----------[Important Information]----------
Android 11 on this device uses a dynamic partition for various partitions called super. The only way to access system is through fastbootd
VZW (Verizon Wireless) stock firmware version confirmed working on XT2061-3, albeit without mmWave 5G (due to [this]). Using this stock was not tested with GSI, but will more than likely work.

----------[Thanks]----------
Thanks to [kusti420] for providing information about the super partition and how to flash GSIs.
----------[Feedback]----------
I have provided this guide to get feedback about which GSIs work and what features in those GSIs work. If you follow this guide, please report back what was working and any steps different from this guide that you had to take. Thanks!

i ran into trouble with this. the firmware you have and lineage your using is now outdated but i tried with both your version and the updated ones and 18.x version of lineage does seem to detect my sim card and the new one lineage 19 detects it but i get the error from verizon that my phone cant be authenticated for calls but everything else works. i notice when im running updated stock, the sim card reads fine and service works normally but before when i had it running older stock firmware (android 10) i got the same thing. everything would work but calls. then when i updated the stock firmware, everything worked. so im not sure what im missing here when trying to follow your direction for getting this installed but maybe you know whats going on since your a verizon user using the global variant. please write me back when you get this. thanks a bunch

Well I only had the phone as a test for getting mmWave 5G on the global variant, which isn't possible due to a proprietary solder pattern on the board, but I no longer use this phone.
What I would recommend for you is to flash the NON-HLOS.bin from the stock firmware that worked for you without a problem. It's the modem firmware and it could cause problems like that. I didn't have any issue with my sim card, calls worked fine over CDMA and I could get text messages and LTE data worked.
I have never even seen the error that says the phone can't be authenticated for calls. Is it coming from a verizon app or is it an android error? I would also suggest to make sure the correct APN is being used, should be VZWINTERNET. I had an issue with an older motorola where it would for some reason randomly switch to some other VZW APN that was wrong.
I didn't do thorough testing of this, I just wanted to get the baseline for getting custom roms running, but I didn't encounter anything like what you're going through. Considering you had this problem on a certain stock firmware version, my best guess is the modem firmware. I did flash the VZW firmware on the phone and that worked as well, maybe you should try flashing that modem firmware? I didn't have issues, but I can't 100% recommend it because VZW expects the QTM 5G modules to be present, which it isn't. I don't know if this could cause hardware issues. Other than that, the phones are 100% identical.
Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner, XDA's "stay logged in" checkbox does not seem to work correctly and this website is a hassle to navigate.

I'll try flashing the Verizon modem when I can. Recently, my service randomly died and I turned on airplane mode to restore service but the unable to authenticate for calls happened again when it worked fine before. I had to restart the phone to get calls working again. No idea what it was about. As for the apn, I was going to transfer the apn over from my s21 plus but it seems the verizon sim already sets the apn automatically to where it's not able to be changed. It's all greyed out. I noticed that I also got the unable to authenticate for calls before I updated the firmware. I bought the phone used and it was behind in updates. When I updated to the second most recent update, I noticed calls started to work. I haven't updated to latest since installing magisk with root broke the Ota update. I could update with a pc easy but I haven't since the things listed here are now out of date so trying to stay with the firmwares listed here. Lastly for 5G, i checked the bands the phone supports before buying it and I believe it matched one or two bands with 5G and I do get 5G in few areas. It also supports most LTE bands that Verizon gives. I didn't see any cdma support, only GSM but from my understanding GSM and CDMA is an older thing when it came to 2g or 3g. What I've gathered is if voice can be done through LTE then calls would work. So just a tip on the testing and things I've come across so far

I just noticed in the thread that voice over LTE doesnt work. I wonder if that's my issue? However I see CDMA voice is working so says the thread here. It's confusing at this point

Ok I remember now when I was trying to enable VoLTE the calls just wouldn't work. I didn't get an error though. You have to turn off VoLTE for it to work again. This is in Settings/Network & Internet/Mobile Network/Advanced Calling.
The developer of the lineageos gsi was aware of this issue and tried to fix it but I guess it only applies to whatever phone he was testing with.
As long as the APN says VZWINTERNET you should be fine. Trying to flash over another APN isn't worth the effort and can cause more problems than it could fix, the values are correct as long as the right APN is being selected.
CDMA is Verizons standard calling radio technology, was also used by Sprint. CDMA is being phased out though to be replaced by LTE entirely. I don't know when this will happen. If you check the GSMArena link in the first post you will see all the bands listed on this phone, and it does support CDMA, which is why calling works without VoLTE.
Considering you were having problems on the stock firmware, it seems like your issue is more than just VoLTE not working, because what you explained is not a typical issue, and no matter what stock firmware you were on, VoLTE and CDMA calling both should've worked out of the box. I would test to make sure your Verizon account even has VoLTE support first because that seems to be the only reason for error messages popping up like you had. Although this doesn't really matter though because this method does not support VoLTE from what I tested.

