LG Tmobile V60 update to A11 no access System files they're hidden (data and obb) do I need to root or -R-A-S-H folder? - LG V60 ThinQ Questions & Answers

My phone updated from A10 to A11. There are no PS utility tools to reverse the hidden files attribute inside the directory folders. Does this mean my T-mobile phone has to be rooted also I'm not with T-mobile anymore (I'm with their sister branch) so how do I attain the T-mobile root app? Are there any other alternatives?

Hidden files need to be rooted to see the files, right?
隐藏的文件都是需要root手机才能看得到吧

The Google translator isn't working correctly one last thing how can I roll back to a stable (older) YouTube app?
Also is this site dead?

Yes I recently had full access with A10 not with A11 OS and my USB is refusing my flash drive access. My phone is OTG but the A11 option switch is now gone bye-bye. If I wanted less accessibility to my phone I would have brought a damn iPhone.

If you don't mind telling me, what process is the one required so that the phone recognizes SIMS from other companies? Flashing? Sorry for the amateur question.
I have no idea. There isn't anything to flash. No roms, no kernels, no recoveries no nothing. There appears to be zero interest in this variant by the dev community.

I guess i will wait a bit for those tools before i give up and try to sell this device since its no use to me, being unable to use SIMS for other companies.

Thanks for the information fellas. So basically we have to wait until someone with the knowledge can extract those files (Roms, kernels, recoveries).
By some of the comments i've seen here, i get the impression that only the high-end phones are the ones that the community gets behind? How unfortunate if true.
By the way i saw in a different post someone uploaded a Rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/grand-prime/development/rom-download-sm-s920l-straight-talk-usa-t3265004/page2
Yes, and that ROM will turn your Grand Prime into a Core Prime (Franken Prime) with lots of things not working. There are no stock roms available for this variant.

PPPPStrand_xxx_Ricky file in my Internal Storage

I found a file called "PPPPStrand_xxx_Ricky" in my Internal Storage, anyone know what this is? It almost seems like a virus. I opened it as a text file and it seemed like a random string of alpha characters, there's a "VSTA" and "VSTB" in the string.
I tried Googling this but came up with nothing, thought maybe one of you devs would know what this is.
There is some consistency with this file however, it exists on my two Android devices:
1) Nvidia Shield K1 running LineageOS 14.1, Magisk, Adaway
2) Samsung Galaxy Note 4 - Verizon running MODest ROM, Magisk, Adaway
I found this file on both platforms, I thought maybe there's something common between the two?
Can anyone help me with this please...
For me , galaxy s5 the same. an my parner also the same file in root dir. Original rom. What is it?
Curious, do you use any IP cameras from Vstarcam? I use Vstarcam with their Eye4 software on my Android devices and Windows machines, and both Android devices had this file, I deleted the Eye4 software from my Android device, and the file still remained, I deleted the file, and the file never came back.
I installed the Eye4 software, no file, but after logging into my Eye4 profile to access my cams, the file came back. So the conclusion is that it's tied to the Vstarcam/Eye4 in some way...
Just to chime in, I also found that file on my phone and I also use Eye4. Has anyone tested it using Suneyes TS instead to see if this file also comes up? If not, I might switch back as they both are very compatible with each others cameras.

Recover deleted data in Samsung S9+ Secure Folder

Hi Experts,
I have accidentally deleted some important files in my Samsung S9+ Secure Folder, and trying to find the best way to recover them. Looking for the Experts advice!
I read through the forums but it seems rooting and wiping the device is a must, and looks like rooting the device will kill my Secure Folder and Samsugn Pay forever. Despite this, I think it still needs to be done. Please if anyone could offer me some advice, it is greatly appreciated. I am also fairly new to Android, so please bear with me on the very technical side of things.
What I have tried:
1. Download file recovery apps in secure folder but it only restores files from the downloads/pictures/videos folders but my files did not sit there...
2. Tried multiple windows software and play store apps, all asking the device to be rooted first
2. Tried to root my device with Kingo Root, King Root, One Click Root and Towelroot, all failed to root....
Thanks in advance for any advice on this.
Jeffrey
Umm..... The whole point of the secure folder is to house content that you don't want people to be able to access!
So no, there's absolutely no way to do it.

Thanks Devhux. But if I root the device and do a disk recovery treating it like a normal hard drive, applications should still be able to run a thorough scan on everything deleted on it?
Unfortunately, no. The secure folder is heavily encrypted. Considering that Knox is certified by the US Department of Defense and NSA, you're not going to get at the data that was in Secure Folder.
Also note that Android works differently due to using Media Transfer Protocol (MTP) when connecting to a Windows computer. That in itself won't let you create a disk "image" like you can on a regular computer.
There's also the issue that if you're running a Snapdragon 845 model of the S9+ you won't be able to root anyways.
Sent from my SM-G965W using Tapatalk
Got it, thanks for the details. I guess there is nothing I can do about this then.
I think you should root your Samsung S9+ first. Then try with an Android recovery software or app. Also, this Android data recovery must be helpful with you.
www.android-data-recovery.com
If he root the phone, Knox will be tripped and a secured folder won't work anymore. Why you didn't log in your account in the first place? So Samsung Cloud will do a backup and when you reinstall the phone, everything will be downloaded again.

How to get or copy files from an app / my own Android Device?

