Unable to install a different region firmware in Samsung s20 (SCG-01) - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey I just my Samsung galaxy s20 (SCG-01) is locked to the au network in japan (Blacklisted too I bought it second hand ), and I tried many ways to unlock it but nothing helped, So now i'm trying to install a different region firmware same model same specs the only difference is the region. My model - SCG01, The firmware I'm trying to install - SM-G981U. But when I try to install the firmware through Odin, it shows a message as a failed in red. When I click start in odin it takes around 3 seconds and the failed message is shown. My problem is why can't I install a different region firmware even thought all of the other specs are exactly same in my device, Please help. I'm using the latest version of odin as well

Flashing Chinese Firmware Fail...

Dear all,
I am trying to flash my GT-i9300 from stock Hong Kong firmware to stock Chinese Firmware because Hong Kong version has traditional chinese input whereas I need simplified Chinese Input which may be available in Chinese version. When I bought the mobile in China, it already had Chinese firmware but I installed Cyanogenmod and other things but now I want to revert back. The problem is every firmware I tried works when I flash using Odin 3 except the CHU firmware. While flashing as soon as the process comes to Modem, Odin displays Fail and I have no option but to flash back to other firmware which installs without a problem. Any clues why the phone doesn't accept CHU firmware? I have tried all the four firmwares available on Sammobile website for CHU (China) but non of them installs (all fails at the Modem step). I also downloaded from other sites but the same problem. By the way, my mobile is not Chinese, it was made for the European market, I am not sure but I think it was Croatia or something, dont recognize the language on the packaging.
Another tiny problem: My mobile doesn't responds smoothly when it is plugged for charging, the touch seems not to work. I have to touch an icon two or three times to open it. Don't know why.
Thanks all.
Could it maybe have something to do with different network used in China? I mean doesn't the Chinese networks use different technology from Europe? That would maybe explain the European version not accepting Chinese modem?
Dear Juahan,
May be... I think I should give it a try but installing a few firmwares from around the world and let you know. However, when I bought this mobile, it was European model having a chinese firmware, I think they shop sellers in China had already installed a chinese firmware on it, so how come they could do it while I can't. Well to be honest I don't exactly remember the firmware which came installed but I know that it had Simplified Chinese, which is used not available in Hong Kong version. Anyhow, I have to get certain so I will try some new firmwares on it. May be you are right. Thanks any way.
Have you tried Kies initialization procedure? It should help you to determine your phone's factory firmware and even flash it if you wish.
Don't remember exactly location of this option in menu (don't have my laptop turned on now) but it was something about initialization and restoring in Kies menu. All you need is to enter your phone's serial number (located under battery or in setting menu) and model number (GT-i9300). Kies will check those data in Samsung database and ask what to do next, flash or not.
I don't know why but, sadly, it sometimes doesn't work with some models.
Problems with touchscreen while charging is due to unstable power source or faulty AC charger. Try charging with USB port in your computer and check if problem persists.

[Q] firmware update problem sg3 sgh-t999

I just bought a phone on ebay. unlocked samsung galaxy s3 sgh-t999. It's supposed to be brand new and was in the orig. box. But the build of the firmware is ZS and in kies it says
PDA:EMC
PHONE: LK3
CSC: EMC (CHN) <- CHN I presume is China
also my android is 4.1.1 and I would like it to be at least 4.1.2 preferably 4.3
but of course OTA doesn't work because of the country code. It says registering device then processing failed.
I've tried to flash using odin but I get aboot error with some roms and in some versions as well as sbl2 error with some roms and some versions.
and my phone in download mode says it's an I747 -- the at&t model. In gs3->settings->about device it says its a sgh-t999 which is what it should be.
Kies says the firmware is up to date. arg frustrating.
Everything about this phone works except for updating the firmware.
So I asked for a replacement...which I got today. Same stupid problem, not only that, but this one isn't recognizing my cut micro sim. So if it's between the 2 I would like the original one since it recognizes the sim.
I have read that I can change the country code, but I do not want to root the phone since I want it under warranty.
what should I do to update my phone?
Thank you for any and all help