Well I will do more testing here shortly. I noticed that on lineage 18.x (Android 11) I get a missing Sim card error when a Sim card is present. Then with latest lineage 19, I get no sim error except the calling authentication error. I have Verizon firmware with the modem now so I'll try testing lineage again with the Verizon modem to see how it plays out.
UPDATE: i tried both lineage 18.x and 19 that have android 11 and 12 in them. still have the same result of phone not able to be authenticated even after flashing verizon modem. ive even tried other gsi roms and ether ended in a bootloop or an error saying petition was too small. it seems that the apn for verizon becomes greyed out and changes the apn settings itself from the sim card. ive even tried using the latest stock update with the gsi and same results. (had to pay a site for the firmware since the newest update is exclusive?) at this point, ive decided using a gsi on this phone with verizon service a bust. so ive decided to stick with stock with root and magisk.
on a side note, i noticed the newer updates have provisioning apps installed on the stock firmware for carriers. not sure if that makes much of a difference but im done messing with it.

First of all thanks Knuxyl for your guide, it helped me to install a GSI ROM n my Edge+, I found really good images but in the end all the images I tried had the same issue... "bluetooth devices connects but transfer no audio", I dont think this is a ROM issue, because I tested 6 android 10 custom ROMS and 3 android 11 with the same result, so I wonder if you dont have this same issue or you manage to solve it.
Im using crdroid v313+211013 and BT wont connect to anything unless I disable A2DP hardware offload inside developer options, with this option enable, the phone pairs with devices but transfer no sound also most of audio codecs are not selctable, they are disabled (grau color), if I enable gabeldorsche stack, the phone is unable to pair with devices. Please if anyone have this issue or suggestion let me know. Have a great day.

@Knuxyl - Thanks for putting this guide together.
@ifritknight - Indeed, I also couldn't get bluetooth to work. I got bootloop with Havoc and LOS 19. LOS 18 worked well.

hi , thank you , there are upgrade?

Well this platform isn't widely supported. I wrote the guide just to get us a foot in the door. The problems with VoLTE, sim, and Bluetooth are more than likely an improper implementation of the new oem partition stuff Google started enforcing, which started with Project Treble.
I did request the source for the kernel for global retail and verizon variants like a year ago. They finally released them within the past month on their github, so maybe a lineage developer could take a peek and possibly officially support this phone. This phone is too good to not support, but the display over usb c would take some effort.

Can't make/receive phone calls....

Need some expert here for help before I use ODIN to restore the factory firmware package.
Currently have G925W8 (Canadian Rogers) and currently running Int 5.1.1 rom on it. All of sudden my phone can't make or receive phone calls. I mean when I tried to make the phone call, it just ends right away, and no one can call in to my phone number either and goes to VM directly.
I tried different kernel (Arter/Hacker/UniKernel) and different rom combination...Still no GO...
I tried to apply Mr.X Audio Patch too (not sure how many patches are there, but I only download the one for Mr.X audio patch for 920T) and it doesn't work either.
I know in G925W8 forums talk about different BL/Modem, different combination and no go either.
Please note my phone works perfectly and I can get the internet connection (LTE) but just can't make the phone call. Even now I won't use the phone much but still need to have the phone work.
I think the major issue is when I am in the phone, go to call settings -> More Settings that give me an error "Failed to Read data Network or Sim card error".. I though it's my sim card, but i plugged it in my 1+1 and have no issue making/receiving calls..
Anyone that have any idea?!?
calling in out
had the same problem, in my case i installed an original samsung 5.1.1 and a kernel to root the phone, i got the same as you, everything worked but the phone.
only way to get out, is download from samsung firmware repository or sam mobile the EXACT ROM FOR YOU MODEL AND CARRIER (i cannot emphasize enough the CARRIER) believe it or not if you want to install an original rom you must respect the carrier for a custom rom it's something else altogether
in your case you odin with the rom of you phone/carrier IF IT WORKS (NOT ROOTED) I mean ccalling in/out, then install a different kernel in order to root.
if it works then your previous kernel (as was in my case) was the culprit
good luck
the carrier is where you bought the phone or the cell co affiliated to the store where you bought the phone, there's ALWAYS a link from "A" carrier in your phone

