Thanks for the great ROM. But I can I ask what vndk is / why is it necessary

Dev,
this ROM give notification "Serial console enabled Performance is impacted. To disable, check bootloader" after first boot,
is this OK?

Been waiting for this!!
Much love. Will try later today.
[Update] - All good. Thanks for your hard work! But i have the Serial Console notification too just like the guy above. Any input here?
[Update 2] - The same navbar issue that was present with the early builds of A10 is still here with this. I can''t seem to hide the gesture pill in the bottom of the screen. Not sure if that has to do with google dropping overscan but i thought this is worth a mention.. - Just FYI

Does OTA works with those kind of ROMs and also what's so special in those VDNK30 builds.

I've bought the device a week ago. The first thing I did is unlock the bootloader. 1 week today. So I started to look into installing a custom ROM. I must say that this device (or Mediatek) is quite tricky. I had to go through a lot of threads to figure the safe thing to do.
So, here it goes, to whom it might concern, this is what I've done to install this ROM from MIUI 11.0.5 (Android 9), from scratch:
(I made a .txt for myself before doing it, and it's mostly the instructions from Agent_fabulous' Megathread. With some modifications to work easily with this ROM, with what I've uncovered and the modified filenames).
POSP ROM INSTALLATION from scratch process for noobs like me
Migrate to CFW - Place all files to "work_folder" (adb)
- Download preloader_begonia.bin and lk.img from Megathread attachments
- Execute:
fastboot flash preloader preloader_begonia.bin
fastboot flash lk lk.img
fastboot flash lk2 lk.img
- Flash non-CFW recovery. Execute:
fastboot flash recovery twrp-nonCFW-3.3.1-0-begonia_UNOFFICIAL_3012.img
fastboot reboot
- Boot using power and volume up.
- Boot into recovery
- Wipe system, cache, dalvik
- Flash CFW, then flash CFW compatible ROM
adb push *.zip /sdcard and flash them
- Format data (not wipe, select "Format Data")
- Reboot to bootloader
- Flash CFW recovery
fastboot flash recovery twrp-CFW-3.3.1-0-begonia_UNOFFICIAL_0506.img
- Reboot! You're now on CFW!
fastboot reboot
Spoiler: Some useful CMD commands
cd filepath
adb devices
adb reboot bootloader
fastboot devices
fastboot flash recovery twrp.img
adb push *.zip /sdcard
And I'll attach all the files I've used. Drivers and all. Name is pretty self-explanatory if you've read the megathread. In the "work_folder" zip there are all files needed to do it all (including latest posp, twrp, cfw...).

Also... since this device is... well, special. What method do you recommend to root it? The "guides" I've found are quite old, when CFW wasn't the standard.
How do you install magisk? Just like with any other device? Flash it anytime? Also, what version do you recommend (I've seen problems with some versions)?

@adriakus flash it through recovery. Don't forget to wipe dalvik and cache after installation is done. Magisk 21.2 is a good choice.

I have successfully flashed the ROM into my device and it's looking good so far. I just have a problem with the SafetyNet. I am about to use Hide Props but I don't know which device FP I'm going to use. Any recommendations?

Having issues with voice recognition. "Ok google" is not working and is automatically getting re-disabled everytime I enable it like some older roms or rom builds. I'm sure this is a rom related problem and not Gapps related as I have encountered this many times before. Because other roms are executing this function fine with the same nikgapps build installed. It would be helpful if other users of this rom and the developers could tell me if they are also facing it and possibly guide me with a fix.
@Agent_fabulous

I'm on POSP 10. Is updating to 11 (without a clean reflash) possible and if so, how would i go about this?
To me the update section in the first post is not 100% clear. Does this refer to going from POSP 10 to POSP 11 or just updating minor versions?
Thanks for the great work! Running POSP 10 as my daily driver ever since I got the RN8P in October!

