Data Issues - Xiaomi Black Shark 3 Pro Questions & Answers

Hello, I have just taken delivery of my new Black Shark 3 pro MBU-H0. It's a great phone, but for some reason I cannot get any data whatsoever on cricket. I've checked APNs, am on the latest global from what I can tell. Rooted and BL unlocked.
Anybody have any tips or anything? I double checked all the bands before purchase...
Edit: please delete this post, turns out Cricket is having issues right now in my area, and it just so happened to coincide with me switching phones LOL.
Sorry about that.

Orange unlock - on VR12 but now I can't use mobile data :(

Hi,
I bought an unlock code from htcsimunlock.com today as I wanted to temporarily use a Vodafone SIM in my SIM-locked Orange HTC Hero.
I switched the SIMs and entered the unlock code. All seemed to be fine (code was accepted) so I then switched back to my Orange SIM.
Unfortunately I'm now not able to use mobile data I've checked my APN settings and they are all still present and correct. I'm using:
- VillainROM 12
- Radio 63.18.55.06PU_6.35.15.14
I can still make/receive voice calls and send/receive SMS messages. Does anyone know why my mobile data would be dead? I've heard of these symptoms for people who are still using a stock Orange ROM, but I'm using VR12.
Is there any way I can reinstate the SIM lock?
Can anyone help? Particularly anyone who has successfully unlocked their Orange Hero??
I'm in the same boat.. I was under the impression it was something to do with the fact I was tethering non stop last night and Orange have done something, But I'm showing a data connection, I just can't use it.
I'm getting E-Mails occasionally, But nothing else.
Yeah, sorry I forgot to mention:
I see the 3G (and sometimes H) icon with both up and down arrows flashing occasionally, but nothing meaningful seems to be getting downloaded. Any apps that require a data connection just timeout and/or fail because of a lack of data transfer.
Don't worry it's orange! I have a friend with no mobile data too! They told him it should be fixed by Friday.
And it just happened to coincide with me sim-unlocking my phone and switching temporarily to a Vodafone sim? Sounds like one hell of a coincidence.
Anyone else on orange having this problem?

Maybe not. I do know that it is affecting a lot of users though. A quick search of Orange on twitter will confirm this. For you it could be a separate issue I guess?
Thanks very much for bringing this to my attention cambria83, fingers crossed it works itself out! :\
Thank You - It's been doing my head in all day this.
Same problem, switch to 2G and everything works fine.

same here. All day no 3G. Reformatted, wiped install 3 different ROM and same. DAMN! What a coincidence to test new ROM :-(.
LOL next time call orange before flashing again!most of the time its their problem unless you have flashed a new radio!
probably a stupid question but are the correct APNs in use?
Moved to Q&A as not Development
Apologies for posting in the wrong forum - completely forgot I was looking at the Development forum! Thanks for moving this pulser_g2.
Mobile data seemed to be fixed this morning I guess I was just really unlucky with the day I chose to buy an unlock code! Data connection is failing again this afternoon but this is almost certainly down to the Orange data network crapping out again.
Yup its down for me to, Orange are *immense*...
I also spent most of yesterday reflashing my backups and I thought I had broken it by playing around... Next time I think I will blame orange straight away.

Yeah, just blame orange
I'm glad I went tmobile, but a little birdie suggested this downtime could be part of the merging of the networks where something went wrong, but this might be wrong...

I have an unlocked S9+ originally from T-Mobile. WiFi Calling is gone.

OK, so I was with T-Mobile forever, and I bought this phone from them at launch. I decided to switch over to MetroPCS by T-Mobile because it's cheaper, so I paid off my phone then unlocked it (Even though I didn't need too, the Metro SIM worked in it before I unlocked it).
It worked fine for two weeks, and I had WiFi calling and everything, and then the RJ5 (I believe?) update came out, and when my phone booted up it said new sim detected, and WiFi calling was gone. My APN settings were set to MetroPCS', so I set it back to the T-Mobile one since it's essentially the same network, but the WiFi calling option is *completely* gone; it's not there, trust me. I call MetroPCS support and they said they can't enable it for devices that weren't bought from them, and I tried to argue like sure you can, send it up to a higher level support team, but I could hardly understand her and gave up.
I went into a MetroPCS store and they had a spare T-Mobile SIM, popped it in, boom WiFi calling was back.
Come OneUI Pie update one, I opt in and update, and voila, WiFi calling is back!
I just downloaded the second update last night, and now it's gone again. This **** is driving me crazy, if anyone can help me figure out a way to fix this I will love you forever.
Wow, that was a gripping good yarn! I think there's a good chance that if you switch to the unlocked G965U1 firmware, it might work. I have an unlocked Verizon S9+ running on TMO, and once I flashed it to U1, wifi calling and volte worked automatically. I'm not positive how it will be with Metro but it is worth looking into. When you flash the collect unlocked firmware, when the phone boots up it will detect your sim and then reboot and configure all the settings for you.
P.S. I don't suppose there's Metro firmware out there?
I don't think there's Metro firmware, because my updates still come from T-Mobile. T-Mobile owns Metro. So what you're saying is flash the firmware via Odin and my phone would be like truly unlocked and I would get updates from Samsung rather than T-Mobile? I don't want to go through all this if it isn't a a certain fix, but sadly there's no way to tell that.

For some carriers, the Wifi calling requires the phone to have carrier firmware. Verizon is one. I bought my 9+ from Samsung unlocked, and it didn't have wifi calling on Verizon until I reflashed the phone (using Patched ODIN) to a Verizon firmware and Wifi calling works... as does the Verizon bloat, but most of that can be disabled with Package Disabler pro or similar app.

