Any idea why do we need to use the provided vendor_boot image? Since i have used the rom just flashing the system partition.

Installed flawlessly in a jp versión, even the original base firmware was the jp not te eu provided and the ROM works fine, I notice some upgrade on bass from the speakers, It sounds awesome, I've nevea used Pixel roms so I dunno if Is normal to miss the autobrightness icon on settings panel, battery works pretty nice, alarms, sounds, vibrations, all works fine. Thanks to the dev.

Installed flawlessly also. But unfortunately, Wi-Fi did not work. After booting up, it hangs for quite long time searching for wi-fi networks until it quits and the wi-fi slider moves to the left. I chose to use carrier data to finish setting up my renoir phone, and then tried every trick possible to get wi-fi working, to no avail.
Then flashed DotOS... same story.
Had to go back to Xiaomi.EU rom.

Can't do. I'm on stock renoir_global_images_V13.0.4.0.SKIMIXM_20220412, Miui13. I might brick the phone because of ARB.

What is ARB?

And i have question also about Magisk is it possible to be rooted?

Maybe, just install TWRP and flash magisk
Steps and Link

I am on xiaomi.eu miui 13 version right now and I can't downgrade because my ARB is 1. Stock 12.5.7.0 EEA is ARB 0. Is there any fix to change that and downgrade without bricking my phone?
------------------
Nevermind. I just edit install script file.

I was on 13.0.4 global
Unlocked bootloader
Installed 12.5.7 full stock
After that all by instructions
All went smoothly no problems
So far works fine, thanks allot

Found a bug, after a while maybe like a 5-6 days, the phones does not ring or vibrate when ringing. After a restart is the same again, probably that vendor image is broken.

How is the SoT / battery? Better than miui or similar?

Personally, I installed it 1 week ago, and at first glance, everything worked flawlessly.
I was actually amazed of how good it worked! Until..
I realised the battery was.. TERRIBLE.
The battery don't lasts a lot, and for some reason, when i don't use my phone (sleep mode + airplane mode), It uses 20-30% for.. nothing.
I'm probably going to switch to LineageOS.

It indeed can be rooted, personally to root it i used a tool to get all the .imgs of the ROM, and patch it, then reflash.
If you are scared about that, TWRP should work just fine too.

After one day, i can say that there is some bugs, but they are not that big, sometimes its freezing and sometimes its restarting whole system in random moments, also this is not that smooth like AOSP or miui v7 for lg g2, camera is working well, but in my opinion it's slow, movies on snap doesent work (recording, u can record but after this u will see static image). But, other things are good, i'll use it and wait for updates. Hope OTA is working (Sorry for my bad english, if u didnt understand me, i will try to explain it better just pm me)

Me Too!
Yes, I tried it and the same thing happened to me, it must be a corrupt download because people are giving the release a 8.3/10. I found a slightly older but highly rated rogue pig version. ( see same link above)
I installed it successfully and must say, it's actually extremely good.
Corruption
The original newer file is probably just corrupted so I am going to try redownloading it. Until then, check out the other version that I placed in the same megadrive folder see the link above. Yes, it's a little older but its actually awesome!
I just attempted to find the newer rom by cold ruthless on the BBS website, has he been banned. I had a bookmark saved and when I click I get this message " Authors are banned or deleted automatically blocked" Not sure if its the same person or not, if this next download is corrupt. I would still recommend flyme_LEX720_rogue_6.8.3.17R-beta, I am testing it right now and like it alot.

It looks like what happened to me when going from an Oreo rom to Nougat, you have to format data not only wipe data. Format data, write "yes" and then install the rom. Always have a backup of your data before.
flyme is one of the best system , the official one is good but it's old , be sure to have eui firmware before flashing flyme .

Ok, this is what I have found. Your original latest flyme seems to be working ok. Here is what I have done. Using RAR apk, I unzipped it, and it complained about one apk in mizu-apk folder, and I ended up removing that folder completely, and zipped the ROM again. It flashed without any issue, but I can't seem to get Data to turn-on. It turns on briefly during the boot, but it goes away. I think if I compare the build.prop from older version with newer version, I may be able to find the fix.

Extremely good, at the moment my phone has no OS at all..
I only glanced at battery life briefly yesterday with Gsam battery tool. Plus, I installed BlackScreen 5.3 r2 which worked fine, I would rather wait for a real answer. Otherwise it would just be a guess.

