Can you please provide me the recovery.log file? I'll look into it and see what the issue is. I haven't had a problem with flashing zips. Also, post the zip your are trying to flash and I'll try it on mine and see if I can recreate the error.

Sorry, I did not think about that file. I used TWRP instead. However, I think I tried to flash the GSI kernel after flashing LOS 18.1 (by AndyYan) through fastboot (with the guide by @paziusss ) and going to the recovery. As far as I know, flashing anything would cause a crash.
I have attached the GSI kernel below I was trying to flash below.

I've been able to flash that exact zip on mine. I've got it flashed using this recovery. Hm. I'll try it again and see if it crashes or not. Thanks for the report though btw.

I'll let you know if I come to same error just a second.

Seems that android 11 doesn't like the lazyflasher type update script and crashes the recovery... At least I think that's the reason...

I've got it recompiled, tested and it doesnt crash when I try to flash the GSI kernel zip you posted or any other tested zip. Still working on /data FBE decryption but so far it works on Google AOSP GSI rom... (I think) -- uploading new .img file -- shouldn't take long.

I've started trying to port this rom, however the issue comes with the certain proprietary blobs that are needed... My tree is good for recoveries based on TWRP but its far from a complete device tree for a ROM... I've been sticking to GSI roms... but might try my hand at porting again...
//EDIT//
The crash is fixed however the fix is actually making sure you're not plugged into computer via USB... seems MTP causes it to respond with resource busy and it crashes every time until unplugged from computer -- or its random... either way I've successfully flashed the GSI Kernel zip with no crashes... just report what happens I suppose lol...
//Another EDIT//
Fixed the issue, I think... last and final recompile then I'll let it sit...

Group of noobs trying to run everything on your phone - Renegade Project

Thanks for all the work on this project. I have been struggling for the last few days trying to overcome the File Based Encryption and this is the first recovery software that has allowed me to do it.
The only problem that I have run into is backing up the Super partition to a SD card. I can back-up the Super partition to the internal storage, but not to a SD card. For a workaround I am backing up to internal storage and then moving the backup to the SD card.
When backing up to a SD card it gets 80% done backing up and then has a non-descriptive error.
Any suggestions?
Thanks

In the SkyHawk UI I can reboot into Android via the 'Reboot' button, but when using the command line (adb shell twrp reboot) I am unable to reboot into the Android OS. Here is the message I get back:
#twrp reboot
Reboot disabled. Returning back to main page.
Done processing script file
I'm trying to run an automated script which needs to boot into the O/S. I have also tried 'adb reboot' while in recovery and this just loops me back into recovery.
Any help with be appreciated - Thanks

i had this issue as well, i fixed it by just starting fresh. flashed stock rom using miflash then rooted it again, watch a video with exact steps. im on a custom rom now but im scared to root it because it bricked my device somehow
Why is there no more update for this recovery?
Unlocked bootloader and flashed recovery (followed the mentioned procedure). Rebooted into the system. Booted back to recovery, replaced by default MIUI recovery. Why? Using MIUI 12 stock

I think u need to flash a file lazy flasher.
Or change rom on first recovery boot.
MIUI overwrites recovery to stock.

Need to google bro should not be device specific.
Also you can flash recovery when you are ready to flash the rom. That would be better.

Download: https://github.com/Maitreya29/OrangeFox-OnePlus-5-T/releases
Installation procedure:
There are two methods to install OrangeFox
A) Via a recovery (for those with TWRP installed):
1. To install an OrangeFox zip, flash it with OrangeFox (or any TWRP-compatible custom recovery) without any wipes.
2. Do the same thing if you want to upgrade OrangeFox
3. When you flash an OrangeFox zip, there is no need to flash any DFE or any other such thing
4.To install an OrangeFox img file, boot into fastboot mode, and run the command: fastboot flash recovery OrangeFox-xyz.img
B) Via Fastboot (For those without a recovery):
You need a PC for this. If you do not have a PC, or access to a PC, then you are stuck!
1. Unlock your bootloader (if not already unlocked)
2. Install adb, fastboot and the relevant USB drivers onto your PCs)
3. Download the correct OrangeFox zip file to your phone, and to your PC
4. Extract recovery.img from the OrangeFox zip file, and copy recovery.img to your PC’s adb directory
5. Reboot your phone into fastboot/bootloader mode
6. Open up a command line window / terminal emulator on your PC
7. Change to the adb directory on your PC
8. Flash OrangeFox Recovery by using the fastboot flash recovery recovery.img command
9. Reboot into OrangeFox by pressing the power + volume down keys, until you see the OrangeFox splash screen
11. After OrangeFox has booted up, check that everything is working – eg, that it has mounted the data partition successfully, and that the touchscreen works.
12. Find and select the OrangeFox zip on your phone, tap on it, and swipe to install it (because OrangeFox Recovery needs some files from the zip)
After installation, the phone will automatically reboot into OrangeFox
Enjoy!

