Firestick 4K 6.2.7.3 Rom - Fire TV Android Development

Hi guys
Does anyone know where I can find either the factory Rom, or pre-rooted rom for the latest version 6.2.7.3?
Amazon have finally fixed a longstanding issue where playing back certain 1080i content would cause the firestick to lock up and require a reboot.
An Amazon dev has pointed out that it can take a few weeks for everyone to receive the update, which is done gradually to check for regressions which I can understand, but Im itching to get my hands on this firmware to test it out.
Any help is appreciated.
Cheers.

I thought it was the full rom, but it looks like you are right. It is too small to be the rom. Sorry about that.

Amazing news.
Been struggling with this issue since Initial release. I hope it works for my streams (Hotbird 13 Mediaset italian satellite channels. All of them literally crash my stick).

Nothing but positive feedback from users so far buddy.

Here's the factory version of 6.2.7.3 that I myself received on my 4K Stick:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/12VFlLHBfRGLRw7TjqEgkGEcObNdz32k0/view?usp=sharing
Rbox will release a new version of the prerooted image so it's a matter of time for that to be released. I prefer staying on 6.2.7.1 if modifying because of current issues with rw of the /system on stock images

Thanks,
Can you elaborate on what is exactly the system issue and how it affects the user experience?

Can you be more specific and describe what was the 1080i issue? I have 2 FireTV4K, one updated to 6.2.7.3, and the other is still on .7.1
I dont want to update the 7.1 to 7.3 because 7.3 breaks the launcher replacement.

In a nutshell, the issue was certain 1080i content would crash the stick...the content that caused it for me was virtually all Freeview or Freesat channels received OTA.
I've replaced the launcher on 6.2.7.3 ok. Im using Leanbackonfire.

how did you replace the launcher on 6.2.7.3 ? im assuming you have root then, right?

I'm considering doing root, just because I can't stand the amazon home launcher.

Hi I am from TVCatchup I think the Paranoid ROM mirrors the Android 4.2. OS and is not yet confirmed on TVCatchup as we didn't set the version numbers. We will be sorting this out this weekend, but we are also making updates to the APK whilst we have the chance. Hopefully we should be releasing it on Tuesday or Wednesday after testing, but it is already a day late so that might be pushed back a bit, but it will be sometime this week.

I get sound but no picture on all ICS/JB ROMS except ones based on "That ROM" with both of these apps.
So I guess its a driver/kernel issue
Edit: with TVcatchup I get error 0x8000000000

ril = radio interface layer. Its specific to each device/carrier. Without the proper ril (kernel level), no data. CM and most aosp use their own cooked up versions, which is why data is never the same on aosp builds. The source for rils is rarely released. Stock based roms will already have the proper ril files, unless its a port, but then they just patch it with the correct one. Stock rils won't work with aosp (incase you were about to ask)...

I've tried it myself and it works. RIL is Radio Interface Layer and is the communication link between ROM and radio. Like drivers for peripherals. Matching ril's can mean better signal as well as battery life. Bad ril's or ones that don't get set or initiated can prevent data.
I was told clearing cache gives the ril's time to start. They were losing data after every reboot. Liquid Smooth guys are hard at work on it. [emoji6]

Make sure you have the right TWRP. The camera won't work. You may download GApps, which supports Android 6.01, before you decide to install CM13.
MAKE A NANDROID BACKUP BEFORE YOU DO CLEAN FLASH THE CM13.ZIP.
You may need backup your data with 3rd party app, e.g. Titanium Backup Pro, to be able to restore to CM13. TWRP may not work as you would expect.

I don't recall anyone reporting that issue. There are numerous versions of cm13 out there. By more than one dev. My experience was better with some of the earlier builds. Feel free to state what app you are using for video and such as it will help. Development has someone slowed because CM may be close to a release themselves. Noone really knows at this point. Some recent changes in CM have caused me to stop trying. Probably another reason the rest have slowed. Feel free to try the camera fix and report back. Again its buggy but does work.

