Pocophone F 1 touch lag/delay - Xiaomi Poco F1 Questions & Answers

I come here to ask for help because I don't know what else to do. I tried all possible settings in order to decrease the delay / lag of the touch in games but unfortunately I was not able to solve the problem. I say this because I left behind an old xiaomi device, very old even an rn3(he was perfect but unfortunately he was 4 years old and had major problems with burn and battery addiction so for this reason i decided to change) that was serving me well for games and everyday things, his response was quick despite having much lower specifications of the pocophone f1. I'm not really able to play any games because of this delay and for me, I like to play moba and fps games, it really hindered the use of the cell phone because the touch response is much lower. Previously I thought it was a problem on the touch screen and if that is the problem I can make the switch. can any user of pocophone f1 games that needs a quick response from the touch screen
say what should i do?
I like to play PUBG, MOBILE LEGENDS, CHAMPIONS LEGION
I am using the latest MIUI and also the kernel.
my touch is nvt.

Thinking of purchasing Xiaomi MI Pad

Hello there,
I mainly want this tablet only for two purposes, one is browsing and another is watching movies.
But i just came to know that this tablet has an aspect ration of 4:3 and watching movies in this tablet will cause the movies to end up with two black spaces on either side.
Will this take away the experience of watching a movie? Other than from Browsing(which i'v heard this tablet is very good) my main usage is at watching Youtube videos and Movies.
Can any of you be kind enough to tell me about these and if this tablet is still good enough to purchase?
Regards,
Adi4u4882
I have this tablet. Its great. Had I known it would NEVER get updated to Android 5 or Android 6.. I would never have bought it. Dont be deceived by the updates it gets now. Those are just APP updates. Since it launched what about 2 years ago now its still on Android 4.4.4.
I would buy something else.. In the long run its worth it.
I have bought this tablet for my wife. Good thing was that i had few days for myself to test it. The big worry was that it will come all in China language and no Play store. As it turns out not to worry. There was English as default (even Polish was an option) and there was Google Play. All works superb. For this price its a bargain of the year. My wife use this tablet for imgur, google books and games so she is more then happy.
The only small problem... If you ever will want to do factory reset you need to have a google keyboard app ready. After FR there is no keyboard at all... so you cant connect to wifi and you have to have app on the sdcard.
Thats all from me.
For somebody who is not bother with the old software (kitkat) then this is a perfect tablet.

Hey, can you explain what you mean? As far i know, Miui 7 was released sometime now and its based on Lolipop. Its available for Mipad here-> http://en.miui.com/download-229.html
What he means is that MIUI 7 for MiPad is based on KitKat.
Ya for watching movies it is a little odd one. In case of YouTube it's fine
Then about KitKat OMDG PLZ its crap
Don't know whether you are a nerd or not..... Any way its been 2months iam using it and here is my verdict
Pros:
1. Blistering performance
2. Nvidia CPU and GPU are doing best for a hand
held device.
3. Gaming is a whole new level
4. LG battery is a true power source for long time and
charge up quickly
6. Display is decend under direct sunlight.
Cons:
1. selecting Bluetooth from multiple windows closes
most of the time.
2. Brightness sometimes have its own idea about
changing to full blast ( don't say that auto
brightness is on or off ,I know well about how it
works)
3. Background app has limit ( even developer option
only gives choosing between number limits and
standard limit)
4. Background apps stops most of the times ( even
the second one in background stops occasionally)
5. Connecting to internet via Bluetooth devices has its
own mind about disconnecting all the times.
6. Camera didn't work always, its not stock camera
app, all apps for camera won't work occasionally
which inturn points culprit as nasty hardware
problem
7. All keys on bezel (back, home, multiple window) are
not good in response which is an inconvenience .
(you can use many soft key apps instead which
iam using now)
8. Mi Ui is not good(awful) which always take quiet a
time to load up if we prefer to go home directly.
9. Screen shot appear as a widget not a combination
keys which is inconvenient and annoying many
times
10. Entire system some times ( once in
thousand) slows in terms of performance.
11. Quiet a lot of heat builds up on gaming.
12. Last not least....... OMDG plz get rid of the that
stupid KitKat OS plz plz plz.....

