Garena Free Fire: HMS Vs. GMS - Huawei Developers

Garena Free Fire: HMS Vs. GMS
Large battle royale-style games are the most popular type of game right now. GMS powered phones have a large selection of these types of games to play, including PUBG, Fortnite, and others. Being able to play games like this, is one of the best ways to use your high-end phone. Huawei makes some of the most powerful phones on the market, with the ability to run very graphics-intense games. Without the support of GMS, can Huawei still offer a great gaming experience? In this thread, I will compare the popular game, Garena Free Fire. This game is available on the Play store and the App Gallery, coming in both GMS and HMS flavors.
This game is very similar to PUBG, for those that have played that game before. It also has a mix of style that is more similar to Fortnite, when it comes to player movement and gun mechanics. The game is totally free to play, and offers a premium graphics experience.
Garena Free Fire [GMS]
Installing Garena Free Fire on a GMS phone results in a great gaming experience. The gameplay is smooth and the graphics look very good. The game plays like a light version of PUBG. It's a bit more casual, with enemy fights happening way more often. There's plenty of skins to choose from and there is a good ranking system that matches you with players that have similar skills.

The game doesn't get as much recognition as other big titles in the same genre, but after playing Garena for a bit, you'll probably find that it's every bit as fun.
Garena Free Fire [HMS]
The HMS version of Garena is able to produce the same graphics experience. Even without GMS powering the game features, Garena plays just the same and is just as fun. You won't find that any features are missing, and everything functions as normal. The developers have done a great job in bringing this game to Huawei phones.
Using Huawei's HMS Core Game Kit, Garena is able to be one of the best games available to HMS phones, and really shows off the potential of future games to come. So for anyone looking to get the best gaming experience on a non-GMS device, this is the best solution so far.

Is crossplay enabled - GMS <> HMS ?

Its a very good game.I also play this game and its a good experience for me.

Pretty simple and well done, can be played anywhere.

In for an answer… I'm looking for good (local) multiplayer games since two years, but still almost nothing pops up. Meanwhile, quite a lot of my friends do have Android phones (whereas two years ago I was the only one and my search was pretty hypothetical).
But I have one to add to the list: GalaxIR is a fun game to play over (local) WiFi.
Anyone got more?

Of course, not every app will work with BlueStacks, but SO MANY of them do. It is worth playing with.
Your Phone Will Sync All The Favs!
I know Angry Birds series, slice it, wordfeud work. Messaging apps work, Evernote....... there are Many.
Another great perk is that you can link your phone to the app player on your laptop or desktop with their Cloud Connect app.
This app installs on your Android phone and allows you to pick and choose which apps from your phone you want synced to your desktop.
You will have access to the Amazon AppStore and Get Jar and a few other appstores right out of the gate.
This will be great on a windows 8 tablet.
Will this work with a windows 8 tablet?

If you own a Window’s anything it should work.
Exciting to see future cross compatibility with win8 tablets, and it should work with win7 tablets as well. But personally, I see no need to use it on my beefy computer.

As far as I know, no..
As I use dex station for around a month, very few games are able to be played there..
Use dex if you really need the workstation..
If you're playing games, it is better to buy a Bluetooth controller and a USB C - hdmi adapter imo.
Thanks.
My laptop is dead now so I was looking for an alternative as i have monitor, keyboard and I like lite games like asphalt, modern combat etc.
Tuen I need to think something else
Will Samsung Dex ever get 4K HDMI output as orginally advertised? Currently max output is 1080p

My suggestion is to get a new laptop instead of relying on phone.
Laptops are very affordable now. Just go for basics ones. 300usd and below.

Well you can't play games directly in dex but you have a game that works with a USB or bluetooth gamepad, you can just set the phone to mirror mode instead of Dex and have the game displayed on your monitor, I'm able to play Shadowgun: Deadzone using that method.

Not that I care about gaming with DeX, but how is the input lag with screen mirroring and using a BT device? Never tested it tbh..

I have tried Real Racing 3, with a moga game controller, in DeX mode (not mirror) and it feels like I'm playing on a console! It was easy to forget that it was running on my phone lol
With DeX developer mode enabled (instructions in DeX Hubs true windows guide) pretty much all apps are scalable, so you can play a game whilst keeping an eye on something else!

HMS Core | HUAWEI Game Service Lets Developers Focus on Game Innovation

Bringing joy and amusement to users, mobile games have become one of the most profitable app types that users are very willing to pay for. HUAWEI HMS Core provides Game Service to allow developers to focus on game innovation at lower development costs.
01 What Is HUAWEI Game Service?
HUAWEI Game Service provides a series of APIs for global game developers. By integrating the HMS SDK, developers can call these APIs to quickly implement various game functions, such as gift packages, achievements, leaderboards, saved games, player statistics, and custom events. In addition, HUAWEI Game Service provides comprehensive guidance and help from the creation and development of the game to application release and management, effectively simplifying the game development process and allowing developers to focus on game innovation.

