Question Cannot locate Battery Optimization page - Samsung Galaxy S22 Plus

Anyone know how can I get to this page in S22 plus?
I remember I installed an apps that leads me to this page, I did the settings at that time.
But now I cannot locate this page, I cannot find out how I can get in.
Anyone has ideas?
Thank you.

They changed it around I think. It's still in Device Care, Samsung wuvs hidden menus...
I recommend you don't enable it as it's known to cause erratic behavior.
Try a search in settings for it.

I tried searching by my eyes and using search field, still no luck.
I want to change that as it seems like the phone is still killing my apps.

Developer options>standby apps, all buckets should show as active otherwise power management is enabled, their state can not be altered if power management is disabled. However you can't disable global power management here.

You don't understand.
It's a test.
The ability or lack of ability to change the bucket state of the apps will indicate if power management is enabled.
Try changing one from active to rarely used, nothing will change if power management isn't enabled. You can't change it's state, and the options while not greyed out do not indicate being touched let alone change the app's bucket state.
In reality even with power management active resetting the bucket states does little. You can't crash Android by doing it... lol, I've tested that.
You'll be disappointed by the lack of any tangible results instead. However it's a quick, easy litmus test to see if global power management is enabled
Changing individual apps, battery "allow background usage" setting doesn't effect their bucket state. Enabling power management in Device Care does, and that will cause issues.
Like apps shutting down while using them such as bt with screen off while listening to music.

For One UI 4.0+, just go to Settings - Apps, select an app then select Battery. The 'Unrestrict' option is the same as 'Not Optimized'.

As you can see in the video below, the 'Unrestrict' option is the same as 'Not Optimized' in Battery Optimization setting. I think the error you are facing is because of the application is not well compatible with the new operating system.
Btw, I have figured out a method to open the hidden Battery Optimization setting:
1. Install Vanced Manager and Vanced MicroG.
2. Make sure Vanced MicroG's Battery Setting is set to Optimized.
3. Close Vanced MicroG and reopen until 'Keep MicroG in background' notification appears. Expand then click on this notification, the Battery Optimization Settings page will appear.

What you want is to launch com.android.settings.Settings$HighPowerApplicationsActivity class
Try to install Shortcut Maker (Rushikesh Developer) and search for intent "Ignore battery optimization settings"
It will do the trick

Working fine, great job!
Just some improvements is needed
1. The D-pad, too big and the app screen behind it react together when touch, so in a map app, when move the dpad the map turn together.
So should be able to avoid the mocked app to "react" while touching the road, and make the dpad able to collapse or minimize.
2. When choosing the map location in the module, if I search, for example, Central Park, it is not shown to me the map and I can't select the exactly location I want of it.
But great app anyway, thanks
Great app. Best part is you can select which app to spoof the location.
Making you can fake the location without affecting other apps like Google map

Yes I still research how to make the touch event not propagate to the target app screen. Not all apps react like this, need more time to fix it.
2. Next release will customize the location picker, maybe include new feature for saving favorite places.

Which system apps that you need to spoof?
Actually it may work, but.. I take an easy way to just block it, because there was a problem on passing preferences config through different apps.
Great app and by far my favorite. The only down side I've experienced is that the map (stops, pokemon, etc...) in Pokemon becomes unresponsive after a while when this is running. The rest of the menus, nearby monsters button, etc all work still but you can't click to move/rotate the map or engage monsters. This is on a rooted LGG2. Other than when that happens, the app is perfect. No "gps lost" errors or anything. Good job!
This is the best fake gps app that I used. Would you consider adding auto-walk function? So that we don't have to hold our fingers on the screen for a couple minutes to hatch eggs.

Thank you for using this application.
Auto walk is a good idea, let me think first and look for its possibility. :good:
From all fake GPS programs I tried, this seems to be the one that fakes better. I use the app gpsWifiPosDifference to see the differences between the apps. This is the only which works well with GPS precision and altitude. Most of the other GPS fixes the altitude to zero or to some weird values like 7!