Can you tell if modpunk's twrp decrypts sdcard fine and backup /data ? If not, can you try without any password.
I've uploaded a xz1/twrp with latest August/Pie patches just in case https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=11410963190603845086
Good you have cam on without hack, bad is still 4.4 kernel (4.9 is out); twrp re-compiled with Pie /vendor may do the trick.
Also what about Playstore/Setting/Certified , Widevine level , SafetyNet... (you can try app in my signature below to get all specs of your device ...)
(EDIT tried latest @phhusson v107 Pie (on Oreo 8.0 /Vendor) and still logo bootloop)

I also like the dry erase swipe unlock, it leaves a minor trail behind instead of showing the entire trace. Not sure if that's a PIE upgrade or not.

modpunk's latest sees scrambled folders, taking down swipe and device protection does not help either, it's all still encrypted(scrambled).

Guess what? There is no need for drmfix, no green images either. HDR is there too, though I doubt its potential.

Root works after flashing latest stable Magisk. Got Magisk.apk from the original thread here on xda @topjohnwu (https://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/magisk/official-magisk-v7-universal-systemless-t3473445) and downloaded a flashable.zip from within it, using @oF2pks latest pie-able recovery(https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=11410963190603845086) , I flashed it.
and then the final miscellaneous images before I restore to Oreo
Alright, now there's more information available from the last 3 posts.
Thanks to @oF2pks @topjohnwu @janjan @IgorEisberg @munjeni
Have a good one everyone!
I have it rooted with magisk too, installed the magisk selinux script that I had from 8.0 FIX/MOD THE Was.. I am not sure that is needed, but Apple music would not start.
As would some other apps.
The apple music I eventually fixes by going back to a version from apk mirror of begining this year... And block it from updating
Also had problems with firefox, had to go back to a version 61.0.2 from my titanium backup instead of the 63 version.
Maybe it has to do with the swift installer (theming), I am not sure, that one also works mostly.
N7 player was buggy from backup, New install did not find all my playlists, but restored again from backup and gebuild media library seems to have fixed it.
Gmail I had a problem with too, tried to remove it and get aan older version too, I am not sure of that did it
So there can be some app problems still
I had also error messages flashing the rom from flashtool, so it did not flash, but fixed it with copying and renaming the fsc file to 47.2.fsc made it work (and reinstalling flashtool but i think the fsc file was the solution)
The clock is on the left now, I hope someone finds a way to get it to the right again, or turn it off...

19MP 4:3 is still here in your screenshots. Does it working fine? or only 17MP?

On the original shots it was an upgrade without wiping data.
On the later shots, the thread reads that I did a full wipe without drm fix so stock install defaulted to 17MP.

I just noticed the 19MP. Sorry @arslancn

These roms are provided in case they're useful, no promises, no guarantees...
Only f5121 and f5321 builds were basic-tested (call, sms, data, wifi, camera, bt, fingerprint),
no battery drain, over-heating nor intempestive reboot seen after a few hours mostly idle.
GApps, GStore, GCam and Magisk reported to work when proceeding with care (see this post)
finally something new for suzu thanks i'll test it later

for now i can only say it boot with gapps and magisk flashed
edit: when it booting on there were only a few minor errors in adb logcat so i think it will be a quiet stable rom

Thanks appreciate it...if there no random reboot issues,it would be nice
Flashed it on my f5121 and it's best rom for suzu right now.
No bugs at all, baterry life and prformance is great.
No random reboots (at least no reboot happened to me).
GApps/GStore working. Magisk too. Im not able to test NFC, 5GHz wifi and cast so idk if it works.
Unfortunately I'm back to nougat PA rom because
drivedroid app not working on this rom (it not working on any rom even on stock only on PA lol)
but if you not using it, this rom probably will be your daily rom.
I'm will flash this ROM soon and i'm gonna write a post about it after a "week experience". I'm still gonna write any "strange behaviours" during usage, if necessary. I hope for the best

I've added details about install instructions ; note the crucial part of those is with fastboot, not adb.

I'm gonna be able to answer correctly to this question after some days of usage. BTW, since i flashed i only got an unexpected reboot after flashing Magisk (so it's not that unexpected) and i had to reboot once because i've got some problems with wifi but this is a bug that i found on other pie ROMs too. I'll let you know in the following days if this issue is too annoying

This aosp build is pretty fast...but one and only,I just got reboot issues while try to use recent app switcher (gesture)

Maybe with a clean flash all our little issues would vanish. Anyway, compared to a 2.9 Havoc GSI that i was using before flashing this AOSP i can say that (for now) this ROM looks smoother and more stable. I'm also trying to increase battery life by tweaking stuff with kernel adiutor

Could you get logcat/dmesg/ramoops logs from the crash ? And describe how to reproduce if possible ?