Just fixed the SafetyNet by using Pixel 4 XL (A10) FP and also used Pixel 4XL in forcing BASIC key attestation.
The root variant of Youtube Vanced is not working. It says the app needs google play services in order for the app to run. I switched to the nonroot variant instead.
There's an issue in the auto brightness feature also just like the other A11 roms... Either it will only change to 0% or 50% brightness.
Also, tigr's camera is working in this rom and haven't experience any issues yet. I flashed wyroczen's buffer fix in magisk before installing the camera.
This rom looks great and thank you devs for making such awesome rom for us to use and enjoy!

This is caused by missing camera driver for devices produced after July 2020

This rom is not that stable there is some feature cut like Audio FX, two key navigation.
Navigation button swap.
Also, Gapps are not available for Android 11. Flashing nikgapps Basic version have some issues like call screen bug.
Plus, You cannot play games like Call of Duty, Pubg Mobile, and these games on this version of Rom Cause There is problem of "Performance is impacted. To disable check bootloader" as appears in a sticky notification due to this Games keep stopped again and again after some time while playing game.
Please Consider...Fix
Meanwhile Rom is quite Awesome.

Assuming you're device is rooted with Magisk
1. Install Termux or any alternatives
2. Go to Magisk and install the MagiskHide Props Config (it's available in the online lists on modules) and reboot.
3. Go to Termux and type and enter su. Grant the app for superuser access.
4. Enter props then wait for the module to load.
5. Once loaded, enter 1 (Edit Device Fingerprint) then f (Pick a certified fingerprint) then look for Google then look for Pixel 4XL then choose the Android 10 version (Try using the A11. I just used the A10 because it was the original fingerprint of the ROM - coral ) once successfully changed, reboot.
6. Go again to Termux and open props. Enter 2 (Force BASIC Key Attestation) then choose Pick from device list and just like choosing the fingerprint - look and choose for Google and choose Pixel 4XL. Choose yes then reboot.
7. Go to Magisk and enable MagiskHide in settings. Go to SuperUser section then go to MagiskHide. Look for Google Play Services and just check the checkbox.
8. Check SafetyNet and let me know if it worked.

I can play Heroes Evolved smoothly with 55-58fps I disabled the message just long press the notification and turn off the notification. Just turn off the developer messages. I don't know if this will fix the issue you're having but it worked for me.
I don't know if this glitch causes by the app or the OS. I tried opening Just Dance Now and it automatically goes in landscape mode even if the app display is portrait. Hence the app will not open and just displays black screen. After troubleshooting, I figured out that the auto landscape is caused by my display size (small), I tried going back to the default size and voila, the app is now loading and functioning. Can someone try other portrait games/apps in small display size?

Hello,
Replying to this old thread makes me curious, so i took a look at the ROM (didn't know the 11 version exists).
I flashed and played with the Android 11 ROM and it's pretty good and stable.
Here's is all you need (should be moved to the 5/5t cross forum i think):
https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...to-open-sauce-project-android-11-0-r.4207541/
How i flash:
Latest TWRP: twrp-v3.5.2_9-0 (choose a color you like)
BACKUP (copy to a computer if doubting)!
Full wipe.
Install in this order:
1: Latest Firmware for 5T (dumpling): Firmware 10.0.1
2: GAPPS: I use Nikkgapps (more info): Pick what you want, i use: Core, addons that i need (Android Auto, Vanced Manager, Youtube Vanced, Youtube Music)
3: ROM: https://github.com/PotatoDevices/device_oneplus_dumpling/releases/latest
4: Disable Encryption: Disable_Dm-Verity_ForceEncrypt_03.04.2020.zip
Reboot, let the Rom settle a bit, setup google account, whatever.
What you can do once it works:
Root: Magisk (install latest Magisk.apk from TWRP)
Once you've got root you can do even more
Warning, it can be buggy and don't expect support from the makes of the ROM
LSPosed (xposed): install Riru from magisk manager, reboot install LSPosed from Magisk Manager, reboot
Gravitybox: install Gravitybox, open LSPosed manager, activate Gravitybox, reboot.
Hope this helps some people out here
Good luck

