Question Notifications on mobile data and wifi - Xiaomi Mi MIX 4

I've noticed I'm not getting all notifications when I'm using mobile data. I have to open the app to check if there are any.
As soon as I turn on wifi they all come in. I've checked several settings, but can't find why this is happening.
These apps have no battery restrictions. And restrict data usage for these apps is set to WLAN and mobile.
Am I missing something?

[Q] background data and market

Im not sure if it was in 1.6 aswell, but after updating to 2.1, i noticed in the settings under accounts and sync, that there is an option to disable background data.
i disabled it to try prevent me from getting charges because i dont have a data plan. But when i go to the market using wifi, it says that the market requires background data to be enabled.
my question is that if i enable background data, but disabled data roaming and auto sync, will the market downloads count towards data usage?

Android os/services still use data even with droidwall enabled

I rooted my phone yesterday using MyGKernel and installed droidwall.I allowed all apps to use wifi and disallowed all of them from using 3G but android background services still use data.I got background data and autosync disabled. Also I noticed that after rooting my phone, the screen turns on by itself in random times.I'm running Android 2.3.6,please help !
go to settings - wireless and networks/mobile networks/ use packet data, data roaming. both off, to disable data via cell provider.
i dont know about the screen issue, some app waking you unit up?, you dont need droidwall if you disable packet data.

But I need the packet data to be on for a vodafone app called vodafone buzz. Its an app that lets me connect to fb/twitter/msn/yahoo/gtalk for 1 dollar a month and I don't get charged for internet data. But the problem is the android services use data for no reason even with droidwall enabled.Oh and I fixed the screen thing,it was a problem with an app.

yes its a fact of Android you have data on so they connect .
try Better Battery Stats to see if you can pin down further .

App that automatically alternates WiFi/Data?

Hello,I'm looking for an app that:
1.Enables WiFi when there's a network available (based on location or checking periodically every hour for example) and disables data the moment it connects.
2.Enables Data the moment I lose WiFi connection and automatically disables WiFi.
Simple, but I just can't find such an app. Most of the just switch on WiFi using location based rules but also leave Data ON.
Looking to maximize battery life without having to keep switching WiFi/Data ON or OFF myself.
N.
Not sent from my Xperia.
Smart WiFi Toggler from Google Play Store does this. Now updated with Lollipop support.
Not sent by me!

Wifi settings?

Can anyone explain to me what 'restricting wifi networks' actually does? I cannot seem to notice any difference between when a wifi network is restricted v not restricted! Also, Wifi power saving mode? Does it really preserve battery if its constantly analysing your phone?
If you use Wi-Fi, you can also set your device to restrict data usage on Wi-Fi networks that are mobile hotspots or mobile data. This will help you optimize your data usage by preventing apps from using background data or large downloads on these networks, only download use when Wi-Fi available..

Question WhatsApp issues with Wi-Fi Connection

I have tried different Wi-Fi connections but it sill once in a while tells me that specific app can't work on Wi-Fi, only with mobile data. The issue with that is that I don't have good signal reception at home. Would appreciate any suggestions to solve the issue. I have tried several solutions found online such as: uninstalling and installing back again with a backup, deleting cache and data, resetting Network settings. I have never had an issue like this before with anyother phone.
You can keep the Wi-fi connection at the center of the house which will cover eventually every place, or keep it closer to your room so it won't get disconnected! As for the apps, you can go to the app settings and change the network usage from mobile data to wi-fi. Which apps are not connecting to Wi-fi?

It only happens with the WhatsApp app. I think I found a workaround. This problem may happen if you have multiple access points in your house. Even though is not a proper solution (the issue never happened with my old phone), you just have to turn off and on Wi-Fi and dismiss the notification. WhatsApp will probably work fine after that.
