New Way to Fix the Fingerprint of an Unlocked Device (LG G8X and V50s) - LG G8X ThinQ Guides, News, & Discussion

Preparations:
Stock Firmware Only
1 bond paper (clear or no writings)
Unlocked bootloader
100000 patience
Steps:
1. Downgrade to Android 9 as lowest version as possible2. Unlock your bootloader if it isn't unlocked (not required if already unlocked)3. Go to Service Menu and turn on Faceprint and Handprint4. Then go to Device test --> SAAT --> Manual test --> Optical finger test5. Remember the 1 bond paper? For the First test, cover your phone with the bond paper and press start. After pressing start, immediately press the green circle with force till the 2nd test comes.6. For the Second test, remove the white bond paper. Press start and only press the fingerprint with force for only 5 seconds7. For the Third test, bring back the bond paper and immediately press the fingerprint with force until it ends the test8. If you're lucky, you should be able to pass the test. When that happens, you can now register your faceprint in the settings.9. If atheist one of the tests failed, you have to try again steps number 5 to 7
Note: If you successfully fixed your fingerprint, you can now upgrade to whatever android version you want using LGUP. Use the refurbished option.
Note: To go into Service Menu, open dialer and type *#546368#*850# for the G8x and *#546368#*510# for v50s
Note: You must pass all the test to regain fingerprint.
Below is the proof that I unlocked my bootloader with a custom kernel installed and a working fingerprint.
You can contact me in telegram if you have some questions: https://t.me/shoreleavvve

I don't have a bond, what should I do?

How to get bootloader unlock code instantly

I was very sad that even waiting 2 weeks i couldn't get the unlock code from huawai website.
Thanks to @inside!out for helping me with the following way to get the bootloader fast unlocked:
There is a small software called dc-unlock: https://www.dc-unlocker.com/
With dc-unlock there is no need to wait two weeks (or more?!)
Just download dc-unlock software and purchase 4 points for unlocking bootloader instantly on the website. ( There are a lot ways to purchase - don't worry)
Install HiSuite on PC and connect phone with pc.
In phone software you need to enable debugging and then in dialer
- dial *#*#2846579#*#*
- background settings
- usb port settings
- choose manufacture mode
Then in dc-unlock software choose huawei phones and auto detect.
Now search device, if found enter on right side under server settings the username and password you get per email when purchasing 4 points from dc-unlock website.
Then in unlocking on right side DON'T choose unlock phone! Choose "read bootloader"!
That's the code you need for Multi-Tool to unlock successful.
Good luck!
OHH NOOOO... NO NEW TREAD ABOUT "DC-UNLOCKER"!
There are enough treads about "dc-unlocker" here in the forum!
please use the search engine!

MM + Root + Xposed + Fingerprint + ENCRYPTION?

Hello Guys and Girls!
I am about to buy a new LG V10 H960a in Germany.
Currently I am using a Galaxy Note 3 which is still a great machine, but I think it is time to switch to a new phone with more speed, better camera and better sound.
I do not game, but listen to a lot of music and take a lot of photos and videos.
At the moment, my phone running stock Android 4.4.4 is rooted, has Xposed and is encrypted.
My question:
After officially unlocking the bootloader on the V10, will I be able to:
Root + install Xposed (Xprivacy, Greenify) + ENCRYPT the device on Stock Marshmallow? (I am not going to install custom roms). Does the method [adb -> pkill -KILL daemonsu] still work? If not, which way do I have to choose?
Also, if I ENCRYPT my device, could you tell me more about the unlocking mechanism?
1. After booting, what is the maximum of letters and numbers possible in the password field [16?]?
2. Is it possible to unlock with the fingerprint sensor after entering a password once after booting?
3. I did not find much info or looked in the wrong place: Generally unlocking with fingerprint, do you have to press once to both wake and unlock or do I have to press twice for wake and once again for unlock?
Thank you very much!

Hi ndroiduzer,
I'm not able to answer your questions regarding encryption as I currently don't use ist but I will try for the rest.

Yes, root and installing xposed is possible. I don't know about encryption. The Option is still there but as I don't use it I cannot confirm it is still working after bootloader unlock.
Unlocking with fingerprint:
Genarally you have to enter the alternative code (PIN, Pattern, Password) after reboot once before you can unlock you phone with your fingerprint. There is a module for Xposed called "FingerprintEnabler". If you have installed it you can unlock your phone with your fingerprint directly after reboot. You don't have to enter your PIN/Pattern/Password first.
To unlock your phone with the fingerprint you place your finger on the sensor (which is the power button) and press the button once to activate the screen. Just leave your finger on the sensor and the phone will unlock. If you have a flip case which activates the screen when you open it, you just need to place your finger on the sensor.
I hope this clarifies things a bit.
Thank you a lot for your thorough explanations!
Nice to hear, one does not have to press twice to unlock.