FAQ:
Before using the ROM:
Q. Can I have an ETA for the next build?
A. Yes, just look in the OP to see if your device is built on a nightly or weekly schedule.
Q. Does this ROM support custom kernels?
A. No. You can still use them, but discussion should go in the thread of the respective kernel. We don't offer support for bugs you might encounter while using them!
Q. Why doesn't this ROM support Xposed?
A. Xposed is a hack that is geared towards AOSP, custom ROM's modify the framework a lot, so Xposed can cause a ton of issues on custom ROM's. Now it might work for you, however it is not to be discussed in this thread, and you should refrain from posting bug reports.
Q. Alright, but I still want to flash Xposed, so which version do I need to install?
A. You will need to use the version arm64/arm/whatever for SDK 27.
Flashing the ROM:
Q. What do I need to know before flashing?
A. Check the install instructions in the first post...
Q. Can the builds be dirty flashed over each other?
A. Yes, however make a nandroid backup first as there is a chance of getting a bootloop or encountering bugs. Also bugs may only be reported on a clean flash.
Q. How do I dirty flash builds?
A. Wipe the System, Cache and ART/Dalvik cache. Flash the ROM, GApps (only needed if you wipe the system), your preferred root solution and reboot. Or just use the OTA app to preform that task for you.
Q. How do I flash kernel builds?
A1. If it's a .img file, boot into TWRP and go to the install page in TWRP, in the bottom right corner select "install image", select the desired kernel, then select "boot", then swipe to flash, then go back to the install screen and install your root method again, if you don't want to loose root and reboot.
A2. If it's a flashable ZIP, you can flash it together with a ROM update or separately. Go to the install page in TWRP, choose the kernel zip (or add it to the flash queue right after the ROM zip). Then add your root method to the queue if you don't want to loose root. Now swipe to flash, and then reboot.
Using the ROM:
Q. I installed a bad theme and now I'm getting a bootloop, how do I fix it?
A. In TWRP, flash the substratum rescue zip that's in the substratum folder on the internal storage.
Q. Do I need to provide a logcat if I'm reporting a bug?
A. If you want it to be fixed faster (or at all) then yes, you should definitely provide a logcat. (Note: Please just link the logcat from your GDrive, Dropbox, etc. and do not post the content here. Thanks.
Q. How do I get a logcat, what type should I get and more questions that can conveniently be answered by my pre-determined answer?
A1. Read this thoroughly. Also, here's a good app for getting logs: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tortel.syslog (Root needed).
The ROM should contain everything you need to enjoy Android. You don't need to install any Add-on's, simply download the latest ROM, GApps, flash it and go!
If you want the device to run the ROM "rooted", you can flash a root solution of your choice after the ROM Zipfile.
It is STRONGLY recommended to fully wipe your device before flashing and please avoid restoring system apps and system data with Titanium Backup as this can cause stability issues that are very hard to debug.
If you believe you know what you're doing - then fine, go ahead, but please don't complain if you experience any strange behavior.
- Backup your personal data (Important)
- Download the ROM and GApps and transfer them to your device.
- Boot to recovery (TWRP recommended).
- Wipe the System, Cache, Data and ART/Dalvik cache.
- Flash the ROM + Gapps Zipfile.
- Flash the root solution of your choice (optional).
- Reboot your device.
The ROM has GApps persistence in between dirty flashes, so you only have to flash them once!
The root solution should be flashed together with every update (= ROM Update)
Currently Supported Root Solutions:
Magisk stable
Magisk versions higher than 14.0 doesn't require flash on every dirty flash depending on the device, some devices need you to flash it every time, unless your maintainer says otherwise it should be fine

Good evening,
There must be a gap between the last O and one of the first P
My opinion is that you have to try, it rewards and encourages the person who has spent a lot of time trying to give the best of himself in this realization
So my answer, try
Just installed this ROM. Big up to the devs for bringing Pie to our bacon )
I am having trouble with the build.prop patching zip though.
Never mind, you can disable the software buttons by addin the line "qemu.hw.mainkeys=1" to build.prop.
when flashing the rom it is flashing with gapps pkg too which is giving me error in installation!
Works great. Is there a way to use the navigation pill?
Something in this ROM, (or actually @Agent_fabulous ROM) is causing abysmal Wi-Fi speeds.

