Realme 7 Pro Performance issues. - Realme 7 Pro Questions & Answers

Hi all, after using for 3 years my trusty Moto G5 plus decided to purchase 7 pro, UK version, using it for a week now. My first Realme phone, good specs. for a mid ranger, was very excited and it ticks all the right boxes for my daily use but there is one, my opinion major issue and Realme needs to address it. All the same apps downloaded to the new phone as I was using in my Moto phone, from day one I have occasional and completely random hang-ups of the phone, it can be any random action, browsing through the settings, opening any random app, once it froze on me even during phone unlock. It becomes completely unusable for about 30 seconds or more, cannot go back or go to the home screen, it just completely locks up. And of course I tried restarting the phone, clearing recent apps, I even re-installed latest build update file from Realme website (RMX2170EU_11_A.26). I also ran benchmark apps like Antutu and Geekbench 5, getting similar results as other user tests.
No difference. It happens every day and it can happen more than once, all random. With much higher specs than my old Moto phone (8GB RAM vs 4GB on Moto, faster CPU, Android 10 vs Oreo...) I did not expect that at all and I think it is not acceptable for this behavior for a brand new phone.
I am thinking of returning the phone unless someone out there has a solution for this, I would really appreciate it as otherwise I like the phone an I would like to keep it. Thanks.

Looks like some unoptimized app is causing lag in background, check assecibility service disable which you don't use. Check battery what are the apps draining

Hi Visma_2011, did you manage to figure out what caused the issue on your phone? I'm having similar issues with my Realme 7 Pro. And I also migrated all my apps from my previous phone so it is difficult to know exactly which one might be the culprit, if any.
Curious to know if you had your issues resolved.

Hello PakkaZA,
Sorry to hear that, I really wanted to like the Realme phone, and I did like most of the things about it, I would have used it for two or three years but no matter what I've tried, nothing worked and I eventually I gave up and sent the phone back to Amazon for a refund.
Went back to using Moto phone ,not the old one but bough myself a Moto G 5G plus. It has a better chip set (Snapdragon 765), but I think the main reason Realme kept locking up because of their clunky UI, Moto phones are near stock (Vanilla) android and very little of their own gestures and stuff, of which I am a big fan and never had an issue with freezing so far. And I am using same apps as before....I am just surprised that very little users have similar experience as us, it might be that only some phones are somewhat faulty?
Hopefully you will a solution. Good luck .

I have the same issue as you, for me when phone does apps updates through google play store, the phone hang up. my model is the indian Realme 7 PRO with android 10

HTC [Q]ONE X+ - usage problems and dissapointment

Dear dear dear people,
I must have registered here, in Mekka of smart people, cause of last reasons.
I've just bought a brand new HTC ONE X+, I've been gathering money for it for some period of time.
Moreover I'm a huge fan of HTC devices, because before this pfone I had HTC ONE V, HTC DESIRE X, HTC ONE SV (+ 2 more)
BUT when I got this phone Im continously like a WTF WTF WTF, and Im still looking for my fallen jaw.
I never said even one bad word on HTC devices, but I cant understand whats going on with this crappy HTC ONE X+.
Firstly I've been complaining about battery life on my polish android forum and that I've made 5 minutes of calling, 5 sms sent, 0 gaming and 10 minutes of surfing on the net and the phone was capable to stand 11 hours in this usage, BUT i said OK I can handle this !
But also from very beginning I was strong complaining that telephone is very laggish, first ICS was installed and transistions between screens (or desktops) werent smooth at all. Next I upgraded to 4.2.2 Sense 5.0 and still some frames lagging in simple activities, in phonebook, contacts, messaging etc.
Now, the thing which killed me and threw my balls out of the window was when I installed games like ShadowGun and Subway Surfers.
Every phone which I had before wasnt so crappy lagging like this one ! I was playing SS on desire X and ONE SV SUPER SMOOTHLYa nd this phone has quadcore 1.7 GHZ and cant handle such simple game ? Its not unplayable but its far away from smooth and fluent playing...
Damn Im really frightened cause of all this... First time I was considering buying LG Optimus G but Ive chosen this as I have always had HTC devices.
Can some intelligent person explain me whats happening, am i doing sth wrong ? or Im sentenced on always lagging simple games ? So where's that quadcore Nvidia Tegra 1.7 advantages ? Beacuse cmparing simple usage this phone is far behind much older HTC phones.
Now after a week Im thinking about selling this phone
ehhhhhh.....

