Question Debloat Nord 2, w/ and w/o GApps: any list of apps is safe to remove/disable? - OnePlus Nord 2 5G

Hi there.
Yesterday I received Nord 2 and I'd like to debloat it from non-useful software using ADB. Any of you could attach a list of apps is it safe to remove (or just disable) as it was for Nord 1? I tried to compare some system apps to those of that thread but they are not the same... thanks!

[GUIDE/ADB] OPPO FIND X System Apps Safe To Uninstall/Disable Without Root

THIS TUTORIAL IS GEARED TOWARDS THOSE THAT HAVE THE VERSION OF THE PHONE WITH CHINESE FIRMWARE,MAY BE USED AS A GENERAL GUIDE FOR OTHER VERSIONS.
The subject of app/bloatware removal/disabling has been mentioned in a few threads throughout the Oppo Find X forum,so,I thought I'd start a thread to centralize the topic.
As w/any mods go,this is one that's fairly harmless, worse case scenario,a factory reset will get you back on track, but, ultimately everyone is responsible for their own phone & what happens to it.
With that out of the way..............
1) Any app that can be easily uninstalled by the "uninstall" button is 100% safe,no harm whatsoever. If you want,d/l an apk extractor tool app to make a copy & store wherever, should you change your mind.
2) Now,most are interested in getting rid of as many of the OPPO system apps as possible w/o crippling wanted functionality. This will be an evolving list,& gradually adding to it,with input from anyone interested,I'll update the list right here.
3) OK,the How-To is right here https://www.xda-developers.com/uninstall-carrier-oem-bloatware-without-root-access/
4) Any input regarding adding to the list is encouraged.
If you have something to add to the list that you're tried out yourself, please include any effects on functionality that may have resulted, especially if it affected other apps & their functionality, good, bad,or otherwise.
5) Once again, tried & tested input is highly encouraged & welcome. I'm open to suggestions on trying out app removal that ventures into uncharted territory, however, depending on what it is & how/when I'm using my phone,it might be a few days before I'm free for Guinea Pig duty.....
6) Touching on point #5,if,for whatever reason, one is in no position to go into uncharted waters w/this,that's fine,I just recommend waiting a few days after the apps that you're interested in removing 1st,check the list & dates below. No one wants a borked phone that needs reset at an inoppportune time to get things restored to useability.
I myself won't be able to test every day,I get it,so,if you can't test things for yourself & share here, that is perfectly OK,JUST HANG IN THERE UNTIL THE SAFE LIST IS STABLE FOR A FEW DAYS BEFORE PROCEEDING.
The list will grow & evolve/be edited on a continuous basis until we all get it figured out. :good:
KUDOS to @justinswidebody for stepping up as a community leader & testing the apps that have risks/etc... that may warrant a reset/starting over, your efforts are to be commended by all who reap the rewards of your contributions,I can't thank you enough. :good:
A couple points worth repeating, from the link & instructions :
******** A factory reset will restore all uninstalled apps.
******** OTA's shouldn't be affected or affect the status of apps, whether they're installed or uninstalled (unless,of course, you've deleted something pertaining to updates, which won't be listed below)
FYI: The dates reflect the time of posting/removal,for ease of troubleshooting,in the event something noteworthy gets broken,it gives a good reference where to begin looking for the problem/solution.

Guessing it has something to do with Phone Manager & Security apps, but,I'm not quite comfortable removing either ATM,until I can take a look around @ other Oppo Devices running a recent version of Color OS & get a better idea of the effects of removing either.
In the meantime,just another alternative:
You can side-load apps/.apks via Bluetooth sharing from another device without issue.
Thanks a lot for the Guide! I really wanna get rid of the launcher....
Therefore, beginner question:
If I run the adb devices command (inside the platform-tools folder) it shows no device in the list.
I enabled USB Debugging on the phone.
Is it necessary to manually install the driver for the phone to make adb work?
I found a driver here (mobileheadlines.net/) but I am not sure if this website is trustworthy.
Thanks for your help.
BTW: I think your link to the make adb run is not working properly. At least i get an 403 error message. Is this the how to you wanted to refer to?

THX for the heads-up on the link,it's fixed now. :good:
The drivers should install themselves, but, before you do that, you have to enable Developer Options & once there, you'll need to toggle-on USB Debugging.
This tutorial for Dev Options/USB De-Bugging is for other OPPO devices, but,is applicable here:
https://www.syncios.com/android/how-to-debug-oppo-f1.html
Once you do the above,plug-in to your PC & the drivers will automatically install.
Then pull down on the notification bar,tap on the USB Debugging notification, select Transfer files.
Also, the 1st time you connect/use USB Debugging, you'll see a pop-up window asking for permission, allow it. If you don't see it,disconnect from the PC,re-connect,select File Transfer & keep the phone unlocked, until you see the permission pop-up. I recommend selecting "Always" so,you don't have to bother w/it again.
Check this video out,it covers most of the steps:

just to add correction if you dont mind..the package is com.oppo.oppopowermonitor
I've just removed
com.coloros.healthcheck
com.coloros.appmanager
com.mobiletools.systemhelper
Don't see anything bad happening from what I can tell.
Also removed
com.coloros.securitypermission
However this removed the ability to change any permissions.
One of these that I removed allowed me to use mobile data for Showbox. I wasn't able to watch any Showbox stuff on mobile data before removing these

