This phone, updated, has double tap to wake? - Samsung Galaxy A21s Questions & Answers

Allegedly One UI Core doesn't have it, but some One UI Core devices have it.

Being able to double tap on/off is great. I never use screen lock.
I been using the apk Double Tap on my 10+, it has a lot of customization.
Works perfectly, zero issues, pretty much zero battery drain.
One of my favorite apps.

[Q] Feature is delaying all system (Magnification Screen)

Not long ago, I discovered the Screen Magnification feature (Only on Android 4.2.2) and it solved all my problems.
But now I found a new problem: Enabling this feature causes a general delay effect throughout the rest of the system, especially in apps like caller and calculator. In general, applications that have a keyboard further demonstrate this delay even more, but you can feel that something is wrong all over the usage.
The cause is simple: To enable the Magnification you need to triple tap the screen, so when you tap for the first time, the system is still waiting for the other two taps before making something. The solution? I do not know, but the Apple devices solved this by activating the feature with a three fingers double tap, that is a unique gesture instead of a single finger gesture.
The question is: I detected a problem and I suppose I know how to solve. Now, to whom do I report this experience? I do not think Google is going to worry about it because they are always leaving aside any accessibility features. It would be nice if I could get in touch with any developer who wants to improve the Android usage. Can you ajduar?

Quick Circle case and Nova Launcher?

Does anyone know if the quick Circle case works with Nova Launcher?! Or do you need to be on the stock launcher to use it effectively? I know Nova doesn't have double tap to wake / sleep so that seems like it could cause issues. It's not a big deal for me because the stock launcher doesn't seem so bad compared to what I've used in the past... I just wanna know because I love me some Nova launcher and if I can still use it with all the benefits LG threw in that'll be nice!
I'm using both.
Double tap to wake works fine, doesn't work to tap off. I was worried about it until I remembered that just shutting the case would kill the screen.. Otherwise I let the screen time out when it's laying on my desk at work.
There are workarounds to get double tap to sleep working though.
You won't get access to the LG only widgets however, unless that's been figured out..

Double tap to sleep also works on Nova if you Double tap on the notification bar...
You can also download tap to sleep off the play store, then on Nova under setting set the double tap gesture and set the tap to sleep app as the action. And it works just like stock now.

My tap to sleep works just fine with Nova. I believe a setting in G3 TweaksBox allowed it to work... That or it just works lol not sure I'm still playing with this thing and figuring it out

Nova also makes the rom have 2 settings. The one in the app drawer is in list view and the one in the pull down shade is tabbed view. If you look at the icons under recents the icons are different. Any ideas?

How to enable double tap to turn screen off on Nova Launcher

One of my favorite features on the stock G3 Launcher in the double tap to turn the screen off function. Unfortunately my daily launcher, Nova Launcher Prime, does not come with the double tap to put screen to sleep without a slight modification. I was in touch with the app developer and he recommended a way to get this function to work with Nova.
Download Screen Off and Lock from Google Play
After you installed the app go to Settings>Security>Phone Administrators and turn on Screen Off and Lock
Next go to Nova settings>Gestures and Buttons>Double Tap
In this setting scroll to "Apps" then Screen Off and Lock
Done!
I use Nova Prime as well. I've been able to double tap screen off by double tapping the status bar without having to use a 3rd party app.

Been trying to figure this out for a while...thanks!
Omg I love you so much. I got it working with TSF Launcher xD. Root just a few days ago and now this. My life is complete. I even got the g3 tweaksbox. Whoop whoop!
Thanks for this, I've been running Nova since day 1 of owning the G3 and never knew about the double tap to turn screen off for stock launcher.....should have played with it more prior.
This app works some times, some times it doesn't. Sort of random, yet not sure why it doesn't at times.
You can also double tap the top of the screen in nova. It will work
If you have tasker already you don't need to get a new app for this to work.
Greenify works better for this imo. I tried this app and found I already have greenify to keep certain apps asleep so no need for another app and I dont have to tap the status bar. I just set nova double tap as that greenify shortcut and profit.
Thanks alot for this. I sometimes hide the status bar so this is very useful.
You'll need Greenify to make this work.
Nova Settings > Gestures and Buttons > Double Tap > Hibernate + Lock Screen
Now you just double tap your screen while on to turn the screen off.
This also works in Apex, and Solo as well. If you are on AOSP, you can also download download Tap Switch for double tap to wake if the kernal supports it. I was playing around on my LGOG and I kept tapping on the screen and realized I wasn't using my G3 lol. I ended up installing Tap Switch and it works great.

Difference in responsiveness of capacitive buttons in different ROMs??

Hi all,
I've tried 3 roms so far: RR, AOSP extended and Mi-Globe. I hear many people say that RR and AOSPext are very smooth, but in my experience there's a big difference regarding smoothness, more specifically the responsiveness of the capacitive buttons. Let me give you an example as to what i mean.
Whenever I tap the back, home or recents buttons on mi-globe rom it does the action (i.e. go back or go home etc) almost instantly without a delay. But on RR and AOSPext it takes like 0,5-1 sec before it does the action. Also when I generally press apps, settings or whatever, the opening animation feels slower than on Mi-globe rom. And I've looked on YouTube reviews of these ROMs to see if it's just me or the ROMs are just like that and I see the same results as I have experienced.
So my question is: does everyone have this? Because it freaks me out that so many people say those 2 roms are smooth while for me or isn't, but maybe I miss something??
Can something be done about this?
Thanks in advance!
Check if you have any action assigned to double tap on back/home; by default, iirc, double tapping does something, so after the single tap system waits a bit to check if that's a single or double tap. if yes, just disable and you're fine
Disable double tap actions for all the buttons

Way to lock screen (unrooted)

So I have a LG G7 One which runs stock Pie. Sadly LG's knock knock features aren't included. Bootloader is locked, so no root options currently. This my first phone that doesn't have a root option. I feel a little limited.
I'm looking for a way to lock my phone without using the power button. Ideally double tap to lock. I've tried a few different options but they all seem to have the same limitation. They force me to use my pin after I lock my phone with them. Something about my phone being locked by admin. I would like to just use my finger print scanner. Is there any workaround for this?
I'd prefer double tap to lock, but I'd settle for a quick settings toggle. Are there any apps that allow this? And would I face the same issue, where it forces me to use my pin afterwards?
I have pixel launcher on my V35. The LG double tap to wake/sleep works but only when I double tap in the notification pull down. Near the top. This is still the LG feature so maybe not good for you. I thought stock Android had the double tap thing tho. Maybe not Android One?
