Phone can't even pass the system configuration - Xiaomi Poco F1 Questions & Answers

Hello mates!
I've sold my Pocophone a while ago and it was working as supposed to. I don't know what the person did but the phone went to the system configuration as if someone did a factory reset or something but it a mess.
When the setup starts it shows a message "Android Setup isn't responding" with a Wait or Ok option.
After a while the message "Android Setup Keeps stopping" also appers.
After that it starts the confituration but when it asks me to connect to WiFi it's completely blank. No WiFi options is showed in the screen.
I can skip that and continue the configuration but in the end a message is showed saying that I didn't configurate a Google Account and it puts me back to the beggining of the configuration.
I've tried a wipe data in recovery menu but nothing changed.
Edit: after I noticed that I can access de notification bar and the configurations of the phone. I discovered that it's using Android 10.0.4.0 and that I can't access WiFi button or configuration. WiFi button is not clickable and the configuration menu is blank and if I wait some long time the options appears but when I click to activete WiFi it says that is activanting but the button comes back to original position.
Edit 2: with Mi Flash Pro I could install the latest version of the system (10.0.6.0) but nothing changed. I noticed that in this configuration menu after a while the phone reboots.
Edit 3: Now I've found something bizarre. Baseband version is unknown. I think that most of the problems maybe is connected to that.

Latest version of miui is MIUI 11 (11.0.6.0).
If the baseband version is unknown it means you have corrupted the modem. Your IMEI number is also gone and you can't use your SIM services.

There are two setups in miui, one is done by miui and second is done by google. So try setting up your phone both times without google account. Once you've made it to the launcher you can figure out the problems.

Thank you for the reply.
That day after hard reset again and knock a little bit the phone, all of sudden the unkwown status changed and the WiFi worked. But was intermittent and also all of sudden the WiFi stopped and sometimes worked on next boot and sometimes not showing again unknown. Sometimes the phone rebooted by itself.
Something is weird with the phone and I don't know if it's physical or software issue.
I returned the phone to the owner. I'm sorry I wrote 10.0.6.0 but it's 11.0.6.0.

gtalk force closing on openOptimus build 2.202.1

i've just flashed the openOptimus build 2.202.1 and installed gtalk through open script. when i tried to open it an error message came " the application talk has stopped unexpectedly."
everytime i try to access it the same error message is coming.
what could be the problem?
please reply asap
Gotta remember openoptimus 2 is still on its first release, bring this to the attention of caiox, see if this is a known issue or just a fluke. Maybe, factory reset.

yes i did factory reset but no luck. Another problem i am facing is the random reboots. phone hangs and then it restarts.
found another bug. when i turn off the screen wifi gets disconnected. i've also set the sleep policy to "never" but still it gets disconnected.
i cant post this in dev section as my post count is less.
ahh messenger notifications are also no working. i've to turn on the sreen and then notifications come. this happens both on wifi and data.
anyways i am going back to andy's rom. it was far stable one.

**** eh, well answer some questions like mad in the general section. Or even PM the guy, I'm sure he wouldn't mind bro
@OP: I suggest
- wipe /data
- wipe /cache
- wipe dalvik-cache
- format system
- reinstall from scratch and do NOT restore any of the apps/data junk you had via TB or any other application
After that, you will not have a FUBARed phone any more.
I have same problem.
I already restored via openscript, its said successfull, but when I open, its said the application talk has stopped unexpectedly..
When I installed as usual, its said: Application Not Installed.

Miui completely ignores Data settings

so i just went back to Miui and i get no data connection. i have service so i know my baseband and all are fine. i made sure all my APN settings are correct but i get no data at all and everytime i reboot it turns my data off.
i've tried reflashing and same issue. any ideas?
Redownload it try a fresh flash...i have zero issues with miui.
When you reboot do you pull down your notification bar and turn data back on?? That is a known issue
no i turn it back on in the settings menu
---------- Post added at 10:04 PM ---------- Previous post was at 09:58 PM ----------
o and now it forever joins a wifi network and never connects. even after downloading the other MIUI rom i still get this issue
I must ask... did you follow all instructions? i dont have and have not read of these problems anywhere within a miui thread
I'm currently having the same issue. I've been trying to figure it out for a couple of days now, without success. If you find a solution, please clue me in and I'll do the same.
I hope you all know that, that is a known issue with the latest MIUI rom.
Now, it doesn't seem to matter what rom I flash to, the data still fails to work.