Yes,I am,using Textra & removed the stock messaging app, still getting the pop-up,but,messaging does work.
I suspect the banner is tied to the Privacy Permissions app (com.coloros.securitypermission) Don't remove this, breaks permission management.
@justinswidebody
If you haven't performed a factory reset, can you test a 3rd party SMS/MMS app & see if the OPPO ID Prompt still pops-up?
THX again. :good:
EDIT: @yakuzlin
The Privacy Permissions app (com.coloros.securitypermission) is not tied to the banner pop-up,see the following post.......
I installed Textra, but I still have the default messaging app so I can't set it as default. But when I send a text it sent fine , when I receive a text it puts up a hint pop up message that the default messaging app is used for security reasons.

Unfortunately nowadays, many OEMs (including Motorola/Lenovo) do not include a useful file management app on many of their low to mid range smartphones, leaving file managers and file browsers some of the most downloaded apps on the Google Play Store. This is a simple yet comprehensive file manager app taken from a Lenovo tablet which is compatible with most Motorola smartphones, including the Moto E5 series. Also included, for those members who miss the Gallery from earlier Android versions, is a standard Moto Gallery App. Simply download the APKs from the below link, enable Unknown Sources under Settings>>Security, and install on your device. Grant the appropriate permissions when prompted and it's ready to go. Also, these apps will work irregardless of whether your device is rooted or modified.

I have some of these files. But I am new to XDA so it's going to take me a little while to get settled on here and begin posting threads. Mainly, I own Motorola devices (Moto X4, Moto E5, Moto E4, Moto G4, etc.) and I have amassed a decent collection of firmwares and ROMs which I will share as soon as I get established on here.
Here's a version of Moto Gallery that's modified to fit in: https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-z-play/themes/moto-gallery-motorolas-design-language-t3627008
Moto File Manager is available in the play store, but MiXplorer is another good option.
Right kinda scary to do that don't want to **** up another phone

Moment Feature(Game Space)

There are files related to moment feature when I checked over its files using a editor..Yet there's no option in game space app...
Will it be possible for me to enable that feature before OnePlus announce it officially?
I think all al the files are present which can enable new moment feature according to my observation.
I'm using a OnePlus 7T Pro...
Don't mind I'm just a beginner:fingers-crossed:

List of Removable Bloatware on Samsung Galaxy S7

Hi. I posted this in the Gerneral Q&A forum (here), which apparently doesn't seem like the right place to post that in.
Here it is:
Hi. I'm looking for a list of all the apps I can uninstall (or disable if necessary) for the device to keep working (and for the Settings app to still work). I did reset my device a few times after a DeadObjectException error and the Settings app not responding. Before reseting, I noted which apps I installed myself and retrieved my text message backup file (the contacts are there and also in my SIM card). Everything else is either backed up (e.g. Pocket Frogs data) or the data doesn't have to be kept (like clearing app data).
Please list apps as the package name (e.g. Pocket Frogs's package name is com.nimblebit.pocketfrogs), so I can quickly find and uninstall/disable them without choosing the wrong one by mistake.
Note: My samsung galaxy s7 is model g930t (I don't know if that has any affect) with my carrier as tmobile.
Click to collapse
Correction: Listing the package name (e.g. google play services) is ok, but the file name (e.g. com.google.andoird.gms) is preferred. I changed to using APKSharp, developed by a fellow XDA member, which does display both name variations.
I currently have nothing on the device (stuff is either backed up/saved or deleted), so resetting is ok, though not preferred. I did check out other methods, but my device isn't supported for most of them. (It's the same samsung galaxy s7 G930T model with tmobile as the carrier.)
Note: A partial list is ok; I just want to get started somewhere without hitting errors and issues like "Settings keeps stopping".
Note 2: Stuff I don't use: samsung stuff, google stuff, bluetooth, nfc, dictionary, all game-related "tools", car mode, tv conenction, radio, voicemail, news/briefing, most tmobile stuff (excluding SIM card-related stuff), etc.

Ah, thanks. I've been looking for something like that for days... Also just found one here. Both, unfortunately, isn't specifically for an S7, but at least I can follow most of it.
Additional guides/threads: Galaxy S9 Plus and Galaxy S8. Also found one for S7 (and a script, too), but I'll have to verify it works with m device.
I guess my main issue is what do I need to keep for the device to function properly while removing bloatware via ADB or APKSpark (ADB-based I assume).
No idea why I couldn't find the lists before. Maybe I was looking in the "wrong" place.

Question How to make the best of an unlockable_unrootable Verizon US variant?

