[RECOVERY][SM-T820][SM-T825][UNOFFICIAL] TWRP for Galaxy Tab S3
# How to install
Unlock the bootloader.
Download TWRP and flash the recovery image via Odin.
Download HavocOS 4 for Galaxy Tab S3.
Be aware of the board name.
Download GAPPS for Android 11 and the others you want to flash.
Only OpenGApps is tested. (open_gapps-arm64-11.0-pico-20210130-TEST.zip)
Enter TWRP recovery.
The first boot to TWRP might be very slow because of the unmatched file systems.
Format the whole system, data, cache partitions using the format menu.
You will type `yes` to do that.
Flash the images.
If you're going to install GApps or something, you have to install the LineageOS first.
Reboot the system.
Done.

I think those two have the almost same speed. But HavocOS has more customizable options and it passes CTS profile with Magisk Hide.

This rom works very well. Thanks for releasing it.

I have installed the lineage OS 18.1 ROM recently. Can I dirty flash this one or I have to format everything and loose root and all the applications I have installed?

You should format everything to move to another ROM. It is strongly recommended, and we don't know what problem will be caused by dirty flashing from LineageOS to HavocOS.

I did a dirty flash from latest LOS 18.1 to Havoc since it has the same LOS base and i had no issues so far.
But i idk how it will be for you. Only thing i did was formating system partition in TWRP before i flashed Havoc.
But try it on your own risk.

I was literally about to trade in my Tab S3 as it was on its last legs. Slow to do anything other than browse and even that was painful.
Having read these forums for a long time I thought I'd give this a try before committing £600.
After a few hiccups with TWRP not seeming to 'stick' I finally managed it.
What a difference! Its seriously like a new machine.
Fast, responsive and up to date.
Thank you so much for all your hard work.

thanx.....but i keep losing Gps signal

Thanks for the hard work! This rom is awesome! I gave up on this tablet due to lack of support. I feel like you made this a true ipad contender!

I hope you do android 12 as well!

Dear all. I have a question and if someone knows please help. I installed yesterday viper4android via magisk. Even though I played with all its parameters I could NOT notice any changes in the sound of the speakers. I CAN'T understand why.

Dear all, I have tried the steps to flash the HAVOC rom but facing an error. My tab (825) is correctly unlocked and the right recovery flashed. It can boot successfully to the recovery, however I see the error E: failed to verify whole-file signature. With other ROMs I flash, I am able to skip the signature verification prompt which does not appear here.
Please help me out if you can.
Thanks all.

Thanks for your contribution!
There is a small typo in the first post - the download URL actually points to jfltexx instead of jfltevzw builds.
Got a question, what root are you using in this? AICP switched to a systemless root magisk and couldn't get it working. Is this is still old school root? Systemless root has to patch the boot.IMG and with the bootloader locked it wont work? Correct? Just trying to understand. Thanks
Would like to switch.

Which custom recoveries do work on Verizon variant? Everytime I install TWRP is gives me this message: "System software not authorized by Verizon wireless has been found on your phone "
Alternatively, can this be flashed using Flashify?

We don't have an unlocked bootloader. If your bootloader version is MDK, however, there is an exploit known as LOKI. The LOKI exploit allows the bootloader to load 'unsigned' software, if said software has been patched to use the LOKI exploit. If your bootloader is NOT MDK, you're SOL. Don't tamper any more or you risk a brick.
(You can check your bootloader version by typing 'getprop|grep bootloader' in a terminal emulator on your device, or using 'adb shell' and then that from a command line on your computer.)
If you download and install TWRP from the TWRP app or site, it will not be LOKI patched. You need to find a patched recovery and flash that. Check the official TWRP thread. There is a gentleman who was kind enough to throw together a little command script that will flash a LOKI signed TWRP to your phone, if you have ADB enabled and are rooted.

This ROM is for MDK bootloaders only. It is not safestrap-compatible. On NK1, you'll need to stick with safestrap-compatible ROMs (TouchWiz-derived).
Also, please don't quote the OP

SuperSU I believe.
Alright, I'm taking the plunge. Loading 20170412 weekly and trying the SuperSU System-mode installer
Not going great. I was able to flash LineageOS and Pico Gapps, but every attempt I've made to root (system-mode method) so far has ended in boot-loops.
@uhh186 any tips would be appreciated.

