Question Downgrade Nord 2 from A.21 to A.20 / install android 12 - OnePlus Nord 2 5G

Hey guys, since I couldn't find a tutorial for downgrading the Nord 2, here is my way how i did it:
[IMPORTANT: @EricH7001 replied that there is an easier workaround to install android 12 (https://community.oneplus.com/wap/thread?id=1170930960406413321) where you don't have to flash A.20. I would still recommend doing a TWRP backup before trying this method. Some people in that thread said that they couldn't install the C.10 afterwards so proceed at your own risk]
Quick disclaimer: you WILL lose ALL your data so I would strongly recommend that you do a twrp backup now
files you need:
partitionsbackupper
adb (pllatform-tools)
A.20 firmware (donwload here)
unlocked bootloader
how to preceed:
1. place the extracted firmware file (folder named PartitionsBackup) and the partionsbackupper.bat in the platform-tools folder
2. boot the phone into fastboot mode
3. run the partitionsbackupper.bat file and select restore
4. after the installation the phone should reboot.
5. reboot to recovery if not already in (if you end up in fastboot mode just type "fastboot reboot recovery)
6. in recovery mode select wipe and then wipe data
7 after that format data
8. the phone will now reboot into oxygenOS 11 A.20
There you go! You can now install the android 12 C.01 from the oxygen updater app

Thanks for your tutorial, I'll do it on my phone tomorrow when I get to work

Unable to sucessfully root MIUI 10 Global

MODS: Please move this question to the HELP section - incorrectly posted. Thanks.
Hello,
I am trying to root the Global MIUI _V10.2.1.0.PECMIXM ROM using Magisk. I want my phone to remain encrypted, and having spent all day today trying to achieve this, I am turning here for help.
I have tried flashing via Fastboot and TWRP, have tried flashing Disable DMVerity (without disabling the force encryption) before, and after flashing Magisk. I hava managed to get Magisk 18 flashed and able to boot to the ROM, but when I open Magisk Manager (Installed by the flash) it updates itself and says it needs to install Magisk, proposing to download it - or patch boot img.
Every time I try to flash the downloaded zip, or try fastboot flashing the modified boot.img, the phone won't boot - it just ends up in TWRP recovery.
I have wiped data 100s of times to try to fix this, to no avail.
I have tried to boot into TWRP without flashing it, but this just hands on the TWRP flash screen every time.
Any help / tips would be appreciated.
Were you following any tutorial post? Recent xiaomi phones come with more strict policy on bootload locks. I'm not familiar with it, but if I didn't misunderstand, without BL unlock it's kinda dangerous to flash anything on the phone.

Thanks for replying. Yes, following tutorials, have unlocked my bootloader and can flash ROMs, just cannot get the latest MIUI 10 Global Stable rooted, without decrypting the phone. I have managed it on the Xiaomi.eu global stable, but not with the original Stock ROM.

Thanks for replying. However, this tells me how to flash TWRP, how to boot to TWRP - I have no problem doing that whatsoever. I can successfully do that again and again.

Nubia RED MAGIC NX609J 2.36 CN Slim ROM - for flashing GAPPS

I prepared a stripped down version for NUBIA RED MAGIC 2.36 CN ROM (you can find the full ROM here http://ui.nubia.cn/rom)
I take out a lot of CN applications. You can flash over the OpenGAPPS and get Google applications, make the ROM more usable in the European countries.
DOWNLOAD
https://mega.nz/#F!xsFnkQDL!XQXUTVjq8xDfvG_OElXTYw
Install:
- First: don't forget to backup your files, if you come from Global ROM you will need to erase also internal storage of your phone!
- you will need TWRP installed. Look how to in sakilxda's thread (thank you sakilxda! ): https://forum.xda-developers.com/red-magic/how-to/unlock-bootloader-flasah-twrp-nubia-red-t3828466
- Download Oppen Gapps for ARM 64 - 8.1 nano (or micro/mini etc at your need - https://opengapps.org/)
- copy the downloaded ROM and GAPPS in your phone's internal storage
- go in TWRP, Advanced Wipe: wipe Dalvik/Art Cache, Cahe, Syste, Data.
- go to install menu and chose the ROM add to zip list also the GAPPS you downloaded: IS IMPORTANT TO FLASH GAPPS IMMEDIATELY AFTER ROM, ELSE WILL NOT WORK CORRECTLY!
- OPTIONAL: you can add also blu_spark r36 Red Magic's kernel (THANK YOU blu_spark) from: https://forum.xda-developers.com/red-magic/development/kernel-t3813055
- Wipe cache when finish and reboot!
Good luck!

