Why I need to “Press” finger print sensor instead of “Touch”?
Answer:
In the latest version default finger print setting is changed to “Press” from “Touch”
User can again set it to touch only
1) Open Settings -> Password & Security option.
2) Open Fingerprint unlock -> Select Recognition method.
3) Select “Touch” option to use it.
Solution:
So it is recommended to select this option to use touch fingerprint by changing settings manually after update V12.5.2.0.RKKINXM.
Note: Default Finger print option will be press after update of V12.5.2.0.RKKINXM.
What?
Press and touch are the same freakin’ thing lol. Otherwise touch maybe leas pressure :/

I am about to buy a new LG V10 H960a in Germany.
Currently I am using a Galaxy Note 3 which is still a great machine, but I think it is time to switch to a new phone with more speed, better camera and better sound.
I do not game, but listen to a lot of music and take a lot of photos and videos.
At the moment, my phone running stock Android 4.4.4 is rooted, has Xposed and is encrypted.
My question:
After officially unlocking the bootloader on the V10, will I be able to:
Root + install Xposed (Xprivacy, Greenify) + ENCRYPT the device on Stock Marshmallow? (I am not going to install custom roms). Does the method [adb -> pkill -KILL daemonsu] still work? If not, which way do I have to choose?
Also, if I ENCRYPT my device, could you tell me more about the unlocking mechanism?
1. After booting, what is the maximum of letters and numbers possible in the password field [16?]?
2. Is it possible to unlock with the fingerprint sensor after entering a password once after booting?
3. I did not find much info or looked in the wrong place: Generally unlocking with fingerprint, do you have to press once to both wake and unlock or do I have to press twice for wake and once again for unlock?

Yes, root and installing xposed is possible. I don't know about encryption. The Option is still there but as I don't use it I cannot confirm it is still working after bootloader unlock.
Unlocking with fingerprint:
Genarally you have to enter the alternative code (PIN, Pattern, Password) after reboot once before you can unlock you phone with your fingerprint. There is a module for Xposed called "FingerprintEnabler". If you have installed it you can unlock your phone with your fingerprint directly after reboot. You don't have to enter your PIN/Pattern/Password first.
To unlock your phone with the fingerprint you place your finger on the sensor (which is the power button) and press the button once to activate the screen. Just leave your finger on the sensor and the phone will unlock. If you have a flip case which activates the screen when you open it, you just need to place your finger on the sensor.
I hope this clarifies things a bit.

How can I disable the Redmi Note 3 Pro fingerprint scanner in the firmware or in the OS kernel?
P.S. The problem is that I want to use ported Redmi Note 3 Special Edition (kate) MIUI 7 Global 7.3.9 for kenzo, but it has a big problem with FP scanner, so I need to disable it somehow. How can I do it?

Go to settings--> lockscreen & fingerprint -->screen lock and fingerprint --> click on fingerprint and click delete. Hit thanks if helped
I have another problem. I have disabled fingerprint sensor, no fingerprint is registered but...when the phone screen is off, if i touch the figerprint scanner it wakes up the screen (in screen lock). It is very disturbing becouse every time i pick up the phone it lights up...
Any fix for this pls??

Me too, I have the same problem, the screen wakes up when I touch the fp sensor. How can I disable this?
i'm also have problem, using CM13-fk Optimized.. not registering FP, but still when screen OFF then touch FP making screen become ON..

Had the same issue on Redmi note 4x (Snapdragon). I was very annoyed with the phone waking up all the time I touch accidently the fingerprint sensor.
Recently I finally found a working sollution (credits go to user cherva70 from Russian 4pda forum!):
You'll need a rooted device
Go to system/usr/keylayout folder and open the file Generic.kl with text editor
change the line
key 353 DPAD_CENTER
to
key 353 MENU
save
reboot (no need to wipe cache)
by this you bind 'menu' button to your fingerprint sensor, they will now work exactly the same way. And as the 'menu' button normally doesn't wake-up the phone, so won't the sensor
Best part - fingerprint sensor will still have its main functionality and you'll be able to unlock the phone or any other app when you're prompted so.

As in the title.
I tested it and the sensor on android 7 still wakes up my device.
Is it known how to deactivate the finger sensor completely? The part constantly wakes up my device when I'm against it.

Confirmed working on Redmi Note 4.

After updating the mate 10 C185 to 133 firmware (full package, stood the stock recovery and root), the rute accordingly flown, configured the unlock on the face and installed the root (which is ROOT without mashing the Userdata section), the phone rebooted and the unlock on the face stopped working, the registered person and when registering a new one the message: Your face can not be identified, it is clear that the camera is not connected at the moment, if you repeatedly press "repeat" a black circle without a camera turns on.

Stock Firmware Only
1 bond paper (clear or no writings)
Unlocked bootloader
100000 patience
Steps:
1. Downgrade to Android 9 as lowest version as possible2. Unlock your bootloader if it isn't unlocked (not required if already unlocked)3. Go to Service Menu and turn on Faceprint and Handprint4. Then go to Device test --> SAAT --> Manual test --> Optical finger test5. Remember the 1 bond paper? For the First test, cover your phone with the bond paper and press start. After pressing start, immediately press the green circle with force till the 2nd test comes.6. For the Second test, remove the white bond paper. Press start and only press the fingerprint with force for only 5 seconds7. For the Third test, bring back the bond paper and immediately press the fingerprint with force until it ends the test8. If you're lucky, you should be able to pass the test. When that happens, you can now register your faceprint in the settings.9. If atheist one of the tests failed, you have to try again steps number 5 to 7
Note: If you successfully fixed your fingerprint, you can now upgrade to whatever android version you want using LGUP. Use the refurbished option.
Note: To go into Service Menu, open dialer and type *#546368#*850# for the G8x and *#546368#*510# for v50s
Note: You must pass all the test to regain fingerprint.
