Several Huawei phones Crackling mic audio Seeking advice/Help! Some Samsung too Huawei, streamlabs app or YouTube fault ((update) some Samsung´s too) - Huawei Developers

((update) ive not found one until now but aparently some samsung phones have this issue too not only huawei. getting gray hair over this
Aparently as staded from streamlabs support there are some sansung phones with the same problem to

Hi all!! Hope im posting this in the right place
I'll try to keep it as simple as possible, but aint going to be easy, I'm out of options and really need help please or some kind of advice.
Simpton's are cracking/crackling audio like static discharge pops with built in device microphone/audio or any other micro or audio being streamed to YouTube with StreamLabs app or similar app, that have on screen alerts, layers, chatbot ETC... I only know of “streamlabs” and “stream elements” I believe there are not alternatives to this apps to my knowledge, if you do so, please comment or dm me thanks. I will test then..
For most tests I use streamlabs app since similar apps that I know of at this time have the same issue, no point in testing then all extensively on all phones etc.
It happens when livestreaming to YouTube and only YouTube, even if I stream simultaneously to YouTube twitch and Facebook, it still only happens on YouTube.
Of what I could think of to test, no matter what settings on the device, settings on streamlabs app, YouTube studio, or a combo of then that I could came up with, it does not make any noticeable difference and also from the mobile phones i managed to test, i only detected the fault on Huawei mobile devices YouTube combo in previously mentioned apps.
Link Example of crackling sound with Huawei mate20 PRO (my last stream) https://youtu.be/2va3e7803U803U8
Other streaming apps most simple ones not similar to the ones I previously mentioned, some do work fine, as far as audio goes, YouTube official app included, but without joy for me, since they lack many features or the set of features, I need.
Mind you I have a Huawei P10 and a Huawei mate20 pro with the last being the prefered to stream, and it was not always like this and until sometime last year there was no problem of this kind.
What I did test so far...
I realize that no matter what app settings or app of this kind I could use, the problem is always present, so most tests I've done on others mobile phones then not my own, are either on streamlabs in the defaults settings 720p at around 3500 bit rate or in fullhd 1080 at 6000 bitrate witch is close to what I regularly use, with normal lag time and variable stream keys on YouTube as default too, despite it never made a difference, and also with phone systems up do date at the time I tested to the best of my knowledge on defaults settings too (display store phones tho).
I've tested as above, Huawei, Samsung, Xiaomi and Oppo
Tested phones with crackling audio issue examples links : (ALL Huawei not on purpose)
-Huawei mate20 Pro https://youtu.be/2va3e7803U8
(mate20 one is my last fishing stream really really bad audio already posted)
-Huawei P40 lite
-Huawei P40
-Huawei P40 PRO https://youtu.be/iPFIV-sRJgk
-Huawei P10
Huawei is the only phone brand I could detected the crackling audio issue, and all that ive tested show the same symptom.
Tested phone brands with no crackling audio issue, example links :
-oppo find x3 pro https://youtu.be/u5zRtwa1Uhg
-Samsung s21 ultra 256gb
-Xiaomi m11 5g https://youtu.be/LHbOurc6FSk
-Xiaomi mi 10 T lite TEST https://youtu.be/fZfVqTjp79M
-Xiaomi red mi note 7 https://youtu.be/a8v6g_8Nuo4
Could not find detect the same issue as found on Huawei on any other brand that I have tested so far, all brands besides Huawei seemed fine.
Still testing on my own phones, p10 and mate20 pro, I managed to emui rollback the p10 thru a few versions testing each one up to android 8 with no avail also done a factory reset , still the problem was there. (Mind you I'm no tech guy just trying to troubleshoot this)
Funny enough or not at all, i could not test rollback from emui 11 to 10 on my mate20 pro, apparently a known issue with hisuite displaying “no internet connection check your network” or similar message problem, despite I did it on the p10 same pc same cable just different phone, tried all solutions for it I could find online like disabling my firewall in “DOS”, tried different pc too, but with no luck.
Whats up with that too?
Even so I don’t believe rolling back my mate20 pro will solve this problem because I did manage to rollback with the p10 and no joy. Or maybe not.
But hey what do I know... I know of other streamers on YouTube with the same problem too but not many tho.
with my own phones with no avail, I've tried from downgrade to several old streamlabs versions to rollback the phone emui on the Huawei p10, tested all settings, resolutions, bits rates, stream keys, 30 and 60fps, all audio options on the app.
Tried to change between stream lag times option on YoutubeStudio also variable and fixed stream keys, I'm probably forgetting a lot of stuff I tested.
Also, a while ago after the problem started, I notice that streaming in 2k would solve the problem, but after a short while in time the sound glitch appeared too in 2k.
Don’t think it is a matter of options or combo of then that's causing or either going to solve the problem.
Why only YouTube?
Why all Huawei I've tested and no other brands?
Why it was ok when I bought the phone for almost a year or so it worked fine including my p10 and mate20 pro also, and all of a sudden, the crackling started?
Why rolling things back does not solve the problem?
Why not all streaming apps?
Hope to hear someone's opinion on this, and thank you if you have read this far... will post any updates on this on my side thru editing this one.
Best regards
(updates)

