Redmi 5 plus bought in china and brought to Europe; put a standard android - Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 / 5 Plus Questions & Answers

Hello, I'm a noob in modding a phone, but I want to try
Some years ago a friend of mine bought a redmi5plus in China and brought it in Europe; he put on it a global MIUI and registered it with a MI account.
Now he sold me his phone, and correctly disassociated it from his account.
What it would be nice to do is to remove the MIUI global, and put a stock android OS, like android 8.1 (with google apps), because I want to give it to my father, and he's a bit old, he learned the standard android and can't fit with the MIUI one (he still asks "where the hack is the menu button with all my apps?" and similar).
So, a pure OS, no MIUI, no non-google-basic apps.
Since I'm quite a noob (ok, I have a computer science degree but I've never touched a phone), could you please help me on learning how to do this?
(or if there's a guide on how to do that, what are the OS list i can mount on it, no problem, just link me)
edit: specs are:
- model: redmi 5 plus
- android version: 7.1.2 N2G47H
- MIUI version: MIUI global 9.2 | stabile 9.2.6.0(NEGMIEK)
- band base: 953_GEN_PACK-1.129634.1.131253.1
- kernel version: 3.18.31-perf-g439dbb6
Thanks!

First you must unlock the bootloader with waiting
https://en.miui.com/unlock/download_en.html
The unlock tool will tell u how long.
Then u need a recovery like
https://forum.xda-developers.com/re...t/recovery-orangefox-recovery-xiaomi-t4054193
This work for orangefox too
https://www.xda-developers.com/how-to-install-twrp/
After you flash over ADB, you must flash again the orangefox.zip in recovery.
And roms look in the right section
You can find many guides at xda

Thanks so much man, at least now I know the right steps to do!
Hope everything will be good, tomorrow I'll try.
p.s.: is it necessary orangefox or just TWRP is enough?

ah i see I think I need a lightweight one, because this phone will be used by my father
Do you think it's possible to install a standard android 8.1 ? does it exist as a rom?

No, but you can make miui that it look like stock with a theme and a customer launcher.
Maybe you can use the Xiaomi eu rom.
Google it. It's nice

mmm i had a look but i think i'll try evolutionX ( the one in this post: https://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note-5/development/evolution-x-4-4-redmi-5-plus-t4122467 )
is there a small guide on how to do the steps to install it? =)
Until now I just disassociated this phone from the old account (was my friend account who gave this phone to me) and I just looked into developer settings and i saw that is already unlocked (don't exactly know what does it means but is it, if there's some explanation of those things in some guide...)

ok, i tried to install it without success, the phone now goes in black screen and stays there.
I installed TWRP with
fastboot devices
fastboot flash recovery twrp.img
boot twrp.img
this step was ok, if i do it from a command line connecting my phone in fastboot mode to the pc, it starts.
then i went on "install" and installed the zip file
EvolutionX_4.5_vince-10.0-20200714-0943-OFFICIAL.zip
from here
https://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note-5/development/evolution-x-4-4-redmi-5-plus-t4122467
after that, i rebooted the redmi 5 plus and boom, black screen after some seconds of "mi" screen.
can anyone help me?

ok, i've managed it: i followed these guides: https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/general/how-to-fix-unable-to-mount-data-t3830897
now, I installed havocOS but I just realized there's no camera app. why? how can i do to have it?
edit: no wifi and no mobile connection!! without any of the roms I tried!
someone has any idea?

Flash orangefox, install the last global firmware, reboot to the recovery, format not wipe the data partition, reboot again and then your rom

the problem with no SIM and no WIFI was exactly the firmware. I didn't even know a phone had a firmware!!
Thanks!!
Now it works with EvolutionX; absolutely no chance of working with
- crDroid
- MSM Xtended
- coltOS
- resurrection remix
- HavocOS
with all of these it gives me a misterious "error 7" during install. Do you know what is this error?

