Project Sakura is a custom ROM based on Lineage OS, It tries to remain true to it while also providing some more functionality and UI changes. Its sole purpose is to provide a platform which is powered by Lineage and is more customizable than Lineage.

I am using NikGapps Stock and they are working without any issues. I just don't build with gapps because there are also users who don't want gapps on their device.

ok, did not know about that . then will take a look when i have some free time on the weekend.

This ROM has been my daily driver for awhile now, I tried all the other Android R ROMs and this is by far the best with battery life, snappiness, and customization. THANK YOU SO MUCH for the continued support and keeping up with the security patches! It's really appreciated for a cheaper device like this, keeps it running great for long past anyone expected!

Hello friends ... you have also seen this happen in every operating system .... When we moving any apps to sd card, their floating widgets were disable in the system ...... Is there a way to An application that is on an external card but Still keep its floating widgets active on the home screen? My android is 4.2.2 and rooted ... Of course, this has nothing to do with the system being rooted.

It's common to use magisk for rooting.

Using the latest released on official website, being my main driver now. Everything is good, Netflix available on PlayStore, MagiskHide working. Many thank to the developer!

Just flashed this and seems to work well with no noticeable issues as yet. . One question, as I was not prepared for the Lineage OS recovery to overwrite TWRP. Is the Lineage Recovery as flexible as TWRP? I did have the Slot A/B compatible version of TWRP, obviously not anymore. Ha.
edit: Never mind, sorted itself out. No idea how but on reboot to recovery from within OS, booted into TWRP.

it is stuck on boot screen after update and i have no idea what am i supposed to do.

If you installed gapps and updated via OTA it may have issues bc the gapps aren't installed after the update so the phone is unable to read data bc the gapps where some data is from aren't there anymore. Next time after OTA don't boot to system directly, instead boot to twrp, install your gapps package and then boot system. Or you install the whole update zip + gapps via twrp (easiest way)

I personally recommend to flash twrp directly after flashing the rom because else some ROMs (like sakura/lineage/...) overwrite twrp with their own recovery. If you just flash twrp after flashing the roms zip it should have no issues
That twrp worked after rebooting once to system is related to the A/B slots technique, if you want that I explain that more just say it and I'll explain it

I have used several OS's based on Lineage they all flash a lineage recovery. After installation, I typically restart into fastboot. Then use fastboot to boot a TWRP image and once in TWRP sideload the TWRP.zip.
Or insert your preferred recovery program.

Where can I find NikGapps?
I have had GPS issues with every OS I have tried that did not come with GAPPS. This must be a GAPPs issue. I have searched for a solution but haven't found one.

Can you try nikgapps.com or opengapps.com ? I've had that issue with bitgapps too but nikgapps fixed that. I didn't try opengapps but it's worth a try

Booted on s9+ but the rom is like stock aosp no features or anything, maybe because it is still on beta

Do you mean this ROM is intended to be feature-rich like Havoc, Liquid, PixelDust...?
Boots on Blu Vivo XI.
Hello Goodnight.
I previously installed GSI roms.
but now I try to install with the usual procedure
for my G9600 S9
but I can not get into the system
it always stays in the logo and never passes from there.
I already wait more than 25 minutes and nothing.
- STEPS FOR INSTALLING GSIs:
Download the desired GSI (it MUST be A-only_arm64 Variant)
Unpack it if it wasn't in .IMG format
Wipe DATA, and reboot in TWRP
Go to TWRP , Install , Install IMAGE
Pick your GSI and select SYSTEM IMAGE
Install the kernel for GSI GSI Kernels
In TWRP mount System, then go to ADVANDED, File Manager, and delete this file: system/bin/rw_system.sh
Reboot system
What is wrong?

Until May I was able to compile Bootleggers, Havoc and Liquid. Since then, sepolicy and other specific issues are blocking building or booting later. I like featured rich ROMs and I could help to compile Titanium, although my knowledge is not enough to help you, devs.

First you need BRK3 vendor , and flash aosp kernel not gsi , the best kernel is Endurance-Kernel-AOSP-1.2.30.zip
First, wipe system data cache and then flash vendor then flash the rom then flash kernel the magisk then reboot ot will work fine , no need to delete rw_system or anything

A few notes before you proceed:
Before going straight to the downloading, there’s something we would like to tell you. We have changed the default encryption method for the phone, migrating to File-Based Encryption (you can get more information from the official Google documentation page). In order to get this encryption mode working, you will need to use our custom recovery (compiled from the latest source) which is compatible with this encryption and, just for the first time, you will have to wipe your internal data, so backup your data before proceeding.
Installation Instructions:
Grab our recovery and install it.
Through TWRP Recovery:
Install Zip > Install Image > Choose ‘recovery.img‘ > Select partition ‘Recovery’ > Swipe to confirm flash
Through Fastboot:
Code:
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
Install the ROM and then wipe your internal data partition.
Through TWRP Recovery:
Wipe > Format data
Through Fastboot:
Code:
fastboot -w
Reboot into system and wait until the process finishes, it could take a little bit. After the installation is done, I suggest waiting before using the phone because it usually goes into thermal throttling after installing a ROM.