Patch for LS990 enable GSM network with any ROM (custom, stock or AOSP)

I firstly want to say that this is not my work, i am just sharing a patch that always works for my LS990 with any rom i've flashed on it. Credits goes to mentor (he published it in this site). I see many people asking for GSM enabled custom roms for ls990 and maybe this can be helpful for them.
This patch will just change some properties of the build.prop file in order to enable sim detection and GSM capabilities (for more info you can visit the previous link).
I've used it with Blisspop, CM 12 & 12.1, Dirty Unicorns, CloudyG3 and others Lollipop based roms out there (i can't remember all of them) in GSM networks outside U.S.
Today i flashed 6.0.1 Marshmallow of Resurrection Remix (link to the rom here) and after flashing the patch everything is working just fine.
Despite whatsapp notifications , here some captures of my phone running RR 6.0.1 on GSM network Claro:

Before flashing to BareCee ZVC, I specifically asked questions about GSM working. At least one user confirmed to me that GSM worked fine for him on BareCee ZVC, without mentioning the need for any additional modifications.
I haven't tried it yet, as I am heading to Japan next month, which is where I connect to Softbank's GSM network. What I did notice when I first flashed BareCee V2 is that the GSM option was not visible. In order to reveal GSM as an option, you must first be sure that both "international Voice Roaming" and "International Data Roaming" are checked under the "Roaming" menu settings. Once those are checked, you can go back under More > Mobile Networks > Network Mode... and you will now see the option for GSM/UTMS at the bottom of the list.
While that option is now visible and accessible, what I do not know is whether or not it will actually work, without any modification. However, just in case you're not actually seeing the GSM/UTMS setting, I thought I'd pass this info along.
Good Luck!

We you able to get GSM working? If so, did you need the mod here or did you simply use the instructions I provided above to reveal the GSM option?
not quite yet, went back to cloudy, since this was a friends phone , didnt get to play around much as he didnt have a phone for work. but having a look at the script, i believe some settings in the build.prop is incorrect causing these issues, need to compare with the one in cloudy , there maybe other dependancies, but havent had the time to check
It work but I cannot configure APN

IT WORKED! Thanks! but I want to set up my APN but when I try to set it up I got a Msg saying :APN setting are no available for this user"
Just to make sure I understand, this does not add LTE functionality, correct? Those bands are just absent from this model?
Thank you , its working , but I have a problem, can't switch between 2g and 3g from the settings , when switching it just mentions than it's 2g but when activating data it's on 3g, I don't know if I must add or modify some lines from build.prop.
I did not try this patch but i did edit my build prop from SPNT (or what ever) to OPEN and also got that unusable phone with non stop pop ups. This discourages me from trying this but would like to know if it works on Sprint LG G3 LS990 ZVC

You can edit your build prop just adding these two lines here allow u to edit your apn
http://forums.androidcentral.com/ve...41691-mod-add-apn-editor-system-settings.html it works on ls990 i have my other lg g3 working on gsm using that method no com.phone errors ir anything atleast confirmed working on sprint ls990 in US on att. I used shorcut master lite from the play store to get to apnsettings. Clicked 3 dots on top right corner to make new apn and made it and it stuck. Some thing ive never seen my ls990 do.

Modem fatal error when I insert a sim - AS990 flashed to LS990
I am trying to determine where i have gone wrong in my process of converting an AS990 to LS990 and then use it on GSM service. I followedd the procedure posted on XDA by BakedTater, and everything looked to work correct until i attempted to take it further for use with GSM. i am trying to apply the CDMA to GSM patch and then use the phone with Tmobile or ATT service.
i did not locate the line in the build property to edit ro.build.target_operator=SPR to GLOBAL or spr etc, so is this the cause? I have tried the CDMA to GSM zip for Sprint LS990, as well as the zip for generic global gsm phones. Everything appears to be working fine, UNTIL i put in a GSM sim and then i receive the following error. Is this due to the wrong modem or maybe this phone needs more things updated to support GSM? I have flashed all available LS990 modems, as well as an original AS990 modem, with no real change. The phone did show it connected to tmobile service briefly before the latest crash detailed below.