Hey there. I think there is actually an open report for this - let me check on it for you. One moment.(edited)
Pesca da Treta — Today at 3:12 PM
thanks buddy
streamlabs suport — Today at 3:15 PM
So, there has been a report being investigated by our developers for some time now on this issue. It's with Android users and Youtube, and it results in audio distortion/crackling/etc. Our developer has told us that there really isn't an ETA right at this time. I know that isn't ideal, but we've been actively following up on this report to see if we're making any headway.
[3:16 PM]
It's hard to narrow down where the issue is, but it definitely isn't the phone itself necessarily. Samsung users have had the same problem, so it's something between the operating system, Youtube, and Streamlabs. I will say, however, that this doesn't happen with Twitch or Facebook.
Pesca da Treta — Today at 3:20 PM
yes i do know about the facebook and twitch no problem, i didn't knew about other brands doing it to could find one yet did tested a few , thanks for that. it narrows it down a bit for me but gets me know here for know and its been almost a year now. so its not because its an huawei
shouldn't rollback streamlabs app to an old one and phone version work? because it does not
its really weird
no luck for me...
whats options do i have?
and thanks for you patience
streamlabs suport— Today at 3:24 PM
Oh, no worries at all. Unfortunately, rolling back the app version wouldn't be something we could do. We've been waiting quite some time to try and find a resolve for this, but the issue has been bit difficult to reproduce for our developers, so there isn't a lot of information to go on. I'm really sorry about that. I don't have much guidance on working around this issue other than streaming to a different platform, but I do understand that isn't ideal for Youtube streamers. I wish that I had better advice.
Pesca da Treta — Today at 3:33 PM
easy to replicate , any huawei phone. p10 p20 p40 lite pro mate 20 pro. so many. i don't see a real will on streamlabs to fix it. rolling back the app is an option ive done it, actually i've done it it all versions of streamlabs mobile since 2018 easy found online. i even roll back the phone version to on mate 20 pro and p10. i understand your doing what you can and to the best of what you can say. but i really doubt any real eford is being put into this. same thing happens with stream elements can only say i'm very disappointed and will take this in consideration in future, also recommendations.. im getting no real help from streamlabs it self. not you you are 5 star rating thanks you. any additional info can be left anonymously on ......... thank you
[3:35 PM]
wonder if a custom room on my mate 20 would solve this
streamlabs suport — Today at 3:36 PM
You are welcome. I understand the frustration, and if you would like to get email updates on this issue, you can certainly submit a ticket (I imagine that would be easier than asking in Discord every so often). https://support.streamlabs.com/hc/en-us/requests/new

