Need More Stuff!! - OnePlus Nord N10 5G Questions & Answers

I broke my cherry on this device as far as Mods and Rom etc, And I am very sad that there isn't more options available for upgrades and the like. It also sucks that OnePlus isn't offering any support for the device. I Come to the XDA site every day at least once, and I see all the other fancy devices getting all the love. GRRR! Are there any other options for this thing tha tI am missing or GSI that will work? I think I am just bored and need some more things to play with. I don't have money so I can't go out and just get another device so I am trying to keep this one going as long as I can. Any feedback is appreciated OnePlus

Where are the developers?

So far, only xboarder is really working on this (with some possible help but not posted), and he does not have a phone. Appears someone reneged on a deal.
When the MT4G and G2X came out, there were a lot that jumped in - what is the issue here?
I don't think you know but the device dropped on 10/17 i'm pretty sure & alot of people are viewing thread's just not as much developers , there are about 2 developers here now .
Developers are having hard time to decide which device should they buy..
they got multiple choices now...
Samsung Galaxy 2
Samsung Nexus 2
Htc Amaze
Plus all the devices are expensive to its gone he hard for them to get all....
Same , i just bought the amaze as a temperary , once the Galaxy Nexus come's out i'm purchasing that . The SGS2 has a terrible screen .

Team Whiskey will be on board soon--the phone is VERY new and we need to give people some time to buy the phones before they can start cooking.
Nevermind that the bootloader / s-on is still an issue...

The nexus will only come out on Verizon for the foreseeable future - and switching carries for the phone of the moment is ------.
As for Samsung, I have only had bad experiences with their software/policies - so not going there anytime soon. LG for same reason is also an issue.
How about buying all the developers this phone at full price so we can get the roms out? No? Bad idea? Why not? Too much money? Oh... didn't think of that.
LOL

I made my point. Simply put there are few developers because there are few developers with the phone. I'm a bit sarcastic at times.

The point was - is there some consensus that this phone is not of interest for some reason? I am in the remorse period and so not want to stick with a no-interest phone.

There sure is. It's expensive as hell! How many other phones are out now and how many are on the horizon? From a developers perspective they have a lot to chose from. Odds are slim that we'll get dozens of developers that are going to get this device immediately after it's release. We might get one or two at first and that's about all we have. For f#@k sake the main developer doesn't even have the damn phone! Give it time or return it. It's up to you. I am sticking with it because I see the potential and I believe that development will open up in the near future.
Examples:
MT3G didn't start getting support for about a week after Cyanogen got it.
MT3G 1.2 didn't start getting support for MONTHS because of driver conflicts and the lack to crack the bootloader (which still hasn't been done).
Vibrant... still doesn't have a stable CM rom release and it's been out for over a year.
These are just devices that I know about for certain. I'm sure there are many more.
So we've had the phone for less than a month and people are getting impatient? Why? Did you think that we'll have root BEFORE the phone was released? Just be patient. It's very unlikely that this will be the only phone that isn't going to have ICS, CM7/CM9, etc.

Make Xiaomi aware of how many people wants the kernel source

I started a thread on the horrible MIUI forums to make XIaomi aware of how important it is for all of us that they release the kernel source. Bump it and come with input if you want to help:
http://en.miui.com/thread-273322-1-1.html
Good luck you will need it. They almost never post it and when they do it is broken or incomplete. That's why developers won't buy their devices.

Custom Rom support for their earlier phones seems pretty good even if kernel source might not be totally complete. I have faith in the great devs and hope that xiaomi at least helps a little!

there are even official CM nightlies:

if OnePlus 3 comes with rumored specs/price ($301 in China) and kernel is available soon enough, it could be pretty interesting alternative...

CM is slowly becoming the os for developing countries. Most roms no longer even use their source for anything.
Also you have to remember you get what you pay for. And every one plus device has had issues. Then add in the fact that they do things that upset people like their sexist ad campaign.
Yes a few roms for it. That comes from people buying the device and brining it up. The main developers for the roms never own them themselves.
You have to remember. Developers don't really care about the price of the device. If it is worth it they will pay for it. I can't blame them. I have paid full price for every device I have ever owned and they were always 700+. Takes a bit of saving. But if it's worth it then it's not a big deal.

