Question How to unlock bootloader? (no "OEM Unlock" option available) - Samsung Galaxy A52 5G

Hey everyone,
Does anyone have any suggestions to unlock the bootloader on the A52 5G? My model number is SM-A526U1, purchased directly from Samsung to the US.
There is no "OEM Unlock" option available under the developer options on my phone. I've tried adjusting the date and time on the phone and that does not seem to work.
Thank you for any assistance!

Hi I have the same phone from Samsung directly. It's carrier unlocked, but like you said in developer options, no 'OEM Unlock" option. I am going to try ADB and see how far I get.

Let me know how it goes! I've been thinking that may be the only way although I worry about bricking the device using that route.

Lookis like for now, the only way to unlock the bootloader is to pay a 3rd party to unlock the phone. I hope this will change soon.

I returned the phone today. Not worth the extra fee to unlock, and little to no developer support at this time.

And it won't change any time soon. Samsung phones get little to no support from hobby devs. Samsung keeps adding stuff on top of stuff to keep users from unlocking bootloader, many of the devs have moved on to devices from Xiaomi.

Official Developer Edition

Just days after my team Unlocked the IROM, Samsung is selling a "Developer Edition". This developer edition will be more secure than the exploit unlock my team provides.

I find this really funny. I will also call those who pay for this device a sucker.
heck yea
Why would anyone in their right mind fork that kind of money over, when Adam Outler has opened this bad device up for you, you are right, they are a sucker if they fall for this.
Need to hire you Adam. Samsung will make major inprovements. I call for a petition.
Sent from my rooted Verizon Galaxy Note 2. FU Verizon and all tour BS you throw around.
I can think of several reasons to buy it. First, and most important, if Samsung gets high demand for this, it gives them data to send back to Verizon on subsequent models saying "look, there is a market for unlocked phones". This is especially true if Samsung sells significantly more of them on another carrier, and there is high demand for the unlocked version.
Another reason would be, if this is shipping unlocked in a manner that would allow you to flash the kernel and recovery, you are getting an unlocked phone that still has its warranty. Technically, you can restore your current phone to the factory state and get warranty coverage, but you broke the warranty. That would be less of an issue on the Developer edition.
Next, you'll never have to worry about an OTA update breaking the unlocked state of your device. It is possible that checks will be introduced to require a specific bootloader version to work with updated radios or kernels, or other proprietary libraries. We may be able to hack around it, but this isn't something you'd need to worry about here.
Finally, lets say you want to buy the device at full retail to keep your unlimited data. Why go and buy it at Verizon and let them make money off of a locked phone? This goes back to the first point too. Spend the same amount with Samsung, let them get the profits for producing an unlocked device.

none of those are valid reasons. They are all possible on your device already. If they wanted to collect data they could.

They can collect unlocked data, but they can't say "these people wanted an unlocked device only". By purchasing the phone directly from them, they have hard numbers to provide. Also, how is the possibility of an OTA limiting future radios, etc. based on bootloader version not valid? Are they likely to do it? No, but it is still a possibility. And why would not buying it from Verizon be an invalid reason? You seem to hate them for locking it, so why would you buy it directly from them to help support them further in locking the device? I'd rather have whatever profits there are go only to Samsung.

I was under the impression(probably mistaken) that if we have a custom recovery installed that we wouldn't have to worry about an OTA installing itself? Am I incorrect in assuming this?
Thanks!
The way I see it, Samsung wants the phone unlocked from the start. They know that they can appeal to a greater Android crowd by letting it be easily unlocked, as it is on virtually all other flavors of the phone. When it comes to Verizon however, they have no say in the matter initially. It must be locked. This is the same for pretty much all other phone OEM's on Verizon as well. Hell, my old Droid X STILL doesn't have an unlocked bootloader.
By selling a "developer edition" that works on Verizon, it's kinda like they're sticking the finger back at Verizon while simultaneously making direct profit. Since they are the ones who made this beautiful device, I have no problem with this. They definitely deserve it. And they could opt to just not sell us these unlocked devices anyway, leaving us in the dust to deal with waiting on OTA's and never being able to truly update our device with custom firmware.
Either way if it weren't for you Adam and your team, this would be our only option. It's amazing to me that you guys were able to break Verizon's grasp on our devices and really stick it to them. As someone who has endured the annoying locked bootloader for a long time with my Droid X, it makes me grin ear to ear seeing their attempts to control our devices be foiled in just a couple of weeks after release.
Muchos gracias friend. And a big OORAH to you.