Ty for the post mate, i was thinking to buy the device but i was hoping that miui 7 is based on Lollipop (that apparently itsnot) and that the tablet could be a bit more solid. I will check for something else, take care
As far as device being stuck with KitKat -- are there any specific apps you wanted to run on the tablet and couldn't because they require the newer OS?
Without going the CM route, can the Google Launcher be installed on it?
Funny enough that my wife did want this tablet to be her candy crash saga device she couldnt install it from playstore. We had to download an older version and put the apk on the device and then i installed. Apart from that all the apps she is using on htc one (LP) she is using on MIPad

Global Stable Build only. AFAIK it will still be based on kitkat.
Have it since its release.
Its fantastic .
Great sound for movies and music.
Runs any game smoothly.
Browsing is effortlessly.
Nice is nice , not to big not to small.
Overall if you want a tablet that will just perform without hiccups then this is a good option.
eventhough this device has cm12.1 port but still its not for daily driver. xiaomi doesn't even release the sources.
I was really looking forward to buying this device keeping in mind the specs & pricing. Cant really decide if i should buy this Mipad or wait for the Mipad 2.
So far the the Mipad 2 only offers a mild upgrade in terms of processor (whose gaming performance I'm totally unsure of) & build quality. Infact the lack of expandable memory slot rather makes want to avoid waiting for the mipad 2.
Although Mipad is stuck on Kitkat, the fine Nvidia gpu makes sure it can run any game you throw at it with ease. The real question is with the lack of updates from xiaomi, how long will mipad continue to be a master amongst gaming tablets ?
Please suggest me if I should buy this device or if there is anything better in the market around this price range, considering this device is almost 2 years old now.
You know what, as the micro-USB charging port on my Teclast P70 started to malfunction less than a year of use in, I've grown more fond of the Type-C connector. While wherever MiPad 2 being an upgrade over MiPad in terms of the raw power is arguable, the Type-C connector and newer OS would sway me to by a MiPad 2.
Yes
I'm regret too. Better buy NVidia Shield Tab. :crying::crying:
Its Great
Its a great device for media consumption , browsing , watching movies and playing games but not so good in terms of multitasking as MIUI is quite heavy and it has only 2GB ram but it does all other things smoothly without issues ! In this price range , atleast i think this is the best

Simply put, NO. Nobody really mentions the overheat, the persistent lag throughout the UI, etc. I purchased this and the Redmi Note 2 together new and both have been a disaster. The Mi 3W was like the best thing in the world until the sim adapter ruined the sim pins. The Mi 4 was great although it overheated as well in Performance Mode, but performance wouldn't really drop because of the heat. The Mi Note was the love of my life until my son caused me to accidentally drop it two weeks after buying it.
Mi Pad? Terrible. It's nothing like MIUI on any other device. Heck, even the nice MIUI port for the Nexus 7 2012 and 2013 give those two LIFE. But this thing has been a disaster. The UI isn't smooth, not even browsing or typing. The heat? I mean I'm typing this all on it on Balanced Mode, brightness a little over half, no other apps running, no vibration, no sound and average room temp and it's already at 37.2° Celsius (98.96° Fahrenheit). Gaming? I think you can cook an egg on the back. It will throttle. Even ran the 3D Mark "Ice storm Unlimited" benchmark while hot a few days ago and it told me that the device was not at its best and should probably have some background apps closed or given time to cool down. Sure, not everyone wants to game on it even though the GPU was designed for that, but again, typing this up is giving it a bit of a struggle to keep its cool.
It is a beautiful device, and no device is perfect, but I really wouldn't recommend it. Thankfully the heat has not caused my battery to drain at the moment it is occurring (I have seen this with other devices I've owned), but heat + battery = problematic battery in a closer than expected future.
I really don't want to shart on your hopes, but when I read about it, it was a must have for me. Sadly, it was not what I expected.
*If its at a good price and SEALED NEW, sure go for it. But otherwise, big no.
IF IT IS A MI PAD 2, RESEARCH ISSUES FIRST.
Thanks for your candid response. Any potential Mi Pad *2* buyers may also want to consider the fact that Intel has recently decided to drop the entire Atom division (Mi Pad 2 is powered by Intel Atom X5-Z8500), so I wouldn't hold my breath for *any* Android updates for existing Atom-based products.
Has mi pad improved its software?
Its June 2016, has mi pad updates able to solve the heating and other issues till now or this is still a no buy?
Alternatively, is the cm-11 build stable enough for mi pad?
Cm11 is quite stable.
I use Cm11 and it'sfine overall. I get the occasional unexpected app closure but it's not an issue.
I use it for browsing, ebooks and youtube mainly.
Hope this helps.

