I have tried to research the subject. Have flashed a new rom with bootloader 1.04, made unit supercid, used heremes tweak to unhide, unlock. But I can't delete any of the files in extrom with the standard file explorer. What am I missing here?
okay,,, I did that once long ago, its shall we say, not recomended.
I did this a while ago so my mind is a little sketchy on exactly how I go t it done. I used Resco File Explorer but I had to unhide the 'Recycle' bin to actually delete the files as they were going in there.
I have deleted all the files in my Ext Rom and used the space to install TomTom etc. Not come across any problems yet.
I am a noob and I am trying to determine the layout of files and how things work. I have extracted the files from a verizon RUU and have a couple of questions. What is the .NB0 and .NB files? Is it possible to take the .img files and modify them or are they going to be signed by verizon and unchangeable? Where does the PRI exist in this?

I'm trying to unpack, edit and repack an apk file that I copied from my phone, but when I copy it to my desktop it is locked. I've tried changing the permissions before transferring and after transferring, but no luck either way.
Any ideas?

I need to find a way to edit factory firmware:
1. insert one or two app to be preinstalled, and placed on home screen
2. change default ringtone
I tryed android kitchen, repack system.img file (which is one of many parts files of firmware i have to edit, like boot.img etc) then i edited just one thing, e.g background or place one app. And then I get stuck, i cant find way to restore system.img. Kitchen makes update.zip file..which cant be installed becouse of signature.. So my main problem is how to edit system.img? (unpacked or packed)
Basicly every advice is how to repack, open *.img file, non is to repack.
I have PAP4500DUO and A538 Lenovo. And Windows envirement. I am a rookie too.. :/
I've been trying to get into APK modding, but I have no idea how to decrypt .dll files. I can't use root or PC (Macs are ****) and the only tutorial I could find following these conditions is more confusing then Ikea furniture instructions. Could someone please explain what I should do? Thanks!
You will be hard pressed to find anything to do what you want without a pc.
The only currant option is decompiling apks and the only works for small text. Changes.
