new feature(s)
1. Battery Care can always charging limit to 80% or 90% (This feature also comes to other Xperia Android 11).

I also updated to Android 11, and seems ok, no regression I think. But I don't like the new notification that are divided with normal notifications, silenced and conversation.
edit1: well, i didn't found de SIM card option, to manage both sim card, but you can find directly the options SIM1 and SIM2. The feature of activation automaticaly call forwarding if not available or not reply is no more there, you have to set manually, that's bad :/ I really liked that option

About the SIM card option, I don't worry about that, I'm just single SIM user.
To me the new power menu is useless becaused GPay isn't available in Thailand yet thus the power menu just sit on top of the blank screen . But there're other e-wallet apps (and I use several of them). IF google allow 3rd party to make use of the Power menu GPay feature that not available in user's country (As a form of API). This can be a lot useful when I wamt a quick payment at 7-11.

Rollout has also started in the Netherlands, I guess. Received an update to 59.1.A.0.485 on my XQ-AU52 yesterday.

Any Sony users interested in trying my new script to make their Android 10+ system read-write-able for debloating and other deeper customizations? I'm curious if it also works on next generation Sony devices. Does your new Sony device have a super partition? Does it have fastboot? Then you're in luck.
With my new script you get full read write access to all partitions on your device. Then you can easily delete these annoying bloatware apps from your internal hard drive and make many more deeper customizations. Problem solved.
Always make a backup before you permanently delete a system app! You never know which one is going to cause a bootloop!

today received Version 59.1.A.2.96

2.1 Update, loss of functionality?

Hi I recently got an Xperia x10 from a store,no data plan etc. (not from a phone company)
however when I start the phone, the Rogers logo flashes and what not.
I am currently in Canada, (NA)
I used the installed application on the phone (PC companion?) to update my phone, and it runs on 2.1 now.
However, I can no longer use my chinese keyboard when typing, even though the settings for chinese keyboards and inputs are still there, I can no longer change the keyboard or have chinese as an input language.
Furthermore, I was using the wifi on my phone to access the android market to get another chinese IME and the aps never seem to start the download.
I was wondering if these are side effects of the 2.1 update, or maybe theres firewalls or something blocking android market access.
Any information regarding this is greatly appreciated,
I have no knowledge in the fields of unlocking or unbranding and haven't have done so with my x10.

hi,
you`ve lost chinese keyboard because when you flash your phone to the new FW he gets FW from Rogers, witch seems, don`t have chineses keyboard.
try to flash your phone with a generic FW and you will get that keyboard (i think, at least when i did that i have that one).
you can get the latest one HERE or HERE.
please make sure you´ve read properly all instructions
Or you could download and reinstall it - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=826849

I Will Lost all file in my phone?
Tried Evereything! Did find the best solution. OK Google works!
I just got adb tool and drivers and removed ALL of the bloatware including the voice assistant, store, cloud you name it. I installed Nova Launcher as that seems to be very good and most like Anroid 9 Pie in terms of customisation. Romoved oppo launcher of course and reboot.
Set up Google Assistant and then you have the option in the settings with Nova launccher to have it as enabled all the time and disco!
The only thing you can't do is wake it up from locked screen with Hey or O|k google. However as soon as you have swiped in and its had a look at your head everything is voice activated. You have to occasionly choose and confirm the app mainly at first time off using that command such as which clock (I had the system and google one) for timer and alarm sets and which calender or reminders etc and same with notes. However it is just a click 1 time and then you never notice you are using an inuriating chinese variant!
You have to block everything in the settings for the remaining stock apps that you either can't delete or shouldn't.
Also I think having an Oppo ID was useful and will be if anything goes wrong. Although I'm told all the apps and everything come back after a factory reset but you never know.
I'm actually happy with the phone now and enjoy using it ffor the first tome since getting it and being sorely dissapointed!!
'll try and answer any questions but there are lists and links on here ffor the adb platform tools, drivers and commands etc as well as a list of programs safe to delete which is a little outdated as there are now more but the risky ones iI still agree are probably not worth rocking the boat with.
Not sure about other launchers but I had loads installed and Nova came recomended and seems to be unique in being able to set the gogle assistant as default because otherwise I would have found a post like this one by now sureley??
Get it done, its life changing and low risk high reward!!
PS. You can now use any widget you want to your hearts desire with this configuration and so far nothing in chinese has popped up and its ully customised to my liking and very usable!!!