Keep power saver mode on at all times. I keep it on even when I play games and it does not lag at all. As another user on this forum said, that option should actually be reversed, as in to keep the phone using only one CPU core at all times, and activate all of them using "Performance Mode".
Are you 100% sure your phone is HTC original? (if it was bought from a well-known retailer that wouldn't be a problem)
Check the IMEI and SN on http://sndeep.info.
Also, go to www.whatismyscreenresolution.com and check if the reported resolution is 1280x720. (most fakes can look, feel and perform almost like the original, but they don't have the exact resolution).
If you don't have any apps running and it still lags, even without power saver (although it shouldn't either way), i'd recommend to return it to the shop, it might be defective.
It is a great phone, I would not change it for anything except the One.
AFAIK the lag in non-tegra/easy cpu-loading games should have been fixed on android 4.2.2, it is related to the tegra SoC scaling the gpu only with the cpu, so if the cpu load is not high enought the gpu power is also smaller, but as fara as I have read most people said it was not happening anymore after the 4.2.2 update.
Also are you sure you are on the ONE X+ and not ONE X or a fake X+, cause the ONE X+ comes with android 4.1.2 JellyBean and not with ICS (android 4.0.x).
I changed mine for a brand new Nexus 4. Best desition I made in terms of mobile technology.
I owned the hox+ for a while, tried android revolution, cm, slim rom and finally I felt in love for aokp.
But the lag and embarrassment still there.
The material quality of the hox+ is by far superior, but the Nexus 4 performance is incredible.
I was really disappointed too, considering the Nexus 4 is older than the hox+.

Hey again,
Thank you very much guys for participating in this topic, I appreciate it.
@thecybo - I've checked the sites youn recommended me and everything is OK, the sites show me it is original ONE X+ and the screen is also OK.
Yeah guys my telephone comes from a big retailer in my country so no doubt its original. It was bought as a BRAND NEW.
Honestly i truly cant believe that a brand new phone can have malfunction or something, I've never had such situation before.
When I first took the phone in my hands there was installed ICS or JB, I'm not sure because I didnt checked it. I just fastly upgraded it to newest software as I wanted check the new Sense 5. So before I upgraded it there were some microlags just from time to time, but even that I was like a "huh ?" In this phone class its unexectable for me. And because of fact that I've loved this phone so much (for design, specifications etc) its even sadder for me. Damnnn....I wanted this phone soo much and now I'm quite dissapointed.
Guys, Im not game type of person but in that situation Ive decided to test some games and see how telephone will handle them and here are the results:
1. Shadowgun: deadzone - medium lags, bigger than on my old HTC ONE SV
2. Real Racing 3 - hmmm I think the game works smoothly, just a small lag from time to time
3. Dead Trigger 2 - this game works the smoothest among all games in my phone; it works great
4. Modern Combat 4 - nice and OK
5. Iron Man 3 - games works weakly, very weakly
6. Asphalt 8 - almost unplayable
When I turned off Asphalt 8 the phone was hugly lagging for 3-4 seconds.
When I was playing these games, the battery consumption was like 1% per minute. Quite big I think.
Guys, can you confrote these with your usage ? Also when I use youtube, internet, facebook then IMHO its not as smooth as it should be.
Damn, Im confused right now, dont know really what to do, Im considering selling this phone (thanks Davirus849 for that Nexus 4 mention, I think I would choose his nearest brother LG Optimus G).
But HONESTLY comparing HTC with LG is like a "pffff" to me, but I think I have no choice now. Ehhhh
It shouldn't behave as you describe. There may be some corrupt user data somewhere particularly considering you have upgraded the OS. Many experienced Android users recommend a factory reset after a system upgrade as there can occasionally be a compatibility issue. These can manifest themselves as lags or poor battery life.
I would recommend you try a factory reset which will wipe all user data. Remember to back up anything you need (contacts, sms messages) first.

You just bought a One X+ now? WHY?! The One is newer and superior in every way, and most carriers have stopped supporting this phone for a while now. Why you would think to get a "new" phone that is already about a year old is beyond me. You should have gotten a One or waited for the new M8 (Current One successor).

