fingerprint gestures, where is it? - OnePlus Nord N10 5G Questions & Answers

Im coming from oneplus 5t to Nord n10 5g. There was a gesture you could use in the 5t where you slide your finger and the menu will drop down. but i couldnt find it in the nord 10.
Is it disable? o do i need 3rd party software?

Could you be more specific?
What kind of slide? Which menu?
Do you mean Navigation gestures? If so, you can find it on Settings > Buttons & Gestures > Navigation bar & gestures > Navigation gestures.

I'm sorry but your post is a bit confusing to me and I just read the title again.
There's no such thing as fingerprint gestures, you can try asking on the Pixel Experience thread if that ROM supports fingerprint gestures, and if so, you can always flash it.

in the 5T there was. It was the last oneplus that had that gesture, i guess it was because the sensor was located in the back. the 6, 6t and newer devices had the sensor underneath the screen, thats why it was not in use. but since the nord 100 and nord 10 have the sensor on the back, i am a little surprise the it didnt come with it.

Scroll with Fingerprint

Hi,
I have seen that Android 7 supports to scroll with the fingerprint sensor. Is it possible, that to do on our Kenzo? With an App, a Custom Rom or something?
best regards Soulreaver1993

Yes you can ...
Download fingerprint gestures app...
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.superthomaslab.fingerprintgestures
And select option scroll with fast swipe.
Or you can download...
Root essentials and there go to fingerprint gestures and do the same...

:good::good::good:
Custom ROMs : CM13 official or CM14.1 unofficial may do..
Rooting can also enable
There should be an app called Fingerprint Gesture that does this on the Play Store.
tap functions working.
scroll function not working with fingerprint gesture app
Yeah, I'm looking for scroll functionality too. None of the fingerprint gesture apps seem to do this. Would be nice to use my phone with one hand.

Pocophone F1's Breathing light & fingerprint scrolling function

Is it possible to
1. make notification light to turn into phone's breathing light? which will blink always. (notification blinking will be 2x or 3x faster than breathing blinking)
2. turn fingerprint sensor into scrolling function? like internet browsing scrolling, facebook scrolling and in homepage bringing down notification panel?
I don't understand what you mean by "breathing light", but there are a few apps that do useful things with the fingerprint sensor, in reply to your second query, though this unfortunately isn't baked into the firmware (my previous phone was a Moto, so had pretty handy Moto gestures natively - v cool).
I've been experimenting with an app called Fingerprint Gestures, which I quite like. I only use it to pull up the home screen, which is tricky sometimes, eg when you're using Google Maps.
Fingerprint Gestures lets you select any of a number of commands, by single, long or double tapping. Unfortunately to get it to scroll you'd need root.
Miui (being a royal pain in the hole) seems to mess with the permissions a bit such that you tend to get pestered about the same permissions repeatedly.
There are a few other similar apps I'm gonna try also.
Edit
I just tried 4 other apps, Fingerprint Action Pro, Fingerprint Gesture, Fingerprint Swipes & Hometouch. Couldn't get any of them to work as well as Fingerprint Gestures

I'm using 'finger scanner gestures', tried a lot of apps but unfortunately none of them seem to be able to handle swiping over scanner... Maybe hardware limitation?
Also, i can confirm, permissions that are already given seem to disappear after a while (happens for other apps too)

M-Pen battery life and guestures

The battery in the M-pen doesn't seem to last that long for me - maybe a week with light use. How are others finding it?
Also the home and recent apps gestures from the bottom of the screen work fine with the M-pen, but the back gesture only seems to work maybe 1 time out of 10. Is this typical?
I'll be in a project next week with fairly heavy note-taking. I'll report in through the week.
Yes about a week sounds right. I don't use it daily bit every once in a while cos it's not as smooth as the note 8 stylus I have . (Feels weird using the pen on mate 2px screen , the contact feels unnatural to me )
So has anyone got the Back gesture to work reliably with the M-pen?
M Pen not working
My Pen Just arrived but doest seem to work, do i need to download an app o make adjustsments in my 20 x. Thanks for info
Have you charged it?
Yes fully charged, tried everyting, i guess Just dont work, thanks for the tip
Is it the m-pen specifically for the Mate 20 X? Does it say "For Huawei Mate 20 X" on the box?
20X M-Pen Battery Life
Used the pen extensively for note-taking for three days last week. I did not test the longevity, charging the pen each night. did not run out of power during the day. Since I have a spare M-Pen, I'll use one to fully drained status on my next project.
Yes, the box says specificly for mate 20 x, ill try to get a refound OR something
No-one has mentioned whether or not they can get the Back gesture to work with the M-pen?
I don't even know what these gestures are. Can anyone explain?

I'm not sure your exact problem, but I was trying mine just to see if I can replicate the issue. Mine works fine. Is there a particular app or something you do that it doesn't work?
edit *My mistake, I was thinking the back button. I don't use the back gesture. Sorry.

The gestures are when you go into System / System Navigation and choose Gestures instead of 3-key Navigation.
The navigation buttons disappear and you swipe up from the bottom for Home, or swipe from the left or right edge for Back.
The Home gesture works fine with the M-pen, but I have to use my finger for the Back guesture.

Ok. Thanks.
I just tested mine. I face the same situation. But the swipe left and right gestures are kinda hit and miss with my fingers as well.
I just stick with the navigation buttons.
My M-pen works fine with Back gesture
I got mine today and it wasn't working either. Called Huawei support. Simple, "did you activate handwriting in settings?" "Handwriting? No..."
Well... Do it... Search the option in settings... It started working immediately
Been trying to find Handwriting in settings but cant find it, I have the same problem with my m Pen, i guess i dont have it (handwriting) and this is why my Pen doesnt work

It's under Smart Assistance. Or just use the search function.
Does anyone know how to turn the pen off while not in use to save battery life?

Turn off Landscape Navigation Gestures?

Is there any way to just flat out disable the rotation of the navigation gestures of Android 10?
I'd really like them to not rotate with rest of my content, I would like to keep my recents and navigation gestures on static portrait mode. It feels really unconventional and disgusting and annoying to have it like this.
Android 9 on Oneplus 6 had it static but also started rotating when i updated it to A10. So it's definitely a new OOS/A10 thing which I don't like one bit.
Oh and my Oneplus 7T Pro is rooted with Magisk if that information helps. Can't install twrp tho, so zip patches may be a nono unless I can flash it through adb.

OnePlus bottom navigation gestures possible?

On my OnePlus 7 Pro, I strongly preferred using the OnePlus bottom gestures (Android 10 gesture bar hidden, swipe up from bottom right corner to go back which leaves the side bar pull out functionality unaffected by the new stupid Android 10 gestures). Anyone know if there's a way to bring that style back?

Plenty of apps on the play store for that matter ?
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ivianuu.oneplusgestures
Works great for me.
Not a fan of the app solution unfortunately. It wouldn't be as good as the system implemented gestures IMO.