That is not true, maybe true for then, not for me because i have done it easy easy it can be found on aptoide app all streamlabs previous app versions, still didn't work still crappy mic audio not even with the my p10 rollback to android 8, how can that be explained, after all we have learned so far? knowing that it working fine last year and now knowing that thousands of huawei phones are affected i've tested all series p40, mate20 pro, p10. at least could not find more to test, i guess its probably every single one. if you have an huawei phone and want to test it please let me know the results and model... hell yes even other brands if you want to help, please test streamlabs on your phone and post stream link here with make and model especially if you own huawei or samsung

Like i said above, just get any p40 series phone mate20 pro, p10. those i know for sure but i guess there are many more its over a year with this known issue, does not look like they are making an effort

So they say its not the phone it self, i know that because they wore all working fine last year but not any more, cant have thousands of phones breaking down same hardware all at the same time, must be something in there software some update in conjunction with streamlabs and only youtube... but if it was a bad update from huawei would be solved by rolingback phones? logic says yes, but that didn't work too, not even with older versions of streamlabs! is it a youtube problem?! some apps stream fine! only most known streaming apps have this issue, like streamlabs and stream elements...
im going to keep following on this, any input from anyone would be very much appreciated, thank you

Update from Streamlabs support maybe good news

[MINI PRO][SK17][CICADA] Continuous electrostatic noise when the device is active

Hi all!
I've got some strange electrostatic noise from the back side of my mini pro (when the screen is on and even off - just listen to it longer). And it turned out that the problem is common for new mini pro (some people just doesn't mention it). Looks like it is hardware one, so it could harm overall device work in the future (no one know when). So this thread was started to collect all related info: reasons, workarounds, solutions, official comments etc. If you're sk17 owner, please, take part in this thread (check instructions below).
Sony tells that the problem was solved. So if you have this issue:
1. Update the software of your device via SEUS or PC Companion
2. Visit repair centre if the problem remains
3. Having troubles with the repairment? Contact Johan-SEAnswers on official SE forum

27.oct.2.3.4 update launched. They removed the noise from videos. But it's just a workaround. You can still hear it by putting the backside of your sk17 to your ear with the screen turned on.
05.oct.Cricket Team rebranded to Cicada Team. More info...; firmware update time shifted to late October - early November.
12.sep.: SE promises to solve the problem via software update (check this post for details). The same day me and BlackArty got similar emails from Russian SE Customer Support, which promised to launch that update in mid-October.
SE really approved the problem? Check Linkinsoldier post for details.
Thanks to sxxorp we have massive update. Check the official thread.
All sk17 owners! Please contribute to the related thread on SE official community! Don't let them to forget about the problem.

You can use the following template (bold text should be replaced by the data of your sk17):
My mini pro has electrostatic noise when the device is active.
Device model: sk17i (your country)
SI 1249-4753
Prod. week: 11W28
Click to collapse
All the info could be found on the sticker under the battery.
What devices have this problem?
At the moment both SK17i and SK17a are reported to have this issue. Production weeks mentioned: 11W28, 11W29, 11W30, 11W31, 11W32, 11W33, 11W34, 11W35, 11W36, 11W37, 11W38.
How to check the device?
Listen to samples to know what kind of noise we're speaking about.
Turn the screen on, place the backside of your mini pro near your ear and here it is (the best part of the backside to 'enjoy' that sound is upper left corner, right under the headphones jack). Though sometimes you can hear it even when you're calling someone if the environment is quite enough. And it's still here when the screen is off (not continuous if there's no active apps; several short clicks with silent intervals). Actually, the noise is here when the device is active (even with the screen off). For example, connect headphones, start the music player, lock the screen and check the noise.
Please, share the results of your tests in comments below and take part in SE community discussion mentioned above. This could help us to know more about this problem and get it faster to solve the issue. If you do not have the noise, please, make a short video in silent environment, upload it to youtube or somewhere else and share the link with us!
Contact SE support in your country with the problem description via email, twitter, facebook etc. If you'll get some interesting info from them, please, share it with us.
The device is checked. What to post?
Please, first of all contribute to the related thread in official SE community (look at the BIG red text above).
Do your device has that noise or not? If not, proove it by video sample.
Info about your device: SK17i or SK17a, country, SI and production week (a string like "11W28", which means 28th week of 2011; you may use the template under the BIG red text). All could be found at the sticker under the battery.