Hardware acceleration problem or what?

Hi everybody, i've got a xiaomi redmi note 4 snapdragon 4/64 gb. Around 1 week ago has start to get slower in navigation, i've found lags in the settings menu and the whole phone is full of little lags never seened before, at the start has always had an impressive quickness. I was thinking that shoulded be the update to miui 9 done few days before, i've tried to downgrade, downloading the package from the miui website miui 8.5.8 snap and doing every necessary step (wiping) but nothing has changed. At the end i've remembered that the phone has falled from 40-50 cm one time, and the sim slot has pop out few millimeters from the case, but my note have a silicon cover and the sim slot has came back on its own place without problems. I've update again to miui 9 using ota, and casually playing a movie on vlc player the app has told me "hardware accelation rendering problem, switch to software rendering" before to start, and after the mkv movie was playing slowly and lagging. Then i ve downloaded 3d marks and here the surprise, with slingshot extreme test looks like a slowmotion movie with heavy lags, obviously not normal on a phone like this. I ve tried other gpu test and always the same response, with StabilyTest on cpu/gpu test goes slow with low details settings as well. Just to know, for few times has pop up with no reason the volume adjust and the google search in the meanwhile that i was watching a video, this happens for an half an hour and has never done it other times. What problem can be??? Can the hardware acceleration disabled for a problem in the update or after falling, and it is just working the software acceleration?? I was thinking to install a recovery mode and install another rom or flash the official rom just to see if the problem is hardware or software. The phone have the warranty. Please help me, or just explain me how this hardware/software acceleration works. Thanks a lot guys !!!

Update:Requesting Return For Poco F1 From Flipkart

So, My phone had touch issues I requested return from Flipkart, just like how novice these companies are they send useless engineers to test your phones:
i. I showed how bad the accuracy of the multitouch is, I need pixel-pixel precision but my unit didn't have it, it skips a lot of pixels and aiming in games is not accurate and many apps that use multitouch is behaving abnormally.
ii. Engineer didn't see this issue and said it's normal because he don't know how to play games like these, he was not an engineer but a mediater, he was taking orders instead of making his mind about the issue.
iii. While showing it to him, suddenly the phone got heated up and strange and loud static like sound was coming out of it.
iv. I had to make 2 videos to show them the problem and had to talk with them on the phone, at first they said that 3rd party apps always have issues I mean, all apps are verified by Google and million of players are playing pubg without any issue, why just me? Then I showed them other phones in the same or less price range MiA1, Honor 8, etc they all have weaker chipset but are very accurate to touch, he told me that please don't compare with other brands, he doesn't even know that MiA1 and Poco comes from same parent company.
After convincing him a lot and making videos in front of him, he at last acknowledged the issue and approved the replacement.
it's just your device i think. i know 7 poco f1 6/64 users. all are happy with it.
Update: yes issue is there but fix is very simple no need to panic see this
I did not face any problem playing pubg

Me too faced the issue of loud static noise from speaker and requested for replacement. Hope the new unit will be ok. As far as multi touch issue is concerned, I read its a software issue and will be fixed an update.
Yes, there is a issue with 3 finger screenshot, which is causing issues