I'm sorry; I don't use my SG4 anymore, I just play with it every once and a while to see if I can't get the latest software on it. I was wrong/misremembered when I said SuperSU.
We can't use SuperSU because nougat+ requires systemless mode, and we can't do that with a locked bootloader.
My SG4 is rooted, so I went and looked what I had done. It appears I had just flashed the LOS root module.

No apology necessary. Thanks for the help. It is strange, though. I've completely wiped internal storage, formatted data, installed again, and tried the LOS root addon. I still don't have root. The ChainsDD Superuser app from the Play store thinks I have root, but Titanium Backup and Root Checker can't find it.

LOS root requires some weird hoop jumping. Go into your developer options and make sure Root Access is enabled for apps and ADB.

Because it has an Exynos processor.
Thanks Davidmueller for continuing support to our
Note 10.1 2014 LTE.
Mine is a T-Mobile US P-607T and so far has been compatible with all P605 builds.
Would this work on the 2012 edition?

thank u, will try
Install on my 607, installed ok, gapps installed ok, but there seems to be an issue with the wifi.
I'm unable to see my AP. Other devices connect just fine. I don't use the 4g/LTE sim slot.
*UPDATE 1*
The SSID is not broadcasting, it can see other networks/connect that ARE broadcasting the SSID
*UPDATE 2*
Google is being dumb. I found an additional setting for when adding a hidden wifi network.

[ROM][8.1.0][PRE-OFFICIAL] LineageOS 15.1 for Galaxy Note 9 (Exynos)

Note: This is not a ROM based on the ROM shipped with your device. Exynos variants such as International (F), International Dual(Hybrid)-SIM (F/DS), Korean (N) ONLY. In NO way it is compatible with Snapdragon variants including but not limited to American(U/U1/A/T/P/V), Chinese(0/8/6), Hong Kong(0), Japanese(SC-*), Canadian(W) variants.
LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 8.1 (Oreo), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.
LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.
All the source code for LineageOS is available in the LineageOS Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to LineageOS, please visit out Gerrit Code Review. You can also view the Changelog for a full list of changes & features.

Device Info:
Galaxy Note 9 (Exynos): TBD
What's working:
TBD
This build is an official LineageOS build. Compliance with our device support requirements is enforced and guaranteed. That means including but not limited to these hardwares will work:
Wi-Fi
Bluetooth
Mobile Network (Calling, Data, etc.)
Audio
USB
GPS
Camera
Fingerprint Sensor
NFC
Etc. Check device support requirements for more.
What's not working:
Applicable exceptions granted in device support requirements.
Obviously Samsung's own features such as Samsung Pay, KNOX, Theme Center, Game Launcher, etc. won't be ported to LineageOS. We may have our own implementation to similar functions, though.
Iris sensor does not work because AOSP upstream does not support that yet.
IMS services (VoLTE, VoWiFi, etc). Samsung has their own proprietary implementation. It is not really possible to easily port that to LineageOS.
Instructions:
Make sure TWRP has been installed and functional
Download the latest build (and optionally gapps)
Download the compatible vendor image (https://androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=284041)
Reboot to recovery
Wipe data and cache (required if you switch from other ROMs)
Flash the vendor image
Flash the latest build (and gapps)
Reboot
LineageOS updater will handle updates automatically (OTA).
If you upgrade manually from older official releases to newer releases, you don't need to wipe your data or reflash gapps.