I sent an email to Russian SE Customer Support. They told me to go to service. Without any comments. It was done on August, 20.
UPD The phone got back on August, 25 with software reinstalled and noise persisted. Though they told me that 'there's no described problem'.
sxxorp has got a little bit more info from them. Check his posts: #31 and #32.
Somewhat like the first official approval of the problem: SE left the comment under one of the 'noisy videos':

There's the similar comment in the official thread.
Probable reasons
No ideas for now.
Workarounds / solutions
Removing the back cover reduces the noise.
Looks like plugging USB-cable in (doesn't matter if it's plugged into laptop or charger) removes the noise. But still some quite clicks (not so annoying though).
(thanks to BlackArty)The noise disappears when the processor is loaded heavily. For example, run the StabilityTest (could be downloaded from Market for free) and check your device. You'll hear only 'metronome clicks'.
Check post #3 and #10 by sxxorp to find out what else we've tried to do.

Thanks for confirming this issue. I was vaguely looking at getting the Mini Pro but if this is such an issue I don't think I will bother for now.
Hi, thanks for dealing with the issue, you wrote many new info on the topic - and it doesn't sound good... seems like a hardware-plan related construction problem... Many sample videos contain the same problem - in fact I haven't seen one without it...
I'd like to have one Mini Pro, but this holds me back.
Is it the same with the Mini (ST15i)?
You said on the official forum that you contacted SE - how, and did they answer?
Ideas:
- any possibility to separate the mic from the 3.5 jack, with some small material?
- plug-in only the USB-cable (or a chunk of it...) without anything on the other side (no laptop/charger) , does it work?
(- maybe recording with headset connected , so the jack is plugged-in? (or does this prevent the phone to record video with sounds?))
sorry if these can't be made, I'm before purchasing the mobile I can't test the ideas... but it'd be good to have a solution!
I got an answer from SE customer support. They told me to go to service.
I did it. So no tests for a while. Sorry. I'll give more info when the device comes back. Maybe, someone else will test it? I'm sure that there's another sk17 owners on forum
As I told you there are several sample videos on youtube, as I can recall all sharing this problem... I suppose Minis without keyboard don't have this noise, jack was placed totally different.
What could a service do with this problem?? It seems badly planned, rather than faulty hardware...
Keep us updated: your phone becoming OK or not (and how they did it...)

i know i have this little chirp or scratch noise. exactly like the video in the 1st post of the russian youtube. i'v tried to record in vga and same thing happens. i love the phone but a lithe disappointed in the recording chirp background. not horribly bad but still bad.

So it is just the Pro and not the Mini that has this issue?
I'm not sure, but I've seen videos made with the Mini that was a lot clearer. Their inner structure is different, it ca easily tur out that the Mini has a lot more space to avoid this problem (despite bigger size the Pro is more compressed because of the keyboard) and the jack is on the other side...
I have the mini pro sk17a if that makes any difference

When your's was made? (see Sur1k's 1st post how to check)
In the meantime one forum member from the Hungarian SE-forum called SEria (http://www.seria.hu/forum/viewtopic.php?p=120572#120572 in Hungarian language) tried to check some options, I'll provide a rough translation:
he made 4 videos: normal, USB plugged (in charger also), headset plugged, headset+USB plugged:
http://www.mediafire.com/?y4k4cvwdjxns4v8
The video background noise becomes normal only when USB was plugged. He also suspects hardware failure...
Production week: 11W28... the same.
Plugging in only the USB cable, while the other end is free doesn't work on his device (if it worked, good video could be made with plugging in only the cable as a primitive workaround...)
UPD: we have a 11W30 with the noise
Can anyone confirm or deny that this issue happens with the SK17i model? I'm looking to order it next week and if that's the case I'll opt for the standard mini.
damien-tt,
well, let's read the thread name carefully. I think there's an answer to your question.