Ok, i solved.
I was absolutely CERTAIN that the ROM I wanted to install was the one made for my redmi 5 plus,
(filename is Havoc-OS-v3.7-20200726-vince-Official-GApps.zip )
so what i did was
- I went to META-INF\com\google\android inside the zip file with winrar
- unzipped to desktop the updater-script file
- since my phone is TOTALLY EMPTY, i changed those lines:
* removed line
Code:
run_program("/tmp/install/bin/backuptool.sh", "backup", "/dev/block/bootdevice/by-name/system", "ext4");
* removed line
Code:
run_program("/tmp/install/bin/backuptool.sh", "restore", "/dev/block/bootdevice/by-name/system", "ext4");
* then, since I read a lot about that but no one ever posted the result, i tried changing this line
Code:
block_image_update("/dev/block/bootdevice/by-name/system", package_extract_file("system.transfer.list"), "system.new.dat.br", "system.patch.dat") ||
abort("E1001: Failed to update system image.");
with this line:
Code:
block_image_update("/dev/block/bootdevice/by-name/system", package_extract_file("system.transfer.list"), "system.new.dat.br", "system.patch.dat");
and i re-inserted this file draggin and droppin it in the winrar window, where the old file was; DO NOT CHANGE THE NAME OF THE ZIP or it will be thrown an error on the zip name;
- wiped system, dalvik, cache, data (if it gives some errors, reboot and retry; if still errors, i formatted data in ext2 then re-formatted in ext4 )
- installed the modded zip
everything went ok.
I am anyway really disappointed by this community, not a single help in 3 days, just "follow guides". Just thanks to joke19 who at least tried to help me giving me some basic info.

Guide for porting any of the 5c models or p9 lite roms onto your 5c

Hi all,
Just thought i share a little something i came across from playing about with the phone, I found you can flash any of the ROMs that the HiSilicon Kirin 650 chip set uses. Currently only two phones (5c and P9 lite)
First off you'll need the huawei update extractor http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2433454 and the ROM from the model of phone you want to flash.
Use the update extractor to extract the boot.img and system.img file from the update.app file, then just flash the files on you phone (fastboot flash boot boot.img and fastboot flash system system.img)
Currently im using a stripped down P9 lite VNS L31 B130 ROM with GAPPS on a honor 5c nem-ul10 chinese phone. Working pretty good, seems fast and smooth. Battery life is not better or worse. Everything seems to be working fine.
Post any questions and i'll try to answer
Cheers

Could you post the rom here..and does it support the fingerprint
How did you do that

First off you need fastboot tools installed and the Huawei Update Extractor downloaded http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2433454
Download b131 p9 lite rom http://update.hicloud.com:8180/TDS/data/files/p3/s15/G1164/g104/v53991/f1/full/update.zip. There is a later ROM for the p9 lite (b151) but the finger print sensor doesn't work with this ROM
Use the extractor to extract the boot.img and system.img files.
Use trwp to complete backup of phone to the micro SD card. Use trwp and select advanced wipe, wipe everything except the micro SD
Reboot to bootloader
Open command prompt from the folder you have extracted the boot and system images, type the following commands
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash system system.img
fastboot reboot
If you have the 5c chinese phone this rom is great, much more stock feel.
If like me you are having issues with the POB trwp, use the trwp made for the p9 lite
Any question let us know
Great, no questions now so far
Can I port a P9 Lite Rom to an european Honor 5c (without finger print sensor and NFC) ??

Not sure, don't have the european phone. Once you have a complete backup to revert to, you can't really do much harm testing
has anyone figured out, if this works for european copies of the phone as well?
and if yes, is there a chance to run the CM ROM from Meticulus?
i'd really love to see CM on my phone
Thx nice work

Yes, I've got the beta build of CM running on my european 5C - you need to follow the install instructions carefully, and there's a couple of extra steps for the 5C - you need to change the install script as described in this post to get it to install (this goes for the TWRP install too):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=69989870&postcount=225
Once you've booted up, to get the camera to work you need to follow the instructions in this post:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=69990309&postcount=226
I've added the camera fix to a boot script so that I don't need to do it after every reboot. Once you've done that the ROM is working brilliantly (though with the same small issues the P9-lite users are having).

Have tried the following from an adb shell, but the camera still doesn't work. It doesn't give the error about not been able to connect, it just hangs and displays nothing.
How did you go about adding the fix to the boot script?
Thanks
Paul
Here's the script I used, there may have been a typo in Meticulous' original:
#!/system/bin/sh
stop HwCamCfgSvr
HwCamCfgSvr hi6250 NEMO &
restart media
If you put those 4 lines in a file called:
/system/etc/init.d/99camerafix
Then make sure it's executable (chmod +x /system/etc/init.d/99camerafix) it should run on startup.