If you stuck on searching updates: just push power button and slide the restart button.
After this it will start over but will pass the update chek!
For root: download the magisk.apk and Magisk-v18.1(18100).zip from download link that I have given.
Put them in your phones internal storage. Install magisk.apk and run it once.
Then go in recovery TWRP and instal Magisk-v18.1(18100).zip, wipe cahe when asked.
Restart phone =>ROOTED!
You can find Magisk also in google Play!.
Have fun!

2. Stucking at " checking for updates"... ---> I removed sim card then restarted. After that, I skipped all of setup steps. after all, I can access home screen launcher.
Now I found the bug: I can not access to "developer options" in settings

THANK YOU tlgod! Well done!
There is also the alternative to go back to official ROM:
1. Download the official ROM - CN or Global - you can find links in this thread
2. Copy ROM in internal storage (preferable in root)
3. Go in Settings-System Update-Menu (3 dots in upper right corner) - local update
4. Choose the ROM you downloaded and install > if you choose CN ROM: you are back to original recovery, boot, ROM
5. If you want to go back to global ROM you will have some more steps: need to wipe all USER DATA and CACHE in original Recovery after update (this will erase your internal memory !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! so BACKUP BACKUP....!!!!!!, now the phone can be restarted.
Global ROM will encrypt your Phone!!!! therefore when you go from Global to CN or back you need to wipe your USER DATA and lost everything from internal storage!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, I put everything in one folder (ROM Magisk.apk and zip, twrp), so you don't need another link.
For developer bug: you need to root the phone and you will get acces to developer options!
P.S. Sometimes a restart is also a good option!

Unfortunately it has happened to me also at the beginning. My unlocking counter is at 20.
So you need to do the following:
Unlock your bootloader again, flash TWRP (again ), go through ROM install procedure (again) as I mentioned in 1st post, but this time put also blu_spark r36 Red Magic's kernel in zip list to be flashed. In this way the original kernel (which has some security measures implemented in it and in case of some modifications in ROM it will overwrite the recovery with a backup from internal memory, I think is located in DATA folder...) will be overwritten and recovery will be preserved. At least this procedure I find at this moment.
Good Luck!
i'm try Red Magic OS V3.06 android Pie, and new Game Mode are perfect, but not have gapp, im test flash gapp in twrp but not work, you can pls help me add opengapp to new rom.
Thanks you very much.

[GUIDE] Unlock, Flash TWRP, and Root X50 Pro (A42)

Please read this guide fully before attempting to follow it. It requires some knowledge of how to use a Terminal and basic ADB/Fastboot operation. I don't think this guide is thorough enough for a person who's modifying their phone for the very first time. Feel free to ask for help though!
I am not reliable for any adverse effects this guide might have on your phone. If something breaks, that's your responsibility. However: if your phone doesn't boot anymore, but you can still get into fastboot, you should be able to flash the Stock Firmware OFP using the Realme Flash Tool. To get into fastboot, power off your phone, wait a few seconds, and hold power and volume down until you see the fastboot logo.
This guide was cobbled together using various other tutorials and my own attempts. I've used it on my RMX2075. It should also work for the RMX2076. The files Realme provides for the RMX2075 are named "RMX2076", so I assume they're the same device. I have no idea how the RMX2071 fits into this. Curiously, the TWRP version used here is intended for the RMX2071, although it works flawlessly on my RMX2075. However: if you're using it on an RMX2075/2076 TWRP thinks you're using an RMX2071, so it won't flash packages intended for the RMX2075/2076. Hence the following warning:
!!! YOU WON'T BE ABLE TO INSTALL OTA UPDATES AFTER INSTALLING TWRP !!!
If you attempt to install an OTA Update downloaded from within the Settings.app, the phone will reboot, TWRP will attempt to install the OTA Update and fail with an error. This does not break anything, it just doesn't update.

