T-Mobile BE2028 OEM grayed out? - OnePlus Nord N10 5G Questions & Answers

I call T Mobile and they claim my device is already unlocked but when i try to use the unlock feature from phone says failed error 255. Phone been activated for past 40 days on t Mobile network.

255 means you're not applicable for unlocking.
To sim unlock, you've gotta meet the minimum requirements. Once the sim unlock is finished, reboot your phone. It'll ungrey the oem unlock option. Toggle that and then go to OnePlus and get your bootloader unlock token.

Postpaid, 40 days with paid service, device paid off and not under EIP
Prepaid, 150$ worth of refills, One year.
I started a postpaid account and the device instantly became eligible for SIM unlock...
It was purchased outright at a store, I assume the marked it as prepaid.

I need help with network unlocking my HTC Desire 626s (T-Mobile) PLEASE HELP!

I know this is a little off topic, but I just bought this phone on T-Mobile prepaid last night, in hopes to pop in my Consumer Cellular SIM and use it. Well, that was shot down because it said the phone is network locked and it needs to have an unlock code to work on other GSM networks. I called and chatted with T-Mobile and they are refusing to give me the network unlock code until I start a prepaid plan with them, spend at least $100 on refill cards, and then they can "request" an unlock code from the appropriate department.
Does anyone know how to network unlock the device without doing it through T-Mobile? I don't know if I trust those cell unlocker websites for network codes that you have to pay money for.
Any other phone I've purchased, like an AT&T prepaid phone, they never require an unlock code. I also called Consumer Cellular and they don't have network unlock codes.
Gotta pay to play, unfortunately. Just use eBay, where you can see reviews and have some buyer protection. I help unlock phones at my job, and I know that blowfish and swiftunlocks.com have been reliable. HTC unlocks are usually done pretty quickly.

Root, Roms, and Unlock for ZTE Midnight Pro???

I found a ZTE Midnight Pro for Simple Mobile on Ebay for $14.95. The phone seems pretty nice for that price and it came with service for month, but once that month is up...well, I'd love to unlock it and Root it and so on...
MOST of all Unlock. BUT, all the places say I just put in a sim from someone else and the box should open right up for me to input the Code...Nuh uh.
What happens is this:
Network Lock!
This device can be remotely unlocked if eligible. Please use the Device Unlock application to unlock the device. Make sure the device has an internet connectivity to use the Device Unlock application.
Comes up on screen. So..is this thing unlockabl;e? Since there is no Device Unlock App that I can find for Tracfone/Simple Mobile, and Tracfone says I need to pay for a YEAR before I can unlock.
HELP!?
James
You might be able to buy a Sim unlock code. I would reread the tos as once the device is payed off in full they have to unlock it by law.
As for root and stuff like that, I wouldn't hold your breath as the bootloader on ZTE are normally locked down and no one really developes for low tier devices.

T-Mobile

I have the opportunity to purchase a Galaxy S9 + for T-mobile and would like to use it on ATT. Can someone tell me if this is possible?
As long as it's unlocked you can. I'm bringing my att s8's over to T-Mobile.
When you buy it from TMobile it is locked to them. You would have to go through the unlock process which I believe requires you to use it with TMobile for 45days and to fully pay off the device.
It will be locked to T-Mobile (you will have the Device Unlock App installed in the T-Mobile folder - which you will need to use it to unlock your phone).
However, I am not sure about the waiting period before unlocking. But once you are allowed to unlock it, you don't need to pay the full price. You will have to use an unlocking service to register your IMEI as unlocked.
Once you get your phone, ask them when can you unlock it and if you need to wait.

It will work if it is unlocked. But please if you are buying from a stranger and they are the original owner, go to the T-Mobile store with them to verify it's actually paid off. They should have a receipt of purchase since it was just released. Since it released on the 17th, it shouldn't even be unlocked as it usually takes 40 days of activation on the network to have it unlocked if it's through t-mobile. And it doesn't have to be paid off to have it unlocked so they can sell it to you even if they still owe than report it lost or stolen. Just be cautious, good luck.