Cool, im using the app solid explorer to give the file permissions. I gave it 777, were i think it should be 775. Let me try again.
Just out of curiosity, did you dirty flash the CM over an earlier version? Just reading some of the posts over on the p9 forms. Users are reporting a smoother rom when dirty flashing
Thanks

No, beta was the first build I tried. Nice and smooth for me, except when night mode is on or occasionally when balanced battery mode is selected - but performance battery mode seems to have reasonable battery life so I'm using that for now.
solved problem already, had some troubles packing the zip together again (mac issues...)
it works fine on my phone now (including camera) thanks a lot for the help!
With a little help.... http://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-5c/help/dev-info-support-honor-5c-cm-13-builds-t3517159
Thanks @Liffeyman.
Gonna try installing ur twrp backup of the p9-lite rom (stripped down of bloat + xtra app goodies). My model is the honor 5c Nem-l51. It's the uk 2gb ram/16gb storage without fingerprint sensor. I realize yours was the Chinese model so I'll let u know how I get on and hopefully it works just as well . Like u says, as long u perform a backup, there should be nothing to worry about :fingers-crossed:
If all goes well with that....I might download the B151 rom and extract the boot&system images and flash them as per your instructions previously. Hopefully that build will be even more stable/fast and the fact that the fingerprint sensor does not work is no problem for me as the uk model has no such sensor ?
Will post the outcome of my efforts in the next few days....

Hi letschky,
Just installed this and looking around, so far so good
Whatsapp and the ability to add user accounts both working (both important to me).
I'll play around for a few days and report any bugs/issues if I find any.
Also no need to apologize for your bad English........ It's a hell of a lot better than my Austrian/German
Danke schoen mein freund.

Hi! For me your rom is a good rom! only please, its possible to reinsert a logo 3g 4g H+....? and...I forgot a question: i have uninstalled Yellow pages, the yellow pages are all in Chinese language and are useless. and i have uninstalled huawei home launcher because it's very invasive and i have installed nova launcher, the best for me. after this modify, for me this device is perfect, stable and very fast! excuse me for bad english but I don't know this language. I studied English twenty years ago for only 3 years at school .... help meeee
Nice ROM! But there are no Google apps installed. Also whatsapp notifications don't work. When i open Whatsapp i only get all the messagers. Did I do something wrong? On the first boot i had a screen with Chinese and the word GOOGLE in the middle.
I did have it freeze on me a couple of times and refuse to open a couple of games (Boom Beach and Clash of Clans).
I did a full factory reset on Sunday evening and have not as yet had any other problems, Whatsapp is working fine for me, also 3 different google accounts running fine on my phone too :good:
I also can't not open tradetracker, zanox and partners.webmasterplan links. Everytime i get error ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED
Oké i installed the rom again and now all the Google apps are installed. I think something went wrong on the first install. I'm going to test Whatsapp notifications now.
I still have problems with tradetracker, zanox, webmasterplan and linksynergy links. Everytime i get this error ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED on every browser (chrome, firefox ect.). Anyone know how to fix this? Because i use this for my work
I have the same problem ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED. Why? Whithout this problema rom is perfetto.

Whatsapp notifications also work now, no need to freeze phone manager anymore. Nice rom letschky!

Redmi Note 4 Snapdragon (Global) - OK to Root after update to 7.0?

Hello from Australia,
I recently purchased the Redmi Note 4 (Global) and absolutely love it! After owning iPhone for the last 8 yrs I am finding it very refreshing. I am looking forward to being part of this Android community
My questions is this - I am very keen on rooting the device but have also found that there is a pending update to 8.5.4.0 (Miui) and 7.0 (Nougat). Will I still be able to root it after I update and if so where is the best guide for me to do this?
Many thanks

yes, you can root it after updating to 7.0. First unlock bootloder. Install twrp recovery. and then flash SuperSu zip.
Note-Dont forget to flash lazyflasher-no-verify-opt zip after flashing twrp or you would go into bootloop.