The OTA won't install itself, but, there could be checks in place that require everything to be a specific version before they would work. Obviously we're not on a stock bootloader, which has it's own version and checksum info. They could put something in that keeps let say, the cell radio from working if the bootloader isn't the proper version, thereby forcing you to unlock and update, or be stuck on old software. I doubt that this will happen, but it is a possiblity.

the problem is not samsung its verizon...samsung does not encrypt bootloaders. verizon requests the device to be locked and samsung must comply in order to manufacture devices for that network.

OK I found that under application manager>all>SDM
The option to disable is greyed out so I guess I will need to freeze via TiBu
Thank you for this info I sure hope it works I hate the idea that Verizon can still bork my device.
Oops I see you deleted your last post, does that mean I need to hold off doing the procedure you posted?
These unlocked, developer's edition would make sense if they were available the day the locked version came out. Even if Adam and his team hadn't unlocked the bootloader, any metrics collected from sales or interest in this late developer's edition is would already be skewed because the next big thing like the s4 is now even closer making this device close to being dated before it even ships.

Root for Samsung Galaxy J3 Luna Pro (SM-S327VL) Tracfone

The Emerge gets the root but this one doesn't? This phone is pretty much the exact same phone as specs show it. So, why is this phone getting the shaft while the other gets more attention? I would love to root the phone but seems every phone I by from Tracfone does not ever get root attention except my LG Optimus Fuel, which is way too old to even bother with.
Come on developers. I would like to put a custom rom on this but it seems like it will never happen. I guess me and people that have the same phone as me are just SOL. Thanks a whole lot! :crying:
Tracfones typically have locked bootloaders which make it very difficult to root. They also tend to lock phones down more than most carriers. Nearly every android phone can turn on developer options by tapping the build number 7 times but you can't even do that on a tracfone I recently got (SM-S320VL). Lower end phones and less popular models just don't get the attention that higher end phones do so it's very unlikely you'll see a root for your phone unless Kingroot or Kingoroot find an exploit in the current Android OS's - which I also see as unlikely being the newer OS's are getting harder to root all the time.
I got developer options turned on and I have done on all phones from Tracfone. What are you talking about?
LG Optimus Fuel (Rooted)
ZTE Citrine
LG Rebel
Samsung Galaxy J3 Luna Pro
All with Developer options enabled.
Also, does not explain why the Samsung Galaxy J3 Emerge gets the root. All it is, is a different network and different name. Pretty much same phone and same OS.
Also, why is it people answer but really do not answer about what is asked but just answer to what they only want to answer, which is not what should be answered?
J3 luna pro
I had no problems enabling my developer opitons not one bit of trouble I have the exact same model it Verizon one factory unlocked under tracphone from my knowledge Verizon Samsung was always harder to root so that maybe the case with our phone trust me I want to root mine really bad and been patient I bought this phone as am waiting on another phone release that am pre ordering wanted something inexpensive an decent no lag and fast I choose this if that is Verizon as well you maybe able to use the root unless it Odin I would do more research and remain patient they do alot of phones an deal with alot of different models firmwares it not that easy I want to root mine so I can get cm os because it lot faster no bloatware more smoother scrolling better battery life can't wait to make this phone faster all Round better

No need to take that tone with someone who was nicely addressing your question. If you bite someone's head off just because they didn't (in your opinion) get every thing right in their response to something your not likely to get much help on these forums. People do not profit from helping you, they are doing it to be kind. When you are asking for help try to keep this in mind.

That's fairly hilarious. I've got over 40 smart phones and nearly all of them are rooted, many with custom ROMS and some I got with Google FRP enabled which I managed to bypass despite not finding a single person, forum or youtube that could explain how to bypass it on this particular phone ( not the SM-S320VL I mentioned ) with the build it had on it. If yours works thats great but I am telling you that this particular SM-S320VL phone with the version that is on it does not allow developer options to be turned on. Doing an OEM unlock and turning on developer options is so basic and Kindergarten for almost everyone on here that your comment shows a lack of understanding what XDA is about and the type of members on here. All you have done is make yourself look foolish.