New APN error: process com.android.settings

Hello
I have problem after install new official 2.3.4 rom KH3 and KH1. No 3g connection
When i try add NEW APN i have crash window SORRY: process com.android.settings force closed.
I already try trick with APN backup and restore , no changes. .
Phone now CSC XEU. before it was 2.3.3 it MOT (unlocked and rooted )and modem BUKG1
any help ,maybe root and some operations with files ?
More info
After change CSC to any other ( code 272 ) and reboot 3g started and no problem with add new APN. After next reboot error return back and no 3g
Hi Filant,
I was having same problem. Getting error on clicking on ADD apn. Would loose APN everytime I switch phone off, and be unable to add APN !! Only solution was a factory reset and not switching phone off...
Phone is galaxy s2. Problem started on updating firmware to 2.3.4.
The solution I found is to go into applications and find app simtoolkit. Force stop this and then go back into your APN settings and it should work. You may need to turn data - Use Packet Data on and off, and possibly manually select the network operator. Have lost track of exactly how these were set.
I guess my problem is that I have a very old SIM card (8yrs plus).
Hope this works for you as well - it was driving me crazy
Tino
APN error: process com.android.settings force close
Hi Tino, Hi Filant, I have started to face the same problem (APN error / completely lost 3G data) right after upgrading from 2.3.4. to firmware 2.3.5, the information mentioned on Tino's post was really very helpful, I think i'm half way there to solve the problem.
although I restored my phone to factory settings (that was before reading the post), same problem occurred after the first reboot. the question now, do i have to contact my network operator and change the SIM card as i think it is also quite old, will this help in solving the problem, i'm really bothered, i was having hell of problems with S1 and now hard times with S2, gonna lose my mind, and i would like to know what you have done both to overcome this issue
Apn error
Hi all, I've changed the old SIM card, and I'm no more facing this problem no matter if I restarted the phone or even removed the SIM and put it back. It's all OK now
I'm having this same problem. I can go to mobile networks and when i click on apn it force closes.. It opens up the apn window. (nothing is shown) and after like 3 seconds i get this message - "The application settings (process com.android.setttings) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again. I'm using the samsung rugby smart phone. Unrooted. COMPLETELY STOCK running 2.3.6.. Baseband version I847UCLA4.. Kernal version 2.6.35.7 ... Build number GINGERBREAD.UCLA4... I put it in airplane mode then turn it off. I turn data on then off. I reset phone. I've hard reset. The phone shows the mobile data connection up top (E, 4G, 3G) it shows that and the arrows light up as if its processing but I try to access the web and will not work. Even the apn apps on the play store don't even work. They force close or don't even work. Please help me!!

This is such great news!!! knowing that motorola is unlikely to release an official build of ICS! I will follow this thread closely!
This should develop a lot quicker since they have an absolute vanilla ROM to start with, right?
wow, i honestly wasn't expecting to see this thread that soon!
I am definitely going to give it a try.
I wonder if market download issue is related to drm server not started. HTC Vision ICS alpha builds had this problem. I will report back once I get a chance to try it.
Edit: Just as I thought issue with market not downloading is due to DRM server not started at boot. To fix market downloads do the following on shell as root:
Code:
mount -o remount,rw /system
chmod +x /system/bin/drmserver
/system/bin/drmserver&
mount -o remount,ro /system
After this Market will install fine.
How do we get in CWR? Reboot to recovery doesn't appear to be working, even wipe data from settings doesn't engage. I noticed now during boot while at M logo, brightness goes down and notification light goes blue for a second, then green for another second then off, shortly after boot animation starts. I tried holding vol+- keys and camera to see if I boot into something else than normal boot, but no luck. Actually - managed to boot in "safe mode" by holding the camera key I believe (or was it some of the vol keys?). Phone started but was saying "safe mode" in the lower left corner of the screen.
So far I can say WIFI, bluetooth and GPS work fine, but GSM/CDMA connection is not. Phone says no service and signal bar is blank. I cannot even get into mobile network settings (force closes), even *#*#4636#*#* service menu FC's. Also messaging app crashes on boot (I guess related to GSM/CDMA issue).
But I am impressed how smoothly phone operates, transitions and all!
Another bug I found - HW keyboard has issues with ~ button (top left corner). In most cases it engages as Tab key. I managed to get it do ~ once or twice. The rest of the blue symbols (ALT) work fine. ALT Lock functions properly too (except for ~ key).
Also launcher seems to be not quite landscape aware, or at least there is something buggy there. When I slide keyboard open while on home screen or in app drawer, the screen orientates and shows fine in landscape in split second then goes back portrait.
As far as GSM/CDMA goes - no go. Tried both with and without SIM card - nothing happens. Phone settings keep force closing.
Phone.apk
In order to change from GSM to CDMA, you must edit the phone.apk to withstand the global mode