Just want to start out by saying, I HATE HATE HATE how Android has to keep everything so secretive and hard to access. Android works great, but when you want to do something as simple as grabbing files from an app, everything tries its hardest to stand in your way from root access bs to apps detecting if Magisks non functional anti hide is on the system. Enabling root and using root file access apps are so damn useless and crash all the time. Worst part is, they don't even show the files you are looking for when you find the right directories so wtf, what's even the point. /rant
I have a game/app that stores files on my expanded SD card storage. The files get downloaded *somewhere* and my phone detects the 5 GB of storage its using. How can I find the exact directory my phone is using that calculates the size of the files, and how can I gain access to these files to copy over FTP / USB / ADB etc to my computer.
I've spent so many hours trying to figure this out. Closest I got was making ADB backup pulls for the app but the archive is corrupt / incomplete every time so nothing will extract in full.
My device is a Samsung Note 3 running Android 7.1 Lineage.
Figured I would come here for help since I bet there's some Android developers that know a simple trick or two to just extract some simple unencrypted files. Very very much appreciated for any tips or guidance!

[Kali NetHunter] WIFI doesn't work after flashing with TWRP

(I posted this on the Android Mods Thread on accedent)I have a LG Nexus 5 HammerHead and tried to flash the newest Kali NetHunter using TWRP 3.5.2. After I flashed the ROM successfully, I have notice that the phone itself says no wifi networks found when swipe down to look at the wifi connections. I go to the wifi settings it says "Searching for wifi networks" with a spinning wheel of death(the loading icon). I've tried configuring it to use 2.4 Mhrz and didn't work, set it up to where it would only find good connections and still didn't work, I even did a factory reset and actually made it worse. I even reflashed it and see if that fixed it, nope. I connected it to the internet using a Ethernet adapter that is made for phones using a micro USB connection, updated the apps, updated and upgraded Kali NetHunter itself in the terminal and wifi connections is still not finding any connections at all. Could It be that Kali NetHunter doesn't support the internal wifi card that is built into my phone, could it be that twrp is having some errors on their end, or is it a bug that Offensive Security is not aware about? Please Help?
This may happen cos of wi-fi firmware. These files are called fw_bcmdhd.bin and fw_bcmdhd_apsta.bin. There are two versions of firmware:
1. https://github.com/LineageOS/androi...c531cd30abd21d93c5a04/bcmdhd/firmware/bcm4339
2. https://github.com/LineageOS/androi...5f8949fe77780d922c973/bcmdhd/firmware/bcm4339
You need to find where these files are stored in your rom, replace them with files from version 1 or version 2, restore permissions for these files if necessary and reboot your phone.

Honestly, I have been trying to find these files and can't seem to find them. I even put the file name on the search bar of my windows 10 and it can't find them either. I think its just missing firmware on Offensive Security's end in this situation. I've had a troublesome experience with their kali linux products such as kali linux itself on having missing firmware after installation. Thank you for helping me out and hopefully these files should do the trick after I re-flash NetHunter with the firmware you have provided. As a matter of fact would the files belong in the firmware folder?

You will not find them in the search bar of your windows)
And no, firmware is not missed. Without wi-fi firmware you will be unable to enable Wi-Fi at all. In your case Wi-Fi can be enabled but you didn't see any networks.
Also /firmware - is incorrect place. It is a mount point of the /modem partition.
Wi-Fi firmware can be located at /system/firmware or /system/vendor/firmware/. Try to find them in TWRP. Boot into TWRP, mount System partition, open File Manager and review all the paths i've listed here. But i can't be sure cos i've never used Kali NetHunter.

Ok, I've been to those locations and in the system's folder, no firmware folder. However, in the sys folder, there is and does not show any firmware files in TWRP.
Give me the links to ROM files u flashed
This came directly from kali.org.
What was your base ROM before installing Kali? Stock Android 6.0.1?
yes
Well, Wi-Fi firmware in stock android 6.0.1 is located at /system/vendor/firmware/ folder. I've looked in the kali installer script and didn't find any scripts which can modify or delete this firmware. So we can try to install different firmwares into stock folders. I've attached 2 flashable zips for you. Try the -DHD version first. Flash it in TWRP and reboot your phone. If it doesn't help, then try -STOCK version.
It this will not help then i'm out of options

Ok, I have tried both. Sadly I guess I'm out of luck and this is now nothing but a bricked phone in my hand. None of these files worked and actually made my phone crash when I tried to load the first file. I tried the second file as well and now I can't turn wifi on. I might as well have to build my own rom or junk this phone

These are the complete Nexmon files seperately arranged.
Either you use a proper file manager with root permission, or just use the TWRP fiile manager and insert/copy them into the according sections.Maybe set the correct permission, while you're there and of course know your stuff. :>

Hi Mate, Sorry for the delayed reply. Now i can afford nexus 5. Faced same issue as you. Thanks @z3DD3r for the hint.
Follow below instruction If you want wifi.
*Boot to Twrp
*locate /advanced/filemanager/vendor/firmware
You are there
(Note: 100% you can't see the files as discussed in above thread. But those are hidden(while installing nexmon from nethunter store i have seen those already exists in same folder))
*At bottom you see permisson blue box
*Click the same-select chmod 755-swipe to confirm
Now reboot to system. Here you go.