I just flashed the CM 13 Dec. 25 by SHM. The camera app i flashed works well. i took like 10 photos and the all saved. I think i will uninstall the camera app the came with the rom. The video issue normally happens with facebook videos, youtube videos, instagram videos and snapchat videos but it seems to be working now. The snapchat camera does work but it takes about 45 seconds for it to come up after switching between front and rear camera and freezes often. With the instagram camera, it worked the first time i opened the app but wont work after. After about 5 minutes of messing with everything, Every app including the one i flashed says that they cannot connect to the camera and that i should restart the device. hope this helps

Yep. Reboot solves it until it hangs again. It has been tested for a month or so now. Some had better results than others. The camera it flashes works decently. Its just a temp fix into kernel is patched.
Which dev do you think has the best build? and which build is it?
For those wondering about using large SD Cards with MM, if the Mate will read and write to it, it should work fine. I am using this card http://www.amazon.com/SanDisk-Ultra-200GB-Micro-SDSDQUAN-200G-G4A/dp/B00V62XBQQ and it seems to be working just fine so far. Just got it and moved my stuff over to it today. Its a 200GB card but when formatted by the phone it shows as 183GB which is more than enough for me. I got it when they were running a special on them for $80. Right now they have gone up some as of 12/29 at 11:06 pm the card is selling for $109 with free shipping. For those that want to transfer a lot of music and videos to your phone this might be the card for you.

There are only two developers that I Have found that are make MM ROMS for the Mate two and if you search for them on AFH you can find them. They are Dargu and SHM. I use the builds that Dargu makes because they seem to be updated more Regularly, but you might like the builds made by SHM. I would suggest trying each one and seeing which one you like best and sticking with it or just flash whichever one is the newest at the time. Its basically a personal choice that each person has to make.

Best to stick with root built into the ROM for now.
THANKS!
Sure appreciate the work on a MM rom. 10 years ago, I would have been right in the thick of it, flashing every
new one that came along, but, anymore these things are "just a phone" for me. I've been lucky with mine.
4.3 was stable, 5.1 is stable. The only issue I've had, is that on reboot, the launcher (nova) won't stick, but,
I don't turn it off or reboot but once in a blue moon.
I doubt if we'll see an official MM for the Mate2, but if a really stable one comes along, who knows, I might
give it a try. The camera MUST work for me, since I use it pretty much daily (work images for engineers).

That is incredibly stupid. It's like they didn't bother fixing the bigger more complex issues possibly that they're not competent enough to do so. Those issues being an encryption problem that occurred during beta testing where some beta testers that updated over OTA from nougat to Oreo were stuck at an "to start android, enter password (or pin)" and the only way out was to factory reset. If they didn't fix that, then they didn't fix the overheating and battery drain issues. Disappointed.

Agreed, releasing an update that removes features. If we wanted a ROM that didn't function 100%, then we might as well stay on custom ROMs. Better off doing so in some cases.
Seems this is only for those who don't know how or don't want to learn how to install custom ROMs on their phone.
I know that's pretty obvious, it's just a shame.
Removal of daydream would be a good trade if it did something like help improve battery life and performance. Both of these were already good enough on stock nougat though. Battery was terrible in the oreo beta from what everyone reported

I installed it from SD. Had to go buy one though because I never used one ...anyway...tried installing using ADB and that will NOT work. Installed just fine from SD. This is only my backup phone so I did not set it up completely to mirror my daily driver, but it looks good. The default launcher is OK. I regularly use Nova Prime. Everything I tried worked great. I do not use Daydream or anything like that so no loss for me.

I do not use Daydream or anything like that so no loss for me.

They seemed to have removed the really cool interactive photo feature from the camera and gallery app. That really sucks, it was really cool and I took some really cool shots with it at a concert back in March during the beta. Since that feature was removed those pictures aren't working anymore

I'm sorry, but this long and we get that? This indeed has left a bitter taste in my mouth.

Android Pie OTA rolling out for z2 play

Android p rolling out in Brazil. Expected to receive in India from next week.
OMG Yeah, i don't need to sell my moto
First impressions ? Is it better ? Or worse than before ? Maybe some clear improvements ?
Could someone capture a download link?
So two days passed, and no news?

A download link would be nice indeed.
I got my moto z2 play from online retailer and its update channel is "retcn". anybody knows if this channel will receive the update as well or not?
Even the experience report would be a thing. That will mean the firmware indeed exists.

retcn this China, very slowly updates
Just out of curiosity, is it possible to change the update channel to something like reteu or even flash a different channel's update to a device with retcn?

My device was oreu and once I flashed retus on it and everything worked, though this might not help you to get faster updates and of course it also means that you have to unlock the bootloader which later might cause OTA updates to fail to install even if you manage to download them.
Cool. Week that's at least a good news as it's possible to do that. What that Pie's image by any chance?

Unfortunately it was not Pie rom, it was Oreo. There is no pie rom except for GSI roms. Hopefully someone who got the recent Pie update in Brasil will post the rom or capture a download link, then we could flash it in a similar way.
Is the rom 64-bit?
