MAIN CREDITS:
bountyman334 Person who created the base MOD
Features:
Absolutely the same as MMXIX but with a few extras and minuses
Minuses: None As of now
Extras: Super battery-saving now works for people who didn't have it before
I have made more tweaks to The qcom.init.post_boot.sh for a slightly better experience
Download Link
https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1JYObANah4nVGApJNFMDjavIZJwvsKAH3?usp=sharing
How to install
Download the H990DS file (Only file as of know) and boot into twrp and flash the file that's it.....
Enjoy!!
How do I update between versions
You could just go to the folder of the version you are in and check the patches folder and see for new patches if patch says PI and a number in front you have to flash the patch of that number
Code:
Example:
Patch for build.prop PI 2 this means to install this patch it is recommended to install patch number 2 with it ,If it says PIC it is compulsory as bugs maybe caused if older patch is not installed
Can I make one Mod based on this one
Yes but just credit me that's it
Exact Changes I have done from Mod-Stock-Enhancer MMXIX
Changed the qcom.post_boot a little bit more for a slightly snappier experience will be realeasing a patch for it as more modifications are being done and tested.
Made Super Battery Saver to work on mostly all devices as sometimes it dosent work properly(Not sure why but sometimes it does for me).
Fixed the Desktop not properly mounting to phone problem
Fixed all problems with LGMediaProvider
Mine does not remove the LG Bootanimation (Yes it takes a little bit longer to boot)

Could you please share the link to the right one, or a few details about the advantages of this one?

Edit: I have already told that V6 hasn't been released for the H990DS or SS (Dual sim ) yet

Camera app closes after switching to Modes. So I updated camera app. Now slow motion preview isn't working, panorama also not working.

I do know of this bug and I have tested a camera app patch based on g7 camera
Edit: I didn't do the G7 app as I noticed that the v30 app has more features

New patch released
This patch fixes the unusable camera app (Don't actually know why that happens) and also updates the camera app to that of the V30 the features that don't properly work are mainly due to hardware restrictions. Also a new build.prop was put with the patch this is just to add the line that clarifies the fact that the Patch has been successfully flashed (But you can check that by just checking if the camera app works )
Edit: Heres the link for direct download https://drive.google.com/file/d/1UH3jXrEzVOXEVKkXIH3_CsNs9dva6u5A/view?usp=sharing

The slow-motion preview is something I will ahve to look more in-depth to but the new patch fixes everything other than the Slomotion. You can take slomotion by going to video

Hi, is there any possibility of having a flashable only with the hdr10/dolby vison related files? Curious to see how the screen would behave as it has good brightness around 600nits if I'm not mistaken. And would be an ideal candidate for HDR content. H990ds user here...

[ROM][JB][MIUI4.1][GSM][SUSPENDED] Turbo MIUI v0.52.20914 (MIUI 2.9.14 on CM10)

Development suspended until (if) CM10 gets to a faster and stable state. If you want a fast, fully working new MIUI experience, check out my other ROM.

Here is an alpha release of MIUI4.1 based on CM10 for the Xperia Play. It is built upon CM10-FXP137 and MIUI Jellybean for the Nexus S.
I am using this ROM as a daily driver now and it seems to be very stable. But since CM10 is still alpha, there may be some bugs still. Future updates may also require a factory reset, so be aware of that.
A CDMA version will come soon, as soon as CM10 is confirmed working on R800x I will work on it for MIUI.
Make sure you read the blue section "Special Notes/Partially working" below before using! It contains very important existing issues and work-arounds.
Working (tested):
Calls / Text / 3G / Data
Audio
Wifi
Camera
ALS / Auto-brightness
Web Browser (from MIUI 2.8.24)
Google Play Store (fully)
Google Now (no Voice Search)
Music/Gallery/Screenshot feature (Menu+VolDown)
Location/Maps/Compass
Gamepad
Touchpads (On most games, thanks to farenheith)
If you find a game that still doesn't have working touchpads, report it in farenheith's thread. Known games reported still not working:
- Dead Space
Not working:
Torch (unknown issue)
Wifi Tether (CM10 issue)
?
Partially working/special notes:
After call is ended, audio is not routed back to loudspeaker. Sounds will be very quiet! You need to either replug headphones or reboot the phone to fix it... sadly this is a CM10 issue and I can't fix it.
In Notification Panel, the Clear/Options button in top-right corner goes off the screen. Change font-size to "Small" (in Settings > Display) to fix this for now.
Google Play Store might not show installed apps or purchased apps after signing in for the first time. Simply 'Clear Data' for Google Play Store to fix it.
When screen is off, VolUp does nothing and holding either Vol button will only skip music tracks forward
?

