SM-G973F Firmware - where to find (sorry) - Samsung Galaxy S10 Guides, News, & Discussion

Grateful for help here as I am losing my mind! I'm a bit of a newbie and you can assume I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT I AM DOING.
My phone is stuck in boot loop after an update has seemingly gone bad. I don't know how to fix it but think the best course of action would be for me to flash it via odin using home_csc (does that sound like a good idea?).
However, I cannot for the life of me work out what firmware to flash it with and where to find it. I am based in the UK.

You can get the os officially from Sammobile.com.. it will be real slow to download but wait patiently..

Thanks! Firmware version?
Uploading...
I need the boot.img (kernel) and system.img from the latest firmware of zenfone 3 deluxe (zs570kl) 2,15 ghz. I have the zip but can't extract the files. It shows me error. Could someone dump the boot and system images?
EDIT. Solved
Eeeeeeeeeeeeeee
How to dump recovery image?
you could try to go to bootloader mode then run the command "Fastboot erase recovery"
Add nenbear59 GDrive folder for ZS570KL(Non-PRO/PRO) stock recoveries.
Has nobody uploaded the stock recovery for the ZS550KL? I've never done a dump before, but I'll get it done and edit this post later
I really need ZS550KL stock recovery version...

Android 8.0 Oreo update for US unlocked Galaxy Note 8 has leaked online

As seen on Sammobile :
"The leaked OTA requires the device to be on firmware version N950USQS2BQK2, which is the latest official build and only available for unlocked Note 8 units on Verizon at this point. However, to get around that limitation, any unlocked Note 8 owner can get the N950USQS2BQK2 firmware on their device by following the upgrade path suggested by the Reddit user. Also, this is only for the Snapdragon-powered Galaxy Note 8 in the US, if that wasn’t clear already."
"Naturally, we don’t support flashing unofficial software unless it comes directly from Samsung as part of a beta test program, so you’re on your own and would require some knowledge of flashing firmware (both via a PC and through the phone’s recovery mode) if you decide to try this out. What we can suggest is looking at a few step-by-step guides that seem to be making the rounds online with directions for installing the leaked Oreo build.
We would also suggest making a proper backup of your Note 8 via Samsung Smart Switch (or any of your favorite backup apps) before trying the test Oreo firmware, as you may have to wipe all your phone’s data (including images and other files on the internal storage). And, if you do install it, let us know how it works! To see what features Oreo is bringing to the Galaxy S8, check out our exhaustive What’s New With Android 8.0 Oreo series, which should apply to the Note 8 as well."
GREAT NEWS!!!

Android Oreo OTA (this is real)
"Hey, Here is a link to the Android Oreo OTA
https://samsung.firmware.science/download?url=48993/1488/SS-N950USQS2BQK2-to-U2CQL1-UP https://drive.google.com/file/d/1xTtsn6gcg4JEX2dYKPiXTWVhPiGPzIBn/view?usp=drivesdk
Before you can do this build you will need to be on 2BQK2, so to get to that you need this build: https://samsung.firmware.science/download?url=48993/1488/SS-N950USQU2BQJA-to-S2BQK2-UP
ODIN for BQK2: https://drive.google.com/uc?id=19gW_CxUf2HdL4UYyxTkyOnBY8cluRIVS&export=download
this file for BQJA is on SamMobile, SamFirm, and Updato. These are OTA updates besides the flashing required in that.
I currently have an S8 on the Oreo beta and will be buying a Note8 this weekend because of this. I AM SO EXCITED!
Oh just a side note, this may be unstable and crash, you have been warned."