Hello, does password encryption work with Android 11? Do you know or I should try and let you know? Recovery seems very nice. First time I changed from TWRP and I think I'll stay. Good Job!!
Edit: I know it says "Password Protection" in the main post. What I meant is can it decrypt with password?

I wanted to mention that when fully customizing the recovery things can get really laggy making it difficult to use. I can't exactly tell the setting I had because I set everything to default for fluidity. However please work on the speed and smoothness!
Appreciate the work.

Did you try rebooting into the recovery after you customised? I should also point out the recovery doesn't utilise a phone's complete power. It's limited so there are always no animations and everything feels sudden, that's a limitation for twrp Ofox and everything else I've used.

Well yes, of course. Everything seems to work fine after a few minutes but still very laggy at start and that can be a bit annoying for things like pattern lock and such. I'm not runny any customizations as of now things work good.
Tried PIN and it doesn't decrypt. It's no problem, got used to it(lol) but I'm just letting you know.

I wanted to consult your team and members about a possible OrangeFox Recovery and a Rom A10 or A11 for a seperate device not OnePlus 5T. If you are interested, Pm me. Or message me on Telegram @MrConkel Payment is available for this project but is very limited. More details can be discussed after you pm or message me. Appreciate your time..
I like this recovery. It works with encryption in android 10. However, it did not work with encryption in android 11! Is it only me?
Hello!
Received an Oneplus 5T from China a few days ago, (still) running OxygenOS 9.0.9 A5010_43_191008. Gonna install some custom ROM as usual, so just unlocked its bootloader.
Saw this post about OrangeFox recovery, and considering what I've been reading in the [OFFICIAL][RECOVERY] [TWRP] TWRP for OnePlus 5T thread I feel like I'm going to put my faith in this recovery.
I have a question, though. According to what I read in the TWRP thread, the custom recovery gets killed by the stock ROMs. Is this serious?

Great to see another recovery coming to our beloved Poco.
Does backup and restore work 100% with this recovery? Would be great to know this before flashing a new ROM. Thanks.

I flashed it, and now nothing works. First time in my Android-History i got a screen "The System has been destroyed - Press Power Button to shotdown". I only able to get into fastboot, nothing more.
So tomorrow i will try to flash twrp via fastboot.

1. flashed using .zip file or .img?
2. surya (x3 nfc) or karna (x3, indian version)?
3. yeah, flashing twrp will solve issue
4. unfortunately, for the moment i don't have neither time neither a PC to fix bugs and create new releases, i'm sorry.
5. Working perfectly on Surya (X3 NFC), unfortunately karna has major problems but it still should be atleast booting so i really don't know

I solved the problem with flashing twrp from brigudav. Maybe next time
Working fine on my Surya device, thanks!
Halo, bagaimana cara backup imei??
Tolong bantu saya
I've seen that in between surya is officially supported by SHRP, but have a different maintainer there (rxuglr).
Anyway, I'm a little confused about all this.
Both well known Custom Recoveries (TWRP as well as OrangeFox, which is also based on TWRP, AFAIK) don't support surya, but SHRP does - are the problems of TWRP & OrangeFox solved in SHRP, especially supporting dynamic partitions (which AFAIK was a huge problem for a long time), and is a full system backup supported?
I read that best working Custom Recovery should be the one developed by @brigudav (currently v. 3.7.x?), but I really have no current overview.
As far as I remember, I also read that not every Recovery supports every Android version.
Does everyone have experiences about that?

Introduction
Team Win Recovery Project (TWRP) is an open-source software custom recovery image for Android-based devices. It provides a touchscreen-enabled interface that allows users to install third-party firmware and back up the current system, functions often unsupported by stock recovery images. It is, therefore, often installed when rooting Android devices, although it isn't dependent on a device being rooted to be installed.

Thanx a lot bro. was looking for it. working fine. is there any custom or modified samsung rom without bloat sothat we can use this recovery for that.
Glad it's working well for you. And to be honest, I've tried a few GSI roms and they work well, like crDroid GSI and CAOS GSI... I've been trying to cook up my own port of a few ROMs also to no avail yet but soon...