The logic in your comment is perplexing at best. Why do people buy cheap cars instead of Ferrari's? Why do people buy cheap production PC's instead of custom built monsters? Because not everyone can afford the latest and greatest. The HOX+ is miles cheaper than the One.

In my case, I bought the one x+ in march, just when the latest ONE was launched. If you ask me WHYYYEEE?
Well mate, non removable battery is one thing, but limiting the storage for a high end smartphone is just unacceptable for my wallet! When travelling a lot and 3g not being sufficient + 4g not being deployed everywhere, people need storage. Not only for media consumption but for apps too. I have 25gb of apps installed, (tomtom + navigon anyone, each of them serving in different case scenarios). Add to that my emulator roms + multimedia + the pictures i take and there you have it.
Never have I been able to go below 48gb of used memory out of 64gb (knowing that the one x+ has only 57gb user accessible memory).
I harrassed htc at the time about the availability of the 64gb version of the ONE by mail, phone, Facebook and twitter. The only reason I could get is "selected market" and s#!t.
So where was this damn 64gb version available? 1 carrier exclusive in the US, the developper edition (also us), the removable back model for japan with a sim slot + sd slot and another one with 2 sim slots + 1sd slot (one for china at launch and the other recently announced for the UK).
There you have it, when you buy htc since 2007 and you need a phone that can manage, you don't buy the One, but the one x instead. Sadly, my experience is the same as the OP's (lags and whatever).
My guess, we can blame the processor + unoptimized apps + Google "core" apps updates which get heavyer each time (nothing changed in my usage but the phone lags more overtime no matter how many factory resets I did).
Also, the battery does NOT deliver and there's nothing around it!!! Seriously, even 2d games make the phone get hot as hell and drain the ***** out of juice in no time, 1% of battery per minute doesn't even begin to cover it.

Even still there are many good cheap android phones that you can buy new such as the Moto X and Moto G, and there are older phones that receive more love like the S3.
I got my One X + yesterday.
Been at it today reading on Rooting to make my attempt later, as well as installing apps.
My first impression, it seems to be quite quick, I'm upgrading from HTC Doubleshot (myTouch 4G Slide) and iPhone 4s.
Free RAM seems to be quite low stock, I have about the same free RAM as in the mt4gs. Not much of a mobile game player, the mt4gs handled everything fine especially with the oc (had to remove the original battery cover and use the case cover instead to get rid of some of the heat) including probably the most hungry game I've played which is Need For Speed Most Wanted.
I would be disappointed a bit if the One X+ doesn't perform as well at that. Or lags alot.
I was installing apps on battery *all* day. Where I expected I would have to plug in at some point, the battery is now 63% it was about 76% when I unpacked it. Battery seems to be pleasing for me.
I would have stayed with the mt4gs if I didn't have charging port (battery read /reporting) issues which I will repair as soon as I get the time.
So far though I'm happy with it.
I hope OP get's issues resolved.

Ram can get low, but there are custom kernels which allow you to use some space of your regular memory as ram, but I have not tried that out cause I got a Rom with Sense5 (custom kernels are only available for stock rom or roms with sense 4+, so think twice before updating it.
Playing games is not really my thing, but I noticed that it has quite many fps drops in apps which actually don't require that much power (like Rayman jungle run). That's why I have to change my cpu settings to performance (it's an option in the tweaks of the ViperX+ rom, dunno how to do this on stock). The phone also gets pretty hot, especially when charging it + using it at the same time.
Nevertheless I'm very happy with the OneX+ and I hope you willbe the same
I would hate to go through a factory reset again but I'm getting a bit disappointed myself now. I find the phone does lag a lot and behaves weirdly like slow WiFi connections. Every other device I use magicjack and the calls are good. With the one x + it sounds like a really slow connection. When streaming videos it pauses for buffering like every 10 seconds or so. Only device I experience this with.
I will do as suggested and backup my stuff and do the wipe. Also interested in trying that custom kernel.
Frustrated at this point.

