Yes and yes.
Sorry for the to late reply, if you want install stock recovery download your firmware and flash the recovery via fastboot, but if you want go back to stock flash the firmware via qfil(be careful and make a backup on your external storage if you lost the imei(efs, baseband) you can restore via your backup of TWRP).
recently bought k6 power,It came with marsmallow s150 and asked to update marshmallow s156.It was about 75mb.
After it,asked for nougat s223 which i know that has lots of bugs now.So ignored the update and simply disabled update notification
I'll stick with s156 till there is a clear cut bug free nougat version. No need to install unless i want headache
Lenovo has bad reputation for updating their devices. They ruin the next version of android.Simply disaster.
So I would all advise you to stick with s156.
Bro update to S229 .it has fixed some bugs nd ui becomes smoother then previous.
Hello
I have updated to s229 by system update, i want to go back to s156.
I m on official rom. Can you guys please help?
Can i use the full ota zip to downgrade? If no then, is there any way to get the official link to download rom, i don't trust the rom from other sources and file sharing sites.
Thanks
I never had issue on s 223 even just reset your device after upgrading android ....

[Guide] Root and Switch from CN to WW / WW to CN + Downgrade FW

So i was searching for some guides but none were really complete so here is my take on a Guide regarding Root and flashing from WW to CN or CN to WW and Downgrading if your FW is to high.
Requirements:
A computer
Your ROG Phone 3 (Duh)
The Bootloader Unlock Tool (can be found here)
TWRP (can be found here)
ADB+Drivers (can be found here and here)
The newst Firmware from Asus (can be found here) To cross flash you need both CN and WW Version with the same Build Number. Newest one with matching Number should be the .2009.98 as the time of writing this. CN WW
Magisk Manager (can be found here)
IMPORTANT!
After you cross flash you will loose the ability to update via OTA. So you have to update your Phone yourself.
Also you WILL loose your Data by following this guide and unlocking your Bootloader!
Follow this Guide at your own Risk! I do NOT take any responsibilty for problems or bricks.
Also if you have a PIN, Fingerprint or anything installed on your Phone aside from the PIN for your Cards disable them.
Preparations:
First download or copy the Bootloader Unlock file to your phone and install it. After that run it. If it is successfull your Bootloader will be unlocked and your device will be wiped.
Now install adb and the drivers provided from the Links above.
After you installed adb download and copy the twrp image to the Adb folder and rename it to twrp.img
Then open a cmd and cd to the directory where adb is installed. Easiest folder for accessing + location would be C:\adb
Now enable the Developer Settings on your Rog Phone. For that open the Settings go to System / About the Phone / Softwareinformation / Then tap on Build-Number till it says you are a Developer.
Now go to Developer Options. Its also under System and then Developer Options. Enable USB-Debugging.
Connect your Rog Phone via usb to your pc and enable the ADB Debug Connection from the prompt on your phone.
Type in adb reboot bootloader and your phone will reboot to fastboot.
After that use
fastboot flash recovery_a twrp.img
fastboot flash recovery_b twrp.img
to install TWRP on your Phone. After that reboot your phone to recovery through the menu. With TWRP installed you can now fully Backup your system + install/downgrade new Versions of Android. This also works if you want to install WW on a CN Version of the Rog Phone.
Downgrade:
To Downgrade just download the Firmware Version you want to downgrade to from the Asus Homepage and copy it to your ROG Phone.
Then boot to TWRP. To be safe create a backup. After that you can install the ZIP file with TWRP. If the Downgrade is successfull you can remove the backup to save some space.
Reboot your phone and check the installed Version.
Switching Rom WW/CN or CN/WW:
To Switch your Rom you need the Firmware Version which matches for both Region. Currently this would be build .2009.98 There are newer ones available with 2009.99 for WW and 2009.100 for CN but the later one is not available for Download only through OTA and 99 is not available as download for CN devices.
If your Firmware is higher then the .98 or newest matching Version available Downgrade to that Version. Create a Backup before doing so.
If successfull you can then install the same Version for the other Region. For me this did work fine. If it does not work you can always restore your backup via TWRP.
There are also RAW Zip Files available for some Versions but those are hard to find and can brick your phone while trying to downgrade.
Rooting:
Download and install Magisk Manager from the link provided above.
After installing it open the App and download Magisk.
Boot to TWRP and install the Zip File for Magisk.
After that reboot to System. You can check if root is working by using root checker or any other software.
If you plan on using Magisk together with for example Pokemon Go you need to Hide Magisk in the Settings.
Like Bugs Bunny said. "This should be all folks."
If you need further help or something is missing feel free to post below.
Seriously? What a waste of bandwidth.

Sir? sorry noob here. how do you install the adb drivers?
Is there a way to pass CTS Profile? I tried many steps but none worked.
Magisk.zip v20.4 is working , but latest 21.* causing boot loop.
I have a question. I rooted my ROG 3 and installed Adaway program , but it says that it unable to copy host file to /system partition. System partition is read only. Is there any way to make it rw ?

Defeats the whole purpose of systemless root. Moreover, the /system partition now resides inside the new dynamic super partition which is always mounted ready-only.
It would be better to go for a systemless solution. I believe there's a module, but don't remember. So try searching for that.
EDIT: As for the bootloop, try Magisk v21.4, it should fix the bootloop.