Device Backup advice

HI all, does anyone know of an app that works in the same way as the built in google backup works, except it saves to a local pc over wifi on a schedule?
The 15Gb cloud space is nowhere near enough for me but I have a server with plenty of space, so makes sense to use that.
I have seen a few apps that backup media, but I really want everything backed up (sms, app data, wifi passwords etc)
Is this even possible with a 3rd party app? My phone is a Honor View, The official huawei app (hicare) does most of them but needs the device to be plugged in via USB and I don't think it will let me restore to a non huaewi phone in the future.
Edit: forgot to mention, locked bootloader so not rootable

Yeah I'm afraid the backup solution you were searching for is one who needs root. But I can suggest something else. You can transfer the data you have on your drive (files other than backups) on your server, it will leave room for backups.
Otherwise you may wanna consider rooting, if it is possible with this Huawei model (that's why I hate Huawei, but don't get me started on that lol)
Have a good day
@flamery
1. No root mode is required to create a backup
2. Hint: Backup to an external SD-card. Use Super Backup app. It's a free-of-charge app.

BTW: To root device's Android its bootloader must not be unlocked. Has nothing to do with each other.
Thanks both I will check it out!
Although I just discovered something interesting, if you change the setting in Google photos from original quality to high quality they don't count toward the 15Gb quota so I just freed up a lot of space.

Question what is responsible for "update available" and how do i clear its cache and data?

im rooted. and for some reason yesterday i got a update (25 mb)available notification. and now it is bugging me every few hours to connect to wifi and update.
im not interested in new bugs and the april update has no benefit for me, so what system app is resposable for this and how do i , disable it, clear its cache and data. so it will go away?
maybe ill update in may, but it will be manually. or i will go to proton or some custom rom if google still does not fix dirty pipes by then
Disable OTA updates... if rooted you have many apps to choose from to do it.
On my stock Samsung phones it's the first thing I disable.
Autostarts can be used to find it, and presumably kill it on a rooted device.

If you have the option to clear the system cache try that. Try temporarily toggling Developer options off, sometimes it goes buggy.
Sometimes it's another system app doing it. Google play Services is always a menace...
From time to time I explore settings looking for things I missed... still finding stuff after over 2 years
With notification issues I eventually track them down. I don't upgrade and rarely update in part because I don't want to go debugging all over again.
From my experience on OnePlus, Google Services (e.g. play store and its system components) is used to push OTA updates. Sometimes you get this notification, sometimes you wake up to root being missing and a new, unwanted OS loaded.
Its a long jihad to get rid of all the Google stuff (and still have all your other apps work), but it can be done...

On Samsung's firmware upgrades/updates come through these 2 apps.

If the updates are coming through Playstore you can either disable Google play Services temporarily or use a firewall to block Playstore.

Question Questions before purchase, mostly call recording...

Hi,
This phone seems nice and a good value...
but I have a few questions before purchasing:
1. Call recording -
I'm form Israel so probably I'm going to get google dialer.
do you think manual call recording will be available?
also I read here that there are methods to get auto recording like:
* Install another dialer and some permissions granting via adb.
* installing Russian region rom.
* just using apps like cube acr.
my current phone is rooted and I did have rooted phones over the years but my previous 2 phones were not, and I would like to get back to that simplicity...
how difficult it would be to get call recording here without messing too much around?
2. How's the android auto, specifically wireless android auto experience on this phone?
coming from Xiaomi they have a nasty bug in the latest updates where there are disconnections from android auto on cell signal drops.
3. Anything else I should know? any red flags / bad experiences? are you happy with this phone?

Call recording is by default only in the Russian version, but in the export rom it is possible to get call recording by changing phone applications.
Spoiler: Rom type

Android Auto works via cable, but my car does not support wireless connection.
I am not a heavy user and very satisfied with this device.

ok so I see Israel = Middle East = "export rom"
so basically just need to install a dialer app form oppo / oneplus / realme and make it default?
like described here:
Call recording working in GT 2 pro ( no root )
Finally i found a method to record call on realme gt 2 pro global gdpr version, who is persistent at boot. No root, no bootloader unlock. Step one : install setedit from play store and add op_voice_recording_supported_by_mcc with 1 value...