Trying experimental version 1.5 the crashes stopped.
First, thank you for the great app! I really like it and had no issues since I started using it more than 6months ago...
Do you still develop or did you stop working on it?
Bug:
- Deleting Elements from the Favorite List sometimes messes up other elements in the list.
Feature Ideas:
- Maybe start the Map Selector already zoomed to the current location
- Maybe have "Save as Favorite" not checked by default
- Autowalk
- Joystick "Speed" Setting (limit max speed to customizable value: like 5km/h for walking or 22km/h for bicycle or 50km/h for car)
- Joystick Minimize (remember location of "dot" if moved e.g. to the corner)
-- EDIT: Actually, it works as long as I stay in the app. but e.g. Minimizing/ScreenOffOn reset it to show the controller in the center.
But as said these are ideas which might be nice to use but the app already works great as it is.
Thanks again, Regards

NO RCT Kernel is useful only when you have non-systemless root, f.e. SuperSU, SuperUser. Magisk is systemless so RCT won't even launch.
I don't want to hate this thread but this seems pretty much like my battery life on stock ROM... with no tweaks applied at all, really.
Now I'm on Fulmics ROM and it's even better than this. Also with no tweaks at all, just blank ROM with systemless root because I need it.
Besides I'd think a little bit more about Greenify's efectiveness right now. I gave it so many chances and every time it failed in providing better battery life, sometimes it even made it worse because it was constantly killing background processes so my phone had to wake everything up again. And yes, I tried everything, even Magisk module to enable more options. Still it's not the same Greenify like on earlier Android versions (on my old Xperia Z3 Compact it was awesome, but on G6 it sucks) so in my opinion, there is no sense in installing it unless it will be fully compatible with Android, I mean Xposed will fully work on Nougat.
Also I suggest just not killing any apps in Recent Apps. In my almost seven-year adventure with Android I was ALWAYS killing/closing every app I could. Now I just press home button and it's much better. I only kill an app when it behaves strangely or hangs up. Otherwise the phone uses more power to launch it again, rather than resume the process from cached processes which (mostly) does not consume any CPU power.
But that's just my opinion.
Wondering if anyone uses lspeed and if it would be worth it.

Issue with keeping Apps running in background - Mate10pro

Hi all,
I'm loving my mate10pro but i just can't seem to get utility apps to keep running in the background, even if I went into the battery app and gave permission for Auto-launch, Secondary Launch, and Run in background.
I also went into app settings and assigned ignore battery optimization.
- Nike Run's recording stops right when the screen turns off.. rendering it useless
- Proximity Action to turn on screen only works when the screen first turns off... If I waited maybe around 10mins and try to use it, it won't work
- Whoscall popup doesnt work... when I get a phone call I have to open the app manually for it to show me whos calling
- Fingerprint gesture also only works when I have the app opened, but stops working shortly after I exit the app (even if its still in recent app)
Is there any other settings I'm missing?
Thanks!
Having a similar experience with GPS reporting apps running in the background. Google Maps Timeline feature is also rendered useless with infrequent (if at all) and inaccurate GPS location reportings.
If anybody have any solution please post! we have done battery optimisation and always run in background for all apps.
Probably the same issue as the thread below.

If you're rooted, use titanium to freeze the system app "Power Genius" -- that's fixed almost all of my background running apps on my Mate 10 (normal, not pro). Not a noticeable decline in battery life either. One or two apps also seem to benefit from being made system apps.

Hello !
I don't know if it's power genius (freeze) or because i've move the application in system but i don't have any issue with the application anymore.
So it's work ! Try it!
I use those settings and it works perfect.
Try:
Settings -> Applications and Notifications -> Applications -> Settings (at the bottom) -> Special access -> Ignore optimization
The exact wording might be different, I'm not running in English.

[UMIDIGI F1] Android P customizations, dark theme, gesture navigation

The Umidigi F1 is supposed to come with stock Android P; however, it seems that some features have been removed or disabled.
I can't find how to enable the Android P Dark Theme.
I can't figure out how to enable full screen gesture navigation or how to swap the back and recents buttons in the navbar.
I'm sure there are other things as well.
Can I use adb to enable those settings?
Is there some other way to re-enable these basic Android P features?
Swapping the back and recents buttons are in the Smart Assistant option in Settings. There you can also find the Umidigi version of navigation gestures.
As for Dark Theme, I have no idea, myself. The option's for sure not there by default.
I'm hopeful that someone will develop some custom roms for it, myself. The stock rom is not as smooth as I know vanilla Android is, and you can't turn on the battery % on the notification bar. Screen size is not adjustable, either.

