lineage-19.1-20220919-UNOFFICIAL-shamu.zip
lineage-19.1-20220715-UNOFFICIAL-shamu.zip
MigrationBuild.zip
Installation note: For the July update I've switched from signing with public keys to private keys to improve security. If you're upgrading from the May or June update to the July update or newer then you should first install the migration build, reboot and let LineageOS boot up, and then install the new version.
What works:
- Almost everything, including VoLTE
Known issues:
Device tree and kernel sources can be found on my github: https://github.com/rootfan
Thanks to:
- LineageOS team
- Elektroschmock, npjohnson, and anyone else who has worked on shamu in the past
- followmsi for the work on flo / deb. It was very helpful.
- abhishekt295 and wavedashdoc for getting IMS to work on android 10
- rINanDO for the netd reverts
Standard disclaimer: You're responsible for what you do to your devices, so don't blame anyone else if something goes wrong.
Enjoy android 12 on the Nexus 6

Thanks for this major update. What G-apps do you recommend? if possible a link please.

I used MindTheGapps, haven't got any issues installing via TWRP.
So far haven't encountered any major issues except the UI being choppy and sometimes UI elements flicker. Will run it for a couple of days and see if it's worth it.

Bluetooth can't open

Which version of TWRP is needed to flash the rom? https://dl.twrp.me/shamu/ ?
I am currently running on lineage recovery 18.1 something. Can this be flashed on lineage recovery 18.1.** ??

Hi! Thank you for you hard work for our shamu!
Noice
1. Bluetooth works fine.
2. Flashed with orangefox and works fine.
Only bug is flashing graphics/vsync as far as I can tell and if you lower res to 720p it's actually very swift for a 8yo phone with its 7th android update.
As I don't use shamu as daily I cannot tell if ril stuff is functional.

Wow it's amazing for shamu, android 12 is so smooth, hope you will realease new built or official built, thank so much

Great to see my old N6 running A12.
At the moment the only thing I can't get to work is double-tap-to-wake, despite it being enabled in Settings and in the kernel via Franco Kernel Manager. Does it work for anyone or am I maybe just missing something?
(Edit: I think it may have been the "Lift to check phone" option. I've turned it off and now DT2W seems to work.)
Credit and thanks to @rootfan.

LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of android, which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock android for your device.
All the source code for LineageOS is available in the LineageOS Github repo. If you would like to contribute to LineageOS, please visit our Wiki for more details.
IMPORTANT NOTES:
1. If you use twrp it will ask if you want to install the twrp app. Make sure you tap "DO NOT INSTALL".
2. If you care about your stuff, make a backup in TWRP first, just in case. Transfer it to a pc, along with all your stuff in internal storage.
3. The newest vendor, radio, & bootloader img's are included in the rom zip, so no need to worry about flashing those manually.
4. Lineage comes with adb root that you can enable in developer options, but if you want root for apps, flash magisk in recovery (after renaming magisk.apk to magisk.zip). Just don't flash it during initial lineage install, as it's known to cause bootloop if you do.

marlin rom: https://download.lineageos.org/marlin
sailfish rom: https://download.lineageos.org/sailfish

An easy fix, for anyone with the gmail issue, you just have to go to settings->apps->gmail->permissions, and allow permissions to contacts and calendar.
EDIT: I'll try to figure out the issue of why gmail is not being granting permissions automatically, like it should.
But in the meantime, i'll just include gmail in my builds. That way it has that right permissions and just works like it should. If you don't want the app, you can just go to settings and disable it.
EDIT#2: New builds are available in first post. One notable feature that was added is, network traffic monitor in statusbar. :good:
Note: I don't have a sailfish so that build is untested, but it should work fine. Please someone give it a try and let us know if it's ok. Confirmed, it's working good on sailfish too.