Sm-g925f model wont accept any other stock firmware except sc-04g

I have been at this issue since Saturday and gone through a lot of possible solutions but to no avail. So first of all i am in Ghana. A friend came to me with his s6 edge that he had some issues with his phone going off when he unplugs the charger and getting stuck in a bootloop when turning it on unless he plugs a charger in before it boots up fully(even with full charge)
So first of all he wanted to do a factory reset(phone was not rooted). Factory reset completed successfully but issue still persisted.
Specs of the phone was:
android 5.0.2
model number = SM-G925F
original csc (i wasnt able to note that down because downloading stock firmware was going to be the last ultimate weapon. first i was going to try some custom roms to see if it fixed the issue. Besides it was working fine here in Ghana.)
So that's when i flashed a twrp and i dont exactly remember but i think i might have tried to flash a lineage OS or something. But long story short, when u try booting up, the samsung galaxy edge screen with powered by android came on and stayed there. and it did not go on to boot up.
After trying through the night i then decided to use the ultimate tool and flash a stock firmware. Try as i might none of them got past the "Repartition Operation Failed" portion of flashing it. The Pit File was becoming an issue. Tried firmwares for my country, countries nearer to us, contries in africa and finally even european firmwares. And since from reading from here and other forums that the F variant was an international version the international pit files should work but they werent.
All this while whenever i go to Odin Download mode on the phone, the product name there was SM-G925D. This started the confusion because at that point i had looked through alot of firmware and that was not an option. When i searched google for that, the search results mostly correlated it to SC-04G, which looking at it was a Japanese firmware. I didnt want to use a japanese Firmware for obvious reasons. At least i wanted a firmware that was by default in English. But after about 2 days and seeing a lot of answers saying stuff about going to settings and checking stuff there plus me wanting to see an interface and work my way from there i succumbed.
And lo and behold, it flashed on the first try(i used the 4-part files firmware. It was android 7.0). But when it came to booting up, the splash screen had changed from samsung bla bla bla powered by android to NTT DOCOMO powered by android. But it booted up and i skipped through the setup. i had to change the language to english but there were a lot of japanese bloatware that came with it. But as i expected when i popped a sim card into it, and restarted the phone, there was the not available symbol(circle with a bar across) where the network bars were supposed to be.
Seeing that this was not going to do, i went to the settings this time to check on any important details and this were the new details
android version 7.0(January, 2018)
model number=SC-04G
build number was now SC0.....(cant write the full code as im currently in odin mode)
But obviously it was the japanese network. After this i have downloaded more firmwares and they all fail at "Setting PIT...Re-Partition failed". Somtimes i try to mix the 4 files up using maybe the CSC portion of the Japanese firmware but BL, CP, and AP of firmware from my region. This time the error is "sboot.bin failed".
And that has been my grind till now. Downloading likely firmwares and all failing to doing extremes like the mix and match. When the mix and match with BL, CP, and CSC of Japanese with AP of my region works and eventually boots up, there is no touch input. The touch does not work. When that happens i just have to start all over with the SC-04G, which never fails to work.
I have even seen some things about changing csc files in the file explorer with root so i flashed the Japanese FW and rooted it. Went through the processes but to no avail.
PS:
The first part of the Odin screen where you choose to continue or reboot is now completely in Japanese whiles it was formerly in English.
And there is no indication on the phone itself that it was from Japan. The back says Samsung and below it says Galaxy s6 edge. Friend bought it from a shop in Ghana here brand new.(not from a carrier)
****So here lies my confusion. How come a phone with an original model number of SM-G925F have a Product name of SM-G925D in Odin and hence only Flash Japanese Firmware SC-04G(CSC code = DCM) but would not flash any of the international variants. Even if i can eventually get the Japanese firmware to read the sim card we can manage it that way. But thats for when there are no options left.
So please i would like to know your ideas as to how this is happening and any possible solutions that might be different from what my batallion of open tabs are telling me. You can also let me know if you want any more details i might not have included. Looking forward to hearing from you guys.
Update On Issue
I ended up using the japanese firmware in the end because it wasnt picking anything else.
This time after the setup process, it picked up the sim card and the imei is available. So since network is now available i just rooted it with cf autoroot and removed the japanese bloatware and everything looks normal now.
Except the original issue of going off randomly whn power cable is pulled out even when having full charge.
:good:

[HELP] my phone won't change firmware!