Spoiler: further details
The licensing of this TWRP is pretty unclear, so I can't provide a download link. If you search for it Online, make sure to find a version that includes both "recovery.img" and "misc.bin"
- Realme DeepTesting App
- Magisk Manager by topjohnwu
- oppo ozip decrypt
PREPARATION:
- install ADB & Fastboot on your computer
- enable "USB debugging" on your phone
- install the oppo ozip decryption tool by following the instruction on the GitHub page
UNLOCKING
- follow the unlock instructions provided by the official Realme Tutorial
RESTORING AND UPDATING - if you're on firmware A42, skip this step
- follow the restore instructions provided by the official Realme Tutorial
- go to the Realme Software Update page, click on "How to update?" and follow the instructions
FLASH TWRP
- open a Terminal window and cd into the folder that holds recovery.img and misc.bin
cd /path/to/folder
- enter the following commands and hit enter after each
adb reboot bootloader
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot flash misc misc.bin
fastboot reboot recovery
- your phone should now reboot into TWRP
- enter your phones unlock code if you have one
- go to "Advanced" -> "Disable Replace TWRP"
- reboot phone
ROOTING
DO NOT use "Install Root" in TWRP, it'll "destroy" the bootloader and you'll have to flash the stock firmware
Follow this instead:
- decrypt the OTA .ozip using the oppo ozip decrypt tool (instructions on its GitHub page)
- unzip the resulting decrypted file
- copy "boot.img" onto your phone
- copy "/firmware-update/vbmeta.img" into a folder of your choice
- install Magisk Manager on your phone
- open Magisk Manager, tap on "Install" followed by "Select and Patch a File"
- select the "boot.img" you've previously copied onto your phone and let Magisk do its thing
- the patched "boot.img" is called "magisk_patched_XXXX.img" or something similar. Make note of the resulting file name which is specific to you.
- copy the patched "magisk_patched_XXXX.img" into the same folder that holds your "vbmeta.img"
- open a terminal and cd into the folder that holds the patched "boot.img" and "vbmeta.img"
- enter the following commands and hit enter after each
adb reboot bootloader
in the following step, replace "magisk_patched_XXXX.img" with whatever your patched "boot.img" is called
fastboot flash boot magisk_patched_XXXX.img/ICODE]
[ICODE]fastboot --disable-verity --disable-verification flash vbmeta vbmeta.img
fastboot reboot
- your phone should now be rooted
I have also uploaded the stock boot.img along with the rooted version as well as vbmeta.img here. They were created using the method described above with OTA update A42. I would recommend creating your own though, since this has a higher chance of success.
Another method to get the stock boot.img and vbmeta.img is creating a TWRP backup, renaming "boot.emmc.win" to "boot.img", and "vbmeta.emmc.win" to "vbmeta.img". I have NOT TESTED this method.
I don't know if this will work for Android 11 / ColorOS 2.0. My theory is that if you can get the RMX2076PU_11.C.16.ozip somewhere, you could just follow this guide using it instead of the A42 one. Again, I have NOT TESTED this method.
Unfortunately does not work with Android 11. The result is that the phone stays in the fastboot. The Realme flash tool doesn't work anymore. The phone is now bricked. Let's see if I can reach the service now. Isn't the first time they haven't answered. Now actually needs the MSM tool. But haven't found a working one yet.

The answer to your first question is no, it was not a mistake. The answer to your second question is yes, you are still able to root your device running android 11, you just need to
1. Install adb/fastboot onto your computer
2. Install the OnePlus drivers (only available for Windows)
3. On your N10 5G, download the magisk apk from github and replace the .apk with .zip
4. Download TWRP or Orange Fox recovery and copy to the same folder as fastboot
5. Flash the custom recovery with fastboot flash recovery recovery.img (where recovery.img is the name of your recovery image)
6. Boot into recovery and flash the magisk zip file. In TWRP select install and browse for the file, with Orange Fox, just go to the location of the zip file, tap on it and select install or flash, I can't remember what it says.
7. Reboot your device.
8. Open up the magisk application, it will have you download and install the full application.

Question about upgrading Pocophone F1

Hello all,
It's a long time that's i haven't post a thread here but i have a question.I have a Poco with MIUI Global 9.6 Stable (9.6.25.0) for ROM with a Android Version 8.1.0 OPM 171019.011 with root acces, unlocking bootloader and TWRP 3.3.0-0 installed.
I would upgrade my phone to something "newer" (A ROM with Android 12 if possible) and conserv the root access and my apps.
I have read that now ,we should have 3 files to do that (firmware, system and vendor) to make a wipe and install new ROM with TWRP.
So my question:
-Is it possible to upgrade Android 8.1.0 to Android 12 witn a new ROM? (i have read something about kernel in Android12 but haven't understand all)
-Have i missed some steps or just download files, boot TWRP,wipe and install newer ROM+firmware and vendor appropriate is good?
-Which ROM do you recommend?
Thanks for the previous answers.

