don't want too much of a red/green/grey/yellow screen.. So i just might have to live along it's side!
Oh man. I think a blue light filter is a must. Try this app out. A lot of LG G5 users gave it 5 stars so it's worth a try:laugh:.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.blasterbyte.burn_infix
Oh i have it, i have been using it haha
It's just that it's not working as much anymore since my screen burn in got worse
But thank you!
Oh man. You're welcome.

Honor 8X battery life

Does anyone know how well the battery works on the Honor 8x? The battery is 3,750mAh, which doesn’t seem huge.

Pretty good battery section.
Apparently, power management is pretty solid. It says that it lasted the whole day with heavy use.
The battery is huge and I can confirm while being a heavy user that this phone is lasting very long and like ceciliahey said have a very good power managment :good:

I use honor 7x which battery is 3340mAh. Not a gamer myself, but outside of work I spent a lot of time on social media or watching vids. I’ve never needed to charge my phone till bedtime. I think you can safely expect improvements on this next-gen 8x.

~6 Hours screen on-time, but 0 drain during sleep. Anyone else see this?

I have a 32gb WiFi only Tab S3 on Oreo. I am running stock rooted.
I've searched, but most threads here are about standby drain, which I don't have (battery drops literally 0% over 12 hours of sleep with airplane mode on). My problem is that the tablet seems to use a lot of power when on, even when doing random innocuous things like wifi-off drawing on Autodesk Sketchbook. Using GSAM, I can see the slope of usage is a lot higher than I've ever seen on a mobile device (I'll post a screenshot when I have the tablet in hand). It will level off when sleeping, but as soon as I pick it up again, the battery starts draining like crazy. I get maybe 6 hours, usually less, before it hits 2-3%.
Any thoughts?
Dude I was getting 5-6 hours use. I used Package Disabler Pro and froze EVERY single Samsung telemetry gathering app on the tablet, which is pretty much every Samsung app on there, as well as the useless MS apps and other things I'm not going to use. I'm running a battery drain test now, and I'm at 7 hours with 20 percent remaining. Pretty confident I'll get over 8 hours now. Try that.
---------- Post added at 09:17 PM ---------- Previous post was at 09:10 PM ----------
Also I'm pretty sure the wifi drain bug is still present even in the latest updates. Go to settings, tap Ur wifi connection, then advanced, then view more, and change keep wifi on during sleep to only when plugged in.

I'll give that a shot. Do you think you can list which apps you specifically disabled? Thanks!
once you disable the apps, do you need to keep the Package Disabler Pro installed? I read about too many issues with it where users are forced to pay multiple times for the same app...
Yeah, I've noticed this as well; Great sleep battery (1% per 24hrs), but disappointing SOT (7hrs; and that's with the custom debloated ROM from the Dev section).
I guess the next step is to disable All of the Samsung apps (debloated ROM leaves some of the more useful ones intact)