There are three variants:
(for Oreo only, and keep in mind, that OEMINFO changing will lock you bootloader again).
A/ use HwOTA Tool
HwOTA8-ANE
B/ install TWRP for Oreo
link:
TWRP-oreo-smart
Download OEMINFO C432 :
OEMINFO ANE-LX1C432
Unpack .zip file and transfer oeminfo .img file to the SD card
Using Firmware Finder for Huawei apk, search for Oreo ANE-LX1C432 . Select FullOTA-MF, download the three files. (For example: find ANE-LX1C432B178 No.230902, download update.zip, ANE-L21_hw_eu.zip and publick.zip.)
Rename update_data_*.zip to update_data_public.zip
Rename update_full_*.zip to update_all_hw.zip
Don't rename update.zip.
Download HuRUpdater.zip
http://www.mediafire.com/file/r14sor2g4cbugzw/HuRUpdater_0.4.zip
Prepare an folder on SD card, like so:
myupdate/
HuRUpdater.zip
update.zip
update_data_public.zip
update_all_hw.zip
Boot into TWRP, flash OEMINFO C432.img (- in TWRP select Flash image). Go back to the main TWRP's menu, select Install , select 'myupdate' file and tap the HuRUpdater.zip , confirm.
You may need to press Volume Down for HuRUpdater to continue!
Reboot system.
C/ Download Oreo Service ROM , e.g.
Service ROM 8.0.0.178
Unpack .zip archive, find dload file in Software folder and transfer it to the SD card without unpacking it.
Install TWRP over eRecovery (you will need Stock Recovery due to the dload method).
Flash OEMINFO C432 , go back to the main TWRP's panel and select Reboot > Power Off.
Use three button combo to flash Service ROM . The process will erase all your data and will lock the BL again!
Note: how to install TWRP over eRecovery:
- copy to SD card TWRP-oreo-smart.img
- Download and copy to SD card Oreo Stock recovery~ramdisk :
Recovery_ramdisk
- in main TWRP menu tap Install image, then navigate
to the TWRP-oreo-smart.img, select
eRecovery Ramdisk and confirm . Go back, navigate to
Recovery_ramdisk-ANE-OREO.img , select Recovery Ramdisk and confirm.
How to boot into TWRP: reboot your phone, when unlocked bootloader warning appears, press Volume Up key up to 3 seconds to enter TWRP.
Thank you!

Just to let you know, even that I need a combination of method a and b. I finally rebranded my C461 version to the wanted C432. I've tried method A but ended with something like ( system.8.0.0(OSAV) ) with no update option.
I then used the files from this link to use them for method B to correct this issue:
http://update.dbankcdn.com/TDS/data/files/p3/s15/G2496/g1789/v225235/f1/full/update.zip
http://update.dbankcdn.com/TDS/data/files/p3/s15/G2496/g1789/v225235/f1/full/public/update_data_full_public.zip
http://update.dbankcdn.com/TDS/data/files/p3/s15/G2496/g1789/v225235/f1/full/ANE-L21_hw_eu/update_full_ANE-L21_hw_eu.zip
The phone now offers to upgrade and I also get the C432 in the build number. So one step further to custom roms or just stay on stock and get root to remove some bloatware...

Not sure about anroid 11 and rooting n10 5g

have a new n 10 5g. upgraded it to android 11. was that a mistake in order to root it? seems like all the available files for rooting are anroid 10.5. Can i still do it if my phone is v11?

The answer to your first question is no, it was not a mistake. The answer to your second question is yes, you are still able to root your device running android 11, you just need to
1. Install adb/fastboot onto your computer
2. Install the OnePlus drivers (only available for Windows)
3. On your N10 5G, download the magisk apk from github and replace the .apk with .zip
4. Download TWRP or Orange Fox recovery and copy to the same folder as fastboot
5. Flash the custom recovery with fastboot flash recovery recovery.img (where recovery.img is the name of your recovery image)
6. Boot into recovery and flash the magisk zip file. In TWRP select install and browse for the file, with Orange Fox, just go to the location of the zip file, tap on it and select install or flash, I can't remember what it says.
7. Reboot your device.
8. Open up the magisk application, it will have you download and install the full application.

Question Downgrade Nord 2 from A.21 to A.20 / install android 12

Hey guys, since I couldn't find a tutorial for downgrading the Nord 2, here is my way how i did it:
[IMPORTANT: @EricH7001 replied that there is an easier workaround to install android 12 (https://community.oneplus.com/wap/thread?id=1170930960406413321) where you don't have to flash A.20. I would still recommend doing a TWRP backup before trying this method. Some people in that thread said that they couldn't install the C.10 afterwards so proceed at your own risk]
Quick disclaimer: you WILL lose ALL your data so I would strongly recommend that you do a twrp backup now
files you need:
partitionsbackupper
adb (pllatform-tools)
A.20 firmware (donwload here)
unlocked bootloader
how to preceed:
1. place the extracted firmware file (folder named PartitionsBackup) and the partionsbackupper.bat in the platform-tools folder
2. boot the phone into fastboot mode
3. run the partitionsbackupper.bat file and select restore
4. after the installation the phone should reboot.
5. reboot to recovery if not already in (if you end up in fastboot mode just type "fastboot reboot recovery)
6. in recovery mode select wipe and then wipe data
7 after that format data
8. the phone will now reboot into oxygenOS 11 A.20
There you go! You can now install the android 12 C.01 from the oxygen updater app
Thanks for your tutorial, I'll do it on my phone tomorrow when I get to work