4G / LTE connectivity on SIM1

Hello,
Are there any users with Redmi note 3 Pro / Snapdragon version that have issues like no 4G or LTE connectivity while using sim1?
this has worked for me when I first bought the phone.
I unlocked the bootloader - unofficial version, installed twrp, tried to flash a rom, bricked my deice, than I managed to flash 7.2.3 global stable official rom - my bootloader was relocked, but sim1 could no more connect on 4g network.
while searching for it manually I can see it, but when i click it to connect, it just registers on 3g network.
since than I have tried to reset the device, full erase, no luck.
I installed global developer rom - with locked bootloader - no luck
I received a code to unlock bootloader, i Unlocked it, but still no 4g connection on sim1.
Any idea what could be wrong?
P.S.
If I put the same SIM in slot 2, 4g connects with no issues, but I want to use that slot for the Microsd card.
And I kind of found the culprit.
The phone that is sold in many countries comes with customized miui 7.1.9.0.0 (note the extra 0) and on this rom version 4g works on sim 1, on global versions it does not.
And now I am searching for a customized rom that can't be found anywhere.
Well I had the same version 7.1.9.0.0 (the unofficial multilanguage) when I got the phone, but I have not activated the 4G on my providers. In the mean time this rom had many issues (didn't recognise the second sim etc) so I flashed with EDL and MiFlash the original Global rom (7.1.7.0) and was ΟΤΑ updated to 7.1.8.0 . Since then I have no 4g on SIM1 but it works fine in slot2
I then got permission to unlock bootloader and unlocked it by flashing the official Chinese Dev 6.3.31.
Someone on the official site reported that the baseband of the AOSP and/or 7.1.7.0 solves the problem if you flash it manually via fastboot... I tried all the following basebands but no luck either.
- AOSP rom baseband (A.2.0.c1.1-00005-8976_GEN-PACK-1)
- Stable 7.1.7.0 rom baseband (A.2.0.c1.1-00019-8976_GEN-PACK-1)
- Stable 7.2.2.0 / 7.2.3.0 rom baseband (1-00019-8976_GEN_PAC K-1.49420.2 .)
Now I have the Greek Stable 7.2.2.0 (based in the Chinese Stable and made by the official fan site in Greece Xiaomi-Hellas) and yet no 4G.
It has been reported as a bug on the official site and as they say the developers are looking to solve it within the next updates..
Hi Project_P we meet again! heh
OP: if you don't need dual sim, try adding a dummy sim on slot 1 and turn it off and keep your normal sim in slot 2. That fixed the issue for me (obviously not ideal if you need dual sim OR if you need to expand storage).

That is the trick, I want to be able to use the microsd slot also. I am thinking of stripping a sim card and glue it to a microsd card as per the many tutorials out there.
Have you tried changing the cellular network type to "LTE" or similar?
I managed to regain 4g by doing this

I have tried to select it manually, but as soon as i click it, it just connects to 3g network.
There are many people who have this issue on en.miui.com/ thread-265011-1-1.html (correct the link) including me.
I came from a modified ROM 7.1.99.99 by the seller and I flash Miui (7.1.8.0) without unlocking the boatloader. Result: No LTE.
I flash the 6.3.31 the same way. No LTE too.
I set preferred network type to LTE only and no signal.
I've 4g on SIM2 when I've two SIM cards and sometimes on SIM 1. It's not stable
Hello,
I am French and I also got my phone with the Rom 7.1.9.0.(0) and I also lost 4G on slot 1. Sometimes I can have it on slot 2 by putting a second SIM card slot 2, but it is very unstable and sometimes I lose it also on slot 2. I installed all the Rom that exists but the Chinese / English, but nothing has changed . Even forcing the preferred 4G, I stay in H / H +. It's hopeless, now I think selling it but I will lose money because the 4G does not work.
Up ! We need some help here

Same problems here. Have to try changing to SIM2 slot and will report back. Weird bug.
edit: Better late than never. SIM2 only supports Nano from what I can tell. Couldn't switch since I'm on Micro. Will have to try with another SIM.
Same issue here. I lost 4g in sim slot 1 somewhere along the way through changing MIUI roms (Official/Dev/China etc) trying to unlock officially.
Until today with SIM1 slot Active, and SD Card inserted - No 4g anywhere.
Today I tried the hardware mod (sticking SIM to SD Card) - I now have 4G!

