Question Few Bugs so far - Realme GT

Hi,
i've been using this phone for the past month (CN Version, Currently on 21) or so and so far I encountered the following problems:
1. Cannot Change the Default Messaging app.
2. Cannot set google as the default assistant
3. Cannot get VOLTE and Vowifi to work for me (Briefly had Xiaomi and used the code to force it to work).
4. Auto brightness keeps screwing up.
5. Cannot disable the market app
if anyone can help, that would be great.

And alot of missed things:
Missing "Choose date format" option. We are locked on american format, month/day/year.
Missing pocket mode.
Missing DeepTool for Android 11 to unlock bootloader. Speaking with support via mail, the answer is:
"Thank you for writing to us, we would like to inform you that
Bootloader unlock support is not yet available for Android 11, please stay tuned over official community."
Edge lighting is limited to 2 warnings. Need that option to be unlimited, until you see the notification. Like led notification before.
Missing "Vibration pattern" on calls.
Missing option to change sim in dialer if you choose a prefered sim. Prefered, not mandatory. If you want to call somebody with the second sim after you set prefered sim, you need to change that to the second sim to call. Too complicated.
Missing contacts manager option. So, you don't have posibility to import/export contacts, to hide contacts without number, to sort contacts in different ways, to merge contacts with same number, to choose what contacts to display(from phone, from witch google account, from sim, etc).
Missing navigation bar customization. To choose whats is happening if you press home twice, or if you press long on back button etc.
Missing option to return call and same sim you get the call.
For me it's not acceptable to launch a phone without posibility to unlock the phone(bootloader, recovery, root) for power users. Now, for me, realme GT it's a beast in a cage. And tied with chains by realme staff.

Seems far too many issues to be able to love this device.
I don't believe Realme software developers intend to tie anything, it's not logical to hinderi purchasers on purpose.
Realme deveopers are simply inadequate and require more time as many bugs were most probably unknown prior to roll out of the device.
....and by the time this Realme can function perfectly, it'll be time for upgrade due to end of the 3 years security support.

Hey. Bought my phone yesterday on Amazon sold/sent by Amazon (Poco F3 died in water).
I don't know why but my phone was already with developer options unlocked. Is it normal?
Besides that, the phone gives a pretty good feeling except a few bugs of ui here and there (full screen gesture often bring me back stock launcher for example.. Same was for the poco) and that I don't see any custom roms/twrp compared to poco F3.
Also noticed that I can't add French dictionary on top of English (set my phone in English) and on whatsapp I have words with underline when I write in French hum.
edit: returned my phone and sticking with my S10e.

Caller Announce

Is there any way to enable this option? I've updated to the latest 12070 and although I still can't see it in the ease of use menu
Can't believe something as simple as this is missing, my N97 had it.
I believe your lumia should have it but some carriers have decided to remove the feature:
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsphone/en-us/howto/wp7/basics/use-speech-on-my-phone.aspx
To turn on Speech for accessibility, tap SettingsSettings icon > Ease of access, and then turn on On iconSpeech for phone accessibility. This enables the following:
•
Talking caller ID for phone calls. When you get a call, your phone will announce the name or number of the caller.
To have your phone announce and read incoming text messages, tap Settings > Speech, and then turn on On icon Play audio confirmations. Tap Read aloud incoming text messages, and then choose when you want to hear the announcements—all the time, or only when using a Bluetooth and/or a wired headset.
3
When your phone announces an incoming text, you can say "Read it" or "Ignore." Then you can dictate and send a reply.
Notes:
Speech may not be available in your country or region.

That's from the MS Page.
So assuming that's the case, if I de-brand the phone the phone I should get the option back?
I was looking for a similar thing. My European 059J3G4 (RM-801 EU NDT EURO1) Lumia 800 doesn't have the option under settings either. And I'm pretty sure this is unbranded.
Speech options are only available in English... Put your phone in English and you should have the options.

It is in english, I've tried flashing to stock nokia firmware and now the menu option has completely dissappeared!
Is it possible to registry edit the phone to reveal the option?
I have discovered that this feature was removed in the European version of the firmware, would it be safe for me to flash a US region version to my European phone or is this risky due to hardware differences?
Does anyone have any further suggestions? Nokia are giving me the run around.

Popup on Dialer

Hi,
I have a ZTE N986 (Android 4.2.1) phone, it has dual SIM mode (CDMA & GSM) and I use them both.
Everytime I want to make a call using the GSM, there's this popup appears : http://tinypic.com/view.php?pic=o7sg93&s=5
With a little research, I find that it appears only if I use local number format in my country (Indonesia, which like "0211234567". Three first digits is Jakarta code by the way.) It doesn't show if I use international format (e.g. +62211234567).
Now it reads "China" in greyed box on top, I think it has to do with locale settings, so I change my language settings to Bahasa Indonesia but it doesn't work. I even done rooting in order to use MoreLocale app but it doesn't work either. And I can't find any settings or any app relating this popup.
Honestly it's not a big deal, I can still make a call by tapping "local call" on the popup, but you know, time I spend to solve this rather than, like change my contacts phone number format makes me even more curious.
Please help me, thanks in advance

[Q] Can't use alternate dialers anymore

I have a Samsung Galaxy S5 from Verizon (Lollipop). I was able to use alternate dialers up until recently, when I activated Verizon's new "Advanced Calling 1.0" feature.
Advanced Calling is Verizon's name for VoLTE (voice-over-LTE), which is supposed to provide clearer calls by using data for calls. They're rolling this out slowly and you have to opt-in, then reboot your phone. See some info here: verizonwireless.com/wcms/consumer/advanced-calling.html
Ever since I activated this, my phone seems to force me to use the original dialer. I think this is because the Advanced Calling feature won't work with other dialers.
Once I learned this, I deactivated Advanced Calling. It only works if both phones have it anyway, and since almost no one has this yet, and I would rather use my own dialer, it wasn't worth the trouble.
However, even after deactivating Advanced Calling, my phone still won't let me choose a different dialer. I've rebooted and cleared all defaults, but my phone still won't even pop up the default chooser screen for calls. I can start another dialer manually, but after dialing or touching a contact name, the original stock dialer then opens to complete the call.
Assuming you've actually read this far, any ideas on what I can do to fix this?

