Question Mi 11i : Wrong speed connexion display (in the notification bar) when WiFi access point is active - Xiaomi Mi 11i / 11X Pro / Redmi K40 Pro+

Hi !
I found a bug in the display of the connection speed: when the WiFi access point is active, the connection speed does not display what goes through this access point. Ex: I do a speedtest or I download a large file on the computer (50 Mb / s) and the speed displayed on the phone is only a few kb / s or even 0. I am with the latest Global Rom (12.5.3 ). Have you noticed the same problem? Does the bug also exist on the latest EEA Rom (12.5.7)?

[Q] Maybe I could not connect to 3G

Hi everybody,
there is something very strange with my HD2 (Orange FR) :
before I'm sure that there was the icon "3G" on the top right corner of the phone while I could connect to the 3G and then when I connected (to download the weather for instance) where was a second icone 3G with the antenna.
While I go in vacation in the south of France, I didn't see any more the second icon on the antenna. Maybe I make a mistake and I dreamed and I've never seen the second icon 3G with the antenna before... that's why I said "maybe" in the title .
To be sure I made speed test with a web site (I didn't find a tool for Win6.5 such like there is on android).
Download speed : 377 kbps
Upload speed : 420 kbps
Firstly, I'm surprised that the upload is greater than the download. I tried two times to be sure.
My package (Orange) allow me to use 3G+ but it is not always available at my location (not in a big town).
Please, could you indicate if there is a problem with my HD2 or if I could act on a specific setting or if I'm wrong and all is OK ? I tried to find the official/real speed of E, H, 3G 3G+ but I didn't find it.
I tried to change the radio : 2.10.50.28 and 2.12.50.02 under NetDrj ROM.
Now my config : Radio 2.11.50.26 and last Chucky ROM
Nothing changed with my new config.
Notice that I could go on internet with my phone, download weather etc.

Now I'm sure I made a mistake and I'd never seen the icon "3G" more the antenna...
For Orange FR there is no more simple "3G". All the network is on HSPDA and "H" is indicated on the HD2. If someone as more information he can post on this thread.

Serious PEAP Wireless Problem (SK17i)

I've been having serious problem with Wifi on my SK17i when connected to the PEAP 802.11x wireless network at work.
At first I thought it was the wireless connection attempting to maintain too high a link speed but more testing suggests it's more fundamental than that.
What I've discovered is that I can set up an ICMP ping to the default gateway that will work fine as long as that is the only traffic but soon after I start transferring data outside the network the pings to the default gateway start failing (with the message ping: sendmsg: No buffer space available) and no network traffic goes anywhere over the wifi connection until I turn it off and on again, but if I do that then as soon as I start sending real data again the connection will collapse once more.

Has anyone else seen anything similar or have any ideas what can be done about it (I've raised it as a bug with SE [though who knows if they'll even read it] and also on the Free Xperia issue tracker)
I use PEAP too, and I have not experienced problems with 4.0.2.A.0.58

Can you post your wpa_supplicant.conf (with ssid, id and password removed of course) to check which settings your connection is using ?

[Q] [CM7] Data connection problem when Wifi is OFF

Hello Everyone,
I've changed my current ROM to CM7.2 (miracle V4),
the new One is quite handy, fast, smooth and Great UI. BUT
I'm the only one who's facing this problem with packet data, i don't get the
3G/H/2G
icon in status bar, and the signal turns only blue when working wifi data is
connected ( if i'm not wrong, blue would mean data can be sent and recived)
Summing up, I don't get packet data AT ALL ; My APNs are correctly
configured, flashed stock via odin, data is working superfine, but i really love
MIRACLE V4 and would stay on it.
THUS:
1. data is ENABLED
2. APNs are correctly configured
3. data is working on STOCK

I've searched alot and many others face the NO DATA CONNECTION ON CM7 but on Vibrant/SII ...
poeple talk about changing phone MODEMS?
and that it maybe from blocked hosts, fixing through flashing modems via ODIN?

Wifi speed - Redmi Note 4X

Hi. I want to know how max wifi speed has Redmi Note 4X. I have internet 100Mb/s in home but phone in tests shows only about 40Mb/s (max 45). When I download some files it shows max 4MB/s. It's strange because phone has a/b/g/n standard, so it should show 100Mb/s.

I get 80-90Mbs download speed via 5G wifi from a Xiaomi Mini router, which has a max ethernet speed of 100Mbs.
So no problem with wifi speed.

Guys I discovered how to speed up wifi speed. Go to /data/misc/wifi and open "WCNSS_qcom_cfg.ini" file. Find "gChannelBondingMode5GHz=1" line. Under this add "gChannelBondingMode24GHz=1" line. Next find "WmmIsEnabled=0" and change 0 to 1. Next reboot. My wifi speed up from 40Mb/s to 80.

I see you've managed to enable the 2.4 GHz channel bonding, but, does anyone know the maximum speed that mido support? I'm using mine on a 5 GHz wifi network and it can't go above 150mbps of link speed. It's the same on both frequencies (2.4 and 5 GHz). I have other Android phones that are connected with a link of 433mbps.
I tried a lot of tweaks and none of them worked.

The SoC in the phone theoretically can support 802.11ac (2 x 2 : 1)
but the actual SoC in the phone does not support it, it's not built in (it's in WCN3680b) - only 802.11n.
The phone's SoC has a WCN3660B and it has no 802.11ac (in WCN3680B there is).
This is what the phone can do fo you 802.11n:
- 1x1:1 antenna config and thus

. | '-- 1 RX antenna
. '-- 1 TX antenna,
- so one antenna, the antenna has a Tx/Rx integrated switch
thus (with one antenna) there's no possibility for MIMO, nor beamforming (not even physically possible)
but that's a 802.11ac feature anyway (and as I mentioned the chip inside does not support it).
(Note: BT is using the same antenna!
You can easily experience the slowdown of Wifi connection
along with an active and traffic forwarding BT connection
because the internal switch has to switch to BT TX/RX too.)
- Long or Short GI (800ns | 400ns)
- Channel bandwidth: 20 or 40MHz (HT20 | HT40)

Wow, thank you for sharing your knowledge with us. I'm actually ok now that I know that mido is physically not capable to go any further. That's something I'll look into on my next phone. Crap my bad it's in the vendor file not in the /data. I changed the "WmmIsEnabled" to 1 already just gonna test if something has changed