No, this is my own work. If I got it from that guy I would have given credit to him.
EDIT: He probably used my own research. Unlike most XDA "developers", I like to share what I know with the community. Or maybe he is actually one of the few skilled hackers on here and also did it himself like me.

Sure, why wouldn't it? Unless you mean the CM10 bug where it says "Unable to install to internal USB or memory card" when you try to install paid apps from the Play Store, no. That is a CM10 bug. But restoring everything from TB works fine, and installing free apps/updates from Play Store works fine.

Awesome, I know pax will update once he's able to and eventually fxp will figure out data as well.
Going kinda off-topic with this so let me know if you'd rather not discuss it here but, do you build your kernel with ics sources modified for JB or from fxp's jb sources?

The kernel I'm building from is branched off JBX repo (on the 'jellybean-turbo' branch), however I did a full tree comparison and the FXP CM10 jellybean kernel is identical to the JBX one - apart from the zRAM update from FXP (Google snappy compression) which I have already merged in CM9 turbo kernel. The RAMDisk is based on FXP RAMDisk.

The full SemcRIL code for this ROM is taken directly from CM10, along with BaseCommands and PhoneFactory. It was actually a requirement to get it booting. Using my existing scripts but replacing the CM10 base for CDMA version, and the MIUI base for the CDMA Galaxy Nexus version, it should hopefully be enough....
...I would upload my "kitchen" so people can try to build it and bugtest, but how many of you guys with CDMA zeus's are good with smali? Also it requires Windows Vista/7.

Of what? MIUI or CM10? Check the JBX thread for CM10 working CDMA. Wait, cj posted the link a few posts back to a CM10 for zeusc with working data.
Sorry to hijack cosmic,
My guess as to why CM10 data stopped working for CDMA is because of a commit done a while back (August 5th)
Now that I have a working PC i'm gonna try to undo that & see if that's the issue & if it is, I need to coordinate with FXP to create a ril for cdma & edit some common files

That's fine, it's is still relevant since it's based on CM10. So is that build linked a while back working with CDMA fully or not? I will probably not update the GSM ROM of this until next FXP release anyway so.... yeah.
It would be good if FXP CM10 had CDMA working, because then I could easily create a patch for this GSM ROM. I really don't want to have to upload two full ROM's every time.

This is awesome man! So tiny! Would be awesome to build MIUI5 on this little baby! Any plans for a GSM version eventually? I'm sure a GSM version would build fine, if not then we could just try using the ril-related libs from CM10
Great! Congrats on this ROM, hope to see some GSM for later releases! good to see more love coming to our beloved XPlays!
I can try porting GSM version...
Wouldn't it be better to help cj's source builds? Splitting/kanging the project is not the best idea.

If want to sure, but like Dan said it might be easier for me since I just need to change from Zeusc to Zeus. Let me know if you really want to otherwise I'll probably be putting up a version for gsm users.

Next build has the mirror issue fixed and it does not need the lagfix zip. I'm still working on the kernel, just cause recovery is still broken on it.
Good luck with the kernel thing, I got no idea lol...
Maybe a GSM port wouldn't be so bad. Since I would like to make an MIUI5 based on this, if we can just replace libs and/or hack the framework smali to use GSM, that would make MIUI5 easier to support both CDMA and GSM.
Or even if, when you get around to it - build one GSM version and if I find the differences in framework and libs myself then you wouldn't have to worry about building twice every time. For once it'll be a ROM which is CDMA built and needs a GSM Patch instead of the other way around
I use cm10 sources for the kernel maybe that will have a better outcome.

