The oxygen os theme on the play store is pretty good that's what I've been using.

Try "Rain Theme LG V60", it's on the play store

Why can't the app get into smartworld yet. Is it a Verizon thing?

What app?

The Smartworld App. It says that my device is not supported yet. I wondered if it was for everyone with a V60

I'm also on Verizon. I was able to side load the app on my V30, and it worked fine, but so far can't get it to work on the V60. It always says "Service will be available for your phone model soon. Please check out lgworld.com."

And if you side load it on your Verizon variant check out your camera app, it will start to remove things like Cineshot and 360 panerama and stuff.

Oh boy,
I didn't think I'd end up posting here but here I am. I've got something coming soon. I got the S20 Ultra back in March and obviously its great and with that I decided to take a break from LG and give Samsung theming a whirl. I needed a break frim LG as it's all I've done for the past 4 or 5 years.
Anyway I missed LG so I picked up a velvet due to the cheap price and if all goes as planned I'll have a V60 tomorrow. I found one for a good price that I am hoping to get tomorrow and be back in business. I have a new theme about 90% complete so that's good. I should have it done by the weekend. But I also need to make a stand alone icon pack for the theme. The majority of any constructive feedback I receive is almost always geared towards the icons. A surprising amount of people like stock icons. So the theme will have stock icons an add-on icon pack will be made available. Both need to be released simultaneously though.

Looking forward to it!

Will i be able to get ICS without "Blur" but keep Smart Actions etc.

Hey everybody, im new to this forum i watched the video and its awesome great job
anyway im going to get a razr anytime now, its going to be my first android device(switching from iOS). my question is kinda in the title will i be able to get the plain, stock ICS without Motos skin over it? im thinking about a custom ROM or something(ive got no experience whatsoever regarding this topic) because Moto probably wont provide something like this. Plus i want the 2 apps smart actions and motocast. Will this be possible? i know that probably no one knows this as ICS is not released yet but maybe its been done before on previous versions and with other manufacturers skins?
Sorry if this is the wrong section but i thought id would be better to specify on a device section not the general q&a....
cheers

First, WELCOME TO THE LIGHT SIDE!
ROMs are amazing beasts, my friend. I feel that the official MOTO version of ICS will not be Vanilla, but there absolutely will be Vanilla ROMs available after (maybe before) it's release.
In my experience, with enough tweaking, you won't need to root (unless you plan on using root only apps). I haven't, and won't root this bad @ss mamajama after covering up Blur with Launcher Pro, and setting up my icon packs, widgets and whatnot.
Really it all depends on what you want to do/use. There will be many (maybe too many) options coming soon. Just a tip (from a recovering flashaholic), if you DO root, and flash a port ROM, be prepared for things not to work properly at first (if at all).
I don't think a vanilla ROM with Motorola apps will be available, but really, anything is possible, and if what you want isn't available, you can cook it up yourself!
Gotta love Android!
Edit: Almost forgot! If you DO switch, order your phone through Amazon (by the 28th)! They're selling it for $0. 01! I did, and got mine the next day at no extra charge.

It's for new accounts and new lines only, though, just FYI. The only condition is that you stay current on your bill for 6 months. Even if you don't, they charge $250, which is less than retail (with a 2 yr agreement).

hey thanks for the info, i guess ill just have to wait until motorola releases ics on the razr.
anyway thanks for pointing me at the amazon offer but ill be getting it without a contract so i dont think the amazon offer works

If you're going to be using this phone on a Verizon contract, it is most certainly worth it. $0.01 is far better than $299; you'll have an ETF no matter what if you cancel early. With Amazon, it's an additional $250 ETF if you cancel within the first six months. If you don't, there's no extra charge.
dont make you purchase on if you will be able to put stock ics on it, even with custom rom. Buy it for what it is. No one knows and no one will until it is out.
Pretty sure it's been confirmed a billion times that RAZR will get ICS... xD
yes i know its confirmed, but from motorolas side, meaning all with motoblur and all that stuff, just asking if there will be an unofficial version without motoblur. but well have to wait and see.