Question [CLOSED] Sim/Network Unlocking Service for Nord N200 by Metro

Is anyone here aware of how to get a Nord N200 5G by Metro sim/network unlocked so it can be used in Canada? I put my T-mobile sim in it out of the box and it's working on tmobile network without unlocking it, but I need to send it to my father in Canada so he can use it there on Canadian networks. Is boot unlocking same as network unlocking?
I googled it and some websites are charging $69 to unlock it? Anyone aware of any other online service which does it cheaper than $69? Thanks in advance.
Bootloader unlocking is not the same as SIM unlocking.
I'm unaware of any unlocking services for Metro phones.
I need unlock Nord N200 5G by Metro sim/network. I got bootloader unlock code.

If you go into a real Metro or T-Mobile store (cooperate store) say that you will be going out of the country for awhile they will unlock early device unlock your phone or if you know or are in the military and go in they will defiantly unlock your device . Just call your carrier to find out which store location is a corporate store they will tell you but be honest tell them why and they will send you to appropriate place .

Just a quick warning: DO NOT say you're in the military to get your SIM unlocked, unless you actually are. You could legitimately go to jail for that.
I live outside USA, since 29-Nov-2021,
There is a new Thing Called Temporary Unlock now with new Android Models , so you may not able to get it permanently get it unlock. You can request the temporary unlock 5 times in a year , 1 month for each time. So this Out of Country thing may not work any more
I find it hard to believe there aren't any reputable/ cheap sim unlock services for the n200 on metro. the only one I found is $70. if you don't own the device for 180 days metro refuses to unlock it for free.
Anyone tried the $70 unlock service I tried a 50 one called official sim unlock and they couldn't do it and refunded half my money
MOD ACTION:
Thread closed since it has deteriorated to paid unlocking services with links. This is not allowed on XDA.

Question S23 ultra back to android after 12 years

My question since I’m 100% new to android again is, is there an easy was to sim unlock my s23 ultra it’s coming from Verizon but want to switch it up sometimes
dunno if it trips the knox counter nowadays but you can just flash a non branded rom.
Verizon will automatically unlock the SIM after 60 days.
Device Unlocking Policies | Verizon Privacy Policy
In order to mitigate theft and other fraudulent activity, newly purchased devices are “locked” to work exclusively on the Verizon network. We have separate device unlocking policies that cover postpay and prepaid devices, as well as special rules for deployed military personnel.

I can't believe they still lock Sims in the US. That practice has been banned in Canada since 2017. I feel your pain
Normally, here in the US, carriers won't SIM unlock your phone unless it's paid off (not financed through the carrier). Samsung Finance, I am not sure about.
Flashing an unlocked ROM will NOT SIM Unlock your phone.
Of course, verify with your carrier what the criteria is to get your phone SIM Unlocked.

As part of Verizon's purchase of their 700MHz spectrum, they were required to commit to not locking their devices. They were allowed a 60 day period to try to account for fraud purposes later but whether it's financed or not, Verizon unlocks after 60 days.

Automatic or do I have to call in?
There is an app on Verizon phones called "Network Unlock" which I believe is pinged at 60 days and the phone is then unlocked. Note that if you're using the Unlocked firmware, this app is not available and the phone will not automatically unlock. People have reported having to flash Verizon firmware, reactivate, then go back to U1 firmware.
I had a s21 ultra Verizon branded and I flashed the unlock software the day I got it and it would not work on Verizon or any other carrier. I had to reflash the Verizon firmware and wait the 60 days once it's done then you can flash the unlocked U1 firmware at least that was my experience.
After that I have just bought the U1 and skipped the Verizon nonsense. Also the csc won't change when you put in another carrier sim. So even though you put xaa firmware on it will not show xaa. It will always be vzw so it doesn't really work like a U1 phone.