Carrier Unlock LG Phoenix 2 K731

Hi so I just bought the LG Phoenix 2 Go phone just as a backup device and wanted to know if there was any way to unlock the device. I know I can go and buy an unlock code from one of the retailers online but I wanted to know if there was a way to do it myself.
Unlock instructions
How to unlock this phone:
1. Do not turn the phone on, don't even open the box.
2. Go to this web site: Google for "att device unlock" and go to the official AT&T unlock site.
3. Check I have read and agree to the eligibility requirements to unlock my device.
4. This is super important, check Non-AT&T Mobility Customer. Do this by selecting "No" where it asks "Are you an AT&T wireless customer?"
5. Fill out the form, including the IMEI number which is located on the Box
6. Submit
7. You will be sent an email with a link to confirm
8. Open your email and confirm
9. Anywhere from 1 hour to 48 hours you will be given an unlock code. It took a day for me to receive mine.
10. Open up the box, put in your SIM from your Carrier and turn it on.
11. You will be prompted for the unlock code
12. Put it in and continue.

Unlock Instructions for this phone - Use this second option of it didn't ask you for the unlock code :
Using a Non-AT&T SIM Card
1. Insert a non-AT&T SIM card.
2. Power on the device.
3. The device displays Phone locked. Please insert a valid SIM card.
4. Select Unlock (left soft key).
5. The device displays Please enter network unlock code (16 digits). Remaining: X.
6. Enter the 16-digit unlock code.
7. Select OK (left soft key).
8. Select OK to reset the device.
Using an AT&T SIM Card
1. Insert an AT&T SIM card.
2. Power on the device.
3. Enter *983*865625# in idle mode.
4. Select Unlock (left soft key).
5. The device displays Please enter network unlock code (16 digits). Remaining: X.
6. Enter the 16-digit unlock code.
7. Select OK (left soft key).
8. Select OK to reset the device.

I inadvertently turned on the device before I began this unlocking process on the AT&T website. I did not, however, finish the phone setup. Do you believe the unlocking process has been messed up because the phone was turned on?
I don't know. Just give it a try and report back letting us know if it worked or not. It won't hurt anything to try.

Just curious, do you believe users on ebay are using the free AT&T unlock service and charging for it? Such as this user: http://www.ebay.com/itm/AT-T-Fast-U...371-B470-4G-G-series-ALL-Models-/152090787792

Yes, there is a good chance they are just using the free service and charging for it. They justify their fee by saying that they do the "paperwork" for you with no hassle. Truth is, it is very simple to do on your own. I've only done it one time with a K371 (Phoenix 2) and AT&T but have seen that others have successfully done this as well.
Interesting. Thanks for the help by the way. I'll reply back once AT&T replies. Unfortunately, since I submitted the request on Thursday, I'll need to wait until tomorrow because of their two business day turnaround.

I'm going to be using this phone with T-Mobile but I don't yet have the T-Mobile nanoSIM. Can I use the above method to do the unlock with the AT&T SIM that came with the phone and then just switch to the T-Mobile SIM when I get it? (I got the unlock code from AT&T already)
Seems that AT & T has a 6 month policy now, before they can unlock the go phone device for non-customers.
I am using non-att SIM but not able to usb/wifi tethering. Stuck at authenticating... Can you help me.

Cant access device after Android 9

Hi ! Today i bought my Pocophone F1 and updated it to MIUI 10. Created MI account, entered my google account and downloaded Android 9 update. After the installation of the update i no longer can pass the first settings screen. There is a Confirm your password section where the keyboard is only numerical and cant enter any of my passwords cause they all contain letters. I cannot install another ROM because my bootloader is locked and cannot unlock it from this state. I can access all of my accounts from computer, just dont know what is this only numerical password ... Would be glad if anyone can help !
Hi, I have exactly the same problem and conditions. Today I got the smartphone, registered on the page, updated with:
miui_POCOF1Global_8.11.29_14c6931f61_9.0.zip.
(MIUI10/choose lang/chose your region/connect to network/terms and c./checking for updates/copy apps&data(skiped)/checking info/confirm your passsword)
Wipe data did not help.
I've been desperate for hours. Please help

Its seems is somehow google account related. Managed to flash the same ROM (cause its the only one i can flash with locked bootloader) with XiaomiADB and MI account dissapeared, but only Google one left. It let you go without wifi connection to the end but just when you press the last button to go to the homepage it says you cannot because there is a google profile here and Couldnt been able to bypass it cause all the techniques dont work here, like for example the talkback gesture and SSID copy stuff. Tried even to remove my device from my google profile, but with no luck for the moment ...