I don't think MetroPCS has it's own firmware for the s9+. Plus, they're owned by T-Mobile now. The plan I'm on is called MetroPCS by T-Mobile lol. This is driving me nuts.

Out of curiosity I read around a little bit and it seems to be really hit and miss, which definitely seems to match up with your experience. I did find this post on Reddit from someone saying they got Wi-Fi calling to work with a Metro Sim: https://www.reddit.com/r/tmobile/co...g_volte_not_working_with_metropcs_sim/cymnvhf
Have you come across that, tried any of that?

I have not, thanks for the link, I shall try that. Funnily enough, there was a hotfix pushed out last night and WiFi calling not working was on that list. I now have the WiFi calling icon in the notification bar, and it shows like it's on, but it doesn't actually work, and me pressing it does nothing. The setting itself still isn't in connections or anywhere in the settings. This is so dumb, lol.

Question Network Issues

Hello, first I want to thank XDA and everyone here for all of the wonderful help that I've been given over the years silently because I've always came here if I had an issue and I haven't found one that hasn't been solved yet. So, sincerely I thank all of you. Now on to my problem. I have a OP Nord N200 5G bootloader unlocked on OOS 11 that is rooted running Orange Fox Recovery. But this problem existed before unlock, root and recovery. When I pull down the notification panel it says that I'm connected to the AT&T tower and I'm with Metro by T-mobile which sometimes it will say it's connected to Metro. When it's connected to AT&T it gets really slow, but I have service. I've done all the hard reset, network reset as well as called Metro like 6 times but nothing they've done has worked. I have been dealing with this issue from the day I've bought it and it needs fixing. Can anyone please help me with this issue? I want to thank you in advance for taking time to even read my request. Thank you. Below are screenshots showing my issue. Pics were taken literally while I was going over my post. Thanks.
Under Settings > Wi-Fi & Network > SIM & Network you can press Network Operators and toggle "Choose Automatically". It will allow you to select the carrier you want to latch onto manually. When you toggle this off, it will take anywhere from 2-5 minutes before you're presented with the list of carriers it finds. It's taken longer for me at times.
Thanks for your reply, but I've done all that already. Reset the network, flashed the stock rom and even restored a backup. I'm at a loss for this one and I've never even heard of this. I'm thinking that maybe if I install a custom rom like Lineage, it may run it on the right network the sim is on. Thank you again for your time and advice.
What do you see when you see a signal checker app? are you actually on AT&T? Maybe your in a fringe area and its roaming?

Xperia 1 J8810 not working in USA

Hi everyone. Last month, I bought a network unlocked Xperia 1 J8110 from a UK vendor for use here in the US. It arrived in excellent physical condition and is from a reputable seller with thousands of phone sales, so not just some random person. I checked behind them, and this phone is for sure network unlocked (see attachment) and from what I've read online, it should work in the US. I've owned plenty of UK phones from other brands and they worked fine here.
The trouble is, I have not been able to get this thing to work with any carrier! I’ve now tried Ultra Mobile (T-Mobile’s network), AT&T, and now US Mobile (Verizon’s network). When I plug in a SIM card, the phone recognizes it and reboots. However, after going through the activation process, I never get any 3G, 4G, or SMS functionality. This is ironic as I have Verizon and T-Mobile towers literally behind my house.
The furthest I got was with AT&T, which received the welcome SMS and showed full bars on network signal. However, the phone kept asking me to “Sign in to network” like it does with WiFi but there was no way to do that. This was after doing the full activation with AT&T, giving them my IMEI, receiving a phone number, a confirmation email and everything. With Ultra, I got the welcome SMS from them but was never able to send my own or do calls in either direction. With US Mobile, it does literally nothing. Wi-Fi and Bluetooth work fine, and I’ve checked for obvious stuff like airplane mode being on.
I then figured I’d see if maybe flashing a version of the J8170 firmware would help. I used NewFlasher to flash the “J8170_Customized US_55.2.E.0.165-R7C” as downloaded off of XperiFirm, which was successful. But it’s made no difference. The only issue I’ve seen others report online is that VoLTE might not work with international phones, but I can’t make calls or send texts period.
Can anybody think of what the root of this problem might be? I’ve tried to figure this out for myself, but I’ve reached a dead end in my searching online, maybe I’m just not choosing the correct keywords. Please let me know which other screenshots or other information is required and I’ll post them. I will be so thankful for any input at all. I appreciate it.

Question 5G/4G network issue - Find N2

Hello guys,
does anyone is experiencing issues with oppo find n2 with 4G/5G network ?
Actually, I got the phone and all was working fine but since a while the phone doesn't seem to have any coverage ...
I checked my sim card on another phone and its working pretty fine ...
any clues ? or hint to reset or choose a specific band ?
thanks !
Oppo find n2 working fine with 4g 5g on TMobile North East USA. Wonder if removing stock apps messed with something. Have you tried resetting to factory and testing again.
I am here in Toronto, Canada and using Telus(business) and Koodo(personal) For some reason, I get dual 5G standby even with Koodo. No issues at all.
I've got the Find N2 Flip, in the UK so not sure how relevant this is..... I'm having major issues with receiving SMS though, one minute it works, the next it doesn't for whole days. Or I'll have somebody send me a text, won't receive it, then starting from several hours later I'll receive that one text dozens of times over the course of the day and still keep getting it the next day. Seen a few Reddit posts about SMS issues. It's just a vague assumption but I feel like some of these Oppo phones just don't like the UK networks. The flip only went on sale here this month, so I'm hoping it gets fixed soon. It's an amazing phone, I wouldn't get rid of it even with this problem, but it is a major inconvenience when almost every single account I have everywhere has 2FA set up lol.
