One UI 3.1 update rolling out to the Galaxy Note 20 series - Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Guides, News, & Discussion

A few hours ago, Samsung announced that it would soon release the One UI 3.1 update to its older smartphones, including the Galaxy Note 20 series, Galaxy Note 10 series, Galaxy S20 series, Galaxy Z series, and several Galaxy A series devices. Earlier today, it started rolling out the update to the Galaxy S20 series, and now it’s time for the update to reach the Galaxy Note 20.
The South Korean smartphone giant has just started releasing the One UI 3.1 update to the Galaxy Note 20 and the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra. The new software update is rolling out to the smartphones in Germany and Russia right now, but we expect the rollout to happen in more markets gradually. The new update carries firmware version N98xxU1DUB5 or N98xxU1DUB6, depending on the region.
The One UI 3.1 update brings new features to the Galaxy Note 20 series, including Private Share, improved Single Take, object eraser tool, the ability to remove location data from images while sharing them. It also brings minor UI changes to the phones, but features like Director’s View or Google Discover Feed are missing.
If the update hasn’t reached your Galaxy Note 20 or Galaxy Note 20 Ultra yet, you can check for the software update manually by navigating to Settings » Software update menu and then tapping on Download and install on your device. Alternatively, you can also download the entire firmware from our firmware section and flash it manually.

Already running it rooted on my US U1 note 20. Absolutely love it

Unfortunately I think you're only reading what you want to hear. The Note 1 is no longer supported. It will not receive an official update anymore. The page you link to is referring to a custom rom based on android 4.4 kit kat. Check out this link. It says what samsung devices will be getting the update and when.
Here's the gist of it:
First Batch of Recipients
Samsung Galaxy S4 and Galaxy Note 3 are expected to get Android 4.4 KitKat firsthand and will directly benefit from various new system enhancements and improvements.
Second Batch of Recipients
After Galaxy S4 and Galaxy Note 3 received their updates, two former flagship devices will follow - the Galaxy S3 and Galaxy Note 2
Excluded Devices
Sadly, there are several popular devices too excluded from Android 4.4 KitKat update and it includes Galaxy S2, Galaxy S, Galaxy Note 1, Galaxy S2 Mini and Galaxy Minis. Due to the 18-month update window strictly followed by manufacturers, Galaxy S2, Galaxy S and Galaxy Note 1 are unable to receive any further updates but owners may resort to custom ROMs to get latest features. Galaxy Minis are unable to receive such upgrades due to hardware issues or incompatibility to the upcoming version of TouchWiz UI.
Sorry for the bad news.

Lollipop for Grand 2

Samsung has done an excellent job delivering the Android 5.0 Lollipop update to the Galaxy S5, turning a new page in the book of Software Updates. We already know that the Android 5.0 Lollipop update will be provided to all the galaxy flagship devices including the Galaxy Note 4, Galaxy Alpha, Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy S4, but it seems that Samsung might be planning to show a little love to its mid range galaxy owners also. In a new report from our sources at Samsung, it has been indicated that Five Mid Range devices are also being considered for the Lollipop 5.0 update. The devices that were lucky enough to make it are – Galaxy Grand 2, Galaxy Note 3 Neo, Galaxy S5 Mini, Galaxy Mega 2 and Galaxy Grand Prime.

If Samsung releases Android 5.0, then I might be the king of the UK as well.
No, Sammy won't.
Dismiss the rumors. Does anybody remember the rumored Sammy Poland list showing the Grand 1 as a candidate for a 4.4.x update?
Forget it.
We needed it

nice our prime will get lollipop
My sm-g7105 hasn't received the 4.4 update yet.
Do you think the touchwiz nature ux 2.5 would be upgraded to 3.0?
So guys, now there shouldn't be any hopes left of getting an official lollipop update.

great ... lollipop is an excellent version of Android ... we hope you will reaffirm this here ....
24.80 mb update fixed the bugs but no lollipop for grand 2
Guys 24.80 mb update was a clever update by samsung as they were planning for big os upgrade for this device but due to huge number of devices releasing every year, hence they were unable to provide the upgrade and just sorted the bugs with this minor update. You may say its the last grand 2 update. Here is the source website:https://www.justaboutphones.com/sams...ate-cancelled/

J4+ is getting android 10

Samsung is rolling out android 10 for its flagship S series phone ,A series , J series , M series and tab series.
We can't be sure what to expect from this update for our j 4+ because one ui performs very poor. Lets hope it makes the phone little more usable.
Do you have any official Samsung link confirming this?
Since 10 is rolling out to J4 and J4+ still isn't listed... no I don't think so.

More Galaxy S21 camera features come to Galaxy S20, Note 20 series

Samsung launched the Galaxy S21 series earlier this year with impressive camera features. Now, the company is rolling out some of those camera-related features to its older high-end smartphones, including the Galaxy S20 series and the Galaxy Note 20 series, via a new software update.
With the new update, which is rolling out in Germany right now, the Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20+, Galaxy S20 Ultra, Galaxy Note 20, and the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra have received new camera features. Users can now capture portrait images in low-light conditions, something that was earlier possible only with the Galaxy S21 series. The Night Mode also works with the ultrawide camera.
The company has also added three new effects in the Portrait mode: backdrop, high-key mono, and low-key mono. These studio-like effects let you change the background color to black, white, or a random color that is chosen by the camera app. In Night mode, users can now let the camera choose the exposure or use the maximum possible exposure. Moreover, the ultrawide camera can now be used in the camera’s Pro mode.
For those who were hopeful of getting the Galaxy S21’s Director View on their Galaxy S20 or Galaxy Note 20 series phone, there is some bad news. None of those phones have received the Director’s View feature, most probably because of limitations in the processor’s ISP (image signal processor).
The new software update has firmware version G98xxXXU7DUC7 for the Galaxy S20 series and N98xxXXU1DUC8 for the Galaxy Note 20 series. If you are in Germany, you can check for the update on your Galaxy S20 or Galaxy Note 20 series device by navigating to Settings » Software update and tapping on Download and install. The update could roll out to more markets over the next few weeks.

Will the Tab S6 get OneUI 5?

Will the Tab S6 get OneUI 5?
It is such a great tablet. OneUI 5 would make it supergreat.
Unlikely but I won't complain if we get more updates. What's new in 5?
It just feels very fast and fluid on my S22 plus. It is a noticeable difference with the change.
I am afraid not. The Galaxy S10 dosen't have the chance, so the Tab S6 is very likely to stay in OneUI 4.1.1 (Android 12L)
No, the Tab S6 will not get the Android 13 update. It has not been mentioned in any update list by Samsung

I am looking forward to LineageOS for Tab S6. I believe it will save many old devices.

no
Samsung at that time promised 3 years of software updates + 1 year of security updates. S6 started whit android 9 in 2019, so logic dictates no (sadly). Last update (T865XXU5DWC3) might be the last update in general.