Asking about Several Factors of Unresponsive touch when playing Games

Hello there participants and dev, I would like to ask some questions that I need to clarify since I am also using Pocophone f1.
So, while I was playing game emulator like FPSE or PPSSPP, I notice that the touch sensor seems to be weird. I mean I don't know if it is ghost touch or not. However, when I try to tap multiple times the button (Similar to mashing), sometimes some taps dont get response. It also sometimes that the touch was a bit laggy milliseconds. An experiment that I also try in Nokia 8 which the issue is not Happening in Nokia 8.
The games that can be clearly seen mostly is Tekken 3 in FPSE emulator (Although I also find this issue in PPSSPP playing GOW). Do note that I am using Jelly type screen protector and Stock casing that comes with the package product. As for Nokia 8, it is using Tempered Glass and quite a hard casing but is good for gripping when playing.
So, here's my questions:
1. Can the Jelly type screen protector affect the unresponsive or laggy response touch?
2. Is this a ghost touch that everyone was referring to when they have this phone?
3. Can I consider MIUI ROM is the main factor that causes this?
4. Flashing custom ROM like RR, Pixel Experience, LineageOS, will it solve the ghost touch or this issue? (This is because I noticed several comments in ROM Development mentioning that Ghost touch is not there).
Note: If participants haven't had the slightest idea what i mean, you may try playing games in FPSE or PPSSPP. It can be same games I am playing or not. I want to know if I am the only person who has this issue or not. I would like to solve this. Thank you.

I don't have a solution for you but If you wish to see if you have issues with touch try this app, are several youtube vids that show the issue on poco f1. Xiaomi have stated that they will fix it in future updates so according to xiaomi it's a system/software issue. Only time will tell if it's true or not.

OKay, no problem. To be honest, there is a ghost touch when testing your app recommendation. Omg, is it supposed to be related with the laggy touch?

1 No the screen protector should not impact much because we have a very sensitive responsive digitiser which could get annoying at times.
2 No this is not ghost touch issue but yeah we do have this issue.
3Miui ROM is not responsible for this latency problem we the touch driver /firmware is simply "buggy". So doesn't matter which ROM you use you will find this issue. Note: this is not linked with the very common "multi-touch" issue which came with 8.1 Oreo update.
4 Flashing custom ROMs should "generally" fix the Multi-touch bug but I have tried all the GSI ROMs and the latest device specific ROMs available for beryllium but none had the fix by default and I also made a flashale magisk module if you want to fix the 8.1 Oreo Multi-touch issue (this is not the latency issue which your experiencing).
Finally id like to say relating touch Poco has quite listed issues which should be the companies primary priority to fix it because that's the fist level of communication user has with the device. Another thing we have very few "actual" developers who can help fix this issues apart from vendor side.
(Edit: you might find slot of typing mistake because I have used POCO to reply. See the irony of post lol)

Thank you for answering my questions. Have you tested like what I did? Playing games in FPSE? I know you must have felt what I felt. The latency or whatever lagging response or sometimes unresponsive button in mashing section.
You may provide me whatever solutions or fix modules you have. I am glad to try it
I dont play FPS or PUBG in phone so It is not a problem actually. It is just playing in fpse or emulator does annoy me sometimes.

