[Q] lost buttery smoothness after updating to 4.2.1

I m using stock 4.2.1 on a116. Fps reading on mutlitasking window, scrolling images, zooming in/ out and in the stock launcher is restricted to less than 65 which is not so very smooth ( at times its 50~ too). So i used tsf shell where fps readings on home scrolling and other launcher related activities reaches 78, but yet on the above mentioned activities it still laggy. Can i bring back the buttery smooth experience to the entire phone?

Awful scrolling in certain apps?

I already know about the latency when scrolling on the Honor 9, but in certain apps, like the Reddit Official App, i get some extremely choppy scrolling, theres full 1 second delays when im scrolling througth my feed which makes for an awful experience, is it just my phone or does anyone else have this problem? Is this still present in the Oreo build? Thanks!
I believe there is a software bug related to scrolling:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-9/help/scrolling-delay-t3665877
I got my honor 9 last week and i noticed similar effects. Some apps are okay, others are very laggy with arbitrary stops or stuttering while scrolling.
I believe it's a little worse if apps use these card-layouts instead of single lists. Anyway, in summary scrolling has a little delay and ist kind of laggy.
Until now i hope they will fix this by an update . It's not that bad, that i would return this phone.
It's because of the app that's not well optimised

34.4.A.0.252 latest nougat vs latest oreo 34.4.A.2.118

Which is better.. I know 252 is the best and Sony made latest oreo good too.. But which is the best one for now that we all know that oreo is optimized for X..
My opinion is Nougat ??*
Xposed not working on Oreo
34.4.A.0.252 - the final rom on Nougat 7.1 - where
-screen tint & font edges arent very eye soothing
- amazing performance, response touch, can handle heavy social apps
- poor battery life
34.4.A.2.118 - sept 2018 build on OREO
- smooth screen fonts (clear type) & screen tint soothing to eyes
- nightlight can be activated (if boot is unlocked)
- user friendly interface which you instantly like
- makes X heats up alot and here the problem starts, All apps starts hanging.
- cannot support heavy apps like full version of fb & messenger and snapchat simultaneously
- poor ram management - recent apps always reloads whenever you flip thru windows...
- GOOD BATTERY LIFE
Snapchat works fine on oreo.. And it doesn't heat up that much.. Only performance reduce is ram management

Scrolling: Android vs IOS

What do you think about Scrolling on Android?
I copy and paste that interesting post from here:
https://www.reddit.com/r/Android/co..._source=amp&utm_medium=&utm_content=post_body
My question Is: It's possible, to tweak scrolling values? When yes, how could you modify it on Android?

Original Post:
...I am generally very happy with Android's scrolling. I like medium to fast scrolling on Android more than iOS (iOS limits the speed to let things load and keep things smooth), it feels more responsive and when you flick it, you get the speed you expect.
But when it comes to slow scrolling (this is when you're focused and are looking for something) iOS has a small tweak that makes it very satisfying to scroll. And this tweak is with the inertia. On iOS, when you make a small flick, the screen keeps scrolling, it creates a feeling of whatever you're scrolling is "on ice" or like a cube of butter on a smooth hot pan, it keeps moving. This produces a very nice effect. On Android on the other hand, when you make a small flick, the screen stops immediately like there is too much friction underneath. It does not feel as "airy" and "slippery".
I've made a comparison video to highlight the difference:

It would be awesome if Google tweaked slow scrolling to be more like iOS and left fast scrolling as it is. I think it would create a better experience.

Chrome scrolling lag

Hi, I have a problem with scrolling long pages in Chrome (or any other Chromium bases browser) I've read about similar issues some time ago, but didn't find a solution.
I have Android 11 Pixel Experience custom rom and already tried these (with no effect)
- Set Window animation scale to OFF
- Set Transition animation scale to OFF
- Set Animator duration scale to 1x
- Increased pointer speed
Is there anything I can do about that? Any help will be appreciated
I have experienced this lag since long. My primary browser is Kiwi but I also use Chrome and Samsung Browser. The lag is especially noticeable in image heavy webpages like Amazon or news websites where the FPS can drop to below 50. Otherwise it's mostly in the 54-58 range and is reasonably smooth. Soul Browser is consistently the smoothest in my experience but I need extensions support so Kiwi it is. Changing the CPU and GPU governor to performance has no effect. I have exclusively used crDroid so far. I have heard CAF-based ROMs can be smoother...