My point in mentioning a different but similar model is that some carriers have their models more locked down and Tracfone seems to be one of them. Maybe that one had a problem as I do have a couple other Tracfone models that with developer options able to be turned on. But the whole point on my post was to say root is less likely for some of the lower end phones and that most of the Tracfone models I've seen were not rootable.
As I said in another post elsewhere, I have owned tabs that have come prerooted from factory. So why couldn't our phones be sold to us prerooted or at least ready to root? As far as the conversation goes with you... I am done and over it. We all know TracFone and straight talk do not make very smart decisions but they are doing better. They just need to listen to their subscribers and fix the stuff that's wrong on their end.

hopefully, by now you've managed to learn the very elementary process for enabling dev options in most Android. You have to tap 8 times on the build number. It's been that way since at least android 4 if not sooner

I know how to enable Dev ops. I am not a tard like the vast majority of our wasted youth today are. As a matter of fact I repair and reprogram computers and also to repair LCDs and other various goodies on mobile phones in my local area. Been running my business for about 8 years now. The way it works is you tap build number 8 times to enable Dev ops, then go into it and allow oem unlock. It should never ask you for a pin number. You may be under the line sim unlock. Sim unlock is lower in the Dev ops than OEM UNLOCK. Good hunting.
Edit- the setup sim lock/unlock is in the security menu so judging by this you may not have developer options enabled DirtyLikaRat
Does SM-S377TL = SM-S327VL?
Hello, This comment is why I am a member Thank you Droidzer1. I work with Hardware support and sometimes people just don't get it - No two exact same phones are exactly the same - There are too many factors.
Hopefully you can help me out.
Issue
I have a Samsung J3 Luna Pro for TracPhone but the Model is SM-S377TL and I cannot find any combination or Flash files for this device to enable ADB and Debugging during FRP so I can reset the FRP code (Turn it off or disable) with the MiracleBox software.
Does SM-S377TL = SM-S327VL in the sense of FRP software coding and placement? (When I worked for some of the big Wireless providers I noticed that the Same Device and Models would have different Model Numbers (GSM vs CDMA) which makes sense due to software and hardware differences and I am worried this may be the same but I am hoping the files can be used in both devices without issue.
Any Advice from Anyone is greatly appreciated! (This phone was legally purchased but has an old Google Account that cannot be accessed on it)

Now that Honor has stopped providing the unlock codes for the bootloader, how to get it?
Or from now is impossible to install a custom recovery or root the phone?

have you actually tried? because not officially supporting and not working are two different things, people with different not supported models were successful when just using auto detection

So probably i sould waste at least 4€ to trying to get a code? All this because Honor has taken this stupid decision.
Btw somewhere i've read that Huawei has patched all backdoor used to get bootloader codes with these alternative ways.
Yes i've tried. I'm italian and first i've asked on Italian network, after on German network and they still wont give it to me.
1. i answered you how to get it
2. there was 2 months period before deadline everyone knew they will stop providing codes, so you either had plenty of time to get a code or not buy phone without this option if it's such issue for you

I wonder if that will me real...it's an annoying situation.
I came from an Honor 8, rooted, so there are so many app's that need root.
I really don't know if it is better to sell the phone right now

Hello everyone, I am from Ukraine !!! The company Huawei and Honor do not take into account any reasons, I have been writing them to various mail and support services since the week, starting with Chinese, English, European support services, and the answer is the same everywhere.
"Dear Customer,

And in my country in general, when they hear that I have a Chinese version of Honor 10 SALT-AL10, they do not want to talk to me !!! Thereby, I infringe upon my rights, since I bought a smartphone, I paid the money, but I cannot fully use it. This is similar to the fact that I bought meat, but I can not eat the whole piece, because the manufacturer has caught it, and said to eat half.

Hi!
I received my Honor 10 last Friday (after more thant 2 months waiting, thanks to Banggood Moth*# Fuc*/-/-) and i want to unlock the bootloader, but...
Well, is there any site to try it reliably? Like Huawei?
Also tried the other way, DC Unlocker, and write them, but answered
"Hi,
Sorry, this phone not supported by our software."
So, anyone can help me? Rooting my phone is very important for my work!

Question [CLOSED] pixel 6 january 2022 FRP bypass solution?

pixel 6 january 2022 FRP bypass solution?
the sim card pin method is not an option so idk what to do and there's NOTHING online.. anywhere...
Unless you know the account and password you're screwed. FRP bypass options went by the wayside around Android 8, last time I checked.
Regardless, since there is no way to verify ownership of the device in question I won't be helping anyone with attempts to bypass Google security features.

And since this usually portends a stolen or lost device that has been sold I suggest the mods lock this thread before it goes off the rails.