I've randomly experienced a kind of dark mode in the notifications and volume control but can't consistently replicate it. It seems to be triggered by a dark wall paper. I have a dark wall paper and have dark volume control, but pull down notifications/menu are still white.
Download a cool little app called Powershade from the store. You can style your notifications/menu to whatever you like. You'll need to enable Powershade in Duraspeed to prevent it being stopped.
The stock Pie pill gesture isn't there, only 'slippy' gestures which constantly kick you back the home screen when typing (aka Sloppy gestures). This could easily be fixed by reducing the active area to one pixel, it currently sits over the space bar.
That, along with:
- Not supporting launchers
- Issues with photos being completely messed up (masses of low resolution duplicates)
- Constantly backward facing GPS indicator
- Unable to send images via whatsapp
- Power and earphones plugged in creates unbearable interference
...have made this phone unusable for me. Updates are too slow to depend on them and have so far just caused even more issues. Its such a shame, it could have been a great value for money phone, but turned out to be too good to be true.
I'm returning mine to Amazon. For a few pounds more I can get something I'm not constantly battling with.
Took this from an Umidigi forum, it works
:As for quickstep issue, all you guys have to do is to remove the package and it'll work flawlessly, even with custom launchers(I'm using Nova).
This is only temporarily until you factory reset OR OTA update the device.
1) Download minimal adb fastboot package from here: https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=962187416754459552
2) Go to Settings > System > About Phone and tap on "build number" about 8 times. You should see a message saying: "You are a developer now"
3) Back to the previous menu and you should see now a new item called "Developer options", go there, find and enable "USB debugging".
4) Now connect the phone to the PC via USB and select "Transfer files" on the phone.
5) Open a command line and go to the directory you extracted the adb tools to.
6) Run the command "adb devices", your device should shown. If not, you need to check the drivers.
7) Run "adb shell"
8) Run "pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.android.launcher3". It should show "success".
9) Reboot the device and you will be able to multitask until either factory reset OR update.
I just got two of these yesterday. Getting mine setup this morning. I have no problem with the phone charging through USB and playing music out my headphones- the audio is perfectly clear. I also installed whatsapp and had no problems sending a photo to a friend, and she got it. I see my gps on google maps just fine and it seems to work as intended. I've not tried any other launchers, yet, but I REALLY like this phone for the price point. Sad there isn't more activity on here from folks who have them.

That would be pretty nice to have, but I think phones that support DT2W have to have hardware support for sensing the taps while off like most LG and HTC phones have. I'm using Glimpse notifications to get the screen wake for notifications like every phone should already have stock Yes, even though it's not AMOLED, it's got a 5150 mah battery FFS! 5 seconds of screen on a few times a day won't cost anything noticeable. And it hasn't either for 2 weeks I've been using it.
I too wonder if they'll ever get any kind of theming going though. That would sure be nice!
Umidigi f1 PLAY
Download SwiftKey keyboard. it allows u to move the keyboard up. basically fixing the sloppy slippery .

Question Apps being aggressively closed following June update!

Hi folks,
I'm wondering if anyone has a solution to this: Immediately following applying the June update, I noticed certain apps (crucially, Angry Birds2) were being closed in the background as soon as I switch to other apps. Previously, I could have AB2 open, go do other things on the phone, come back half an hour, and AB2 would still be open. Now, even brief switches to other apps results in it being closed.
Figuring it had been switched to a higher level of battery optimization, I checked the AB2 app and made sure it was still Unrestricted (it is).
Battery Saver is off.
Adaptive Battery is on, but it was before the update too.
What other settings do I need to monkey with to fix this?
Thanks in advance!
Developer options>standby apps, check bucket state of app. It should be active.
If that's the case disable all global power management. If disabled all buckets show as active and their state can't be altered.
Google global power management never worked right. Turn all that junk off.
Deal with power hogs on a case by case basis instead. In settings individual apps can be set to not run in background without invoking global power management.

For AB2 it shows "exempted" and is grayed out. What does that mean? Meanwhile I'm turning off Adaptive power. Anything else I need to turn off, while I'm at it?

Exempted? More like KIA Erratic behavior is typically what it causes on my Samsung's.
In power management the only thing I enable would be fast charging if you want that.
Not familiar with Pixel settings but they are similar as it's a Google Android based subsystem.

Sadly all similar settings are now turned off and the phone has been rebooted. AB2 still closes nearly instantly when I switch to another app. Sigh.

Try clearing app cache.
More drastically delete data or reinstall it.
It may be the app itself is no longer compatible now and needs an update.
On a Samsung my first choice would be to clear the system cache found on the boot menu. I've been told Pixel's don't have this option.
Personally I avoid all OTA updates as they can and do break things. Pie and above are fairly secure if you don't do stupid things.