Oy. Where can I find such a kernel for my stock Rom with sense 4+ ?
After very tiring searching I only ended up being very confused. All I could come across were ones for sense 5 and others I just can't find links for.
I feel really retarded

Hi, I bought my HOX+ from a friend a couple of months ago. If you ask why, Because she needed the money and sold it for a very cheap price, not to mention it is still under warranty.
When I got the phone it is already running on 4.2.2 Stock rom and so far it runs pretty smooth
What I like about HOX+ is its solid build, the beats audio and its UI which is better than my previous S3.
I also play games (Injustice, asphalt 8, clash of clans, etc) and so far I never experienced any lags even on power saving mode.
Two things I didn't like about it is the overheating issues (which I never experienced with iphone 4 and S3) and poor battery life.
I'm planning to send it over to HTC regarding the issues but I heard (here in our country) that they have very crappy service. Right now I'm thinking of rooting it instead.
Anyway I hope OP's HOX+ should be fixed soon

I'm sorry for you but I can't find the thread anymore, only the one for Sense 5 (Android 4.2.x)
EliteKernel OXP: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2012320
To the time where I wrote my reply there was a Sense 4+ version of the kernel, but I think the old thread got deleted by the time Nik3r
released the newer kernel.
Just as an update, I installed MagioROM R1.1 on Sunday. It was easier to do the update than many other tasks that are usually performed on the phone.
As I expected, it turned into an amazing, awesome device. All issues were resolved! Definitely have my donation & seriously the manufacturers should have these guys putting together these devices.
After installing I noticed an update was
Released probably at the same time I was installing. I grabbed that too. Perfect!

The lag reports are true...

I've had the Moto E for 3 months and the headaches started after two weeks. I had been using the HTC 510 for about a year, rooted with a great ROM. I was fine with the ****ty camera and display, but I loved how snappy it was and of course HTC sense. If I ever spend more than $100 on a phonePHONE again, it will be an HTC. My favorite phone I've had was the Droid Incredible 4g LTE, an HTC variant of Big Red's flagship.
Any who, the digitizer for the 510 was getting on my last nerves, so I scooped up the new Moto E at Boost for $50. Great price, but after two weeks I was wondering if it was refurbished. The lag with merely 3-4 basic apps open was staggering. I could soon forget about making a call or text while using navigation. The 3 second lag was unbearable. I did a factory reset yet nothing changed.
I have maybe 10 apps on this POS, banking apps, budget, etc. Nothing heavyweight. The best new development has been the lag on the dialer or even answering calls!
I just cleared the cache, we'll see if this helps.
I'm out of patience and ideas. I really wish I would have gotten the moto G.... My dad has the ZTE Speed, which we all know is vastly inferior, and his phone is refreshing when I pick it up.
I'm going to do the unthinkable next week if this doesn't improve. I'm going to get the iPhone 5s. That's right, I said it. Well, let me clarify: I work for sprint, I get it for $49, unlimited talk text data for 35, twelve month contract. Say what you want about ios/apple, but the 5s is a solid, well built phone

Did you really just imply the iPhone 5s is better than the moto e (2015)?
It's several times the price of course it's better.