ikr, it was read only on the stock rom, immediately went back to Los16 lol
so, it seems as if there are no real game-breaking issues out of the gate?? I'm looking forward to trying this later but was holding off for some more feedback, so far it seems to be pretty positive... one (stupid) question... After flashing this can you easily just flash back to a PIE rom if need be, or once you go Android 10 you can't go back?
yes you can

yep, i did it the other day. went from lineage 17 to 16, with just a data wipe. no issues.
So device personalization services app kept crashing so I uninstalled it
also trying to enable black theme in settings makes settings app crash
Also had the Gmail permission bug thanks for posting the fix ?
Also why was twrp overwritten by stock Google recovery ?
I didn't see a warning about that anywhere in op
Note I did a clean install wiped all partitions but internal storage in twrp 3.3.0.0 before flashing rom and then magisk zip

Introduction:
This is the Official Lineage OS 18.1 thread for the Nexus 6.

If you don't follow these instructions, or use 3rd party add-ons (like Magisk) please don't expect support here.
Known Bugs:
IMS (VoLTE/Wi-Fi Calling) doesn't work on LineageOS 16.0 and above - it's possible this feature may return in the future, though it unlikely, due to severely outdated proprietary blobs.

Nope! Builds are rolling right now!
Be prepared that:
1. Always backup your personal data&files
2. Upgrade from 17.1 may not succeed (that was the case here, booted to sim unlock screen and then rebooted etc)
3. LineageOS default e-Mail app is removed
Thanks for keeping Shamu alive
coming from 17.1 i installed 18.1 and am trying to update the google apps from the 18.1 download here: https://wiki.lineageos.org/gapps.html but im getting a signature verification failed msg. should i be getting that, proceed anyways? pretty sure i needed to update that google apps as i had the playstore on 17.1 and no idea what version of the google apps i used at that time

Seeing about the same as your 2.
I don't have a sim in it (not my main phone) but can't get in after inputting pin code... screen goes dark and then comes back to asking for pin code (as if lockscreen reboot).
No adb acces (since not pin unlocked) to grab a logcat.
Have a full twrp backup so did some tests :
* Tried deactivating pin in 17.1 before upgrading --> same issue (upon swipping up from lockscreen instead of entering pin)
* Tried fresh 18.1 install after data wipe --> works...
I am very pleased to see the next Android version coming to my N6. Thank you very, very much for your work!
But...

Than bothers me a bit. Having to re-setup every personal data and app is something I would rather avoid. Is there any chance that upgrading from 17.1 without loosing all data and apps will be possible in the near future? That would really be the icing.

Yes, absolutely so! But although I do make backups once a week, that won't spare the effort of installing and setting up all my apps, login credentials and personal data, if the upgrade does not keep those settings.
What about restoring just the data partition after a clean installation? Will that enable me to keep my apps and their data?

Read carefully the installation instructions - says which MindtheGapps file to use and it is the ARM build.
All clean re-installed and running good the only issue I'm seeing is on every reboot getting the error msg DM Config Update Keeps Stopping?
Also can someone tell me where the option to enable restart to recovery TWRP is at? I'm not seeing it in developer options anymore
Found it
System > Advanced > Gestures > Power Menu > Advanced restart
Installed after a full wipe, so far so good. Thanks for your hard work!
Another issue I'm seeing is photo edit keeps crashing when I try and crop or edit a photo
i tested the first built; its more smooth than lineage os 17; so amazing with 8 years old phone; thanks the author so much

crDroid Features
My Additions:
1. Wichaya8's GCam 8.1 - Thanks to @VortexHD for his GCam 8.1 Config
2. Swan Stable Kernel (Thanks to @AShiningRay)
Flashing Instructions:
Note: Your device must be rooted and have TWRP installed.
First time installation:
1. Wipe System, Data, Dalvik/ART Cache, and Cache (format data if your previous ROM was password protected)
2. Flash the ROM corresponding with your LG v20 variant
Note: If you chose to not use Gapps install the Gcam-Services-Provider app.
3. Reboot
Update installation:
1. Flash the ROM corresponding with your LG v20 variant
2. Wipe Davlik/ART Cache and Cache (optional)
Bugs/Issues
1. AOD causes the touchscreen to stop responding. You can workaround this by quickly clicking the power button twice. (fixed with 04-10-22)
2. Camera can crash from time to time requiring a reboot. Still crashes but a restart of the app fixes it. (04-10-2022)
3. No Wifi Calling, 5ghz hotspot or VoLTE (don't ask about it, it's unlikely to ever work as LG/Cell Carriers have locked down the VoLTE drivers)
4. Power Profiles currently don't work (removed; i don't think their necessary with Swan)
5. GAPPS "cannot communicate with google's servers" error. Microg has been added as a workaround. (04-15-2022) Gapps are now working. (06-23-2022)
6. Voice calls are not working

