You can unlock it at the AT&T unlock site, unless you get a warranty device from Microsoft, because AT&T is not given the unlock codes from Microsoft and Microsoft is playing dumb about it.

yeah, they are pointing fingers at each other. Microsoft warranty devices have this major issue with unlocking. Device is ridden with bugs and this att not unlocking is messing it up even further.

The Mozart I received from Telstra did not come carrier locked. It's my understanding that no WP7 handsets can be locked by the carrier, though this might just be a Telstra thing.

All the UK WP7 handsets are carrier locked, except the HD7 (as the carrier which has it provides SIM free handsets).
I successfully SIM unlocked my Orange HTC Mozart with one of the 3rd party online services within 20 minutes. Search the web.

Maybe its all those anti-competative names Telstra have been hit with over the last few years that has turned them around. Or maybe they just haven't figured it out yet.
Hopefully should be getting one of these phones today, just wanted to know if I had room to move. Cheers guys. I'll let you know how it goes.
Correct, Telstra aren't SIM Locking any phones anymore.
Hey guys thanks for the responses.
We got the first of the phones already and can confirm that they are indeed unlocked.
is there any difference between unlocking the phone from Orange UK and from web based unlocking people?
any idea about cost involved in either case?

he did unlock mine
the guy's name is secany on this forum
so u can send him a private message
Actually, don't have to PM me to check. You can check your phone can be unlock or not here:
http://www.nckzone.com/htc/index.php
Just type in your 15 digits IMEI and check, if it says Supernew records, then you can phone be unlock by "some" (NOT ALL) online service, I recommend here
http://www.nckzone.com , price is cheaper than other and most important is code comes in <5 mins.
If it says "No HTC tool is available for your IMEI" then you have to wait for about a week or two then try again.
Thanks Secany appearing on the horizon
I checked on the website mentioned secany and message appeared ""No HTC tool is available for your IMEI". But I found on this forum that Mozart can be unlocked. any body got mozart unlocked?
Like I say, some Mozart will give result supernew records, those units can be unlock right now.

How to Unlock ATRIX for going abroad?

Hi everyone,
I'm a UK user and will be flying to Dubai in a few days. Is there a ROM I can download that will unlock the ATRIX for me? I want to be able to use it in Dubai using a local network/sim.
Would I have to get a specific unlock code or could I just root the phone instead which would unlock it?
Orange customer. I need it unlocked asap.

No ROM/program. Rooting/bootloader unlocking are unrelated to sim unlocking.
You can try purchasing a sim unlock code from places online. I believe celluunlock or something is popular. But I remember seeing posts or threads that it doesn't always work or there long delays in getting the codes.
Other option is to call your carrier (guessing Orange), tell them your situation and ask if they can provide you an unlock code.

My SIM unlock took about 15 minutes and cost $20.00. The Atrix has been out for a while now. I suspect that SIM unlocks are pretty routine these days. If your carrier won't do it, or is too expensive, ask the unlocking people how long it will take.

Hi, There is no guide but you can instructions on unlocking a phone, there are a lot of methods available so for. I always suggest, for the unlocking, contacting our telecom service provider is the one of the ways to get the unlocking code or contacting service provider like theunlockspot.com might be an another way to get an unlocking code. The direct unlocking codes can be received in those two ways I mentioned. Thanks.

Truth about unlocking a Lumia 920

Hey guys, whats up ?
I'm planning on buying a used Lumia 920 from eBay and wanted to know if there is a legitimate way to unlock this phone.
I've read threads about AT&T not giving the unlock codes online anymore and that you have to be a customer in order to do so. Is this true ?
If so, what are other legitimate ways that i can unlock this phone, i really want to know this, Thanks for the help. Awaiting responses.

You can unlock it with code. You can buy that code from random sites. Search here or google.
It costs about 60 $.
Ok thanks for the heads up. Are there any FREE ways to get it unlocked ?
Some with at&t accounts, but i don't know about that. I have paid for unlocking.
As far as I know, there isn't any way for unlocking yet for free.

What happens to SIM lock if t-mo phone is flashed unlocked software?

As the title says, I have t-mo branded phone, will the SIM lock disappear after flashing firmware from unlocked phone? I don't think it will, but maybe? Also, how would you unlock such a phone then? Anybody knows?

Sim lock has nothing to do with the firmware
if you flash the unlocked firmware on the t mobile device, the actually t mobile unlock app will not be on the phone. however the phone will still be sim locked to t mobile. If you plan on unlocking it soon, stay on the t mobile firmware so you have the access to the unlock app in the t mobile folder. after you unlock it through t mobile, restart the phone and the app will go away. I'm not sure if you can unlock the phone under the unlocked firmware without that mobile unlock app.

It seems my Note 8 is not eligible for unlock. I purchased it on Ebay. Is there any other way to bypass T-Mo-s unlock app?

Try contacting cellunlocker, see if he can do it via a unlock code as per what the other person mentioned here.

You'll just have to find a way to get it to prompt if that is even possible. I tried a different sim and it give you a messaging saying you have to use the unlock app.
Have you made any progress?
I'm in the same boat.

Just an idea, perhaps flashing a different version would then allow one to get the prompt?

Part of me feels like that would be too easy of a solution. Not to mention I finally got mine unlocked via the app but through all the trials and tribulations with TMobile they did the traditional unlock code request. The email came back looking like others I have seen in the past except where it said "Unlock Code" it said to use the Unlock App on the device..
We are are still left with needing a code from TMobile.
So im in a similar situation. I've got a Tmobile Note 8 which i'm using on ATT. I got a tmobile sim from a friend and had tmobile temporarily unlock it for 30 days. I hope by flashing this firmware (https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-8/how-to/guide-sm-n950u-u1-t3685884) for ATT, i can get it permanently unlocked.
OR
If the Device Unlock app is frozen or unisntalled (via root), i wonder if it can still relock the phone.?
Did anyone figure out a solution to this problem (bought T mobile Note 8 on eBay and cannot unlock it!). Worst case, can I open a new T Mobile account for $70 per month and then cancel it after 40 days and THEN unlock the phone?