Hopefully Exynos Oreo will get leaked too ?.
If anyone tried it already, how is it? Any new features?
I tried this. I get errors on the oreo update. I just odined the AP, CSC, and CP so i take it i need to odin BL rest to get this to work. I'm a little hesitant because of having an unlocked phone so if a unlock BL exploit comes I don't want the inability to odin back to unlocked BL. Not sure if it's possible or if it increments

Rolling back my LG V30 to Android 8 (Oreo)

I have an app that does not work after Android 8 that I need and there is no replacement in 9 or above. I managed to avoid updating my v30 to v9 and later for a year or so. It accidentally allowed the update to 9 this past weekend while I was camping. All I want to do is roll back to stock v8 or 8.1 (Oreo).
I have enough tech knowledge to follow directions and understand rooting but am having a really hard time finding the "right directions." As I was reading some of them, I found caveats like, "Use X unless you have the delta update and then use Y but not if you want to run Z. For Z, you have to follow this other thread." I also know that using the wrong settings or data file could brick the phone.
So, I'm hoping someone can help me narrow down what sets of directions I need to follow.
Here's what I have right now:
LG V30 (VS996) On Verizon Network
Developer Options Enabled
Android V9
Security Patch Level August 1, 2019
Kernel Version: 4.4.153
Build #: PKQ1.190414.001
Software version: VS99630c
Again, all I want to do is roll back to stock v8 or 8.1 (Oreo).
Bonus would also be a way to stop asking me every day to update or delay a day and just wait until I manually do it.
Thx in advance!!
Download the right firmware file for your device from here -
Models - LG-Firmwares.com
Free archive of LG firmwares. Comparison of features and reviews of all mobile devices. Quick download of updates for your device.
lg-firmwares.com
Then download the flash tool from here -
LG Flash Tool Free Download - Official Download Links
LGUP tool is the latest version of LG Flash Tool that allows users to flash stock firmware on LG smartphones and tablet devices. Download LG UP tool 2018 from the official download links.
lgflash.com
Follow the instructions on both the pages. I think you can take it from here.
Note that implied with this process is that you cannot downgrade your firmware without wiping the phone... there's no way to "patch" back to the old version. So, be sure to take backups FIRST.
If you're rooted on the old firmware, you can then disable/freeze/delete the update APKs so that the update warning goes away. But this requires root, so be aware of that. If you don't haven't rooted already, then this is a process of its own, and will require you to go back to Nougat in order to perform that, so you may want to do that before installing the final version of the ROM you want. You can find out how to do this rooting process on the WTF thread, post #193, located here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...ar-instructions.3790500/page-10#post-76584629
If you don't want to root, that's fine, but then you must endure the update warning process... unless you can find another way to disable the update APKs.
Thank you both. I expected to wipe the phone so that's not an issue. I will first install Nougat, root and then update to Oreo.
There are about 14 Oreo ROMs on that site. Do I just pick the latest one or do I have to pick the earliest one and update that?
Pick the latest one.

Question How to local upgrade from Android 11

Hello everyone,
I tried to upgrade my Nord 2 (EU) device from Oxygen Updater and I downloaded 11_C.01 zip update file, but the instructions given from the app for local upgrade lead to nothing.
The apk that the app suggested can't be installed as my device runs Android 11 and recovery mode says that the version is older as the current (I have 11_A.21, how is it possible?).
So I want your help to update my device, thank you in advance!
You need to wait the new update for A12 which will have android security patch newer than 11_A.21. Or downgrade to 11_A.20 which have lower than 11_C.01. So will update without issues. The reason is that 11_A.21 is newer than 11_C.01.OnePlus development schedule....
Btw, DN2103_11_C.08 is available for some users.

To downgrade from A.21 to A.20 you can use the excellent guide from @Raygen:
[STOCK][FULL-ROM] OxygenOS_11.3_A.20 EU DN2103 | Unbrick guide
/* * Your warranty is... still valid! * I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards, * thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. * Please do some research yourself before asking or use anything on this...

Question How do I get the stock firmware for the S23 Ultra

I have a SM-S9180 device which supports the OEM unlocking feature. I have visited this page to research the methods to procure the stock firmware for the rooting process, but most of the download links were either duds or required registration. I shouldn't have to register on some shady site to get the firmware for my device. All I wanna do is root my phone so I can install Xposed modules. Just seems like a massive PITA for this series.

You've nailed Samsung's description when it comes to rooting their devices compared to other brands.....
As for getting firmware use frija, it's available here on XDA and GitHub too (I think)