For Best results an xml config for GCam is Highly recommended
1. Download the config attached to this thread.
2. Open File Manager and create a folder called GCam then inside that folder make another folder called Configs8.
3. Open GCam and double tap on the black area next to the shutter button and press restore.
4. Your Config is now selected and will become the default settings in GCam whenever you open the app.
How to pass SafteyNet
Within Magisk select "Systemless Hosts" to add the module
Enable "Enfore DenyList"
Select "Configure DenyList"
Tap the three dots in the top right corner and enable "Show System"
Find and Select "microG Services Core" then toggle "com.google.android.gms" and "com.google.android.gms.unstable"
Open the "microG Settings" app and test SafteyNet
Most apps requiring SafteyNet should now be working.

There is no google in it. I downloaded another one, I logged in but it says no internet.
the software is nice. But there is no google in it. You can install it with zip like 'gapp'. However, contacts and similar data are not restored. There is some mistake. but when it's fixed, it's great software.

Disclaimer: This is an experimental build making use of a 4.4 kernel port. While everything has worked well in my testing, you use this at your own risk and are responsible for anything that goes wrong.
known Issues:
- Selinux is permissive
- Date and time reset to build date on boot
- USB PD charging is untested.
- It's likely that you'll need to reboot just once after installation to get VOLTE to work.
FAQ:
What gapps should I use?: I've been using MindTheGapps and it works just fine
Kernel Source: https://github.com/rootfan/marlin-4.4
Enjoy Android 13 on the Pixel XL
Great!!!
I don't have a Pixel XL but really excited to see this device not really died on Android 11!
Since even Xiaomi's msm8996 devices got Android 13 ROMs, the most developer friendly Pixels should really not just stop on Android 11
Nice, i will test it THX.
Wow...wow..this is just...wow... @npjohnson
Thanks a lot! Brother!
Looking forward to testing it. Thanks for the hard work.
Thank you and congratulations @rootfan for this! This is a tremendous feat! In my test the rom installed nicely with LineageOS recovery (for Android 11). The only thing that didn't work for me was the installation of GApps. I tried both MindTheGapps and NikGApps (the core flavor), and got errors both times (MindTheGapps complained about not being able to mount system and NikGApps reported there was no space available). The rom on its own, however, runs very smoothly and everything I tested seemed to work very nicely. If you could provide a brief installation instruction with the preferred recovery for the rom, that would be even smoother! Thank you again for keeping this old wheezing beast of a phone alive.
I've tested it for more than 10 hours now, it works fast and consumes a little less RAM than LineageOS 18.1. At the moment there are only two problems for me:
1. Battery gets hot and drains quickly even though I'm not gaming or anything (see my apps).
2. Every time I turn on WLAN, the device crashes after a few minutes (normal work is no longer possible).
I've uploaded a bug report, maybe someone can do something with it.
I'm now temporarily back on crDroid 7.30
Can you check without gapps? If wlan works perfectly? And is there any battery drain without gapps!

I haven't had any problem with gapps, as you can see I was able to install everything successfully. I only have problem with wifi. I'm also back on Android 11. But 13 was a lot of fun, I only uninstalled it again because of the hot battery and fast discharge with defective WLAN.

Yes, I installed it. Didn't put my SIM in it. Tested it with Wi-Fi. Works really well. Didn't face any issues/bugs. Felt it to be smoother than LOS 18.1.