I've been experiencing nonstop lag ever since I took it out of the box. Tried many different system utils and they only slow it down worse. I'm so tired of this. If I could root (stupid locked bootloader) if definitely drop most of the system apps. But unfortunately, it isn't possible yet.
Sent from my MotoE2(4G-LTE) using Tapatalk
Yes, they're true. I have a xt1527 and I always had lag until I reflashed a different stock firmware (not the one that comes with the carrier). After that, I used it a couple of weeks and lag started again. I'm unsure what could cause it but reflashing everything solves it.
Enviado desde mi MotoE2(4G-LTE) mediante Tapatalk
Well I can confirm. The issue with this phone is 5.0 which is horrible, 4.4.4 would make this phone fly.
i have been oke with my XT 1527 , yea at the begining there was some lag but since im still using the stock rom and i have xposed i downloaded a module called "Fix Lillipop Memory Leak" and that made the phone fly. There are other memory leak problems in LP but that module succesfully fixes one of the most important ones. Of course i will flash a ROM later but first i wanna make sure there is xposed support for 5.1 and the ROM is stable because right now they have alot of bugs .
ok. So I'm not the only one experiencing unacceptable lag time on the stock rom. I'm on 5.1 and it's running slower than my dad's iPhone 4, which was released in 2010, for the record. I'm seriously considering getting another iPhone 4 although that'll mean losing a number of things. But considering that I'll gain acceptable response times for something as basic as the dialer, I think I'll manage.
I don't know what kind of moto e you guys because mine is just fine and really faster (AOSP with Belive Kernel) So, maybe is an app, videogame or something like that because i don't feel lag at all
I'm using the Virgin Mobile Moto E, and I have a bit of lag on occasions, but not much. Keep in mind, my expectations are low. After using higher end, dev friendly devices for years (Nexus 4, G2, OPO), I experimented with some very basic FreedomPop phones (LG Viper, ZTE Force), but finally gave up.
My only issue with the Moto E is that 1 GB of RAM does not seem to be enough for Lollipop. Specifically the issue is when I'm driving. I have the phone connected via Bluetooth, which activates Car Dashdroid, and I have Waze and a music app running as well. With the Viper on 4.0.4 and the Force on 4.1.2, this would work, though at times be laggy. With the Moto E, there isn't much lag, but the phone can't seem to run all 3 at once, as it'll kill music (doesn't matter the app, I've tried Google Play, Pandora, and Spotify) if Waze is in the foreground, and kill Waze if the music is in the background. Sometimes its fine if I swipe away all the other apps beforehand, but even then I might have to restart music or Waze a couple of times.
I own this phone for less than a week and is slow to be frightening.
Chrome crashes almost always, the keyboard loses touch and is slow.
Using a micro sd 8gb formatted as internal storage and I moved all apps on it.
I disabled some apps and installed the necessary (twitter, telegram, netflix, spotify, whatsapp, postepay, shazam, coc, amazon, az sr, PicSay, my vodafone, safeincloud, google translate)

LG G5 RS988 really laggy and slow

Hi everyone!
I bought an LG G5 about 3 weeks ago. I was coming from a Xiaomi mi5 (that I loved! But had signal problems in the States) and the LG G5 feels like a single core 512mb of RAM phone. Using the LG launcher it was so laggy scrolling pages, so I switched to Nova launcher and now at least the launcher feels better. The problem is that everything else sucks. Even just using chrome is so painful, scrolling long webpages is not smooth at all, same thing happens scrolling my phone's settings or any other app. Sometimes it seems a little better but after some hard use and some apps opened it starts lagging like crazy and it even freezes. The performance of this phone is awful and I haven't had such a low performance phone in years. Also it gets really hot with normal use. So this is all very weird to me and I'm wondering if there's a problem with my device or if a factory reset could solve my problems. As I got the phone I updated it to Nougat but didn't do any factory reset (since it was brand new and nothing was installed yet). Do you guys think that could be affecting it? How is your phone acting? Is the LG G5 such a crappy, slow and laggy phone or I'm experiencing something abnormal?
Thank you to everyone who will answer this post and try to help!
I just bought an RS988 G5 last week too. I updated to Nougat (21b) and did a factory reset (really wish there was a simple clear system cache option in the recovery).
Anyway, I have not experienced much lag at all. In fact, it is noticeably smoother than my S7. Also, mine doesn't get very warm unless I do heavy tasks like gaming.
I'm actually quite pleased with the G5. Compared to the S7, my only issues are the build quality is definitely a step back. And the software support (from both LG and third-party) is rather weak, especially for our model.
Other than that, I'm pretty happy with the performance, battery life and camera. I'm getting ~20-30min more SoT than my 1-year old S7. Even aesthetically it's not as bad as it is in videos/photos (I have the titan version)... looks much better in person.
Is that your device is a original product? Not buy from those china store? Nowadays have alot of fake phone. I scare that the phone is not G5.
Another thing, between this 3 weeks, do you install any apps?

I just bought an RS988 G5 last week too. I updated to Nougat (21b) and did a factory reset (really wish there was a simple clear system cache option in the recovery).