Dual-SIM waiting time before call

Using two SIMs and having assigned the contacts to them there is a 5sec waiting time before the dialing starts (so you could choose the other number). This drives me crazy. Any way to get rid of that waiting time?
Setting-dual sim..- scroll to bottom, default call set your simcard

If you want to set the default sim to dial, read the answer above.
And if you're interested in having both the sim options displayed and want to just get rid of 5s waiting time, You should get latest MIUI 10 Global BETA 8.9.20.
I had that annoying waiting time on all previous builds. But after updating to 8.9.20 it is no longer there.

It is there. I was dialling numbers from a week old call log that's why it didn't show up the first time.
A quick google search shows that apparently this auto dialling is inbuilt "feature" that you can't turn off in MIUI.
Well, I guess for me that will be the reason to go the unlock/root/custom rom way in the near future.
So stupid!
I meant you can't turn off it in MIUI dialer app. My bad.
You can always use third-party dialers to get rid of auto dialling.
LOL, that didn't come to my mind ?
If anyone is interested: After a long search I settled with Dual SIM Selector Pro. Not a dialer, only a SIM card chooser. I can choose what SIM to use by google account.

Mate 20 Pro and Android Auto Call Dialer Bug details

As detailed here (rebuild url by removing spaces);
www. reddit. com/r/Huawei/comments/9w5vwc/huawei_mate_20_pro_android_auto_dialer_bug
It seems the bug stemmed from a missing Voicemail Option settings on the current version (126 and previous ?) of the EMUI.
Looking at my Mate 20 Pro, the Voicemail settings cant be found.
Thus from Android Auto app, an attempt to read the System Voicemail setting will cause program to throw an EXCEPTION error. Now, how do we fix this ?
Disable permissions for contacts and call log worked for me as a temporary fix.
I'm confused as if I press and Hold 1 from the dialler it connects me to my Carriers Voicemail as expected, and that's not something I manually configured.
NB haven't tested with Android Auto as I don't use it
NB I can also reconfigure by going to Call Settings| More| VoiceMail Where there are 4 options
Service Provider : Configured as "My Network Provider"
Voicemail number : configured as "901"
Notification Sound : Select
Vibrate On/Off
O2 UK provided M20P on .122 FW
Edit Add: Just installed Android Auto and starts , runs & seems to work as expected
NB also noticed you referred to the .126 FW which some peeps seem to be getting instead of .122

You are lucky Your version of the firmware provide Voicemail options. I tried looking for mine via press and Hold 1 on the Phone Dialer and viola -- No Voicemail settings i can set to . I also tried to look for it via search on the Android Settings Menu and there is none. Is it a telco activated option or is it because we have a different version of the firmware ?
Also, i did that "remove all the SIM cards" thingy to test if Android Auto will not crash when the dialer is clicked - viola -- Android Auto did not crash.
Now, how do i get Voicemail activated on my side ? hmmm
ok, here is my not so great Android Auto Dialer Bug QUICK FIX
I used TWO (2) SIM cards, 1st one is a Data Only SIM card with no Telephony service placed at slot1 of the Mate 20 Pro. 2nd one is my primary telephony sim card attached in Slot #2.
Settings:
All Data Access on Sim Card 1
Telephone Calls default on Sim Card 2
I discovered that Android Auto will always check which sim card with internet settings and will attempt to get telephony settings from there and since there is no telephony service on Simcard 1, Android Auto will skip the Voicemail setting retrieval and will proceed to display the dialer
From there, i can now initiate the call via Sim Card 2

From your other post I see you have a dual SIM version, maybe that explains the FW version difference.
Question :
Was your phone :
a) bought SIM Free Outright
b) Carrier/Telco provided with contract
If a) then I would have expected it to have all the options avaialble and be unrestricted.
if b) then it may be that your carrier/telco has deactivated some settings to make you pay extra for features.
Do you have Voicemail with your carrier ?

Bought it SIM Free.
I think the telco provider has disabled it but my previous phone which is a Huawei P10 (transitioned to Mate 20 pro a week ago) has Voicemail settings in it
UPDATE:
I recently got a PATCH update from Huawei for Mate 20 Pro FW .126 Patch 02 and VoiceMail options are there and Android Auto Dial Bug is now FIXED
Also, i dont have to remove call log and contact permissions from AA. It is now working as expected
Okay guys, this is an error due to the way the firmware is installed. It all comes down to the carriers and their software. Using the M20 pro on vodafone, AA crashes, doesn’t even start. I’m returning that phone and going with EE, and i forgot AA crashes, tried it just now and it works fine. It’s all to do with the default voicemail setting the carriers have. Also making a voicemail request by holding 1 may work for people having the crash.
Deleted VM no and re added works perfectly now
Happy user!!!
Which means previous versions of the EMUI tend to be buggy on the Voicemail settings. Either a reset of VM for those with the settings available and a f/w upgrade for those without VM options on their phone.

I just tried this and it also appears to be working when opening AA on the phone and going to dialler, just have to try in the car now and fingers crossed it will work.
*edit*
Just tried it in the car and all good also. Who needs the patch lol
