Question The slowest shutter speed is fixed 1/4 in the P mode of Photo Pro App - Sony Xperia Pro-I

I'm a newcomer of Sony Xperia Phone. when I use P mode of Photo Pro App on my Xperia Pro-I, I found the slowest shutter speed is fixed 1/4. if I take photo in dark environment and change ISO lower manually, the phone doesn't calculate shutter speed correctly but use fixed 1/4, this makes photo too dark. Is this behavior correct on Xperia Phone? Thanks.

use Manual mode

Look at this thread I pasted below here. The x10 camera takes some time to get used too. Experiment a bit.

Camera Quality of XS compared with Arc

Hi guys,
It seems that the picture quality of Xperia Arc is better than XS, I am not able to focus properly and pictures and not looking sharp !!!
I am using 9MP.
sent from seXperia S
Try Camera360 app in play store, I always used it on Arc, bought Xperia S a few days ago, mine takes good photos I use 12mp, haven't tried 9mp. Always try using as lower ISO as possible, higher ISO rates produce more noise, also avoid AUTO SCN setting, always use custom ones for better results. I use Mutli-Auto Focus setting since touch focus wont work right. If you find holding your hand still while taking picture try using stabilization. I liked Xperia S camera but I miss Burst mode of Cyber-Shot cameras. Hope I helped
I sm using following setting on XS:
Mode NORMAL
Scenes OFF
Flash OFF
Resolution 9MP
Focus Mode SINGLE AUTO FOCUS
ISO 100-200 depending on condn.
Capturing Mode ON SCREEN BUTTON
m good at photography but somehow I am not pleased with XS cam quality :banghead:
I assume you've checked that the lens is nice and clean.
Why are you using onscreen button though ? the dedicated button works just fine and you can half press it to get it to attempt a focus lock auto focus doesn't always get it right first time, particularly on single point rather than multi point

Everything is Ok..
from xperia PLAY (enjoying N.O.V.A.3)
Strange how some say the Arc is better than the S. I have an Xperia P and not an S but I'm quite pleased with its photographs.
I personally use the touch focus and shoot option. This way my phone doesnt move at that final moment when I'm about to click. Previously whenever I used the hardware button the phone shook a bit on the final click creating somewhat comparatively blurry images.

[Q] Manual control of the camera

Hello,
I'm currently using an iPhone 4S which has manual control. I'm considering buying a Z2 phone and i want to know if it's possible to manualy control some aspects of the camera, like shutter speed, ISO and white balance in K.
Thanks in advance
1. Manual camera controls
Exposure
White balance
HDR
ISO
Resolution
Flash
Metering mode
Focus mode
Image stabalizer
Facial recognition
This is just for photo
You will have to play with an Xperia Z2 to see its myriad of camera options

Manual camera - shutter speed?

Hi, is possible to set manually the shutter speed on the stock rom on Sony Xperia Z5 Compact? I couldn't find the setting, and Camera Zoom FX doesn't seem to allow me either.
I don't know if something happened or didn't look properly but now Camera Zoom Fx does allow me to adjust the shutter speed manually with a slider. Great app.

Camera manual mode isn't really

Has anyone noticed that you can set iso in manual mode and then modify shutter speed and boom iso is set to auto again? How can I have need control? Love the size and weight of this phone but camera is kind of weak compared to s7.
Yes, I would like to adjust ISO and shutter speed togheter and separately, but as far as I know this is not possible. I hope they can adjust it in future release.....
Manual Camera lets you adjust both of them independently, but you can only take pictures up to 8 mp. I'm really no too familiar with camera APIs and such (or photography for that matter) so I don't know if this has any implications, but I would say that picture quality is very similar otherwise. If you don't mind the resolution and price ($3) it's not too bad. Here's a comparison: Stock / Manual Camera
I would say the stock camera does a good job of setting the ISO on its own, but I understand the need for manual controls.
No it's not! Even in 3 mp if you set for example 50 iso and than set shutter speed to for example 1/50 and go back to setting...... voilĂ  iso is in auto mode again

Manual Camera the app, not manual mode in the stock camera
Play Store
I also tried Camera FV-5 because I used it on my Nexus 4, and though it does support manual control of ISO and shutter speed (still with the same 8mp cap,) focus breaks completely when the shutter speed is set low which makes in unusable.
