Question Un-bricking my Nord N200 - OnePlus Nord N200 5G

Don't ask me why, but I tried to upload a GSI using fastboot to my N200. And that didn't work. So I then read online about other people getting the same error I had, and their fix was deleting the "product" partition and erasing the system partition
Now my phone is stuck in fastboot and won't boot from an image, take a recovery image, etc. etc. it's kinda completely messed up and it's my fault for trying to tinker with commandline tools.
The problem is there is no MSM recovery for my phone, and even if there was virtualbox can't detect my phone's USB(I've already tried with just the nord MSM, I run linux and I was using a win10 VM)
Is there any hope? Do I have to go to a repair shop?

First post has a section specifically about the drivers you'll need to have your phone recognized in fastboot mode:
The Quest for a Bootloader Unlock (partial guide, T-Mobile variant, may work for MetroPCS/Metro variant)
OK, this process has been hell, but I'm gonna try and consolidate everything I've worked out so far in one place. This all applies only to the T-Mobile variant (ie. it comes preloaded with all the T-Mobile bloatware) of the N200 on the T-Mobile...

That said, I'm pretty sure you're stuck until the MSM tool comes out (the MSM tool is different for each phone, DO NOT use one for a different OnePlus phone) to fix it yourself.

Ah. Sadly, I have next to no experience with Linux outside of the tinkering I've done on my Raspberry Pis, so can't help you there.

My experience with USB passthrough on different hypervisors is that they all suck. I have to use Windows at work, so I use it for most of the tools including MSM tools.
That being said, I've never seen a real difference in adb / fastboot on Linux or Windows.
Have you tried calling OnePlus by chance?

No, but there is a 100% chance that they'll just tell me to use their repair program. Which I'll be surprised if it's under $100 for me to mail it in, have some dude spend 5 minutes flashing it, and then mail it back

Hey there, so I managed to get a hold of the MSM tools this morning. Since I have to go out soon, I'll upload them later. Once I upload them, you should be able to unbrick your phone.

Excellent! This will be of so much help to many folks out here who have bricked their phones. Look forward to your sharing the tool.
Is the MSMDownload tool, that you got, for the Tmobile version or the unlocked version/retail or both?

It's for the T-Mobile version. Someone with a retail N200 will have to request a "remote session" with OP support in order to get the MSM tools for the retail version.

@lzgmc, thanks.
How does this "remote session" with OP work? Does one report that the phone is bricked, and then they send you the tool which you execute? Or do they run the tool in real time using a remote desktop tool, but then one has to somehow capture their MSMDownlod tool using some other tool? Do they not try to delete the downloaded tool?
If you could share your detailed experience of this "remote session", and how to capture the MSMDownload tool, it would be of tremendous help. I don't own a retail/unlocked N200, but your experience can perhaps help those who have one, in getting the MSMDownload tool for the retail version. It would benefit the Tmobile users too, in finding a way to potentially convert Tmobile version to retail version. Thanks!

That is a pity. The MSMDownload Tool seems to be the only way to fix this.
The good news is that the MSMDownload Tool is now available with Oneplus support, as of today e.g. until last week, folks out here posted that Oneplus support did not have the tool released to them. Perhaps you can contact Oneplus support and request a "remote session" to unbrick it similar to what @lzgmc did, and get your phone un-bricked sooner? If you do so, try to grab a copy of the MSMDownload Tool that they use in the session and share it with others out here. I am sure @lzgmc will post it soon, but no harm in having multiple copies available.

@lzgmc Do you happen to recall which version of Oxygen OS the MSMDownlod tool is for? 11.0.1.4 or 11.0.1.5?