I recently upgraded to the S23 Ultra and discovered that there's no option to unlock the bootloader. The root functions I value most are:
A firewall that will block apps from phoning home and/or accessing the internet without using the Android vpn (not sure if I could do that even if rooted...I just want to block apps from phoning home and use a vpn at the same time))
A call recorder (currently using Cube ACR, which actually works pretty good)
A way to 'image' the entire phone (i.e., like TWRP back up/restore)
A way to uninstall the bloatware that doesn't have an uninstall function.
Barring some method that will unlock the bootloader on this phone, what are methods/apps that will help me get as close to a rooted state as possible?
Well your first point is solved with what I use for privacy and adblocking. NextDNS (free option or $12/yr) you get a private DNS server and you control what is blocked and what isn't with all the customization you want. As for call recording, I've used skvalex (free with paid pro option but pro only adds automatic backup) for years whether rooted or not and it always works just fine. Though I will admit when it's connected to my car with Bluetooth it only records my side but I rarely talk while in the car so not a deal breaker for me. Thirdly, you could use adb to make a backup (from what I've read) but I use shizuku to give swift backup more permissions and it backups everything for me.
Thanks for your comments, spart0n.
I looked over NextDNS. It seems to have a lot of features. I do use my vpn's DNS, but they're various US servers are slow, plus NextDNS seems to have more features.
One thing I'm not clear on is can it slectively block apps from connecting to the internet, both on mobile /and/or wifi connection, much like a firewall?
I also did a quick perusal of skvalex, but I'm not sure how it's different from Cube ACR? One concern with cube is security...are they doing nefarious things with my data.
Cube also won't record the other side of a conversation when I'm using a bluetooth device (earbuds, car).
Is skvalex ' more respecting of privcy? In what ways do you deem it superior to other options such as Cube?
I'll be looking into Shizku and Swift backup, but am I correct in that it seems to be more of a 'Titanium' type app than a complete phone backup?
I really appreciate the pointers.

I've tried cube in the past and it had a lot of denied connections in the background but over the years skvalex has worked perfectly even if I completely block all internet connectivity even from the start of installation except for checking for pro version.
As for NextDNS it does work on wifi and cellular. Personally I pay for the pro and have it setup on my home router plus all my phones too

The problem I've seen with Cube is that it sometimes randomly ends a recording before the call is finished.

They do get uninstalled, but they remain inside the recovery partition so that when you reset the device they get reinstalled. You can disable or uninstall from Android any system app, even breaking the system, but the app will not get deleted from recovery unless you flash twrp or another custom recovery which deletes the stock recovery

Those are okay but dated guides for bloatware removal. There's 2 easy ways right now. One open source and not as feature rich and then there's a free/pro app that has more features.
Open source is universal android debloater gui (unless you want command line) from GitHub really easy to find with Google.
Or adb app control from cybercat. He's very active in his telegram support group and helpful

Rereading, I can see I wasn't clear at all. I should have specified 'for backup'. I'm doing a bit of searching for something now and this week. I doubt I can image the entire phone, but I'm hoping to find as complete and 'nandroid-like' backup solution as I can. If you know of anything, I'd appreciate it. Or maybe my best bet actually is ABD and commandline.

Honestly I don't know any good ones, I use swift backup with shizuku. That's all I really know of. It works like titanium backup did but without root, even with shizuku, is somewhat limited.
adb pull /sdcard will get your files
Sometimes adb pull will fail on a specific file or folder and just puke on itself and refuse to continue. If that happens, you just have to delete the file/folder and try again. I've only had this happen once though.
Swift Backup with shizuku will back up apps and their downloaded data but not user data. Pair it with Google Backup and Google will restore *some* app data... Realistically though, you'll be losing some or a lot of app data, depending on app policies.
Thanks for your responses. Regrettably, there's no option in Dev options to unlock the boot-loader., so I'm stuck with whatever is available. Now I know. I should have either switched carriers or bought an unlocked phone, which I think comes with its own caveats.
User data, photos and such isn't too much of an issue here. My client data from apps is backed up to PC regularly, as are any photos I want to keep etc.
I like Nandroid backups because they backup everything including texts, call logs and OS (nice in case something happens and the OS bites the dust or gets crippled).
The real issue is my texts and call logs, moreso the texts..
How reliable is Swift (which is looking more and more attractive) compared to ABD, and can ABD back up more?
Also, side note, but my late wife's phone is an S7. I lost a previous phone and ergo my texts, so the texts on her phone are all I have of our texts over the years.
I was thinking I'd use Smart Switch or something to transfer the texts from her phone over to the S10 I just upgraded from. Is that practical?
I appreciate your remarks. Thanks!

As for bootloader unlocking anything Samsung, you can't buy the north America models, any other country model will have the option for unlocking. As for swift vs adb without root? Swift does call logs and text backups locally on the device and on several cloud services of your choice if you wish.

Thanks, sprt0n. I'll give Swift a try, along with Shizuku. Regarding the old S7 texts...do you recommend Swift there as well? WIll there be an issue transfering texts between the s7 and s10 given their age? S10 is Android 12, S7 is Android 8.

You can try it says on the Google Play store listing page that supports Android 6 and up so it should work
I'll do that, Thx.
Y'all have given me direction regarding uninstalling apps and back up, and even firewalling, if NextDNS allows.
I may be back for future questions after I research this stuff. I appreciate all your comments, particularly spart0n.