Hello, and many thanks for your quick reply. Good, I had this guide that I was going to follow but then found out about my pending update:
EDIT - sorry, had to edit the url link as I'm a new user. h t t p ://en.miui.com/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=667496
Do you think this is the right steps for me to follow? also, I have never flashed or tweaked an Android phone so don't know how to do the flashing of lazyflasher-no-verify-opt zip. I don't see that in the steps. How exactly do I do that? Do you have a link?
Thank you.

steps given in the guide are almost correct.First unlock bootloader which is the biggest hassle in whole process. Probably you wont be able unlock bootloader in first few tries as mi unlock tool will probably stuck at 99% and show error "account not binded to device".You can wait a few days and try again but i dont think that will work. To solve this problem what i did was-
download miui developer rom version 7.2.16 link-http://bigota.d.miui.com/7.2.16/miui_HMNote4XGlobal_7.2.16_e6eed016d8_6.0.zip
Now go to updater app choose downloaded zip as update package. Now updater would start decrypting it and your phone will be updated to developer rom. Now when on developer rom go to updater app and there will be an ota for latest version, update. Now when on latest developer version try to unlock again using mi unlock tool. I dont know if it will work for you but it worked for me.
Now your bootloader is unlocked, go to mido section in xda forums and download twrp for redmi note 4. To flash twrp recovery, there are many ways. process given in your guide may also work. But what I did was downloaded "mini flasher" link-"https://forum.xda-developers.com/devdb/project/dl/?id=25193&task=get" install mini flasher.choose install twrp, browse to the recovery image you downloaded and it will automatically flash it and reboot your phone to recovery.
Now when your phone is in recovery mode coose 'install'
choose the lazyflasher zip file you earlier downloaded. now reboot. again go to recovery install SuperSu zip file(link given your guide) reboot. your phone will probably bootloop one time but dont worry it is fine. now when your phone reboots it is rooted.
Well I sucessfully updated the phone to Nougat and it was very easy.
Now I have tried to unlock the bootloader but keep getting this message:
您所在的IP申请次数超标
I have googled it and it says I have tried too many times from my IP address. But I haven't - this was the first time. I have tried 3 times, with the same result.
Does anyone know how to get around this problem?
Thanks
The nougat update eats to much ram I got only 1.3 GB free ram
You could try Miui 9 beta channel after miui 8.5 update without unlocking or rooting. Just had to download the miui 9 recovery rom package. Place it in folder named downloaded-rom. Backup your imp data before proceeding. Goto the updater app or settings about, tap three dot menu. Choose update and select the downloaded file. It will erase all your data and update to miui 9.
They release updates weekly. And battery backup is outstanding.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=73086754&postcount=124
Anyone able to help with this? I have read it is a common issue for it to incorrectly say you have had too many attempts but not really any conclusive answer as to how to get around the problem.
I am really keen on unlocking my bootloader. Thanks in advance.

[ Guide ] Successfully Rooted SM-T725 LTE

Dear All , this method maybe already here somewhere ,
i have tried to root this specific device and i ran into many issues !
but successfully i have done it .
i'll upload the patched file here and i'll mention what method i have done ! ..
unlock boot loader is a must . ( Please read about it in google , All Samsung devices is the same method )
u might repeat the process to times until it successfully unlocked and greyed-out !
Next download this firmware only to be able to run the patched AP .
un-tick Auto-reboot before flashing .
once flash done , power + Volume down to restart , then volume up with power until u boot into the recovery
wipe data . restart . done
to make sure u have done every thing correctly u'll see RED massage once u boot you're device
Firmware ( This is UAE Firmware " T725XXS1ATC5_T725OJM1ASJ3_XSG " ) All Languages included . Link
Patched AP File Link