This is a method to get 4g working on SIM1 for a while. I got this info from XIaomi forums:
1. Turn off your phone
2. Put two simcard (micro & nano) that support 4G
3. Set data/internet to simcard 2
4. Eject your simcard tray without power off
5. Remove simcard 1 and put only simcard 2
6. Set LTE only on simcard 1 (using *#*#4636#*#* method)(dial that number, click phone information 1 and "Set preferred network type:" to LTE only)
7. Eject your simcard tray, and put simcard 1 again
8. Wait a few minute, if simcard 2 change to H+/3G
9. Switch data/internet to simcard 1
10. And ...... 4G/LTE work again using simcard 1.
11. After this you can eject the tray again without turning the phone off and swap SIM2 with microsd card.
I have the exact same situation as OP, even living in the same country. The thing is other users on the phone's softpedia section don't have this issue after flashing the 7.2.5.
I was hoping the 7.3.2. OTA would resolve this but there's no change.
My bug report was closed saying an update will come: http://en.miui.com/thread-280981-1-1.html.
Edit: I don't have a 2nd SIM to try that, nano-SIM too.

Whenever you can do the truck, do it. I also got the update to 7.3.2.0, but it is now back on 3g. I will do the mod again now.
A few have reported that a factory reset solved some issues.

I have the same issue with my handset too. even after update to 7.3.
Today I tested with only nano sim in slot 2 & it started finding 4G signals.
But slot 1 still work only for 2G & 3G
Hello,
I will repeat myself once, but I can confirm that if you received your phone with the Rom 7.1.9.0.0 dealer, it is because of her that we lost 4G on slot 1.
I really tried everything, even change the line build.prop but nothing has changed, still no 4G on slot 1.
Maybe if Xiaomi is an update of the Baseband, we can recover but this is not certain.

I know that, but still, it should work normal with international rom, because it uses the same modem as all redmi note 3 snapdragons out there.
Basically, Redmi Note 3 comes in 3 versions, two Chinese ones (One with MTK and one with SD650) and Global one(SD650). The Global version is the one that is sold in India, Taiwan, Singapore and part of Europe. The Chinese SD650 version, mostly sold in China, says it supports more bands than the Global one.
Chinese SD650 version LTE bands:
B1/B2/B3/B4/B5/B7/B8
B38/B39/B40/B41(2555-2655MHz)
Global Sd650 version LTE bands:
B1/B3/B5/B7/B8
B38/B39/B40/B41(2555-2655MHz)
I bought the Chinese one as I need to have Band 4 to work with my USA carrier. It worked when i was in China, but same unfortunate thing happens the me when I came back to the States and wiped my phone to dev. I can't access 4g band 4 on Sim 1, 3g connection is bad on Sim1 too. Sim 2 works fine for two days and then the 4g downgrades to 3g and then 3g connection is on and off.