LG Rebel 3 Tracfone; Fastboot, root, and Lineage OS

I am currently trying to root my LG Rebel 3 [L158VL] (Android 7.0)
I've been reading all around and I've installed ADB and Fastboot on my system (Windows 10 Pro 64-bit) however I have not been able to enter fastboot on my phone. If anyone could help me out and walk me through this. I've also been looking into using Lineage OS but they don't seem to support my device (not surprising as it's a Tracfone from Wal-Mart) and I was wondering if there was a version I could use on my phone, I'd appreciate if anyone could help me with that. However, I mostly need help with fastboot.
Any help or advice you can provide will be great, thank you in advanced

UPDATE: 11/29/2018 8:34PM
I have tried several other methods but my phone absolutely refuses to boot into fastboot or the bootloader. It's like it's locked and I would like to know if there is a way to unlock/allow my device to boot into what I want it to.
Wasting your time
Tracfone has removed the fastboot and download modes. You still have EDL mode. Adb reboot EDL. However youd still have to unlock the bootloader or have some kind of patched system.img in order to avoid a brick. I cant recall the thread but it did mention the possibility of changing the partition table amd flashing a .laf which is your download mode/bootloader/fastboot.
I also read somewhere where it might be possible to flash using python but that may have been in the files that were from the CIAhttps://github.com/troydo42/CIA-Hacking-Tools mobile security exploits. Tracfone is verizon based so if you could manage to flash it somehow then you should be able to load a verizon rom. Please anyone feel free to expand or correct me.

I think I might remember the thread your're talking about. it required that you used a patched version of lg up that unlocks the dev features and let's you flash the partitions in any order you want. I believe lg up requires the phone to be in download mode but I can't say for sure
Is there away to self root the LG rebel 3?
I want to self root it so I don't have to use my work computer to do so

lg k8+ unlocked x210ulmg

Looking to start a discussion on rooting the unlocked version.
I have tried the root for other variants for this phone and does not work
hi would love to see my k8+ rooted. i have the lmx210ulma version mtk and android 7.1.2.
There are recoveries for this phone and i have a full partition dump i nade today using salt on my ubuntu 18.04 machine. when i say full i mean something like 30-50 .img files pulled.
Any way. The problem on my end is booting into fastboot mode or rebooting to the bootloader. i have tried ADB, recovery and key combinations with out ever getting there. I can however get the phone to download into recovery download mode just fine.
any help would be appreciated

We are now in this forum. Why some dork mod moves these too early?
Why here, why not to the K8 forums instead?
The link I posted should work with your device...
Just got told to go to the k8 forums because im really just trying to get the bootloader unlocked. Temp root is nice but my plans involve a recovery and a fully rooted phone. Im trhing to develop a way to compile apps and operating systems completely on the device but i need full access.
Im looking for firmware for LG K8 2018 X210ULMG. Where can i find it ?
go to google and type in "LG K8 + LMX210ULM stock rom" you will get at least five pages or more.

I can't fin anywhere for X210ULMG. Try and when you will find paste here link because anywhere is this rom.
which android version do y0u have 9n your k8. I also need you to go to settings system software info and tell me the software versiion. And just for SandG no seriously, open up a terminal in terminal emulator and type getprop. im looking fir the value of
ro.lge.swversion_arb
to be of further assistance may i ask what exactly you are using it for? ie reflash stock fix brick or other. i can help you with the best plan of action and any other how to.
If you are still out there the ULMG and ULM are the same device. There is no ULMG stock rom. So you will need to flash your K8+ using the ULM firmware. If you are looking to roll back to get to the bootloader the lowest version you can find is a letter F version. None so far have an ARB value so happy flashing.
I myself own this device and its an easily rootable phone with bootloader unlock. Just flash the kdz with the lowest letter value then adb reboot bootloader and then in fastboot mode use fastboot oem unlock and your free to flash any cv1 device twrp recovery.img to the phone.
Just make sure to use either carliv image kitchen or android image studio to check and make sure that system, syatem.img, are both ext4 in recovery.fstab. System.img will probably be labled emmc which will cause failure to mount. Also cache and data as well. Firmware/modem should be labled as vfat. Just as if they were labled if you looked at original fstab.
To root just extract boot.img from kdz and patch using magisk and flash using fastboot flash boot boit.img then fastboot flash recovery recovery.img When booting into twrp first time flash no verity opt encrypt and make backup. Upon exiting make sure all parts are mounted or twrp loop will occur.