It's not possible to switch from stock ROM to custom without doing clean install. You will have to root again.
First update to latest Official Stock ROM, then take backup of your files to your PC or to SDCard (if you have one) , flash to latest Official TWRP and check my POCO F1 Ultimate Collection & Guides. You can find everything there. I have awarded recommended ROMs in my collection.
Feel free to ask if you have any question regarding the guides.
Thanks for the answer.I have begin to read your guides.
If i understand good,it's not possible to conserv my root, unlock bootloader and twrp when i upgrade to android 12? Automaticaly i should root again my phone and restore with titanium backup my files,contact,....?

First you need to take backup of your files to PC or External SDCard.
Then you should update to latest version of MIUI via OTA if it's possible or via TWRP (you can use the stock recovery rom to do it via twrp). (You can also use my guides for clean install stock rom)
Then you should unlock your bootloader if it's not already unlocked.
Then flash latest Official TWRP.
Then flash latest firmware (not vendor) just to make sure you are on the latest. (You should be on latest firmware after updating to the latest MIUI version)
Then Wipe everything + format data according to my guides and flash the ROM you want. If you choose A12 Pixel Experience or crDroid keep in mind that these ROMs use their own recovery because these are encrypted by default ROMs and TWRP can't handle the decryption of A12 encrypted ROMs yet. So to make OTA updates and that stuff work correctly devs of these ROMs decide to use their own recovery which can handle the decryption of encrypted roms and as result to make OTA update work fine. Check the installation instructions of these roms in their threads. (Afterwards you can use adb sideload to flash stuff using these recoveries)
After that, flash Magisk since you want root.
Then you can restore titanium backup if you want.
OK i follow your instruction.Thanks

Yes use Fastboot Method to flash TWRP. No problem with encryption.
After that follow my clean install custom rom guide to flash the ROM you want. Also please check the instructions in the threads of ROMs you want to flash. A12 crDroid and PE use their own recoveries.
Basically tell me which ROM you want to flash to help you exactly with steps.
Hello retrial,
i have a problem to install TWRP-3.6.0-9-0 on my pocophone.Everything working fine but in step 8 of your guide,i can't find my twrp.img that i have copied in 2 different case to test :
8. Boot into Recovery by typing in cmd: fastboot boot <recovery_filename>.img (The file may not be named identically to what stands in this command, so adjust accordingly and write the full path of it, check the example below).
This command will not flash permantly the recovery, it will just temporary boot into it and afterwards you will flash permantly the twrp.img you copied into your Internal Storage or SDcard in recovery partition.
For example: fastboot boot C:\Users\Retrial\Desktop\twrp-3.5.2_9-0-beryllium.img
Have you an idea to why i cannot find my twrp.img in the boot mode?

I have all the steps on my guide. Please read it carefully. It boots back to mi recovery because you haven't flash TWRP yet just booted into. After boot into TWRP u need to flash twrp in recovery section so it will stay after reboot.
Please read the steps.
Download portable Minimal ADB and Fastboot and latest Official TWRP recovery.
Open cmd from minimal adb and fastboot and write:
fastboot boot and the path you have TWRP.
Example:
Code:
fastboot boot C:\Users\Retrial\Desktop\twrp-3.6.0_9-0-beryllium.img
Then proceed with the rest steps in my guide. Connect ur device to pc while u are booted into TWRP and copy TWRP.img to your device. Then in TWRP press Install Image and select the twrp.img u just copied into ur device. Select recovery and done.
I have made a video to show you what happened (sorry for the bad quality and the moove) :
I think a video is easyest to understand my problem. For information my bootloader is unlock and usb debugging ok.

Hmm strange, probably of MIUI. Anyway since you are going to flash custom rom, when u flash twrp in recovery go back and select wipe and wipe everything (read my clean install guide), go back press format data type yes, and then reboot to TWRP.
EDIT: I just saw u rebooted to system. That's not what we want. Press reboot to recovery.
i reboot first to bootloader after have flash the twrp.img in recovery. That's only the second time that i reboot to system to use the normal mode of the phone and reboot after to recovery mode to show you that mi recovery is back.

The TWRP flashed correctly. You overlap it again by pressing reboot to recovery from MIUI updater.
Don't do that...do the combination to boot to TWRP after flashing it. Power+Volume Up.
And continue with clean install steps in my guide to flash custom rom.
In my guide I write nowhere to boot to MIUI and press from MIUI Updater reboot to recovery, please stick to my guide and you will be fine.