Reporting Bugs:
https://wiki.lineageos.org/bugreport-howto.html
DO NOT Report bugs if you're running a custom kernel or you installed Xposed
Grab a logcat right after the problem has occurred. (Please include at least a few pages of the log, not just the last few lines, unless you know what you're doing.)
If it is a random reboot, grab /proc/last_kmsg. (Do not bother getting a logcat unless you can get it just before the reboot. A logcat after a reboot is useless)
If the problem disappears after running "setenforce 0" from a root shell, grab /proc/avc_msg.
Remember to provide as much info as possible. The more info you provide, the more likely that the bug will be solved. Please also do not report known issues.
Please use LineageOS BUG tracker to report BUGs. BUGs reported in the thread could be ignored due to large number of posts.

spen is for touch wiz aka Sam experience
for the rest if the android world it's a mouse pointer.
Thank you @jesec for the effort.. This is exactly what I was looking for.
I tested this on N960F/D got stuck on bootsplash as well, I tried both Stock Vendor and the provided Vendor Images, with or without magisk with no luck.
I tried restoring boot image from previous backup (this might sound stupid) but I got past the splashcreen into Lineage Loading screen, it would stay for a minute then reboot to recovery.
For people who got stuck in the bootsplash
To exit the bootSplash freeze use the download mode button combination: Down+Bigsby+Power until screen goes off then recovery shorcut Up+Bigsby+Power,
Did anyone manage to make this work?

You maybe answer the sensitivity level but there is also the need to some kind of powering off the 500KHz signal send when not using the pen.
Then can we use the sensor to activate the pen ? What about the Bluetooth button ?
The wacom screen could be initialize from the begining with Project Trebble. What's the differences with LOS for S9s ?

[GSI][64bit][A600X] 64bit Vendor for arm64 GSI

64 bit vendor for A6
The day is here... the day we never thought was ever going to be possible. Exynos 7870 is now running 64 bits. This magic was made possible by @Astrako
I hope everybody appreciates the dedication and the countless hours he must've gone through to get this to work.
Please don't take anything from this vendor set-up. I used took Astrako's vendor in H-ROM and adapted it to A6 with his permission. Don't try to claim it as your own.
Please give thanks to the original thread that made this possible: Click here and give thanks!
Also, A HUGE HUGE HUGE DISCLAIMER:
I do not own an A6. This vendor was originally made for the J6, but since they are somewhat similar it only needed a few file swaps to get most things to work. I only have 2 testers and we managed to fix most stuff. Flash under your own risk and expect bugs!
Code:
Your warranty is now void.
* We are not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
* thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please
* do some research if you have any concerns about flashing this zip file
* before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if
* you point the finger at us for messing up your device, we will laugh at you. HARD!
Features!

FAQ
[Q] My phone is stuck in bootloop/infinite boot, what should I do?
[A] It is normal for first instalation to take aprox 10-20 minutes on first boot, let it sit for a little bit
[Q] Even after 20 minutes, my phone is still in a bootloop/infinite boot, what can I do?
[A] It is possible that your previoius Android setup is conflicting with this new setup. Please, do the following:
1. FORMAT DATA (not WIPE, FORMAT!)
2. Try the instalation of the GSI and make sure you follow the instructions correctly
[Q] I've found a bug, what should I do
[A] Due to the nature of GSI, I cannot fix bugs that may come from the ROM you are using

Sorry guys, this is A6 Exynos 7870 only.
Exynos 7870 is shared between a lot of devices and it's very easy to port between them. Not to mention that there are a lot of devs that work on 7870.

some ideas to solve?
with 32bit vendor I don't find the problem

Been testing it for 3 weeks now. So far so good. Running rooted on an encypted partition, smooth and no bugs to report. But I don't make extensive use of my phone, so your mileage may vary.
Hello,
After flashing your build I've encountered the same bug as the one initially on Yume's LOS 17.1 : date & time resetting after every reboot. Any chance to fix that ?

Hello,
Am I the only one who have a phone with high temperature when I use it ? Even with Whatsapp or photo apps. Not only with games.
This is really really hot !
Battery at 42°C when I use any app (Whatsapp, Chrome/ Edge, etc). That's super hot !!
Great job for this release, I have just a little bug with galery but I have flashed Open Gapps version ARM Pico because I just need Google Play (ok I use Youtube, Gmail and Maps).
However this release is better than Lineage OS 14.1 official. I have tested Adaway in stable release v4.k and v5 in beta with root magisk 20.4 but after that I have bug with camera or camera MX so for the moment I prefer use without root
Thx for this work, the Oneplus X is a good smartphone and small