I have problem because one month ago I flashed My K8 ULMG with kdz for Aristo 2 . I downloaded the software from Aristo 2 and made Brick through it.
Now it doesn't turn on, gives no sign of life, nothing. When connected to a laptop, the computer can only see Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008.
Do you know solution for it ?
There are two versions of the k8+ a qualcomm version and an mtk version. Did you read my post after your last reply. I was trying to help you determine that sort 0f thing.
As for a fix.... no as of currently there is no fix for either the qc or mtk versions once bricked. i am working on possible solutions but those are not going to be any time soon.
Your best bet at this point is to look for a used and damaged phone and replace the board in your phone with a different board. Find a k8+ lm-x210ulm or an aristo 2 board. They are cheap around $20 us and can be found with broken screens. They have no arb values so can be flashed and downgraded to get the boot loader unlocked and reflashed and upgraded after with guidance.
Dont feel to bad it happens. I have 4 boards that are trash but im still gonna try to unbrick them. But please what ever you do dont do it with out guidance. pm if you need and ill help.

Did you found some method for unbrick this phone without motherboard change ?

Question Is there an MSM tool for N200?

I bricked my phone by flashing a patched boot image from 11.0.2 to a phone with 11.0.0 and I can't get to fastboot mode - etc. I think MSM is my only way back?
I got it to fastboot mode, but there's no boot image for 11.0.0 available, right? Please help
Is it T-Mobile version or unlocked?
There's MSM tool for T-Mobile version and you can download full ROM for unlocked
If yours is unlocked and you can access recovery, use sideload
Code:
adb sideload
Press spacebar once and drag and drop the ROM onto command window and press enter
This can fix boot as well as making version update

If you use the "+ Quote" button, rather than the reply button, it'll create a multiquote, letting you quote and reply to multiple posts all at once (it'll add a "insert quotes" button to the reply box). This eliminates double-posts, which most forums frown upon.

I am familiar with this from Moto, and some previous manual flashes with my OEM OP5. However, after extracting the partition .imgs from the OOS OTA via this tool when I try to `fastboot flash logo logo.img` (among others), I get hit with `FAILED remote: flashing is not allowed for critical partitions`, even after having unlocked with `fastboot flashing unlock_critical`. How were you able to get everything to work?
I also tried flashing the OTA zip via the TWRP, but it seems like the current dev version of TWRP in that thread is completely borked for N200 as far as ROM flashing goes ://

OP N10 5G / TMO / BE2025.BE88CB / 11.0.2.BE88CB = Rooting impossible?

There's no way to root this a phone with the following, is there?
OP N10 5G / TMO / BE2025.BE88CB / 11.0.2.BE88CB
- Bootloader unlocked.
- Not rooted.
Seems to me there's no MSM tool for the BE88CB (TMO) variant, no TWRP, and no flashed boot images available.
Do I have this right? Rooting is impossible?
How much of a loss do you want to risk? (I think a refurb is ~$250 now for an international).
I'd try the TWRP for the international one, and you can flash Magisk directly from that (rename .apk to .zip); I've never needed the boot images.
If that doesn't work, I think you can MSM the ENTIRE international recovery image over it... even if you lose some of the T-mo bands (m-wave?) it is still pretty quick (mine is a international phone, on Tmo, 5G works great for me).
If the bootloader is unlocked, you should be in good shape.
YMMV, no refunds, at your own risk, etc. I have gotten braver in my old age, though.
I've been through this thread: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...bile-metro-w-locked-bootloader.4297501/page-5
But both links to MSM the TMO to GLO are dead, so the MSM is currently not available.
The TWRP for the international... I'll happily try that, do you know where it is? I've tried booting to 3.5.2_10-1 and it boots but the touchscreen doesn't work via `fastboot boot` (not `fastboot flash boot` ) which can be found here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/twrp-3-5-2_10-billie-twrp-for-oneplus-nord-n10-5g-beta.4256333/

Rooting is impossible?

nah man you can actually unlock the bootloader without tmo carrier unlock and root...see my guide to do that, its as straight forward as any other oneplus, but basically you have to request the bootloader unlock code from oneplus, then assuming your carrier unlocked or use the guide to break the carrier lock functionality. If your already at that point grab the boot image for your version, store on device, root that image with magisk manager then flash it in bootloader

you can install the global rom on both lito(metro) or billie. With or without locking the bootloader. that same process will unbrick the device as well, ive done it several times. if for some reason msm and the global rom disappeared, I do have it.