No ! ..
Hi
Do I just need to use odin to flash the Firmware you mentioned then use ODIN again to flash the patched ap
I can just add that with this specific fw version and patched ap everything worked on LTE version but I might add my little deviations ...
1st original firmware flash (BL,AP,CP,CSC-non-home one) instantly followed by wipe data in recovery mode.
2nd After the initial setup + wifi connection I installed and updated magisk.
3rd "adb restart bootloader" (here i am not sure if it mattered but anyway) and flush again with the provided Patched AP File (BL,the_patched_AP,CSC - the home one this time ... using CP failed with modem err with me so I just skipped it here)
4th get trough the init setup again with wifi on and open magisk which will install more stuff.
The prerequisites still apply oem unlocked bootloader before you start and keep your battery at least 60-70% since the process drained mine a lot.
You know you are on the right track when you have warning with tablet bootloader is unlocked (at startup yellow) and tablet not running Samsung's official software (red after the first one)
Ive just bought this SM-T725 model android 11. There is no sign of OEM Unlock Bootloader under development. Does anyone know how I can unlock this.

The option only shows up when you are connected to the internet.
Thanks for reply mate, I got it figured. I also manage to get root and twrp recovery but not both at the same time. After flashing and using twrp recovery I then lose root after reboot and have to flash a patched magisk bundle over odin again. Bit inconvenient but I only intend using twrp now and then for backup/recovery.
Can you recommend a stable rom for this device - far too much google bloat on it for my liking. I tried latest lineage but found it unstable.

Just install LineageOS. Clean, no Bloat, everything smooth and you can have TWRP and Root/Magisk at the same time.
Depending on how much Google you want to have on your device, you might rather choose LOS+MG ( https://lineage.microg.org/) I can highly recommend it. You get rid of Google which debloats it even more and is a plus for your privacy but almost everything works (at leat for me. But migh depend on your needs)
If you like Google, just use normal LineageOS (https://lineageos.org) + GAPPS
Thanks for reply. Will try the LOS ROM later. Wish Google crap would disappear totally. I hate it enormously.
By the way which folder am I looking for on that LOS ROM download page
Ah gts4lv I presume

Recently switched to using MicroG Lineage. Timely enough, MicroG passes the SafetyNet now as per the instructions mentioned below and indicated in the attached screenshot. For the fingerprint, I had selected the T720 from the list.
https://www.reddit.com/r/MicroG/comments/shmpng
Along with Aurora store installed as a service, I think you don't need Google anymore.

I'm having some problem here:
I can install LineageOS, I can root/Magisk, I can have TWRP, but not all together at once.
Can you help me on how to do this?
Working on a SM-T725 of course, actually rooted, lineage and TWRP installed, but my Magisk can't install modules, it seems it doens't have root privileges.
Thanks in advance for your answer

[OUTDATED][GUIDE][CUSTOM ROM]Kali Nethunter installation

Only should work on Android 10 based ROMs
External wifi adapters need custom kernel compiling
I've suffered to get the Kali Nethunter working on custom ROMs
U need free storage available (not sure cuz I've formated data then installed and it's been a while but ig not less than 15 gbytes)
Here are the steps :
1.download the file from offensive security website
(Not sure if external links are allowed but here it is ) : https://www.offensive-security.com/kali-linux-nethunter-download/
(Just look for miui davinci file)
2.Download it and extract on whatever device u want the copy the extracted folder to the roo of the storage (of course not the "/" folder the "storage/emulated/0" one
3. Go into extractedFolder/data/app/
And make sure every app there is installed especially the nethunter.apk
4.copy the "kalifs-arm64-full.tar.xz" file to the root
"storage/emulated/0"
5.Open the Nethunter app and go into chroot manager and install chroot
5.Browse for the file location which you copied into the root "storage/emulated/0" and it will start installing it will take up too 10 to 15 minutes
6.You are done now but HID attacks aren't working
7.Go to USB arsenal and change "reset" into anything that has " hid" untill you see a successful toast message then save config to database
Done.
If it helped you hit the thanks button (your choice)
I'll be available asap if anyone has a question

Monitor mode works by default using the internal card
For external I don't have one to test it now
But I am sure it will work as long as it has a supported chip

Sorry I wish I was able to help
But the tag says [CUSTOM ROM]
SO I HAVE No Idea
Maybe try this
Don't flash any thing just follow the procedure listed above and It may work
Just don't flash anything
It won't work, cuz you need kernel for monitoring for example wifi - stock kernels can't put wlan1 (internal or external) wifi to monitor mode, so you won't be able to pentest routers