Noticed after I posted, hoping to include wedges' camera fix as well if I can figure out recovery. Probably work on it this weekend.
Sounds good I'm actually waiting for the next release before I decide to download and try it out. I was waiting for milestone 1 for aokp.. I haven't tried pacman.. I plan on using this one

Heya bro I finally got a chance to try this out, awesome sauce really. I built my own kernel based on KRsH (same as the MIUI Oz ROM) and manually updated genlock/fb code for Jellybean, super fast! But I had a few issues with the ROM, kept failing on buffer locks and falling back to software rendering (whenever you scroll). Here's the log:
Code:
?: E/libgenlock(462): perform_lock_unlock_operation: GENLOCK_IOC_DREADLOCK failed (lockType0x1,err=Connection timed out fd=51)
?: W/Adreno200-EGLSUB(462): <GetBackBuffer:2121>: genlock_lock_buffer GENLOCK_WRITE_LOCK failed
?: W/Adreno200-ES20(462): <gl2_surface_swap:43>: GL_OUT_OF_MEMORY
?: W/Adreno200-EGL(462): <qeglDrvAPI_eglSwapBuffers:3477>: EGL_BAD_ALLOC
?: W/HardwareRenderer(462): EGL error: EGL_BAD_ALLOC
?: W/HardwareRenderer(462): Mountain View, we've had a problem here. Switching back to software rendering.
And I solved it by using all these files from latest CM10 ROM:
Code:
lib\libgenlock.so
lib\libGLESv1_CM.so
lib\libGLESv2.so
lib\libGLES_trace.so
lib\egl\egl.cfg
lib\egl\eglsubAndroid.so
lib\egl\libEGL_adreno200.so
lib\egl\libGLESv1_CM_adreno200.so
lib\egl\libGLESv2S3D_adreno200.so
lib\egl\libGLESv2_adreno200.so
lib\egl\libGLES_android.so
lib\egl\libq3dtools_adreno200.so
lib\hw\audio.a2dp.default.so
lib\hw\audio.primary.default.so
lib\hw\audio.primary.msm7x30.so
lib\hw\audio_policy.default.so
lib\hw\audio_policy.msm7x30.so
lib\hw\camera.semc.so
lib\hw\copybit.msm7x30.so
lib\hw\gps.goldfish.so
lib\hw\gps.semc.so
lib\hw\gralloc.default.so
lib\hw\gralloc.msm7x30.so
lib\hw\hwcomposer.msm7x30.so
lib\hw\keystore.default.so
lib\hw\lights.semc.so
lib\hw\local_time.default.so
lib\hw\power.default.so
lib\hw\sensors.default.so
lib\hw\sensors.goldfish.so
And now it's ultra-smooth and fast. I did not flash the lagfix by the way.
Anyway, if you want to look at my kernel i just pushed the last changes to my GitHub - under KRsH repo, jellybean branch. Remember that this is NOT a CM10 kernel! It is based on my KRsH-based stock ICS kernel with Jellybean updates it also has a ramdisk in there too with my own minor mods. Another thing to note is that it has 280MB on system and 8MB on cache and the ramdisk will symlink /cache/dalvik-cache to /data/dalvik-cache. So a full format/FTF flash will be required if you don't remove the mtdparts from kernel commandline.
Cheers! Now to start working on MIUI5....
Sounds awesome! I have a break between my classes maybe i can futx with it.
Sent from my Xperia Play
that's weird that you had the issue with the failing buffer locks. the first build has that issue which is why I added the lagfix, but I build with cm's hardware and I couldn't get what was causing it.
Here's the next beta build. It doesn't need the lagfix from aokp any more and I'm pretty sure the frame buffer issue was something from slimbean and I believe they fixed it.

I'll be editing the 2nd post so it has the downloads and maybe clean up the OP Friday or Saturday.

I'm trying to build a kernel from his sources if that's what you mean. Between cm10's hardware and slimbean'srecent update those errors should be gone. Also for whatever reason slimbean likes the older GB music player, I don't so apollo, Trebuchet, and cm10's new file manager will be included in the next build.
Hey cj do you think you can add the Xperia s or another keyboard instead of the crappy small default jb/ics one?

[Patch] XDM (GB) Circle button Fix

well to get straight to the point here's a quick patch for those that are having issues with the circle button acting as back button. This patch is also known as the ALT Modifier fix. Also added, the R button should be to take a picture ONLY when in camera mode! it will NOT call the camera app.
I think this patch may be already out their I think for ICS this one is for GB. I have only tested this on Stock based & turbo miui GE ROMS but i think it should work on CM based as well (if someone can confirm that will be nice) download the flashable ZIP file in the attachments. I also maid my installer look a little better
great work.:good:

it might work on ics+ but im not entirely sure, that would depend on how much code has been changed and also i dont think this zip is KK flashable. I also dont have a play anymore to test it, unfortunately all i can say is make sure to do ful backup and try flashing it.