Installed it with no issues and so far so good. It's a complete rom, has everything i need even gray scale reading mode. Didn't notice any battery drain for now, but still i always enable agrressive sleep and standby. Will give any further thoughts after i used it for a while. The onyl thing is that the simple gapps do not work on this rom, had to use open gapps.

Oke so my review in short. The rom is as most roms just fine. For my usage i have no bugs to report. The only slight potential donwside might be that the battery life was not as good as on pixy or superior os, but its not far behind. However this might be due to, I've used a lot more lte with this rom than on those since I'm back to work form vacation, and second that my battery might be giving me slight signs it'll need a replacement soon. So take the battery thing with a grain of salt, try it your self first and compare.

Hi, thanks for the ROM, runs great from the short time I had on it (forgot to get gapps package) when I got opengapps 9.0 stock it said that the ROM needed opengapps for 8.1, same with Pico, pretty confusing. Any help would be great
Gapps issue
I even tried Simple Gapps, thinking maybe they would work. Will try 8.1, but it definitely won't use 9.0 gapps. BTW, I downloaded the nano gapps. Other than that, this rom is absolutely beautiful. It is fast, and it is just a very good-looking rom. So, I hope you keep working on this. I can't say enough about how quick it is. So, thanks, and I hope the gapp thing can be worked out. Okay, what ended up working was ARM 8.1 gapps. NOT arm 64. Not sure why or how. Just FYI. Thanks.
I shall be trying this ROM out soon. I have to flash gapps 9.0 arm 64?

MoKee Open Source is the biggest non-profit Android Open Source development team in China, with members from all parts of the world. We follow the latest development from Google closely and improve various parts of Android according to the user habits. Being a non-profit organisation, we utilise our spare time and own funds to keep this passion alive. Therefore, the costs for the forum and servers are solely beared by us. In order to provide a good user experience, we only included a few preinstalls in the ROM. Along with the advertisements in the forum; we hardly get enough to pay for the bandwidth. The point is, those are our only source of income, however many developers choose to exclude them when releasing unofficial builds. Unlike CyanogenMod, we did not accept monetary help at the early stages, as in China, most people do not understand the meaning of “making a donation”. They would think of it as buying a service, which is conflicting with our objectives. Anyways, we still made it until today, and even started to provide third party developers a chance to utilise our OTA system. All of these are the fruit of our hard work and passion. We are proud of the happy users, and we are also proud of the support given to MoKee Open Source. Most importantly, we are proud of the improvements we have achieved all these while, and the advancements never stop.
I AM NOT THE DEVELOPER OF THIS ROM AND I ONLY MAKE THIS THREAD FOR XDA COMMUNITY. IN ANY CASE, MOKEE AND GuaiYiHu HAS ALL THE RIGHTS OVER THIS ROM.

This is nice, but I think the flashing method is "copy pasted" from original site, and therefore will not work on this device. But i am not sure.
what i meant that wont work is that this device's normal flashing method requires a lot of reboot to recovery, while the OP's instructions is for A devices only.

Actually 7A is A-only device, working as system-as-root.
The OP's instructions are right, cuz I installed it this way and everything works fine.
Thank you this is a good step forward. I'm going to try this rom later this evening.
Wipe data of format data?
Coming from stock MIUI 11 Android 9 do I have to format the data partition or to wipe it? Usually MIUI to AOSP needs a format.

Alright my bad, but flashing a gsi rom, we need to restart a lot(wipe, reboot to recovery, flash gsi, reboot to recovery, flash zips, reboot to system)
While this rom is installed in a traditional way (wipe and flash just like the old days) if someone can explain why itll be really appreciated.
I am really new to GSI and this phone but i am willing to help testing stuffs for development for this device! only if TWRP restore function works

cant download twrp, I cant create a QQ Account, evrytime i try to verificate my phone number it asks to send an sms to a chinese number but that doesnt work. can someone reupload it on some other cloud service?
I appreciate your work, but TWRP is impossible to download, not with all these chinese characters. I see a QR code but I want to download to my PC first.
Even google was unable translate it

I used twrp LR team from gsi post and worked with this recovery.if you need root download su add .magisk don't work...
Newest Magisk seems to be working through recovery at least work for me for installing NanoDroid.
There seems to be problem with setting up mobile hotspot. Mobile hotspot cant be seen or accessed with SSID either.
ROM also lacks possibility to have navigation bar binded.
Is it possible to use the SD Card as internal storage with this rom? It's more or less the single reason I'd flash a different rom for.
the batery life it is much smaller than miui's
I flash the rom following the instructions, but my cel doesn't boot, only reboot and boot to twrp, i'm only flashing the system without su, magisk or gapps, but it's the same, what can be wrong?