Are you trying to install Nethunter onto stock miui rom?
If so, take a look at
https://forums.kali.org/showthread.php?48308-Xiaomi-Mi-9t-Not-Work-Hid-Monitor-Bad-USB
This worked for me
I'm running full Nethunter on Mi9t stock MiUi Global 11.0.4 rooted with Magisk.zip (via TWRP) and everything just works like a charm. No problems capturing packets, injection support is doing fine and HID seems to work (never tested it but NH App shows its working)
All i had to do was root the Mi9t with Magisk (flashed the zip via TWRP), after checking that everything went well ive booted back into TWRP and flashed the nethunter-2020.2-pre3-davinci-miui-ten-kalifs-full.zip downloaded at https://www.offensive-security.com/kali-linux-nethunter-download/
After that i had to reflash Magisk.zip again (directly after flashing the nethunter.zip without rebooting the device!) and thats it.
As the pre-build images you get at offensive-security allready come with the tweaked kernel u need for injection and monitor mode, theres no need to flash a 'nethunter kernel' afterwards...it works 'out of the box'
Flashing another nethunter kernel afterwards will most probably result in a bootloop... (tried myself a few times with hasty nethunter kernel)
Ive only tried this with the officiall pre-built images on a stock MiUi ROM.
If you want to flash NH on a Costum ROM, you should probably go with the Guide from OP

hello, after so many tests they managed like this:
1. twrp orange fox
2.format and wipe
3.flash: fw "miui_DAVINCIGlobal_V11.0.5.0.QFJMIXM_aaab5b40c7_1 0.0.zip" flash "AOSiP-10-Quiche-davinci-20200526-gapps.zip" flash "Magisk-v19.3.zip" flash "Disable_Dm-Verity_ForceEncrypt_03.04.2020.zip"
4.reboot
5.inizializza and upgrade Magisk (download update Magisk to phone)
6.download Busybox module (Magisk)
7.poweroff
8.twrp flash "nethunter-2020.2-davinci-miui-ten-kalifs-full.zip" flash (Magisk downloaded to phone) flash "Disable_Dm-rity_ForceEncrypt_03.04.2020.zip"

Does Kali work with QFJEUXM 11.0.5?
By following the cited guide
https://forums.kali.org/showthread.php?48308-Xiaomi-Mi-9t-Not-Work-Hid-Monitor-Bad-USB
I don't see anything about:
- Format Data and wipe
Is it necessary?
-"AOSiP-10-Quiche-davinci-20200526-gapps.zip
Is it necessary to flash, maybe Kali breaks the stock built-in GApps?
-"Disable_Dm-rity_ForceEncrypt_03.04.2020.zip"
Is it also necessary to flash, Magisk cannot make it pass SafetyNet without?
Also, does installing Kali affect:
- Widevine L1 (dropping to L3)
- 4G/4G+ (by disabling some bands or carrier aggregation)?
One more question, what would be a procedure to go back to stock?
Manually updating to the stock Recovery/ZIP firmware from System update/Choose update package would be enough or flashing Fastboot/TGZ firmware by Mi Flash Tool will be needed?

Well, somewhere i've read that it should work with 11.0.5 too but dont remember where...would have to search for it again to provide a link to you...
- Format Data and wipe
Not sure if its necessary, but i did so. Its always a good thing to do before flashing any ROM.
Just try it without that step and you'll see...you can always reflash to stock if you get any errors, so just give it a shot mate
-"AOSiP-10-Quiche-davinci-20200526-gapps.zip
Nope, thats not necessary for sure. I'm using it with the stock built gapps and its working fine
-Disable_Dm-rity_ForceEncrypt_03.04.2020.zip
Thats pretty strange with that ForceEncrypt step, some say they had to others not. I did not flash it to be honest and everythings okay so far. But theres a Chance that you will have to! Maybe it belongs to which ROM you are using (global,eu,chinese) but cant tell for sure...
So this one you will have to figure out yourself, sry.
-4G and LTE is working good for me, so i'd say kali isnt affecting it
-About Widefine, well i dont know to be honest...im watching Prime and Sky Go on the Phone sometimes but for the Quality Prime just says 'optimal' and Sky Go 'HD'...it looks great for sure but i cant tell the exact Quality....if theres a way to check that, let me know and i'll be happy to do that for you
-One more question, what would be a procedure to go back to stock?
I would just do a wipe/format and flash the stock MiUI image or better, your backup via TWRP (or any other custom Recovery)
For me, Fastboot by MiFlashTool is always the last option. If nothing else works, Fastboot is a Livesaver but thats just 'my way' of doing it, there are probably many others who say otherwise!
Sometimes it needs a lot of testing to figure out the best way for your specific device, so always do a backup and flash a custom recovery before flashing Nethunter. That way, its always posible to get back to Stock if you encounter any bootloops/problems after the installation.
Its like always while playing around with any OS...if it wont work, you just have to "Try Harder"
Im happy to help anyway, if you got any more Questions just shout out mate