In many countries import taxes make a $700 phone cost over $2000, and I heard from a dev in brazil that they can't even import cellphones at all which is why apple had to build a factory to make iphones there or else they couldn't access that market, and is a big one

What is the future of LeEco?

I don't know if you are informed but in the last weeks there were very bad news about this company:
- LeCloud closes on June 30
- Job cuts in India and in the USA
- Former employees have denounced LeEco and they are creating a new company
- CEO & CFO dismissals
- Arrests for industrial espionage
- Sale of land purchased in the USA
- Allegations of misappropriation
- Missed the deal with Vizio
- Closing of the EcoPass service
Well, what about the future of this company?
Who will supports our devices?
Noone knows I think, it's cheap phone with good specs so people buy it. If you worry maybe buy other brands instead. LeEco is like living on the edge now but they still make new phone I think. Don't worry they not shutdown yet.

The situation is worse than you think, trust me.
Seems like they might even not release le max 3 (x850) despite the early image leaks few months ago ?
I heard that they stopped smartphone production.

Not everyone, what we got for stock Eui Marshallow 21S, 23S, 26S everything work fine. If you like flashing there is also many custom Nougat roms to enjoy . Even with new stock Nougat rom, not much change for the device maybe some cosmetics stuff, looks etc which not really matter for me.
If I like update/new rom I will buy Xiaomi or Google phone not LeEco.

For every company, update their smartphones is an obligation (security patch and so on) and a demonstration of seriousness. I'm using the Resurrection Remix on my Le Max 2 and Nougat custom ROMs are incomplete just because LeEco still doesn't release Nougat officially.

Please, don't make philosophy in a tech forum. Nougat is a too much important upgrade (especially for big smartphones) to be ignored. Why are you defending this company so much? These are the facts and they are not good.

ok, to lift your confusion: the "developer" in "xdadevelopers" stands for "developer" - so yes, if you just want to complain about the leeco company policies, you're definitly in the wrong place

It's so difficult to just talk about the situation without polemicize or "fanboying"?
You're being obnoxious... People aren't buying this phone because of the LeEco brand, they're buying the Le Max 2 because it's a $196 phone with unbeatable specs for the price. There's no brand loyalty involved, it could've been from any other random Chinese brand for all I care. TBH, you have to be pretty ****ing stupid to expect any kind of support, either from the online Chinese stores that sell this phone to you at heavily discounted prices, or LeEco, a brand that I never heard of until recently. I already knew that their smartphone division was failing, so as people have been telling you... we bought this phone because of the specs and decent XDA support, I never expected LeEco to provide updates, matter of fact, some of the Le Max 2 variants ship with stock ROMs that have no update function like the American X829 variant.

Anyone wanna trade my poco f1 for another unlocked phone?

Hello All,

I am looking to swap my Poco F1(bought in April of this year) due to the incompatibility around military installations in the US (Service members are also discouraged to carry a Chinese phone around base). This phone will not work on CDMA networks and even a couple GSM bands are missing. Unless you are in major coastal city in the US, I discourage you trading this phone for what you have. This phone works well in LA and San Diego region, which is where I was prior to PCSing.

This is a wonderful phone without a single scratch. It comes with a screen protector that covers the entire screen (+an extra one as you can see in the picture). The phone is the snappiest and smoothest phone I've ever touched. Everything is included that was originally in the box.

I prefer a Samsung or LG. No Chinese phones please, unless they are an official US version. Please be from the US to trade.

Question Is this phone good for modding?

Hi there, I'm new here and I've just bought the phone from amazon, it will arrive in a week, unfortunately i've changed the phone recently due to a strange brick to my OP8T, when I've asked for assistance they asked me to return the phone and they gave me back the money and not give me a new one because of out of stock, because I've passed a month without a phone i was desperate and I was still looking for a OP phone equivalent to 8T and less than 500€
I've chosen this phone because it's a bit more modding supported than other phones, but I was looking for a good and smooth rom and also a kernel or a mod that gives better battery backup but there's nothing, is there a way to flash something like that that is not for this phone compatible to that (?)
Tysm in advice and sorry for my bad english by the way.
Look at telegram group of nord 2 you can find some roms there
Modding a OnePlus Nord 2 is a direct disaster. I've never had a phone with so much trouble. Disaster really is the right word. It is no-way comparable to any other OnePlus device. This one is a pain in the *ss.