Investigating repair of Emergency Only issue on Galaxy S6 Edge

Hi all!
I bought an S6 Edge second hand and after flashing a stock ROM, I had the "emergency only" calls issue, I tried everything I could find in the forums to no avail and I ended up taking it to a repair service. I did not think they could fix it but they did and I would like to know what they did to it in order to prevent it from happening again and to know if I can leave it as default (not custom OS) so that it can upgrade.
State of phone when bought:
So, the phone was working well with all carriers (from Colombia). The only thing I was able to notice after I bought it was that it was still on Marshmallow (6.0.1) with carrier branded stuff. It was in perfect shape otherwise.
So I downloaded a stock ROM and installed it using Odin. After this the phone would not let me make calls as it was not registering on the network. It did not even let me make emergency calls despite getting full bars of signal and being able to recognise the list of carriers when attempting to manually connect to them.
Important: The ROM downloaded was for the right version of the phone which was the G925i and the IMEI, serial number and baseband were not altered from the original. Also, I checked the phone to see if it was reported as lost/stolen and it was not (of this I'm sure because in Colombia you can consult a centralised database on any carrier's webpage). Also.. Here in Colombia it is illegal for carriers to lock phones.
Steps I took to fix it:
Downloaded ROMs for all carriers, branded and unbranded, I even installed one from Trinidad and Tobago and a LATAM one.
I performed all the tricks to disable and enable flight mode, location services, try con connect manually to the networks, changing to GSM only, GMS/CDMA, international roaming, etc.
I also extracted modem.bin from an earlier version and flashed the modem.bin with Odin (6.0.1 moden on 7.0, 5.1.1 moden on 6.0.1 and 5.1.1 moden on 7.0). All modems flashed correctly and the issue remained exactly the same.
So I finally gave up.. I installed the latest stock ROM which was an unbranded Nougat (7.0) version and took it to a repair service and they fixed it in a couple hours.
What I noticed after the phone was "repaired":
- The phone was rooted, SuperSu was installed, no other root app was installed.
- On SuperSu, there are entries for ADB shell (they all say Superuser command contents have not been logged for this entry) in a two minute timespan.
- The android version was downgraded to 6.0.1, I was told not to try to update it.
- Developer options was enabled with USB debugging turned on.
- The boot option (the one where you can wipe data and cache partition) was left as original (not the TWRP one).
- The ROM used to downgrade was the same I had before but only downgraded the version.
I suspect this same procedure was performed before on the phone but it had the original ROM carrier branded so it seems as if they installed a custom ROM, rooted it, connected with pc and performed some command line stuff to fix it, then cleaned the bootloader to a stock one.
The questions:
Any ideas what did the repairman do to fix the phone? Also, would it be safe to make a full backup with TWRP and flash again a stock ROM upgraded to 7.0 and then flash the backed up modem to get it working? Or would that possibly screw up the repair?
Thank you all in advance for any help. I'm sure there are lots of people out there experiencing the same "emergency only" issue I had but there does not seem to be a fix around, but clearly there is one! So I hope this sheds some light into what could possibly happen.

Moto Z LTE band issues after 7.1.1

Hi All,
Recently Moto has pushed 7.1.1 update for Moto z. But as always, update is not flawless. It seems like LTE Band 5 and Band 40 is not working after the update. It works fine on Band 3 though.
If you guys have the same issue of 4g, kindly do the following and post the band number (or LTE frequency) on which it is not connecting.
1. Install the app LTE Discovery
2. Remove sim tray and open LTE Discovery.
On right top box, you will see LTE information as shown in below screenshot.
{

"lightbox_next": "Next",

}
3. Now insert the simtray with your sim in slot 1. You will see the app picking up information. (Note: be quick to take a screenshot or remember the band number. It will disconnect shortly. If it disconnects before you could get the band information, repeat the steps 2 and 3) If you have successfully taken a screenshot, it should look like the below pic.
4. Now post the Band which is not working in your phone and the Band that are working (If the Band is working, it should not disconnect immediately) along with your software channel.
In my case, Band 3 is working and Band 5 and 40 are not working. Mine is RETIN.
PS. If you cannot view the image, please download the attachment as a zip file.
Same issue since 7.1.1
Hi,
after installing 7.1.1 this morning it seems i got the same issues.
My little network strength display triangle shows a very small x on the right side, and no mobile data flow.
If connected to HSDPA everyting works fine, as well phone calls are ok (no phone via LTE here).
Talking to a technitian of my provider (Hutchison 3 Austria) he told me he could monitor my phone trying to connect,
changing between 4G and 3G but no data flow.
Now, LTE Discovery shows my Z jumps between Band 1 and 3, but not establishing any stable connection.
Softwarechannel is 'reteu'
Talking to a Motorola online help chat they just told me to send my Z in for repairing (after it didnt work in safe mode as well).
Now, what to do?
P.S.: its already my 2nd Z, as my first one crashed its SW and after restart had excellent 4G internet, but no more phone working, as it didnt switch back to HSDPA or 3G
4G/LTE issue after 7.1.1. update - Moto Z
Hi,
This LTE / 4G issue is the same on my Moto Z too after the 7.1.1. update.
Only 4G/LTE not works, 3G/2G works fine... but who use those?
I've contactet the US and the Europe Support of Motorola too.
And after reading a lot of topics about this problem, I said them, to make a fix for this, because its a global issue, and lot of people just can't use it's 4G/LTE mobile network.
They told me to go to my service provider. I did it, we tried my SIM card in other mobile brands, 4G works perfectly, only the Moto Z can't connect to 4G/LTE.
As U guys said, yes the LTE Bands are the problem on our region.
For example, my case is the following:
Region: Hungary
Service provider: Telenor
Bands that are have to be enabled/supported on this region with this service provider: B3, B7, B20.
I tried the LTE Discovery app too, and I saw that my phone trying to connect to the B20 and B3 but not establishing any stable connection.
At the moment I really don't know what can I do.