Thank you a lot for your answer.
Btw, few days ago I upgraded to QFJEUXM v11.0.6 (so no more 11.0.5), which is newer than the Kali pre-built image, but according to v11.0.6 Changelog only Security patch was updated
I'm still tempting to try Kali (currently having new official TWRP v3.4.0, Magisk Canary 20416 and Hasty kernel)...
You can check your Widevine Security level (still interested if you have L1) by

By going back to stock you said flashing MIUI. - so you mean flashing ZIP/Recovery firmware through TWRP?

By going back to stock you said flashing MIUI. - so you mean flashing ZIP/Recovery firmware through TWRP?

No problem, i'm happy to help wherever i can :good:
-Btw, few days ago I upgraded to QFJEUXM v11.0.6...
Yeah, im not surprised bout that...sorry for the late answer :/
Thank you for pointing out these two Apps mate!
I've checked my Widevine Security Level and both Apps showing Widefine L1 (Screenshots attached) so no downgrade after flashing Nethunter
Yes thats correct, to get back to stock you would have to flash the ZIP/Recovery firmware through TWRP.Only if that doesnt work you'd have to do it through Fastboot.
If you did a full backup (i.e. through TWRP) of your system before flashing Nethunter, you would be able to restore it by flashing the recovery, dtbo, boot and system images one by one through TWRP/Fastboot (not sure but i think it should be enough to just reflash the system.img, boot.img and dtbo.img to get your pre-Nethunter Setup/Specs back (English isnt my native Language so in case you dont get what im trying to explain...that means your stock 11.0.6 with TWRP v3.4.0, Magisk Canary 20416 and the Hasty kernel including all your Settings and Stuff)
You wouldnt have to flash a 'naked stock rom' if Nethunter doesnt work
If you're still not comfortable enough to install Nethunter onto your Device, just wait a few more Days.
I will try to get Nethunter running on the 11.0.6 ROM myself as soon as i have some more time! Will also try it with your Specs/Setup by then

Obviously you set the wrong Folder Name...just choose one of the three options from Screenshot 1!?
But to be honest, and i really dont want to offend you, if you couldnt figure that one out yourself you shouldnt install Nethunter at all...
@zgfg
Sorry mate, wasnt able to try it so far.....very busy at work atm! Will do the next few Days

Ok, I installed NetHunter zip image for Davinci over QFJEUXM v11.0.6.0 and re-rooted with Magisk Canary v20419.
Ran NetHunter app and chroot.
I think it looks ok - screenshots attached
Btw, tried yesterday Wifite to 'break' three WPA WLANs (Private, not Enterprise) for whom I actually know passwords - their passwords are weak like vesna1970 or 136923457
Wifite was running for two or three hours, trying Pixie-Dust, NULL PIN, PIN Attack, Handshake capture but eventually failed for all three connections
I will set up a WEP AP at home next week to test again, but who nowadays still uses WEP. Almost everybody would be using WPA, and with stronger passwords than above
If so, I doubt it is of big (educational) use and I am suspect about YT movies where they successfully break WPA in 30 minutes (or more)
Receiving a notification to update NetHunter from Installed 2020.2 to 2020.2?!
But the Update fails with Error -110 - on screenshots
Btw, I have successfully updated (couple of times) packages from NetHunter app, currently there is nothing to update there
Edit:
Fixed the NH app update notification: open NetHunter Store, Settings, Expert mode and untick Privilege Extention.
Let it update the NetHunter app