Here's one not rooted. Came from a restore package on telegram, you might check it out...it's 11.02 or 10.5.12 for restore .no msm needed...worked for me with fastboot.
##copy/pasted from telegram, I did NOT make these, just helping people save time.....oh if your on Linux run dos2unix on the bat file, you'll also have to change reboot-bootloader to reboot bootloader and set-active-slot becomes set_active a/b
**********************
I've put together two bundles to restore the OnePlus Nord N10 5G to Factory OS without the need for MSM Download Tool. One for OOS10 and one for OOS11.
Simply boot into the bootloader (Fastboot mode) and run the script! ("OnePlusNordN10_Restore.bat") (Roughly 5 minute duration to restore, give or take)
Note that all custom ROMs currently available require you to be on OOS10 in order to boot successfully. We hope to change this soon, but this is how it is for now until OnePlus properly re-syncs their Android 11 Kernel.
These are for the International variants only! If you require the European firmware, you will have to extract it's OTA payload and replace the appropriate files.

Here, try this one.I just used it not even 10 minutes ago to make a full LUNS back up of a V60 I have laying on my desk.I'm actually using LUNS backups to crossflash other carrier V60's with AT&T software so the VoLTE works.
Edit:Oh,make sure you choose flat build. Then choose this firehose.

this was certainly an interesting experience, i could unlock the bootloader, but doing it via the file thing provided it won't work, going to fastboot and doing fastboot oem unlock, then booting into a twrp recovery and flashing magisk v24.3, it bricked the OS and i had to fight to get it to boot, twrp broke and is locked it refuses to unlock, it gave me an odd looking recovery mode as if it was from android kitkat or something (thats the best i can describe it, it looked much different from the other recovery to wipe) and it said it couldn't boot android and it said to factory reset, so i did.. it downgraded me to android 11 and now its rooted but i can't update to android 12 now because of it being rooted? is there a way to update to 12 now?

Afraid not because OTA updates will look for rooted or bootloader unlocked devices and will normally give you a white screen error code.Nature of the beast I guess you could say.If you don't plan on doing a custom rom or trying to remove OEM software it's not really worth it honestly.

Ahh okay. Thanks though! Do you know why it would have downgraded from 12 to 11 though? that doesn't really make any sense to me.. why did rooting downgrade without me installing an older system or anything like that?

Think about it this way, a V60 with a broken screen is less than 100 bucks. If you brick it, you can fix it for far less than bricking any other phone in a similar class.

Now,that's an odd one.My thoughts would be because of the engineering bootloader that's written for unlocking purposes? Are you sure it was A12 to begin with?lol..

And this is very true! The V60 was way ahead of it's time! It's a shame LG devices were never marketed properly and supported on a local retail level like they should have been. And even if you did brick them, worst thing would be peeling the back off and hitting the testpoint to bring it back to life.

Yes! I was so excited that i got 12 on it, the bootloader shows its android 12 though.. which is really confusing to me.. is there any chance there's an android 12 kdz for this phone floating around that i could try to root and flash? i'm kind of regretting it now, i can't get the fingerprint scanner working following the tutorial there.. i can't update to 12 again it just fails to download, my recovery mode is gone, i can't get back into the bootloader/fastboot mode only EDL mode but it won't recognize anything within windows, adb won't work nor fastboot, can i recover it still if i wish to go back to stock?
The good news is, it gets much better benchmark scores and is much much faster..
on geekbench, 1688 single core, 6203 multicore, it had a higher score but said it was invalid? that one was 4067 single core, 15601 multicore
antutu, it scored 695755 with just using kernel auditor and maxing out the cpu freq and setting gpu freq to 870mhz.
Edit: I just remembered, for where you mentioned the bootloader, i don't have the engineering one installed. i never got that far to even install it. just android debugging > oem unlock > fastboot > fastboot oem unlock

That depends on what model of V60 you have? Most of the kdz files for Verizon or T-Mobile can be found at the link below.AT&T or Sprint no kdz's to be found except back up Qfil copies I have found.Take a look, and LGUP it if you find the firmware you want. Most will be A11 and you can just OTA back to A12 with no problem.

If you refurb it with LGUP it will wipe it all.The T-Mobile model has A12,but no physical kdz as of yet. So,you'll have to OTA back to A12 once you set it all back up.

Yes,that wil work until the next update. If it's modified when the next OTA hits,it will give you the update error.Basically, you just set it back stock and the update works. But,glad you have it worked out.