A few days ago I got my Samsung A21s (SM-A217M) and I wanted to test out different firmware regions (choose the one where I live) so I downloaded 3, one was from Brasil and the other 2 are from here (tripled checked the CSC) but when I try to flash the correct firmware from my region it passes but when the phone boots up it looks exactly the same from the brasilian firmware, same network providers, apps language, etc. I have even tried just flashing the CSC but nothing has worked at all. Is there something that im missing? Is there another method that will allow me to change to the correct firmware?

HELP WITH SAMSUNG GALAXY EDGE (SM-G925F)

Hello everyone,
I need help with resurrecting the above phone model. After updating it via Samsung Switch, it 'magically' stopped receiving network recognition but it could sense the SIM card's network operator. I tried dialing some numbers and it said "Not registered on the network". I ran to the internet through various forums. I have been re-flashing STOCK ROM and i was getting PASS; still no good came out. I tried custom ROMs, same thing. NOW suddenly i got an efs/ failed to mount. How can i resurrect my baby? All i have about the phone is:
AP: G925FXXU6EVG4 (Build number) - NDR90M
CP: G925FXXU6ERF5 (Baseband version)
CSC: G925FXXU6EVG4 (Country version) - 02U
IMEI SV - 02
SN - RF8G610C1MN
The stock ROMs i have downloaded so far are:
1. Samfw.com_SM-G925F_O2U_G925FXXU6EVG4_fac.zip (stock ROM based on the last successful booting ROM; after updating via Samsung Switch)
2. Samfw.com_SM-G925F_O2U_G925FXXU6ERG1.zip
I have these in place:
- Samsung S6 Series EFS Backup Restore Tool v1.0 By Jamesjerss.exe (which i used prior; to get an efs.img before my phone got messed up (a 20Mb file was created). Is that the backed up EFS?
- Odin Odin3_v3.14.4
- CF-Auto-Root-zerolte-zeroltexx-smg925f.zip
- twrp-3.3.1-0-zerolte.img.tar and twrp-3.3.1-0-zerolte.img (i wonder the difference although the internet says i use .tar with Odin)
- SR5-SuperSU-v2.82-SR5-20171001224502.zip
Now, the stock ROM stops on the RECOVERY MODE with efs/ failed to mount, and when i try the custom ROM, it stops on SAMSUNG Galaxy S6 Edge. In all recovery modes, good enough my PC detects my phone's internal storage. I need to get this device to work, people.
Someone help with with a step by step tutorial, please. I am a fast learner
PS Am not a tech student or anything, am just a person who reads stuff on the internet although i understand some basic stuff on tech

1. If you think about Smart Switch Mobile, it is not for update.
2. Go back to Stock firmware via odin.
2. Have you seen >this< tutorial?
how can i know the stock firmware of the phone....i only remember the one that was updated via Smart Switch (Hanset: Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge G925F single SIM card slot no SD card slot)
1. Check your CSC on the phone box or with the Phone INFO app ★SAM★ 3.8.5.
2. Select your CSC region in the "Version" box read the instructions and download the firmware.
3. Use Odin 3.13.1 to update this model.
@ze7zez. Just bought it from some phone shop that sells used phones. I have the needed STOCK firmware already. The CSC is 02U G925F---VG4. All am getting is this image below:
Since your system is not working, go to "View recovery logs" and look for CSC or "region name".
You can also try uploading firmware from your country's region.
The CSC is 02U (O2) which according to internet research it is UK

I already have all firmwares for this handset from 02U. I have tried EVERY STOCK ROM...but all am getting is E: Failed to mount '/efs' (Invalid argument).
I tried EFS-Fix-regalstreak.tar.md5 basing on https://ajketech.wordpress.com/2016/07/27/efs-missing-factory-mode-activated-here-is-the-solution/ i got FAIL.
I do have an efs.img i made before all of this whole saga but i don't know if it is broken or okay.
Try flashing TWRP from >this< manual. Read it carefully!
With TWRP you will have more options for repair.