Were you to search my posts from the last five years or so you'd find that my answer is consistent on this topic. I don't deny FRP bypass solutions exist, but haven't seen or heard any in at least four years.
It doesn't matter to me whose device it is. It could very well be yours but it could also be a lost or stolen device. FRP exists to prevent reuse of lost or stolen devices. Since it's not possible to prove ownership my answer to everyone is the same: remember your username or password.
If you chose to use a throwaway account in setting up your phone, then this will be a very expensive lesson for you about why that isn't a great idea.
Ok Streph, I get it, you're smarter than me and you want this entire thread to be aware of it.
So now that this guy is satisfied, let's get back to the point of the thread...
ANYONE WHO KNOWS HOW TO BYPASS FRP ON PIXEL 6 JANUARY 2022 PLEASE GET IN TOUCH!

Now that you have insulted a senior member with a childish attack why don't you go to a hacking site where you can find out how to break into a phone that probably is blacklisted in the US and more than likely lost or stolen. Then you can sell it again. You won't get help here. Maybe all caps will get you the attention you crave.

Would like to hire someone to root my TCL A509DL

Hi,
I want to root my TCL A509DL phone but just don't have the time to figure out how to do it. I'd like to hire someone to root it for me. I'll pay $50 and give you remote access to my PC which will have the phone connected via USB with USB debugging mode on. I'll pay through PayPal and I'll pay $25 in advance and the remaining $25 upon completion of the root. Any takers?

Because it's a TracFone branded device, and manufactured by TCL, I was reluctant to believe at first that this phone could be oem unlocked and rooted. After some research and chats with members here on XDA, I see that I was wrong. Amazingly, the A509DL can be unlocked and rooted.
Viva La Android said:
This phone cannot be rooted. It is currently not possible due to the perma-locked bootloader. Unless an exploit can be implemented to bypass the locked bootloader, rooting, flashing, modifying, etc., will not.ne possible on the TCL A509DL.

I was just wondering that if this phone can't be rooted, why are people like The Android Shop charging $175.00 to send customers over to MetaServices just so they can get their email and cash apps hacked. Are The Android Shop and Meta- Services real companies?

I was incorrect on my previous statement. The A509DL can certainly be bootloader unlocked, rooted, network unlocked, etc. I apologize for the misinformation. I have removed my post stating incorrect info.

I am still looking for someone who can help me root this phone. It's a TCL A509DL. I should get another phone but now it's a matter of principle. I should be able to do on my phone what everyone else can do on their phone. It's horrible that I have to either buy a new one, beg someone to help me or pay someone to help me.
The software to root your phone can be found online free. First, unlocking the bootloader is required. MTK Client is the recommended tool for that job. After that, patching your boot image with Magisk and flashing it to the /boot partition will get you root. Do a search here on XDA for "TCL A509DL" and read over the device threads for the procedures. Once I get the free time I'll be posting a full rooting tutorial for this device.

I pray that you do that soon. I paid the Android Shop already to help me but here it is three days later and I am still working on it. They said that I would have to pay another $25.00 for Ninja Root. This is ridiculous! I would be more than happy to pay someone to walk me through the process.

Ninja Root is not required. I'm not saying that Ninja Root can't do the job because I'm not familiar with it, but I do know you can root the phone without it. Be very wary of any service that charges a fee for rooting. The Android OS embodies the spirit of open-source platforms and free use policy. I don't condone services that charge fees to root. I do realize that you made the initial offer to pay someone to root your device. You can easily open yourself up to being scammed by doing so. Just be cautious and use your intuition. Be patient. If nothing else, I will be writing up a tutorial when free time permits.
If you are referring to Sunshine by The Root Ninja, I am familiar with that software and it is legit. Again, I don't know its applicability to unlocking or rooting the A509DL, but I do know it is legit with unlocking many models of bootloader that are otherwise perma-locked.

My friend, you will be the first to know, you have my word on that. Let me again emphasize that I'm not saying that whoever is wanting to root your device is a scammer or isn't legit. I'm just personally opposed to services that charge a fee for rooting.

Well, you are definitely learning on a device that is both unorthodox and rather complex to root. Most devices are a cake-walk compared to the TCL A3. This phone steps outside the bounds of a typical rooting strategy. Traditionally, TracFone branded devices have not been rootable. New innovations in bootloader unlocking methods have made this possible. I was unaware of these new methods until only recently. That is the reason I was previously incorrect in stating that the TCL A3 could not be rooted.
If all goes as planned, I will have time this coming week to post a rooting guide.

That's the spirit...learn on this complex device and normal device rooting will come much simpler. In any event, I will keep you posted.