It seems likely that it's one piece of hardware inside interfering with the camera audio, which unless SE revise the internal workings in some way seems unlikely to be fixed anytime soon.
i can confirm this! Same problem here :/
edit: if the problem is the microphone, why does calling work without problems?
edit2: even WORSE: Try putting your phone on your ear "WHILE THE DISPLAY IS ON!!!!"... you can hear the voice too!!!

Ear on display you can hear the voice? What kind of voice? I'm thinking about buying this phone because it's perfect, but this problem made me curious. Is everyone with mini pro having that clicking noise?
when the display is on and your holding the phone like you're trying to call someone... you can hear the sound WHEN ITS TOTALLY SILENT around you!
Same problem, when you're making a call.
But this is only noticable if it's really totally silent around you and i think this might be related to the problem, cell phones tend to make "noices" to other speakers too... maybe this is related...
But the cam noice is more loud! Although, since I dont make any videos with the cell, it not that big of a deal for me! I'm keeping the phone,...
sxxorp,
my fault.
himuraken,
thanks for the report. And sorry for my poor reading skills
About the noise when the screen is on. Yep, I had the same problem. Turn the screen on, place the device near your ear and here it is (for better experience listen to that "hi-tech music" from the backside of the mini pro).
Still no news from the service...

Please help, ZP951 all time FLICKERING

Hi people, sorry if my english is not good.
Hi, thanks for reply me (and sorry if my english is not good)
The problem is LIKE this:
youtube.com/watch?v=iMnaUsH_Wfg
I went where i bought the mobile to repair it and they said "now all is OK, We change the display". But when I was come back to my home, the problem start again.
I come back to the shop again and they change me for other mobile but the same model.
3 hours all was perfect, but then, has started the problem again with the new mobile!!.
I read a lot of posts in Internet but i don't have any solution.
Someone can help me??
Thanks for all!!
Hello, I've tried in vain to get rid of this horrible flicker by flashing various ROMs. Sometimes it helped for a while, but the flicker always came back. Zopo seems to completely ignore this issue. So better don't expect to get a solution for this device ever. As PWM-dimmed monitors and TVs have become standard, unfortunately, it also seems to me that many people have become unresponsive (or rather dull) to this dramatically technical aberration, so the complaints are rather limited. At least some PC monitor vendors like BenQ have become aware of this impairment and offer flicker-free monitors (DC-dimmed instead of PWM). But, actually, PWM doesn't seem to be the issue here...?! I've tested with my DSLR and there are no PWM-typical hard light on-off cuts. Regardless of that, the flicker is visible and is more than disturbing. I've now switched to a flawless Moto G4 Play and will never ever buy any of Zopo's junk.

Wileyfox Swift 2 Plus - Sound recording issue

Hi,
I am curious to know if anyone else has experienced this issue or if I have been very unlucky to get the same issue on two different phones!
The issue is; when recording video or recording just sound in any sound recorder app, the playback come out very poorly and inconsistent. The sounds wavers in volume and quality, frankly, it's not much use.
To be clear, this is only when playing back recordings made by the user. Audio playback for websites and MP3 is perfectly fine.
I can only find one mention of this when Googling and that was on this forum here https://forum.xda-developers.com/swift-2/help/record-sound-swift-2-t3632541.
This sounds very much like the issue but there was no further mention of it.
Having already returned two, I'm not prepared to go through the stress of dealing with their awful customer service again (had to fall on my sword to Amazon to get the last one replaced only to find it had the same issue).
Given that there are 2,250 reviews for this device on amazon, I would really like to know if anyone else has noticed this? I am assuming, if it IS a firmware fault, then it will be fixed in further updates but it's incredibly annoying as I have what is otherwise a pretty good phone!
I don't use the video function THAT much but I would like the option to do it with decent sound if ever required!
Any feedback on this would be very much appreciated.
(I have previously factory reset the phone and tried the secondary audio codec in the video settings but neither made any difference).
I tried to record some sound yesterday and it came out awfully. Annoying indeed. (oh and my phone was factory reset since upgrading to Nougat)
Now I've never even tried to do this until today (and I've had the phone since spring) so it's not very important to me - but I'll mention it to Wileyfox on a forum where I know they're listening in.