[Q] A good "first android phone"?

Jumping ship from iOS to come to Android but with all of the latest great Android phones out there, it's hard to choose which one to pick. I'm familiar with Android already so I know what to expect. The question is, which of the latest and greatest Android smartphones would make a good "first android phone" to really get a good feel of the Android OS.
Edit: Woops, forgot to mention my carrier. I can go with Sprint or T-Mobile.

Which carrier are you planning to use for service? As this will depend which phone you should look into. If you really want to get a good feeling for Android the Nexus 5 is an excellent choice (Not available on Verizon) with the fastest updates, pure AOSP Android and great development support if you want to get into customization. The Galaxy S4 is also a good choice (Available on all major US carriers) it runs Samsung's Touchwiz on top of regular Android, Touchwiz adds many of it's own features to stock Android. However it has slower updates then stock Android and not everyone likes Samsung's customizations. Let me know if you still have questions.

Yea, I have been looking into the Nexus 5 a lot. I actually already ordered it but with the 3 week backorder, I have time to cancel it and pick something else if I decide I like something better. Thanks for the advice.
I'm wondering, do you have a Nexus 5? Because I'm reading reviews about a "washed out" screen but I'm not sure what they meant by that exactly.
I'm thrilled with the LG G2. I spent the past couple of years on the Galaxy Nexus and I don't mind the additions to the UI that LG brings, including some great camera software and extra multi tasking options. The screen is arguably the best on the market, it comes with 32gb, tri band LTE capability, world phone functionality, a 13mp camera that is neck in neck with the iPhone in reviews, and it's only $99 with contract at Best Buy on all carriers. I believe you can get it online or in the store and get some kind of $50 gift certificate deal too.
Those that prefer pure Google Android can argue, but, like the Moto X, there really is no bloatware and LG adds functionality straight up Google doesn't have including better camera software. AND, in about a month it will have Kit Kat.
Totally worth a stop at Best Buy to play with it.

I don't personally have a Nexus 5 (I have a Verizon Galaxy S3), but in general reviews have been positive. What they mean by "washed out" is colors may not appear to be as sharp or vivid or blacks might not appear deep enough, keep in mind what appears "washed out" to someone may not be to another person as result this can be somewhat subjective.

[Q] Tablet Support for Themer

When can we expect to have tablet support?
Been waiting patiently but no eta's or status reports on how it's coming along.

Hi,
Unfortunately we can't give an exact ETA, as the list of features we still need to add and bugs we still need to fix on the mobile version are still quite significant. We can't say that tablet support will arrive in the next month, as problems will always arise. Currently, the developers are looking into how themes will be supported for tablets, as many people use both portrait and landscape mode, therefore themes will have to be changed accordingly.
So to answer your question, it's coming along, but it's impossible to say how long it will take. You will definitely see a tablet version before the end of the year though
OK thanks for replying.

Hi alldroid,
What features were you promised? Apologies for not advertising your prostate cancer themes, we can do it today if you'd like? Lost track of them at the office.
re cancer that would be fine m8,still waiting here for the continuous scroll on pages, icon resize and definately tablet support. It really bugs me when items are said to be weeks away rather than months and I would sooner as probably others would to be told it may take some time rather than an approximate time, may be me being picky but no offence was intended to the themer crew just frustration.

Yeah we've now moved onto saying that a feature will arrive soon, since it's impossible now to give exact ETAs. Icon resizing however will be the next major upgrade, however we can't say how long this will take. We'll speak to the devs again about continuous scrolling, and tablet support will arrive before the end of the year, that's all we know for now.

ZTE having second round of Nougut BETA testing

:crying: I just got this email to fill out to beta test Nougut.
Looks like we should get it on February or March.
Received email, completed survey. In a supreme cosmic coincidence, I got the email moments after picking up my Daydream VR. The universe is sending me a sign!
I think that they might be releasing Nougat without Daydream initially. If the new questionnaire is any indication because they asked a lot of questions about Daydream capability. Also, it takes, at least, 7 days to verify a rom with Google. So unless they already have a nougat rom cooked (maybe without daydream?), it's definitely slipping to February.
Paging @DrakenFX. I told you we won't be getting nougat
Truly disappointing. Glad that I sold my A7 today.
Yes, very disappointing if true! That nearly borders on false advertising, in fact. It would be a shame to buy a 'daydream ready' phone when in fact it is not daydream ready.