Thank you for answering! So from what I understand your phone doesn't lag and it's not slow. I think I'll try a factory reset cause the phone I'm using doesn't feel like a flagship at all

Thank you for answering! I'm sure my phone is an LG G5 original. I bought it from a physical store (Best Buy) and I doubt it's a fake. In these 3 weeks I installed the regular apps that I had in my Mi5 and that didn't affect it at all. I don't think it's because of the apps and if it is then I don't know what to do cause I regularly use all of them and I need them

Longevity with Honor phones

Hi
I currently have a Samsung Galaxy S5, bought when it came out which makes it around 3 years and 8 months old. As with old devices it has started to frustrate me with lags and such so I am looking for good alternatives which have the same qualities even after 3-4 years with heavy daily usage.
Because I am a student, the new samsungs and even LGs are far too expensive so the Honor 9 is a top contender for me.
The reason I want to hear from you is that you, the users of Honor 7, have used your phones for a time close to mine and so you can probably answer my question in the best way. And i can apply that to the Honor 9 most likely
With it's comparatively cheap price to samsung, LG and Pixel etc it comes with scrutiny regarding this very topic, longevity. I can't switch phones every year so this is a very important to me to know before I buy it.
What kind of people am I looking for to reply with your usage? Users where these conditions apply:
- You bought it within the year of release
- You use it actively to this day
- You have 'more than normal' amount of apps
- Your phones is rooted with Xposed mods running
- You're running a custom ROM with a few tweaks
Please, I also ask you to be objective. I want to hear about the bad and the good things you experience, hopefully the negative doesn't happen daily - if it does, i want to know about it.
SO please, reply with your experiences with your old Honor 7 so I can decide whether to buy the honor 9. You can answer with one sentence if you want as long as it's true
I wouldn't recommend buying a Honor smartphone. I have a Honor 7 bought in November 2015. The update policy of Honor is really bad after 1 year no longer a new Android update. I am still running MM. And the battery is also bad. Today my smartphone was shutting it self off when the battery indicator was still at 30%. So no longer a Huawei or Honor smartphone for me anymore. My next smartphone will be a Motorola.
I've had the Honor 7 for 2+ years now.
I use latest official ROM.
I've always had problems with notifications, sometimes they just don't show.
It is better now on the latest firmware but it is not perfect.
Battery lasts a full day at best, but some days I need to charge it during the day.
I also experience restarts from time to time, maybe once a month or so.
My screen also got defect after a year or so, it has bright yellow spots on the left side.
So all in all not a great experience, but it works.
I think it's pretty much what to expect from such a "cheap" device, nothing more nothing less.
Same problem with my honor 7.
The battery is already finished. The phone now always switches off when it reaches 50% or 30%.
And security is very bad. When we get the Android security patches, it is always min 6 months or a year after Google releases them.
My Honor 7 is ok
I have had my Honor 7 from July 2016. I am happy, it has worked well. Now, one a half years on, the battery lasts a day but I do often have to top it up. My battery will go to 0% before it stops. Mine does not reboot like others have said. I have had issues with notifications but I worked out how to manage them, there are controls in the software. I do feel my Honor 7 is slower than it used to be. It does seem sluggish sometimes. But I still like it, it was good value. Overall I am happy.
2 years and still friends
I bought my Honor7 two years ago and It is still ok : I'am just upgrading to MM. The only problem is the battery, that doest last a entire day if I call, read and send emails (professionnal and personnal, so 40 times a day), and surf the web 2 hours... It stops only at 2% of the battery... But it is still responsive thanks to a good chip and enough memory (ram)... So I'am thinking about giving it a second life (extend the memory, change the battery and install a custom Rom like LineageOS, like I did on my old Galaxy note2 wich is still on duty)..
I hope this will help...
Hi,
Here's my experience :
- Previous phone was a Nexus 4 : Stock ROM, no bloatware, speed, many updates, the perfect phone for me !
- Before that I've got Xiaomi Mi 2 : MIUI is beautiful, fast, with many updates. And now MIUI is still a very good ROM.
- Why I'm presenting my previous phone ? To tell that Honor phones aren't like that... Honor don't update there phones, after 1 year you will not see a major release. And EMIUI is a mess, there is bloatware and system apps everywhere.
- I've got my Honor 7 since January 2016 and the battery is pretty bad now. I'm recharging my phone at the middle of the day to finish the day.
It was my first and last Honor/Huawei phone... I think I will take a Xiaomi next time