The exact SOT from 100 - 0 is not recorded.
I am testing it on the 2nd date. Not much drain so far. It is better than stock v20c I think.
Screen off time is quit well (1-2 % overnight).
(I disabled the fast dormancy)

Regarding the heat, I had used CTT mod when I was using CamUIX 5.1 alpha mod.
The heat is similar, not notable high temperature.
I am currently testing its heat result, if there is a heat issue I will add CTT mod into this rom too.
However, I don't play games nor using much video recording just surf the internet, youtube, email and messaging. I did not find any heat issue.

Mainly tuned in term of heat and performance (higher bench scores), and battery as well. However, on the non-root system, the battery diagnosis is limited. You may stop at the version you satisfied. If you like to join the development please update it and report the result.
You can feel free to try this version because you don't need to install the whole new firmware. All you need is just copying system1.img into you internal storage and using lgup in UPGRADEmode to start flashing it with Send_Command. Thus all your apps and setting should be fine.

[Magisk/TWRP] [All variants] A2 camera for S5 ; DISCONTINUED

For my own phone, I have adapted the magisk Mi A2 camera module from this and this thread so it works with our phone, and it works great! It is the best picture quality that I have found, equivalent to google camera 3.2 (but with many other options). HDR works, as well as most functions (all video modes including pausing during video, pictures in torch mode...). I've disabled options that don't work. I've also added the higher quality fixes that are in this thread of the S5 apps section.
Tested on oreo, reported working on nougat & pie. Should work on any AOSP variant/rom as it contains its own libraries.
I am not sure why but it seems not to be working on touchwiz roms.
After installing, you need to manually add the permissions if you have a "cannot connect to camera error". If your camera app has named itself "camera has been disabled"with a banner in the cameras app itself, you need to remove the module, reboot, then reinstall it (thanks @DarkSideOfMyRoom)
Enjoy!

most options : save to SD card (up to Oreo), disable sounds
Not working :
Not supported on our phone : AI scenes, QR, advanced HDR, beautify, age detection and all other options depending on Camera2API or Xiaomi third party apps
Not supported in pie : save to SD card
Based on work from :
joeyhuab for his own arm64 port
carlosggb for the arm libs
soyimparable for the updated media xml files
Thanks for your work on this great camera mod!
I just flashed it on CrDroid v4.6 (based on LOS15.1) and I'm getting a can't connect to camera error, any advice?
Edit: I found that all the permissions for the app was disabled by default and the app didn't ask for permissions, I allowed all the permissions and it works now. (Maybe just add a note to the OP telling people to allow the permissions)
Thanks for the mod

Hi, this module is only for magisk. If you want I can do a flashable zip, just tell me.
Otherwise, you can manually extract the "system" folder from the zip and add its content to your own "/system " folder using a root file manager such as FX explorer. The probability of issue is very low as there is no overwriting of local files, however please do a full backup before just to be on the safe side!

+1 on flashable zip. I've been holding off on installing Magisk but I guess I'll try it out. Slow-Mo/High FPS (120) recording are enabled on this ROM, correct?
Will this work for the DreamUX mod or does that mod not need it since it's stock based, i.e it has the stock camera with normal quality ?
Thanks for this! It works great on my kltedv on RR Nougat.
v1.2 : panorama works & TWRP zip
@rcmaehl @Paul_Lunardi
Hi, here is a quick TWRP flashable zip. Please let me know if everything goes right before I add it to the OP. It is quite simple so we shouldn't expect issues : I've removed all the things that are dependent on the A2 graphic processor and doesn't work on our phones. I've added the new panorama mode fix.
According to my phone, safety net in magisk passes even after flashing it.

From what I read, DreamUX is based on Samsung A7, whether this camera is based on Xiaomi A2.
The camera is pretty much standalone (apk + libs) so it should work in any roms.

Here is another version, could you try if it works ?
- included : apk + libraries + panorama fix
- removed : increased picture quality, camera permissions (should anyway be already on your phone)
Also, you can try waiting for as long as a full minute while booting after installing the mod - I've noticed that large magisk modules significantly increase the time spent on the samsung logo

It boots fine now but the Camera app force closes instantly after launching. I also tried clearing cache and allowing all the permissions.