Question How do I install ArrowOS 13.1

Hi All,
I'm trying to install ArrowOS13.1 on my Mipad 5 Pro without sucess and wondered if anyone had been sucessful?
I tried some stesp I found here https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/arrowos-v13-1-mi-pad-5-pro-12-4-dagu-step-to-install.4579335/ but just up to the flashing the payload file as I don't think the vendor boot etc are required since I think those steps were to get the elish rom working on a dagu device.
From the start it didn't go well. I had the Lynnrin rom on originally. When I went to flash 13.1 it worked, but although I had the vanlla version the tablet had gapps on it, Doh, I need to wipe the data partition. So I did that with XiaomiToolv2 (i think it was a few days ago), but after that no booting at all. Damn, ok lets recover with XiaominToolv2, i've done that before sucessfully. That failed becuase because no matter what I could not get into fastbootd mode. But i eventually got the machine flashed by using the flash_all.bat file in the stock rom from XiaomiToolv2 by using an updated fastboot and shortening the file path to the rom. What I didn't realise at the time was thatit was now a different version of the rom (MIUI 14 now)
So great I've got stock back. Now I try to flash the payload filefor 13.1 which flashes, but won't boot. I tried swapping slots for booting but that didn't help.
Has getting it on MIUI 14 locked me out?
I don't want to flash back to MIUI 13 stock as I've heard XIAOMI has an anti rollback thing in place that bricks devices (but I think but not willing to bet, that this doesn't have anti rollback)
Thanks
Hey crass00,
If you're still wondering on how to install Arrow 13.1 on elish, I think you can just follow Lynnrin's past instructions on installing Arrow 12. Copy-pasted below (credit to Lynnrin, modified for clarity, link replaced with the new one you posted in another thread):
Spoiler: Install Custom ROM on Mi Pad 5 Pro (elish)
1. Unlock bootloader
2. Reboot to fastboot
3. Flash MIUI Recovery by this command fastboot flash boot miui_recovery.img
4. Reboot to recovery by this command fastboot reboot recovery, and format data on MIUI Recovery
5. Hold power button + volume down, when screen off, release power button, release all button when it get in bootloader.
6. Flash AOSP recovery by this command fastboot flash boot aosp_recovery.img
7. Reboot to recovery by this command fastboot reboot recovery
8. Enter to sideload mode by this command adb reboot sideload-auto-reboot
9. Sideload zip by this command adb sideload ***.zip (change ***.zip to the Arrow13.1 ROM zip file, in my case I used Arrow-v13.1-elish-OFFICIAL-20230426-GAPPS.zip)
10. Once that custom ROM installed on your Pad.
p.s. on number 9, when sideloading the ROM, the percentage progress seems to be stuck at 47% for a long time for me, don't panic and just leave it for a few minutes, it will magically finish the process and reboot the tab automatically.
I don't think there's any need to flash back to MIUI 13 as I've also made the mistake of flashing it to MIUI 14 first, and there doesn't seem to be any problems so far.

Super that worked. Many thanks.
I actually tried this way last night but failed at the step to delete data. I don't read chinese so couldn't delete data, figured I'd just wiped the device fully with a MIUI restore anyway so whats the need and moved on. That was a mistake With the confirmation it works i installed google translate on my phone to find my way though the menu.
I hope now once an update comes out the data delete step isn't required. That could get annoying if it is
Yeah, I'm wondering about that too actually.
My assumption is that the aosp_recovery.img is already installed as the recovery, so maybe we could just start from step 7?
I'm completely unsure though.
For other devices that I used usually there's a working TWRP recovery and I could just do flashing/updating through TWRP.
At least there doesn't seem to be any major bugs for this Arrow 13.1 build for elish (dagu in the other thread has camera problem).
What's wrong with the official instructions from the maintainer?

Didn't notice it
i can verify this device does not have anti-rollback
I once went from android 12 to android 11
and from android 13 to android 12
so it should be just fine
it's just that sometimes miflash showed an error after flashing
I succesfully flashed this on enuma after 2 attempts using Lynnrin's past instructions but with the newer build
first attempt was with miui 13 (Android 12) but it automatically stopped at 47% and rebooted so it didn't fully flash arrow
for my second attempt I first flashed miui 14 (android 13) and then did the same process again but this time it worked just fine
I guess the logic is that you have to be on the android version you want to flash
camera works (on dagu it doesn't for some reason)
and the xiaomi smart pen also works
edit: is it just me or does the wifi feel slower?

All process being run by AOSP recovery will stop at 47%. But you will be noticed by a line of message saying successfully or not.
In my case, I flashed MIUI Android 12 and using A13 GSI ROM. Everything works fine except the GSI ROMs do not support Xiaomi peripherals.
How do I install Magisk using this rom?
I tried following this but then devices wont boot up again