Exactly my experience too.. got mine June 2016..
What really disappointed me was the software (and the not so many updates) and the display/ general build quality. I had issues with my display and had to send it to honor 3(!) times until they replaced the display. The new one has errors (bright spots/broken pixels) all over it too now, but my warranty ended in November 2017 and its not worth replacing it. The volume buttons were really weird to click and felt unbalanced
The software just isnt good, the issue with notifications was already pointed out. Battery usage management doesnt seem to be great either
Besides that, most things were average or even good for the price, performance was mostly smooth and battery life was ok for me because Im not a heavy user.
I wouldnt recommened honor to anyone, however, I think there are better alternatives, also with better custom rom support to not depend on the publisher for good software and plenty of updates
Pretty pleased with my Honor 7, musst have bought it in 2016, when my Honor 6 quit on me(mic error, and I destroyed the phone trying to change it....my fault).Battery life on 7 has never been as good as on the 6.
I'm on 390, and currentlybattery drops from 99 to 75% after 1-2 hours use, browsing FB, Tapatalk, etc. Really like Themes for EMUI, changing gives the phonenew looks, almost like getting a new phone[emoji4].
Speed has been enough, usually hav 5-10 apps going. Guess the battery is ready to change, but....just ordered a Mi Mix 2 on sale, as I want to try abigger screen instead of dragging both a phone and tablet around when travelling. I recently got short on storage, and have an adapter which let me use both SIMs and and SD card simultaneously.Works, but a it slow, fine for storing media, though.
I have flashed a lot of different firmware during the years on other units, but stuck to official Rom on this. Looking forward to using the Mix 2.My wife has still her Redmi 3 pro running....

My honor 7 is fine.
I purchased honor 7 in 2015 October. It has been my one and only phone since then. It is working fine. I use it a lot each day. It has to be charged twice a day. I would say that it requires around 1.5 times full charge for whole day. There has not been any problem with the phone since the beginning. I keep 4G turned on for whole day on this phone. The only shortcomings of this phone are that it's rear camera pics are a little grainy. Secondly, it does not have dual SIM for the model that I have. The headphone jack is loud and clear for earphones but is not sufficient for even medium impedance headphones. The build quality is solid though I'm a careful user and have dropped this phone only twice so far. I do not use any cover as the back gets very warm sometimes.

Why Is This Phone So Laggy??

Snapdragon 855 & 8gb ram & still more Laggy than my old & ancient Huawei Honor 8x having the old 970 kirin processor. Google chrome is slow & Laggy. Typing on the keyboard is slow & laggy, Angry Birds from 5 years back is laggy as hell, any suggestion?
I've had the phone for just 3 days, bought from o2 store in the UK.
Anything I can do?
Mine isn't laggy at all, try bench mark the phone and make sure it lines up with some of the scores posted online to rule out any issues

What's that? After restarting the phone it helped but I shouldn't have to restart every day or two due to lag...
Mine isn't laggy at all, it's smooth just like my pixel 3 XL. Likely something you've installed or set the device up with?
Maybe a factory reset if it gets worse?
But very strange, brand new device just several days old.
Very minimal applications. Every day or two I must restart the device as the longer its used for the laggier it gets.
Even typing this message using Swift Key keyboard is laggy...
Never ever had this before with 20+ other Android devices. I've used much cheaper phones & even mid rangers being much faster.
I don't have any rogue applications. Any suggestion apart from factory reset?

I would factory reset and test. Once you're okay with everything, load one of your apps. Test.
This diagnostic route would be the best way to determine the issue.
Let me know how you get on
^ Thank you moozer, I'll do a factory reset & see how it goes...

As I thought even after a factory reset it's laggy as hell.
Web browsing is choppy, games and even texting.
I'll return the device & never again buy any OPPO product. I'll buy the Xiaomi K20 Pro having 12Gb ram & 512GB storage for just £380.
It's ridiculous having an OPPO Reno 5g having Snapdragon 855 & 8Gb ram yet laggy as ever.

That's annoying and such a shame. Return it to seller for replacement. Shouldn't be like that at all. Don't give up on OPPO - best device I've had (although that K20 is a bit peachy at that price. I paid £380 for 10x)

Laptops direct
I got mine for £440 at the last Black Friday sale from CPW - it's an excellent device and as other have said, have absolutely no performance issues whatsoever. It flies!
Just patiently waiting for ColorOS 7 ...
