Taxi Libres, Columbia's largest taxi company has recently teamed up with AppGallery to launch its new app. With over 30,000 vehicles available across the country, Taxi Libres has more than 30 years' experience in transport and comprehensive insurance policies that protect the passengers they ferry. It is also part of the Columbia National Police Cooperating Network. With the Taxi Libres app, people in Columbia can book taxis at their convenience. Both Huawei and Taxi Libres engineers worked closely, especially to fix bugs on the app before publishing. Huawei also offered mobile devices for app testing. As a result of this close collaboration, the app was published on AppGallery in just 10 days.
“The taxi market in Columbia is a competitive one for local operators as Beat, DIDI and Uber occupy a large share of the pie. Our challenge was then to increase traffic, downloads and taxi users via one central platform. Given the large market share Huawei enjoys in Columbia, especially when more than 50% of our taxi drivers were using Huawei mobile phones, and the potential we see in AppGallery in gaining more clout, our decision to partner with Huawei was a natural one,” said Maritza Hernandez, Director of Technology, Taxi Libres.
The Taxi Libres App on AppGallery is enabled by five different HUAWEI Core and Capabilities Kits, optimising Huawei's unique hardware and software capabilities for an innovative experience – HUAWEI Account Kit, HUAWEI Analytics Kit, HUAWEI Push Kit, HUAWEI Maps Kit and HUAWEI Location Kit. A first in Columbia, the Taxi Libres App is integrated with Account Kit that is equipped with simple, secure, and quick sign-in and authorization functions. Huawei users who are logged into their Huawei account can directly and conveniently log in to the Taxi Libres App.

Huawei has launched HMS Core Services 4.0 which promises to bring efficient application development, rapid growth, and flexible monetization. Let's take a close look at HMS core services and see how they help developers.
Huawei Mobile Services Core (HMS) Development Forums
HMS Core Services 4.0 includes the following features:
Some of these services may seem familiar to you, as a number of them date back many years. Features like Account Kit have had time to mature and be polished with many updates. Other services like Location Kit and Analytics Kit and newer and have only been around since late 2019. The latest release of 4.0 includes ML Kit, Awareness Kit, Scan Kit, Nearby Service, as well as all the features shown in the graphic above. Huawei still plans on adding many more features in future updates.
So why would a developer want to choose HMS over GMS? HMS Core's service scope already encompasses most of the services in GMS Core. Huawei has also been a little bolder in exploring new terrain where GMS hasn't bothered to venture. For instance, with HUAWEI ML Kit, HMS Core is a step ahead of GMS Core in providing machine learning capabilities. Although Google has cutting-edge artificial intelligence capabilities, it has not yet added machine learning to GMS Core.
These are some of the ways that HMS 4.0 is helping developers, and offering an alternative solution to GSM.

Innovative Mobile Application Integration Technology Forum: Introduction to the HMS Ecosystem and HUAWEI AppGallery
Eunice Ng from the BD of the Malaysia Device Eco-development Dept began by introducing the concept of the HMS ecosystem and the development status of Huawei in Malaysia. To date, 90% of the top apps in Malaysia spanning nine categories, such as finance, e-commerce, travel, and media entertainment, have been released on HUAWEI AppGallery.
Innovative Mobile Application Integration Technology Forum: HMS Core Introduction and Enablement
Li Guoliang, DTSE owner of Asia, Africa, and Latin America, talked about the core capabilities of over 50 kits from HMS Core 5.0 in seven categories. By playing case videos, Mr Li demonstrated the app integration procedure and post-integration effect in different scenarios, fully proving the innovation value of HMS Core 5.0. He also introduced the HMS Core kits that are most popular among global developers and demonstrated the cross-platform, simple integration, and quick release capabilities provided by HMS Core. Developers expressed their willingness to know more about Location Kit, Push Kit, Scan Kit, Analytics Kit, ML Kit, and AR Engine.
MAMPU & HMS Core Integration Workshop
At the workshop in the afternoon, Tan Wei Cong, a DTSE from Malaysia, showcased the entire HMS Core integration procedure, from registration and verification, development preparation, HMS Core tool usage, and typical kit integration to app release. This was to attract more local developers in Malaysia to integrate their apps with HMS Core. More than 78% of developers attending this talk were interested in and willing to join the HMS ecosystem. Developers showed greater interest in innovative features provided by Location Kit, Push Kit, Scan Kit, Analytics Kit, ML Kit, and AR Engine, and 75% of them wanted to integrate with and test these kits.
At the end of the talk, the MAMPU & HMS Core integration competition was officially launched. We will follow the developers' integration progress and provide technical support when necessary.

Huawei Launches Discover the Huawei Mobile Services speech in Android Bangkok Conference

On December 20, “Thailand Android Developers Conference” was held in Bangkok as scheduled. At the event, Huawei Thailand Device Min Uswachoke was invited to attend the event as a guest. This presentation focuses on “Discovering the HMS”, attracting more than 200 developers.
This activity consists of four phases. After introducing the current development situation of Huawei Device in Thailand, Min demonstrated Huawei 1+8+N All-scenario intelligent ecosystem driven by mutually-reinforcing hardware and software to achieve seamless AI life.
The second phase of the activity focuses on on “onboarding and migrating technology”. The first phase is from the AppGallery. Among the more than 7.5 million Huawei smartphone users in Thailand, the monthly active users exceed 2.5 million and the number increases by about 21% each month. Then, Min demonstrated the steps of releasing the AppGallery to onsite developers, helping them quickly and efficiently get a preliminary and clear understanding of the AppGallery.
The last part, which is the most concerned of onsite developers, is related to the HMS Core. To create a new alternative HMS ecosystem, Huawei launches HMS Core, which provides a series of G+H solutions to cover more models. Min introduced the Ads Kit, IAP Kit, and ML Kit of HMS Core based on the most concerned fields of application developers in Thailand.
Monetization is a hot topic for mobile app developers. The HMS Core Ads Kit has multiple advertisement types, including Banner, Incentive Video, splash ads, rollout ads, which can be provided as higher revenue rate for app developers. After the HMS Core Ads Kit is integrated with Comico, the CPM grew by 50% from October to December.

In addition, with the popularization of online payment, the HMS Core IAP Kit has become a popular capability for developers to support Mainstream Payment. In Thailand, Free Fire, Lords Mobile, and Summers War have 30 M, 6 M, and 27 K downloads respectively. After the HMS Core IAP Kit is integrated, the revenue increases by 40%, 50%, and 70% respectively.
Finally, Min introduced the HMS Core ML Kit, which enables developers in different fields in the Text Recognition, Visual Search, and Visual Search fields to implement Wide Device Coverage and Global Coverage, core values such as Data Security and Customizable Training Model to bridge AI to Your App. In addition, the integration story of Huawei's partner developer "Banggood" demonstrates the great technical advantages that ML Kit brings to developers.
Through the introduction to Huawei AppGallery and HMS Core, developers present have a comprehensive understanding of Huawei ecosystem. After the event, most developers expressed their willingness to participate in subsequent activities and their expectation and willingness to introduce more capabilities of HMS Core.