The same, doesn't boot, it's curious because the GSI roms doesn't work for me too, i don't know why. I'm coming from MIUI 11, but i rollback to 10.2.5 so shouldn't have problem with this, but i have.
I rollback with MiFlash Tool with fastboot rom global
EDIT: I get the GSI Rom working, just format DATA and type YES on TWRP
EDIT2: After make the DATA reset with TWRP i was able to boot with the MoKee Rom :3

Help. i tried to flash this ROM and my phone have bootloop.
I was a long term user of Pixel Experience ( Android 9 / Pie) and enjoyed it's stability. As it is no longer maintained I thought I would try out some of the latest Android 10 / Q ROMs to see how they compared. I still kept the zip file for Pixel on my SD card by way of a fall back if I wasn't happy with the latest unofficial Android 10 ROMs.
I gave Havoc OS a try for a few days and to an extent I liked it with the ability to very much set up the ROM as you like with multiple customisation options. I , however, found that the overall experience wasn't very good with quite a bit of lag and some random crashes of apps etc. I am sure with future updates it will be a much better ROM and I may well give it another try out.
After Havoc I went back to Pixel Experience for a few weeks until the next unofficial Android 10 ROM was released. Thus far I have been very happy with Lineage 17 with no bugs , lag , crashes or issues at all thus far. The only slight grumble is that the music app widget is not really required on the ' 2nd page ' and indeed was just a big black blob. I deleted it straight away. I will probably continue to use this as my daily driver for some time to come and give thanks to @jeferson1979 and any other Devs who contributed for all their hard work and for us to be able to keep our old Harpia phones going with the latest android version.

I have indeed installed the latest Lineage 17.1 Rom and it works great. I , too , have the latest TWRP and found it very straight forward to install the zip file for Lineage , with ARM GAPPS for Android 10 and the latest Magisk for rooting my device. I assume when flashing the Rom etc you did a clean install by doing an Advanced wipe of Davlik/ART Cache , System , Data and Cache before proceeding. Good luck and hope you are able to get it going.

Thank you very much. You are an genius.
@jeferson1979 Your roms are what a rom should be! I have never thought that android 10 can run this smooth in this tiny device. All Thanks to you. Rom is very stable and is best rom available right now after AEX pie which is again your offering.
Unlike past developers your focus is more towards usage and fixing things rather than pure compiling/half baked pieces and that's what old time developing was...
Thanks to keeping this device alive. I use it because of it's light and small and easy to carry.
Now the only thing remaining is- I guess SELinux.
Thanks for all the work, I will flash this later today and post my feelings. Would it be possible to make this an official build? I loved the automatic updates via OTA from the official builds.
The ROM works great, however SELinux is not enabled, would it be possible to enable it?

you can manually set SELinux to enforcing by enabling the terminal shell in the Developer options and using the command, "setenforce enforcing"
this enables enforcing but i have no idea if the SELinux policy is written or doing what it needs to be doing, and this manual enforcing only lasts until reboot. does anyone know more on this subject?

That's great, I'll be waiting for the next update. After a day using it, I have to say that it is indeed a wonderful ROM, very fluid and responsive.
Flashed this ROM, till now everything works great. Thank you!

Can you please also release Android GO variant of Lineage. Recently I have seen one Go device, and it was so smooth even with 1GB RAM. We have 2GB so I guess Android GO will improve responsiveness and battery life slightly? Please correct me if I'm wrong.

You will see some minor improvement at memory management, but we will loose in other side. Maybe we can do some tests
I agree with newinnov. In fact i think it should be nice for the LineageOS team to keep supporting older devices (like ours) officially but in Android GO form. It would keep millions of phones out of landfills.
In our case I think the benefits overcome the loses. At this point i'm sure all of us are using our g4p for bare minimun tasks like whatsapp, email, browsing, social networking, and such. Mostly no functionality-intensive apps. Given that all of that can be done with Android GO i don't think we would lose that much

The only thing I can tell you from bricking Xiaomi devices in the past downgrading android is research an be very careful an for God's sake do not be on any kernel or rom that is China based. Xiaomi a few years back warned customers on China roms that if they try an downgrade they will get a hard brick instantly. Its happened to me twice man
Formatting SD cards is broken as hell, as only internal storage works. When using the portable option, format cancelles and it keep telling me that there's a problem that needs to be fixed. Coming from Xiaomi.EU
Would be nice if you have a look into this for the next build.+
When
I wonder if the correct steps for upgrading to Android 11 are: making a TWRP fully supporting it and making a custom ROM based on it after. I gave this ROM a try yesterday and it went not so good. Slow and messy OS start, unable to set WiFi under setup and after skipping it, unable to make Play Store to connect with mobile data (I guess mobile data wasn't really worked even OS showed it did) to update the needed google services for WiFi setup and google account . I tried to reflash my xiaomi.eu ROM using TWRP by mahajant99, but I couldn't put it in internal storage (there all was messed up, all kind of numbers and signs instead of folders or files names). I had to use MiFlash to revert to stock ROM. So, it was a very "painful" experience to me lol

I had the same experience as you and I couldn't even go past the setup screen because WiFi and data was not connecting , mi flash tool didn't work either so I eventually had to go out and buy a SD so I could make my phone to work again by flashing Xiaomi Global MIUI Rom.
I installed the A11 rom today. Using Orangefox and external SD card to carry the rom and other installation material.
Seems to work quite well.
Would be nice to use Pixel Launcher though!
Thanks Dev!
How come all android 11 Roms have high CPU usage . I noticed the silver core maxed out on