See adaptive battery is a pixel exclusive feature but can be get by an overlay ... I'll add that animation too but for now adaptive battery is under Battery management in Battery section... Only diff is animation isn't present here

One of the two supplied zips gave a message while flashing that it's use is to disable the software keys. That didn't work, so I disabled it manually in build.prop. Not a big issue. Have to say though, this ROM is running smoothly with no major battery drainage
Couldn't get root access even with Magisk 16.7 or SuperSU. Any luck for others?

When I'm near the WiFi router and signal is decent, speeds are up to par with Oreo, but when the signal drops WiFi is indeed very unstable and slow.
Open Gapps? Which one? Platform? There is no for Android 9

Reporting Bugs
DO NOT Report bugs if you're running a custom kernel or you installed Xposed
Grab a logcat right after the problem has occurred. (Please include at least a few pages of the log, not just the last few lines, unless you know what you're doing.)
Include your firmware versions in reports.
Mention any and all Magisk modules you might be using along with the Magisk version
If it is a random reboot, grab dmesg . (Do not bother getting a logcat unless you can get it just before the reboot. A logcat after a reboot is useless)
If the problem disappears after running "setenforce 0" from a root shell, grab /data/misc/audit/audit.log
Remember to provide as much info as possible. The more info you provide, the more likely that the bug will be solved. Please also do not report known issues.

Kudos to the developers. A very nice ROM! I used LOS 18.1 for a while but this is MUCH smoother, faster and prettier - all around better. Many little kinks in LOS are not present here, I love it! I hope you guys keep up the great work and security fixes coming. Will this ever go official?

3)camera with device specific features such as slomo(which aint working in any custom rom yet)

Not sure about 1+2 but google camera works just fine on the X2pro with this ROM. All 3 lenses, portrait, panorama. Slowmo is not pretty but works.
The sound on this ROM is awesome, clear resonating stereo sound. There is only one little annoyance, the notification sound is VERY loud. I turn it down to the lowest setting but still get startled when I get a notification. Any way to turn the notification sounds down? (other than in the sound panel). Alarm volume is the same, media volume is fine.

Got it, will see what I can do.
Got the ROM installed and running great, much prefer it to LineageOS and especially stock ROM so many thanks for the hard work. One minor gripe I do have is that to have the network indicator in the status bar I must have the text showing the transfer rate. I can disable the arrows and leave the text but there's no option (unless I've missed something) to disable the text and leave the arrows which I would prefer. Any chance of this being added in a future build?

use magisk volume rocker module to accurate your volume needs. NB: it will root your device and maybe get uncertified in play store
I tried to do a clean flash yesterday and it looked fine at first glance but When I tried to install Google Pay it detected root and Whatsapp also mentioned this (I didn't ever root my device). On LOS I don't have this issue. Is there a way to prevent this without rooting my device?

Assuming that you got root with Magisk then make sure you've done the following:
1) Rename Magisk Manager app (in the settings of Magisk Manager)
2) Enable "Magisk Hide" (also in the settings of Magisk Manager)
3) Install the Magisk module "MagiskHide Props Config" and use it (read the module instructions THOROUGHLY) to set your device's fingerprint to the Realme X2 Pro Android 10 option.
Once you've done the above you should have root and be able to pass safetynet check. I am running this ROM with above config and have no issues with any app that normally detacts root (banking app, Google Pay, Paypal, etc)

Thanks for your the reply and explanation. However, my goal is to keep my device unrooted because I don't need it. I just installed the ROM and NikGapps Full and wiped data but as said root was detected by WA, Google Pay and some other apps. On LOS these apps work without root being detected.

Not sure what's going on then, maybe the apps are detecting that you've got an unlocked bootloader and LOS has some way of hiding that built in to it.
I just wanted to make sure: the AOD/ambient clock doesn't move, right? It could use a little bit reworking. The clock stays in one position and also the FOD is on all the time, which i think could lead to burn-ins in the display.
Or are there some hidden settings that i wasn't able to find?
Do we have Ambient display for new notifications

Stellar OS is an optimized LineageOS-based Android aftermarket firmware with extra features, developed by people all over the world.
Quoting the LineageOS description:
LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.