02 What Functions Does HUAWEI Game Service Provide?
1. Game gift packages
Developers can upload game gift packages that contain various game items and benefits to HUAWEI AppGallery to attract more players. A player can claim gift packages and view gift packages that they already claimed on the game client or in the floating window, motivating them to play the games more often.
2. Achievements
An achievement is a goal set in a game for players to aim for. When a player reaches an achievement, the player receives scores, experience points, or other forms of rewards that can be queried on the game client or in the floating window in real time.
3. Leaderboards
A leaderboard ranks players by score or level and helps with user retention by encouraging competition among players. A player can view leaderboards on the game client or in the floating window in real time.
4. Saved games
The saved game function saves a player's game progression to HUAWEI CLOUD and allows a player to retrieve the saved game data the next time they sign in or use another device and continue the game.
5. Player statistics
This function collects statistics on basic game data and key behaviours performed by players in real time, providing a reference for developers to tailor game functions and experiences to various user requirements.
6. Custom events
Developers can configure key events then players can trigger it during playing the game. For example, once an event to track is "Defeat 100 enemies in a day" and a player wins against 100 enemies in a day, the event will be reported. Developers can view event data in HUAWEI AppGallery Connect to optimize the game experience based onevent data which is produced by high-quality players behavior.
03 One-Stop Joint Operations Facilitate Game Innovation
Nowadays, the success of a game not only relies on developers' capability to develop basic game functions but also on their ability to conduct game operations to attract and retain players. HMS Core provides one-stop joint operation services for game developers, allowing them to focus on game innovation. HUAWEI ID enables players to quickly sign in to a game with one-tap authorization; HUAWEI In-App Purchases aggregate global mainstream payment methods to make players conveniently and securely purchase game products; and HUAWEI Game Service provides excellent game experience for players. These one-stop joint operation services enable developers to constantly benefit from Huawei's large user base with lower development costs.
Hot games such as Conquerors have all benefited from HMS Core joint operations services.
Connect to HMS Core for a wonderful game development experience.
The HUAWEI Developer official website provides you with step-by-step instructions to access HUAWEI Game Service.

GameCenter on HMS vs Google Play Games on GMS

GameCenter on HMS vs Google Play Games on GMS
One of the things that makes mobile gaming so much fun is the simple ways you can connect with so many other players. One of the ways that this is done is by having some sort of gaming hub on your phone. A gaming hub should be able to connect you with other players, improve your gaming experience, keep your high scores, or offer other gaming-related features. GMS powered phones have had the Google Play Games app to offer these types of features. HMS powered phones have the ability to take advantage of Huawei GameCenter. In this thread, we will compare the two apps so you can understand what you'll get with each system.
Google Play Games on GMS
Google Play Games is heavily integrated into many different games on the Play store. This app comes preinstalled on most HMS phones, offering a simple account creation using your existing Gmail account. On the initial launch of the app, you'll have to option to toggle notifications that will give you information on different games. While setting up your profile, you'll be able to adjust your privacy settings to allow or block friends from finding you by search. Play Games can also be set to automatically sign in when playing your favorite games, and also access your friends list so you can play with them as well.

}
On your profile, you have access to your friends list and your achievements. The achievement tracking works with all sorts of different games and shows custom badges for your different achievements.
One of the best features that the Play Games app offers is instant plays. Instant plays allow you to try a game without downloading the full app. This is good because we usually know if we want to continue playing a game within the first minute or so. If the game is no good, we go uninstall it. By using the instant play feature, you can skip this process. Just load the game from within the app and give it a shot.
GameCenter on HMS
To replace Play Games on Huawei phones, you'll have access to Huawei Game Center. The app comes preinstalled and will use your Huawei ID to access all of the app's features. While Google Play Games offers some social features, GameCenter is more focused on finding new games and tracking your purchases. GameCenter does not offer any sort of social features, which might be a good thing. I have never found myself using the Google Play Games friends feature and it's more annoying than useful. Considering any multiplayer game will have its own built-in friends system, it just becomes redundant and it's nice to see Huawei does not try to add this feature.
You can leave detailed reviews on games, through the GameCenter. Then other users can read your review and leave comments on it. It's a great way to see how other users are experiencing games you're interested in. The GameCenter helps developers advertise their game and drive traffic, by acting as a marketplace for apps. You'll find a similar look and feel to Huawei's AppGallery, but it's exclusive to games.
Players can also receive gifts, rewards, and coupons to encourage them to play more and have a better experience from their game. There are many events that take place that offer cool in-game prizes for gamers. Other than that, it's a fairly simple app. It's more or less an app store for games, with some features that help developers reach a larger audience.