Hi, thanks for sharing.. Moto customer care is virtually useless. I tried contacting their technical team with no success. My best guess is, Moto screwed up with their modem configuration. In RETIN device, B5 and B40 are not working. I am guessing B5 and B40 is not available in Europe. B3 (which is a common band in Europe) is working fine in RETIN.
If they find out the issue, they can fix within a week. Probably flashing modem (NON-HLOS.bin - was the modem file in Moto firmware, I am not sure if they are still using the same name. It's been a while since I did these things.) from an old firmware should also fix this issue..
I would suggest you to wait till the next update, I am still trying to point this issue our to Moto tech team.

Hi, I am from India. After the update, my phone worked fine.. I was very happy, but I came to my hometown for the weekend. On my way, signal dropped. And since then I am managing with wifi. My carrier is a 4g only carrier. I don't have any other number too. I really hope to get signal back in the place where I work. (Band 3 seems to be working in RETIN device).
I am quite sure this is a minor bug on the technical implementation front. Moto can fix it in a week, if they come to know about the issue and it's seriousness. Being a well established brand, this is definitely not a thing you wanna do. It is a blunder by Lenovo owned Moto.

The same problem in Poland. No internet on B3/B20. LTE at B1 works (other provider).
Is there anyone in the USA that is experiencing these LTE issues since installing 7.1.1, or is this purely an international issue? So far since installing 7.1.1 the only problems I've encountered were screen freeze/reboot. But as far as my LTE strength with Verizon Wireless goes, everything is status quo.
I am in the USA, using att, and after updating to 7.1.1 I had the phone set to 3G only here and it was effectively stuck with no option to enable LTE. A network reset fixed that and now I am ONLY on LTE and often it seems to lose the signal. I will try to run the diagnostic tool today. Seems it is a problem on Lenovo side for sure.
Same issue for me in Hungary (B7 connects well in the downtown area, but suburbs only has B3 and B20, those don't have any data connection at all).
I started a thread on the Lenovo forums about this, and many users confirmed, but still not reply from any official Moto account. I also tried the Moto UK support by email, and they said if factory reset doesn't work (no it doesn't), i should send the phone in for repairs. Since my phone is from Germany, that would be quite a hassle
Has anybody tried to downgrade? For RETEU models there is a 6.0.1 fw version available that would be installed via mfastboot. Or maybe just the radio modem...?

Don't try to downgrade to M, it will brick your device because the bootloader has changed from M to N. You can flash the RETBR N firmware via fastboot or RSD-lite. This is the only way to revert to stock 7.1.1 for RETEU devices. The softwarechannel changes automatically into RETEU after flashing and, once booted, you can take several OTAs until 7.1.1.

If you had issues with 7.1.1 you could stay with the latest 7.0, witch is NPLS25.86-30-12 and don't accept the 7.1.1 OTA.
I have the Moto Z force from verizon and after 7.1.1 i can not connecto to LTE 4g,
I'm using this phone with T -Mobile, but i was working fine before the update..
Any news?
Thanks
Band 7 and 8 missing
Getting Band 1,3 and 20 here in Czech Republic with Vodafone.
Band 7 and 8 are missing, as well as the complete absence of LTE-banner, enchanced LTe and VoLTE.
Been using LTE-discovery-app to log, as well as a brief switch of provider (Telenor) to confirm. Have also reported in the Lenovo-forum.

This is still an ongoing issue for me. I guess we just live with it dropping the connection and not having full LTE support until the next update, anyone who had their device "serviced" have any better luck?
Well, I ended up sending mine off for service and I am on 7.1.1 from the factory on retus.
My problems seem to be fixed. I'm still pretty salty about this and will likely wait eons before Oreo if it ever drops.
