Google play finger print authentication for purchases? - Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 / S7 Plus Questions & Answer

Why can't I use the fingerprint sensor for payments in Google play? The box is checked in Google play settings to do this.

I assume you have a fingerprint set up for the device? Are you using it to unlock the phone/other apps?

Sorry for the stupid question, but it sometimes is necessary here.
The setting right below biometric, is it turned on, that is, are you getting promoted for authentication for your purchases? What payment method do you use? I wonder if that has anything to do with it.
I have biometric turned on as well, but I have authentication set to never require, so I don't believe I ever get the chance to even use biometric.

Does you've check, if the 2 way authentication is enabled in your Google account?
I must it disabled because of older hardware, so I can't try it

[Q] Lockscreen security problem! Confused!

Hi!
On my security options for my lock-screen on my Samsung Galaxy S3, i've been able to choose different options like swipe, pin code, password etc.
Now somewhat, I can't. Anyone familiar with this? It tells me this: "disabled by administrator, encryption policy, or credential storage".
I would appreciate if someone would help me out here, as I want to change this. Thanks.
Try forcing an update of busybox from within the Superuser app. Otherwise, you must have inadvertently changed a setting somewhere.

Got it fixed by deleting all of my VPN networks. Thanks to everyone who took their time to respond me.
This worked for me

Thanks for the post joaksle. Deleting my VPN settings also fixed the problem for me. Weird why these settings caused the lock screen options to be disabled!
It's because corporate VPNs have security policies set by their admins, which cause the device to disable certain features. The same thing happens if you set up an Exchange email account. I think that the policies are set by the company IT admin as per company requirements, so you won't see the same behaviour with every VPN or exchange account. Of course I might be wrong about it depending on the company, so someone please correct me I am. The idea seems to be that pattern unlock and face unlock are relatively easier to crack than a traditional PIN code lock, so they disable these methods and allow only the PIN lock (or more methods depending on the policy).

Does the app 'Tasker' not work with Verizon GS4?

I tried 2 profiles so far and they both don't work. The "lockscreen off when connected to certain wifi" and the "turn wifi on when near a specific cell tower". I follow video guides for both, and they're simple enough, that I don't believe I made any mistakes. Yet, they're not working.
Am I doing something wrong? Is there a setting I need to enable first?
Did our install secure setting and it's helper?

works great on my GS4. It may help if you elaborate on what exactly isnt working. did you update the profile with your SSID?
You need to install secure settings plugin from play store.
I currently have tasker setup to disable my pin lock when connected to my home network

I created a profile in tasker. This should work but I have not tested it.
You will need to import the project.
- press/hold home button in tasked
- click import: pattern
- click untrusted
- not WiFi connected
- ssid: "input wireless network name"
- click trusted
- not WiFi connected
- ssid : "Input wireless network name"
- turn both profiles on
Hope that works

Have you tried Llama? It's a more powerful app.

Hmm. I'll have to look into that one. But I use Automateit instead. So far I really like it, I feel it's got a more user friendly interface than tasker, but my only complaint is that when I set it to silence my phone at work, and at the end of the day it sets the volume back, text messages are still silent, so it takes a reboot to get it back. So I just set it to reboot 1 minute after the sound is set to turn back on.

I'm sorry, but Llama is in no way more powerful.
It may be easier to use, but as far as power goes, Tasker has much more. It has the ability to do more things based on more "states".

have you tried installing a gps fix and setting to your region? I believe "please do not quote me on this" that runtastic is region specific when it "calls" gps function.

Fingerprint app lock...

Can i lock apps with the fingerprint?? I tried all the app lock apps but they don't show fingerprint lock as an option...
Does anyone know how to enable this??

Phone Manager is used to lock apps
You kinda are...if you go into the phone manager app and find where it says app lock, you can use that to lock the apps. I use that to lock all my apps and it works great.

I already tried that... It says either you're phone doesn't have fp scanner or it isn't accessible by third party apps

It won't let you uninstall it. Thanks!
What app is it?
Sent from my SM-G965F using Tapatalk
Under google settings it's CONJOB-19 exposure notifications likely soon to be contact tracing. I've been ignoring updates since May as they are forcing this garbage down everyone's throats at some point. Eventually my phone locks up with "new sim card" messages if I ignore updates long enough.
This should only provide notification if you would install your health authority tracking app. Did you install anything? This is why it is active.
This is part of Google account and you can just switch it off.

"should" yeah right. These sneaky dirtbags have already proven themselves to be sneaky dirtbags. At present it is showing inactive but I don't believe that for one second. I'd like it off my phone. I looked into rooting as I've done it before on an older phone and actually successfully put a custom ROM on said older phone. But it doesn't look like this is an option yet on this phone? Not even sure that rooting would help? Thanks!