I'm not sure, as this is a android version jump, but it's worth to try.
In instaled it, its working perfectly. No issues at all until now. Thank you so much for keeping my moto g5 alive
I have one minor issue. It seems TWRP has been replaced by lineageOS recovery. I would like to keep it that way in orer to receive updates. I would like to flash and install magisk though in order to hide root so I can work with MS Oulook and such. I do not see the option in lineageOS recovery. Can I boot into TWRP recovery from adb/fastboot, and then fash it? or are there other options?

Have you hidden magisk with a random package name in its settings?
Does your device pass ctsprofile?
If not install magisk hide props module and terminal emulator. Once installed type props in terminal emulator and change the fingerprint to a pixel 4 android 11
Also hide the app that detects root with magisk hide

Yeah, I did all that, I think
- Hidden Magisk, named it Settings
- It passes SafetyNet, and ctsProfile (evalType Basic)
- I did install hide props, ran the emulator and changed the fingerprint. That was new to me.
I have hidden everything of outlook, company portal, etc, but it still I get the error doing my device check in the business portal. As I said, I can work around it. I really appreciate you helping me out but don't bother if you're too busy ;-)

Hi nift4,
awesome work!
My Moto G5 works fine - I've noticed a very long boot time (5 minutes), though.
I did a cleanup with formatting system, data and vendor, before I flashed this image. Maybe to much?

This is due to a slow driver, an issue that is known and present in all Android 11 builds for Moto G5, even official Lineage OS.
Idk if kernel 4.9 will get usuable any time soon, but that will hopefully resolve that issue.

Formatting system and data is an good idea actually. It prevents leftovers (on system, some things like Gapps packages store restore scripts). Formatting vendor is useless. No harm done, just time wasted.
Thanks for your replies and explanation!
It's amazing to see Android 11 on such an "old" device!

Yes. Jarl & wiktorek140 made it work near to perfect on montana and I am trying my best to replicate that on cedric. Jarl said he will only bringup 4.9 ports to LineageOS 19...
Flashed this to replace Mint 2.1 no problems. Even the Seedvault backup worked. Battery seems to last longer too. One strange thing I'm experiencing since I flashed Stellar is that whenever I reboot my phone I get 5 text messages within a couple of minutes from O2 (my mobile network operator) saying my number doesn't support Visual Voicemail. I've never used Visual Voicemail it in the past, wonder why I'm getting these messages?
Thanks

Probably because it's enabled by default in Android 11. You can disable it in Dialer settings, I think.
Thanks! That worked
Hi,
Thank you for your work !
My questions may be slightly off-topic... and from a newbie but I am wondering why SafetyNet is OK on this ROM (checked with an application, without Magisk installed) BUT some applications still refuse to work or complain :
- WhatsApp just warns my device is not supported
- HID Approve (an MFA auth. app) refuses to run
- My banking app refuses to enable basic features at launch
What kind of checks have been implemented within these applications (are they well-known ?) and is there a way to workaround these issues ?
Otherwise, I could relock my bootloader and reinstall Oreo Stock but I tried many times a few months ago and never managed to do it without losing my IMEIs (I have not done EFS backups before installing MintOS...). Any suggestion to make this work without buying another phone ?
Thank you !

NOTE: It is STRONGLY recommended to fully wipe your device before flashing and please avoid restoring system apps and system data with Titanium Backup (or with any backup/restore app) as this can cause stability issues that are very hard to debug, restoring regular apps is fine. As you know build is free but building ROM needs a server. And Maintaining source and device stuff needs a server and it's pretty expensive for a student. Yes, Yes, Yes
My device is on MIUI V12.5.10.0.RJSEUXM. It is vendor ok for Elixir 1,5?
Amazing ROM!!
Can someone compare this Elixir version to latest ArrowOS 12 version? Any pluses/minuses? I'm using Elixir for few days, but there are some microlags, unlocking screen is quite a bit slow, but otherwise no bugs found. I really like it.
Could anyone advise on which vendor to use and performance?
I'm on PE but no cameras work well and the proximity sensor doesn't work at all. Is this worth the switch?
Thanks
it's only charging at 7 Watts instead of the 30 watts

I am getting around 12w max on mine but doesn't go any higher. Rom is perfect for me in all other ways though.