You have to use a patch called DynaPatch v1.5. It patches TWRP to be able to install individual images to the super dynamic partition... I don't know if I can post a link but if you Google DynaPatch v1.5 you'll be able to find it, just flash via TWRP and then reboot to Recovery and it will show system, vendor, product etc in the install

I'm having a problem with stock recovery overwriting TWRP. I have the latest stock, BUJ1, installed. I flash vbmeta and recovery with Odin and boot into TWRP. Format data and reboot recovery. Everything works fine. Reboot to system and go through the setup, make sure developer mode still enabled. Again, everything appears to work. Download the DynaPatch and copy it to the T500 SD card. Turn off the tablet and attempt to boot TWRP. It's gone. Back to stock recovery. What am I doing wrong????

Thats my bad, youll want to use the multidisabler to fix that.. I have added it to the twrp.. once twrp is installed go to Advanced > Terminal and then type multidisabler then press enter. This will disable the stock recovery restoration.
What if I don't have TWRP installed yet but the tablet is rooted with Magisk? Is it okay to flash TWRP from within a running system?

KOSP is a small project based off AOSP and we intend to improve upon AOSP to provide a stable and better alternative to OEM roms with additional features.
Features
There are some cool features, see for yourself
Truth is I'm just lazy to write a long list of features and we intend to focus on the stability rather than adding a ton of features.
Gapps is included!
What's broken?
- WiFi Display on devices using MiraCast
- You tell me!
Bug reporting:
-> DO NOT report bugs if you're running a custom kernel or you installed Xposed
-> Grab a logcat right after the problem has occurred. (Please include at least a few pages of the log, not just the last few lines, unless you know what you're doing.)
-> Do not approach us without any logs for reporting bugs
-> If it is a random reboot, grab everything from /sys/fs/pstore. (Do not bother getting a logcat unless you can get it just before the reboot. A logcat after a reboot is useless)
-> Remember to provide as much info as possible. The more info you provide, the more likely that the bug will be solved. Please also do not report known issues.

Thank you so much I've been waiting for this!
Sorry for being newbie, can you provide more detailed installation guide? I'm on OOS 11.0.4.1 and have my bootloader unlocked, but no root nor custom recovery.
Also if I removed my phone lock (pin and fingerprint) prior to the installation would I still need to format my personal data?
Thanks again!

Yes and for installation support join the linked telegram
Great work Harish. Also congratulations for first official. Good ROM, highly recommended. Definitely daily driver and better than A11.
Thanks for still continuing to develop for the OP7.
I was a little confused about how to install it, but I'll try to go to the telegram to understand it better.
Great work.
I have installed it yesterday and it is working great and pretty smooth than A11 roms. I am planning to use it as daily driver, not sure if all apps i use including banking apps are compatible with A12 yet. E.g. HSBC India app is broken on this rom. Please confirm if itbcan work. Thanks.
Also request to include face unlock feature under security tab if possible in the next build. Thanks.

Sorry for noob questions in advance.
I can see installation is done via fastboot only, but after installation we need to format data from recovery.
1. Which recovery to use to format data? I doubt rom comes with a recovery.
2. Format data to f2fs or ext4?
3. How's the situation with widevine L1? If you have it then can you post steps for that as well.
Right now I'm on stock rom with locked bootloader.

Once you install ROM from fastboot as mentioned in OP, after installation is complete your phone automatically restarts at that time you have to boot into recovery. The recovery this time will be ROM recovery in which you will have to format data before to reboot to system. Hope this helps.

Steps are pretty simple as mentioned in OP. Update your phone to latest OOS (A11) first before to go for this A12 ROM.
The rom is smooth and responsive, I will use it as daily driver.
Issues I face:
1- my voice sounds digitalized or something, using the phone built in mic.
2- The notification panel sometimes become 100% transparent.
3- Sometimes the whole screen flashes with max brightness during fingerprint unlocking. (Maybe started to happen after enabling single tap to wake)
4- In SIMs settings, only the 1st SIM is showing, and I can deactivate it, however, my 2nd SIM isn't showing there and there's no way to deactivate it (both SIMs are working all the time)
5- I think the vibration intensity while setting the alert slider to vibration is quite high (maybe I'm used to OOS).
6- Vibration intensity for notifications is also a little bit high even though I set it as "low" in settings.
The fingerprint unlocking vibration intensity is the perfect intensity for me (I think it's like the OOS one) I hope you can make the "low" option equal to that
I'll update my reply whenever I face new things.
All are minor issues, otherwise, amazing rom, thank you so much I really appreciate all the hard work you do.
P.S. If anyone wants to enable the "single tap to wake" it's under Settings - krypton settings - device settings - touchscreen gestures - single tap. I thought this could help someone.
Does cromecast work?
Does fingerprint work as good as on oxygen os?

For root i just instal magisk app through fastboot or in the twrp?
Thank you for your anwsers.
Edit: can not install via ADB. Instalation guide is not good for me. Should I unzip file with image or not. Do not have theese problems when instaling other roms. Any help would be apreciated.
