What are the chances of Galaxy S9+ receiving unofficial Android P beta build

It’s unfortunate Samsung decided to leave their flagship smartphone out of the fun with Android P beta.
Do you think we will see an unofficial Android P beta any time soon. There was a story about a device receiving a unofficial build with DP1, what are the chances? Any developers working on it

I would not expect to see it unless you are on the Exynos version. And even then.... Prolly not.
Forget about it. As in the past: You will receive Android 9 from Sammy after 9.1 will be released by Google. Final version of P will be released together with Pixel 3, so I speculate that nothing will happen until 03/2019...
Probably have a better chance at winning the lottery lol
I think end of October some CSC will get a beta P test, like on S7 and on S8.
Final version mid or end of Q1 2019.
I would assume if it says "beta" in it we wouldn't get it until it's a final version at least.
I have it (android P) on my Pixel 2 and have to say, meh...nothing special. Horisontal recent apps are harder to handle, more colorful, clock on left side. Only good things are new font and turn phone face down to do not disturb auto. Stick to 8.0 on sammy and enjoy

Stratos Version Numbering (cn vs en)

I don't quite get the idea how they are managing their versioning.
currently as we speak
EN - 2.3.2.7
CH - 2.0.17.1
in development terms the english version is supposed to be a much newer release in comparision because the minor version number (second digit) is already progressed to 2.3
unfortunately i can't seem to find any good changelog or any sort of information regarding the differences and which version is newer or more sophisticated. is there anyone who can shed some light into the dark?
goes like this:
CN branch has 2 sub-branches:
1. weeklies
2. monthlies - stable releases
the US one has 2 as well:
1. closed beta - when available
2. release stage - when its ready
now ... it starts to get interesting:
weeklies are piling up, until there's enough to push it into a monthly/stable one.
after a while, usually after some 2/3 stable CN releases, they getting into the US beta stage, tested on a closed group, and then the stable US gets released.
so ....
weeklies for the brave for the CN, monthlies for the not so brave CN users, closed group of intl users when it arrives, and finally, we all getting the intl steady.
usually the intl steady goes once per 3~4 months.
Actually I think they use a bigger number in International/EN version so user cannot downgrade to CN version... :silly:
Basically, EN version has Strava support while CN version has some features that only work in China, like MiHome and AliPay integration, but also some cool features like voice cue (only in Chinese). This nice features usually appear first in CN version, then eventually go to EN version after a few months.

still does not explain the version numbers....
basically CN will always be newer, even though he version numbering is lower...
when i check out custom OS and they list they run on 2.0.17.1, while eng is on 2.3.2.7 it's really hard to figure out which version is actually the newer one...

EMUI 9 For Honor 9

Will the honor 9 get EMUI 9? Various reports differ.
They previously said honor 9 will get pie in a second wave.
First wave, for honor 10 / P20 and some others, is now advertised to be coming this weekend, at least for chinese firmwares.
I'd predict q1 of 2019

At least in Germany, maybe more european regions, a Beta is starting today, called DE-Honor9-EMUI9-FUT.
Seems to be limited to 200 users.
Same in Italy with a different name
So, the 200 slots for the German project are filled, now i am curious how this will work out.
Wonder if this is where we start to see project treble being used by honor on the 9

So far I know, treble was introduced with Android 8.0 (Emui 8) on this device.
Treble is being used. That's how I actually go a security update in the month it was issued. (377 on the 28th).

Is the image available somwere and is it possible to install without being a member of the beta group?
well I'm #2 in BETA-Slot and I'm still on "pending", didn't receive beta update yet.
I too had a very early slot (<10) in the beta-project, but right now i cannot even see it in "avaiable projects" anymore, which is a bit strange.
in what firmware you were before entering the beta program? i´m on 377 and the beta doesn´t appear to me.
I was on 377 too ... and unluckily, i still am.
The FR friendly user test also just disappeared from the Beta app. Currently 26 participants so I thought I would be in today
As for me, the (German) Beta still shows in the app, also the message that I applied and it's now on waiting for approval... which will probably never gonna happen, as it says, the 200 slots are already full.

it is the same for me still pending
I'm curious to see if this device and devices which got upgraded to Treble by Huawei will receive more updates than usual (2 major versions on high end/1 version in midrange-low end). If they will continue to follow the old trend, EMUI9 with Android 9 is the last major version upgrade this device will see from Huawei. After the bootloader fiasco they should support at least another major version, to make up for the inconvenience, but we are talking about a chinese money making machine, which only cares about money, so will see.

Considering the Honor 9 being a midrange product, i assume, the now coming second major update already is the "benefit" of project treble. I doubt a third one will reach us, but i would not mind being wrong on that point.

Question I have a question about 12l

So having the pixel 6 should I use Android 12l? I actually have it on my pixel 3axl and it doesn't seem to matter much. Infact the first beta was completely stable in my experience. So I know it's for tablets and foldables but would there be any advantages to using it on the p6?
Also why make a separate version for large screen devices they had that with honeycomb and did away with it with ics it almost feels.like they are going backwards. I was hoping by now to have all Google made devices on fuschsa by now or at least on their way.
A little effort on your part would have led you to this thread here;
No sign of Android 12L beta for pixel 6 series!
Seems Google is struggling with pixel 6 series.:) First the critical Dec release was delayed/not yet reached to many ppl. Secondly, no sign of 12L beta on pixel 6. All is not well with 6 series.