Could you let us know if you had to use a particular vendor? Is it worth switching to this ROM? Cheers

Not sure how I could find out vendor but I was using V12.5.10.0.RJSEUXM Android 11 before flashing this ROM.
I would say it is definitely worth switching to this ROM, very stable from my testing without running into any issues so far, although I have only been testing for a few days. .
If there is anything you would like me to test on the ROM I'll be happy to try on my device and let you know how it goes.
Thank you for this rom, thank you for your work, everything works well for me, stable, good display time, well customizable, nice look.

Awesome thanks! I'm on PE so if I make the switch I'll flash that version of MIUI first to be safe!
Sounds worth it from your experience tbh, could you check if your proximity sensor works?
Also have you found a camera that can access all 3 sensors? (Or is the ROM camera any good?)
Cheers
Hoping someone can answer a question before I brick my device..
I want to switch to this ROM via MIUI 12.5.10 just in case, but I've never put a phone back to MIUI and I'm not sure if the ROMs are different.
If I flash V12.5.10.0.RJSEUXM before this ROM (just to be safe) - Can I use PE Recovery or do I have to use MiFlash? Is there any real reason to switch recovery or can I just keep PE?
I'm assuming I can just download MIUI from the updates tracker thread, then go into PE Recovery and:
format > flash MIUI > clear cache > format > flash Elixir > clear cache > profit
Could someone let me know the right method?
Thanks

I tested a call and proximity sensor works fine (screen turns off when phone is up to my ear and turns on when pulled away). Also tested using a Proximity sensor app in the Play Store which verified it was working as expected.
The ROM comes with Camera Go, which from my testing has all functions working as expected.

Not sure my experience will be much help but after unlocking my bootloader via Mi Unlock, flashing TWRP and using the steps in this guide to flash the ROM (skipping the Gapps stage as this ROM has Gaaps included)
How to install LineageOS on the Mi 10T Lite
Hey guys, if you're a noob or you haven't flashed a custom ROM to an android device since the likes of the Galaxy S2 like me, this guide is made for you! Disclaimer: I am by no means taking credit for any links posted, credits to the creators of...

Cheers I'm already bootloader unlocked and running Pixel Experience, but I don't know if Elixer needs the MIUI vendor (or if that's even something we're supposed to worry about these days!)
OK! So after a lot more reading I installed MIUI then Elixir
I needed 'Xiaomi ADB/Fastboot', MiFlash and ADB .. I'm dumping my steps below, including going back to MIUI, in case anyone can use these in the future!
Xiaomi ADB & Fastboot
- allow debugging on phone
- go to fastboot tab in Xiaomi ADB/Fastboot (phone doesn't need to be in fastboot mode)
- Download latest ROM (EEA for me)
MiFlash
- move ROM to C:/ and extract (this stops any path errors)
- copy path to ROM "C:/romfolder" (this is the extracted folder with files like "flash_all.bat")
- edit "flash_all.bat" and remove all lines before 'fastboot' lines (be careful, this removes rollback check!)
- paste ROM path into MiFlash
- select "clean all" at the bottom
- Flash ROM
After 497 loong seconds, MiFlash says "error" .. panic a little..
Then notice device reboots into MIUI .. relax a little ..
On device
- go through the painful MIUI setup wizard ...
- settings > about phone > mash "MIUI Version"
- go to back > additional settings > developer options > OK the message
- enable USB debugging
ADB
- run 'adb devices'
- check device shown
- run 'adb reboot bootloader'
- device reboots to bootloader
- 'fastboot devices'
- check device shown
- run 'fastboot flash recovery recovery.img' (make sure file/path is correct)
Turn off device
Reboot phone to recovery (power and volume up .. Pixel Experience recovery???)
- select factory reset
- format data
- select "apply update"
- "apply from ADB"
- flash ROM with 'adb sideload ProjectElixir_1.5_gauguin-12.0-20220308-1931-OFFICIAL.zip'
- go "factory reset"
- "format cache parition"
Back > Reboot