I suspect more likely a numeric password, which would have to be connected to Xiaomi-account.(it's google)
When I turn off the wi-fi I get a message that the phone is assigned to a Xiaomi-account with the number xyz (account number is not this asked password) which can not be checked.
Ive send the device back to the seller. Actualy i contacted Xiaomi global support, but the bad news is they cannot understand the problem i have with the device, despite the description i gave them. I wrote them if the seller cannot fix it and decline to send a new device to give them IMEI and Mi account to unlock the bootloader since i cannot access the device. I doubt instaling official rom void warranty. We will see tomorrow.
Have someone any idea?
To try to remedy to this you might want to follow these steps. Do it in quick succession.
1. Press Power Button and Vol Down simultaneously to force shut down the device.
2. When the screen switches off quickly press Power Button and Vol Up, this will give you access to Recovery Mode
3. From there, you need to wipe your data (factory reset)
Here you use volume buttons to navigate and power button to select.
I don't know of any other way for your situation.
Hi I've the same solution there is the solution
Download on your pc the fastboot rom
http://en.miui.com/thread-3943816-1-1.html
Based on oreo
Start your phone in fastboot mod (pow + vol down)
Launch mi flash
Extract the zip and the zip inside
Flash it
Bootloader locked? Not a problem launch mi flash and click on unlock
Enjoy you're phone is now alive
(I've found this myself and it working)
Hf
my phone is back

i had a similar problem after unlocking the bootloader, i had to log in to my mi account which gave me a normal keyboard but to then go online i had to enter my wifi password which gave me no keyboard at all.
i used a usb keyboard with an otg adapter to circumvent the issue, worked fine but shame on xiaomi for such a bad software...

soft bootloop after setting screenlock ( after dirty flash to Android 10 MIUI 11)

hi people, looking to your advice and suggestions.
I was on Android 9 Miui 10. Last night I did a dirty flash to Android 10 Miui 11. There was no issues during this process and the phone booted up fine with no loss of data.
Steps I took -
1) Disabled Magisk modules
2) Removed all screenlock and Google and MIUI accounts
3) Made a Nandroid backup before flashing
Today morning, I tried to set up screenlock on Android 10 MIUI 11. Added the pattern lock, and added a fingerprint. Strangely when I tried to add one more fingerprint (for my left index finger), it asked me to set pattern lock again. Well I set it again, and added the new fingerprint. Same thing happened when I set the face unlock. I added the pattern lock again. But, the patternlock never turned to ON status, even though fingerprint and facelock was showing ON.
When I tried to lock the screen and to test it out, I was able to unlock with swipe (with no pattern, fingerprint or face unlock required). I haven't set any smart unlock as well.. I thought perhaps a reboot will help, but now I'm stuck on a soft bootloop ( the phone boots upto to the lockscreen and reboots before I can do anything )
Is there any suggestions on what I can do ? Please advise. Thanks in advance

Fix
Managed to fix it my myself. FYI
1) Boot TWRP Recovery click Advanced> File Manager> data> system and delete 6 files (ref : https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software-hacking/remove-lockscreen-recovery-t3530008)
1.access_control.key
2.access_control_password_type.key
3.locksettings.db
4.locksettings.db-shm
5.locksettings.db-wal
6./data/system/users/0/settings_fingerprint.xml
Bootup was successful
2) After bootup, you might find it difficult to set the screenlock password (won't take affect). Follow this -
In a web browser (on any device), log into Gmail with the account you used when setting up your phone.
Go to https://myaccount.google.com/intro/find-your-phone
Press "Lock your phone"
Enter "abcd"
Your phone's screen is now locked. Unlock it with "abcd"
You can now change your screen lock.

Hi there,
Good that you resolved on your own.
Also, this bug can be resolved this way. Try to setup second space. If you are already setup earlier with a password then follow the other member guide until the removal of locksettings db files. Then reboot and try setup the second space.. while setting up it will request to setup the password or pattern for first space and finger prints for second space. Once done move to first space and setup the fingerprints there for first space.
Just making a note here.. so somebody can make use of it in need at desperate hours...
I have spent sometime to figure this bug in the first space but setting up second space solved the bug.
Hope this helps.
Thanks.