Not sure exactly what you mean honestly. I am in Canada and use the phone on GSM. My CDMA radio is active too, but I only use it when travelling in the US. The thing is phone does not start in either mode. Nor there is way to flip between modes. I was thinking of editing build.prop to set in either mode (not default Global), but data wipe doesn't work either. And I can't figure way how to enter Clockwork either. Waiting on more knowledgeable people to shed some light here...

Hi,
I am stuck at MOTOROLA logo after trying to flash this ROM.
I was in 2.4.3.30 booted up to CWM using Droid 2 Bootstrap and flashed ICS zip file.
Now phone won't boot, it is stuck in MOTOROLA logo... I think I bricked my device...
I can enter recovery but I don't think that would help.
Hope you can help me.

You need to update to Gingerbread before you flash this. Froyo kernel won't work. Simply SBF back stock, update to Gingerbread (4.5.608) OTA, then root, install CWM and proceed with flashing ICS zip at this point.

Essentially, you need to launch /system/bin/drmserver process. You can either do from terminal or from adb shell.
If you have terminal.apk - install it from file manager then launch and start drmserver that way - you don't need adb. BTW - it seems drmserver has the right permissions already, just needs to be launched (no need to remount read/write and changing permissions - essentially only one line remains from the original:
Code:
/system/bin/drmserver&
. (the ampersand at the end is so it detaches from shell and goes in background). If market was launched before you start drmserver, you need to stop market from app management. After that when you start market, it will download just fine.

Looks like battery gauge is not working (shows always full battery). Try recharging battery on external charger or see if you leave phone plugged in for a while if it charges.
As for bootloader - the problem is likely again the battery - if it is too low, it won't let you flash sbf.

Hi, not sure if it will help, but ICS on the Droid 1 does something similar, I have found that if you open a terminal, do a 'su' then at a # type 'radiooptions 1' you get your cell connection back. Not sure if this is applicable in your situation, but might be worth the try.

Was using the Notify n Fitness app, then out of sudden i decide to manually converting to another rom. the first phase was successful. but then, it restarted to 2nd phase, unfortunately it didn't managed to get there... stay in 'sleep mode' ever since.

Any status on this brick? Same happened to me few moments ago
I am with the same problem. Please, must be a solution... anyone knows something? Thanks in advance
Me2 same with this like that.
For first poster : You have to flash first FW, THEN .res.
Maybe that's why.
To flash the 2 files, i used Notify & Fitness today and all ok.
FW : 0.1.0.27
And once it's bricked, for now, I haven't seen anyone recovering it...
Mine was brick as well. I followed the tutorial of one of the thread here

My watch is not dead but it's bootlooping this is after I tried to update the latest firmware using mi fit app and it failed now mi fit app won't recognize the device it says "unable to connect please restart the Bluetooth and try again". The watch turn on with backlight then backlight turns off after few seconds and just a second after backlight turn off the watch turns off and turn on again. The watch show the correct time and have it's default watchface. Does anybody know how to resolve this issue.

Hi There,
I'm also facing the bootlopping issue, I tried using another phone to pair. after many tries, I;m able to see the paring screen but I;m unable to press the 'Tick' icon then after awhile it will auto reboot again.
have you found a way to fix it yet?

I haven't found fix for this one.

I came across the above link regarding the teardown of amzefit bip and it says if the wrong firmware is flashed and if the watch bricks it can be unbricked by using the testing points available on motherboard of the watch. I don't have a decent electronics background so didn't understood it.
Finally I just understood that it's possible but, not for common user like me (unless someone creates a proper tutorial)
Hi,
I have the same issue.
Do you find something ?