Help me move from iPhone 6s Plus

Good day and a happy new year. I am considering a switch from apple again and this is my target device. The things i need your help deciding are the below, in order of priority (for me) :
-Thermals. I have been switching between iphones and androids for many years. And so far all androids i owned (most samsung devices) tend to heat up even with the most normal of uses. My last switch from s7 edge to Iphone 6s Plus was purely due to that. You could feel the device back heating just from surfing on wifi indoors. Please advise how the S 9+ performs in this task.
-Camera . It is widely said that S 9+ camera does not handle motion at all . For example , shooting a person that moves or an animal, will surely result in a blurry photo. Just how bad is the situation ?
-Background applications resource usage . In my last experience with android (s7e 7.1) just about any application could run any way it wanted and hog resources/battery without any consent whatsoever. I get the benefits of multitasking but if the trade off is me losing control of what is going on i need to take it in consideration. Please advise how the S 9+ performs in this task (current android version it runs atm).
-Storage speed . iPhones over 6+ are using nvme type flash storage wich is stupid fast. I cannot find any nand benchmarks for the S 9+ exynos model. Any info on that? Also what type of nand does it use(very important for future proofing).
-Processor .I n my region the only S 9+ available is the one with exynos (EU). how does it perform compared to the snapdragon variant ?
-GPS . As you may have heard, iPhone GPS accuracy and lock speeds are out of this world. Is S 9+'s performance in this area satisfactory? (again for the exynos model).
- Any one here switched from iphone to S 9+ ? Maybe you could share something that you would consider useful to know beforehand ?
So sorry to hit you with that wall of text but for me €600+ for a phone is kind of a big deal (for my current financials). That is mostly why i had to rule out the XS Max in the first place (€1350+ where i live).
No takers?
I'm really happy with my S9+ since I have it.
Thermals: It really depends on the apps you are using. In the Internet Browser, E-Mail, Phone, WhatsApp, etc. the phone wont heat up. When you play heavy Games it will heat up a bit (~45°C), but I never managed it to overheat.
Camera: For almost every scene there is a mode (Night, Text, Sport, etc.). If you have time to take a picture you can use the Pro-Mode. There you can adjust everyting on the Camera (Brightness, Focus, ISO, etc.) Also the Pro-Mode saves two pictures, .jpg and raw-Picture (.dng).
Background apps: Again it depends on the app. You can block the background process or you enable it. But a foreground app has always priority.
Storage speed: I don't know which type it uses but when I copy Data at the Phone (not from the PC) I get ~300MB/s) If you copy Data from a PC, the USB Port will limit the speed at about ~120MB/s (depends on the PC)
Processor: I also have the Exynos and for me it's perfect
GPS: Perfect, locks in less than 2 seconds and consumes very less battery. (Don't forget to enable A-GPS > it's a hidden setting and by default it's turned off).
I hope, that this helps a bit. Sorry for my bad english.

I hope, that this helps a bit. Sorry for my bad english.

That was very very helpful ! Thank you mate! hope i can get the transition, smooth soon.
I have S9+,6s+ & XS Max with me.S9+ on latest pie.Screen wise S9+ is above all.Smoothness wise & Ease of using-iPhone.Like You can still use XS max with one hand ,Games & Apps There is night & day difference.
S9+ optimises battery by closing apps which you don't use regularly. Also If you disable some apps by package disbler pro the processor almost never heats.Even in heavy gaming its just gets warm
Camera is also good,It clicks pics instantly without blurring objects.Potrait Mode is trash
Gpu is trash,Face Unlock with iris also doesn't work always.Exynos Cpu is good can be compared to A11
If you can bear a 720p screen I would suggest go for XR or X.

Hello ! thanks for all the input ! TBH what i downright hated on my iphone 6s plus was the horrid screen resolution. downright bad by today's standards and XR is not changing that one bit. for my current financials the crazy €1.400 price tag for the XS max is off so it will probably be the s9+ . i can get that around €500.
Yes screen wise its clearly the winner, even better than XS Max,But for me overall experience is better on iPhone

Can you plz clarify how to enable A-GPS on s9+?
I'm using one for two month, phone doesn't get hot even in high load. Screen is out of world. But have some issues.. camera is not up to the mark & Samsung is one year behind form other Android OEM to push Android update..
I currently have a S9+ and an iPhone 8 Plus. I'm trying to decide which to use, and I'm conflicted.
The screen on the iPhone is fine, I have no great issues with it apart from the big chin. Resolution is fine, colour is fine. The flat screen is better than the S9+'s curved screen. Battery is better on the iPhone. No headphone jack sucks, I like to watch YouTube in bed for an hour or so in bed, and it's dead handy being able to plug in the S9+ to charge and use headphones at the same time, but then again the iPhone doesn't need charged so much. I don't like the iPhone's inability to sort icons, but that's not a deal breaker. Camera on the S9+ is a little better than the iPhone. Finally, on Android I can run YouTube Vanced which blocks ads and Samsung Internet has ad blocker - it's not so easy to do those things on iOS.
You Can Install Youtube++ or cercube on iOS for downloading, blocking ads & other features. You also need to install appeven to stop revokes.Dm me for any further help

There is a great tool for new Samsung Galaxy Android user, easily transfer data from iPhone to Samsung and manage everything on your Samsung Galaxy S9+.