Eh...Long update. But at least the beta testing proves that they care about bug testing. THAT, I can get around.
At this rate, it seems like end of feb might be a possibility. I'm suspecting probably end of q1..

Yeah, Answered yes too. Hoping maybe they are looking for some rooted users to test updating from a rooted device or something. Ether way LOS looks like they will be releasing soon so not worried.
All you people complaining, wouldn't you rather wait longer for a bug free update? A lot of OEMs are having trouble with Nougat and if it takes them till March then so be it because I want MiFavor to be fixed.
All the people are complaining here, but hey Motorola also did this. The Moto Z Play was scheduled for Nougat update in December but latest updates point to a feb-march release. If you really want those updates so much buy a Pixel for twice the price.

Exactly. I don't get why people are acting like Nougat is the Holy Grail and they'll die if they don't get it.
Android has changed a lot. I remember the wait for Lollipop when the newest Android version was 4.x, and for a good reason: Lollipop changed a lot about Android, and I'd lay a claim that it changed more than the M->N update. I don't have a lot of hope that ZTE would give the Nougat on Axon 7 a top notch UI flow, but I do hope silly stuff get fixed (ie excessive background killing due to app battery consumption, big ugly "clear all" button that gets mistakenly pressed all the time). Daydream... I'm not sure. Depends on the headset and also more importantly, actual good games that get released on the platform.

I saw that story today, looked at the calendar and realized one big contributing factor: Chinese New Year is on Saturday. A billion people are currently taking trips to their home towns to celebrate for two weeks, then travel back to the city. Not much gets done for about three weeks around the holiday. Hopefully around the middle of February they'll be back to parse what the second round of beta testing brings up, in which case... maybe end of Feb, early March we'll get Nougat, if all goes smoothly.
I'm a little disappointed, but it's not a big deal for me. I'm pretty happy with the phone as is.

Just Purchased

So after months of debate I finally got round to purchasing my Oppo Find X. Sold my Note 9, although a great device, I'm a tech junkie and always looking to try the next. The X was always on my radar so I made my move.
In regards I'm not seeing any development, I'm guessing the bootloader is still unable to be unlocked? I will be getting the Chinese varient with Google apps installed (purchased from Wonda Mobile).
Any tips or reconditions ? I will be glad to hear of them and is Andromeda working? To get rid of the white?
Looking forward to delivery today of my new toy.....
Oh boy is the find X nice, the display is just superb, camera pop up is a joy, hopefully it lasts. The design is simply stunning :good:
Just wish twrp was available as the international rom would obviously be much better. Been a while now so not sure if it will ever come, but hopefully :good:
Adb allowed me to use Nova Launcher by default, which makes it more comfortable.
All in all a damn good purchase :good:
Glacier Blue looks niceeee.....:good:
I just ordered one as well to add to my vivo nex s. Im so ready to try it out. Unfortunately it is Chinese rom.

The Chinese Rom isn't great and colorOS as a whole really, my only gripe from the X as boy oh boy is it a beautiful device.
Now had they stuck something similar to Oxygen OS the phone would be complete.
Hopefully something will happen with fastboot, im on my 60 day wait to get in on the deep test, by then I suspect I won't be able to participate though
hey
i did the same from note 9
but i regret it doesnt look good for us as root and bootloader unlock doesnt seem promising
i have done all needed but when i query my application status in the depth test app it always says not submitted ?
real shame best looking phone but rubbish if you want to root it
I did the same then I went back to Note 9 within weeks.
Oppo find x is the most frustrating phone of 2018, so much potential but such a let down, mainly due to the software restrictions. Notification issues.
Could have been great but missed the basics of Samsung note 9. It actually made me appreciate Samsung phones more!
I feel exactly the same
If you feel good, then maybe you are using a global version.....
