Are you talking about the screen lock? If so, isn't there an option for "Forgot Passcode/Pattern, etc" which allows you to prove that it is in fact you by checking your Google Account credentials and unlock?

Pattern lock question

Hi,
I want to try pattern lock but afraid to do so because of so many complaints here of lockout.
1) how will I know which email address will be used if I lock myself.
2) will I lose data if it gets locked
3) how can I change password reset email address

it will use the same email that you are getting your contacts from. Or the same one you used to sign into the market. OR the same one that when you click on the Gmail app......OR if you still can't figure out which one it is...from the home screen, click menu->settings->accounts and sync, look for the account with the "g"
2) will I lose data if it gets locked

no, after trying 5 times you can click on the "forgot pattern?" button, it will ask you to put in your email address and password. once you enter that in, it will ask you to create a pattern, once done, you are in your phone.

huh? to change the password for that email, go to gmail, login, its in the settings somewhere.
ok...you made me look stupid...lol
thanks
Actually a lot of people cannot verify their gmail account info via the phone so if that happens to you you will have to do a master reset and wipe the phone clean through recovery.
Try your initial email and password (if you have changed passwords on gmail since you first signed into the phone), might work. Seems the verification does not work with your actual account online, your email handle and password may be stored on the phone and thats what may be used for verification

[Q] remotely removing google account?

Got my phone stolen..
Google doesn't give any help on removing google account.
Is there a way to remotely remove the google account from the stolen phone?
Says it's used market using my account so kinda in a hurry..
any methods will be fine.. no longer in my possession so ANYTHING!
please help..
What about changing your google password?
If you change your password, as mentioned, the account will no longer work on the phone without the new password. All of the data that has already synced will still be visible to whoever has your phone, but they will no longer be able to use your account.
Unfortunately there's probably not much else you can do. You can log into the Market on your computer and install some kind of phone tracking software, but it will have to be able to remotely enable GPS. You'll probably have to install the software before changing the password.

thanks for the advise..
as expected, google said change password as well, which I did, and they still somehow managed to access the account just yesterday.. lol..
just guess i'll have to delete it or something..
It might be worth giving this a try if you know the phone's still in use and you want to track it down!

Everything related to Google are the same as the ones on your computer. It's hard to believe that you can't retrieve your gmail password...

my request is not related to google, but to all other password existing in my phone (es. dropbox, facebook, evernote etc. etc. etc.).
simply a most convenient way to find all the password in one shot
Again, all those apps have the same password then the ones on your computer.
I'm just going to close this one before it gets out of hand.

[Q] Can I recover an email password from the K9 mail app?

I have an email account (gmail) that I have since forgotten the password too. I set it up and immediately put the credentials in K9, then never accessed the account from a browser again. Well recently I've needed to get in to it but I can't. I have tried recovering the email through google's forgotten password thing, but it doesn't work (it was set up with very generic, and scarce information). I know the password is stored in K9 and still working, so I was direly hoping I can get the password from this.
Please, any and all ideas are greatly welcomed. I appreciate any and all help as well. Thanks.

Samsung S7 Questions

I have a S7. It used to power up fine and go to the main screen. Now it boots up like it is brand new. It wants to connect to the internet and asks for a gmail account. I don't have that gmail account for this phone. It was given to me. How can I bypass this to just use the phones apps and wifi to the internet? No paid service.
Thanks
Joe
When in doubt. Youtube it.
Well I still have questions. Do I have to do a restore defaults? Or clear data? I want to keep whats on the phone.
@joebudd
You disable FRP by doing
Go to Settings.
Choose Cloud and Accounts - on some devices, this may be just Accounts and then you’ll skip the next step.
Tap Accounts.
Find and tap your Google account.
Tap Remove Account.
The only problem is I can't get into the phone. It powers up and there is a start button. Then the internet, then sign in to the google account assigned to the phone. I need to get around that.
@joebudd
If you have USB debugging enabled on your phone, then to remove FRP lock you can try out Windows app called GSM Flasher ADB FRP Bypass Tool .
Ok I am in. There are so many different ways it's not funny. I do have another question. The phone comes up with the old number that was put in the phone. Can it be removed? Also can activation incomplete be removed as well?