Thanks, that would be great. Good to know I'm not the only one! I sent it back to Wileyfox explicitly detailing the fault but all they did was keep it for three weeks and perform a factory reset. Very disappointing. Hopefully, this will be addressed in a future update.

Hi Phil, I tried this today in normal circumstances (= not a noisy concert) and it seems to work fine when I just record my voice and footsteps
Was your issue also related to noisy circumstances? That would be a valuable information for Wileyfox.

Hi, no, the environment makes no difference, I can record me talking or a loud guitar or music from my laptop and they all sound terrible. I will try to upload an example if I am able to on this site.

Or maybe I won't as it's not letting me!

Brand new Stratos 3 impossible won’t pair with iPhone 11.

Hey guys!
Bought myself a Stratos 3 early this summer which was replaced under warranty because the battery was drained in a few hours, GPS unable to locate etc.
However, I could pair it with the (then) Amazfit App on my iPhone 11.
Last week I got my brand new replacement device which is impossible to pair with the (new) Zepp app. I’ve tried a million tips found online but it just won’t pair with my phone. I’ve scanned the QR code about 5000 times without success.
Tried with a friend’s Samsung model whatever and managed to link the device to my account. Then the watch is “unlocked”.
However, when trying to open the settings I keep getting the message “Unfortunately settings has stopped”. It still won’t sync with the iPhone and when resetting the device to factory settings I’m back at square one, unable to pair with iPhone.
Latest firmware in place according to the device when it’s “working”.
I’ve already contacted the company I’ve bought it from and I will return it the coming Monday.
However, I do like the looks of it and functions (when it’s working) so I thought I’d check with you guys if there are any ideas to get it working properly.
Thanks in advance!
Just update thé watch to latest Fw (search New Fw from the watch connected in WiFi) the app is unable to find it.
How do I do that when the watch says it has the latest fw?
Connect the watch to the WiFi then check update from the watch
So, i did pair it again with the Android, updated the device to latest fw.
It still won’t sync with my iPhone
Wonder if it’s something wrong with the Zepp app?
Anyway, I’ve had it with Amazfit. I’m returning it tomorrow.
I’m sorry to hear that, hope you approached [email protected]
I did the same thing, made a video and shared it with them selling hello. Eventually with a lot of issues. I gave up on the Stratos 3 Watch.
Now I don’t have to worry.
Plppppppppp
I haven’t reached out to their support, I cannot really see that they could help me out with this.
Anyway, fed up with trying to get it to work with me so it’s being sent back.
Might get an Honor Magicwatch 2 instead, they seem quite similar both in appearance and function.
Are you sure?? Does it work with iPhone as in iOS
As a last resort sort of try, I reached out to their support but to say the least, their support sucks a*s!
Haven’t sent it back yet, but will any day now.
Can anyone confirm that their Stratos 3 works fine with the iOS Zepp app? Particularly, Stratos 3 and an iOS iPhone 11? The fact that the watch works fine with Samsung Android devices but not with my (or anyone else’s iOS) device suggests that it’s their iOS Zepp app that’s corrupt!
Thanks!
Here many problems with iOS an Stratos 3. But same problems with both Zepp and Amazfit
New Zepp update for iOS released today
They’ve released numerous app updates during the past weeks/months but none of them has cured my problem
I’m traveling today but will check when I get home, fingers crossed.
Nope, doesn’t work.
With this I give up on any Amazfit/Huami watches (and all other products).
When clearly pointing out that Stratos 3 and the iOS Zepp app doesn’t work, total silence from the Amazfit support.
Never have I had a worser customer experience but I guess that I shouldn’t expect more..
