Nexus 7 (2013, Wi-Fi)
Code:
- Your warranty is now void.
- You have been warned.
- Use at your own risk.
Introduction:
This is very much NOT the official Lineage OS 18.1 thread for the Nexus 7 (2013, Wi-Fi). I am learning to build Android for various older devices and starting with the Nexus 7 as sources are openly available and it is a supported device by LineageOS so try out my build and let me know what you think.
Downloads:
Please make sure your device's firmware matches the required firmware listed. The download is on this post.
flox
If you don't follow these instructions or use 3rd party add-ons (like Magisk) please don't expect support here.
Known Bugs:
None.
Find any? Let me know here!
Notes:
I am learning how to compile Android for various tablets so here is my compilation of LineageOS 18.1 for the Nexus 7 (2013, Wi-Fi) Repartition Only (flox). I have not tested it so try at your own risk. I would have done but my tablet is currently in the shop getting its USB port repaired surprisingly it broke lmao.
I did nothing to the source just repo sync, breakfast then brunch.
Thanks for checking out my build this is my first successful compilation since the Samsung Galaxy SII.
The only supported GApps package at the moment is MindTheGapps.
This device _must_ be repartitioned before installation, the only supported repartition package is the one listed in the Wiki linked above - please make sure you followed it before attempting to install!
Kernel Source: https://github.com/LineageOS/android_kernel_google_msm

Someone must be brave enough to try it? Otherwise, I am getting my N7 back in a few hours from the shop to have it's USB port repaired.

ROM is now fully tested and works great. Only things that don't work are camera and screen rotation. Apart from that it works great.

My Nexus 2013 WiFi is still running LineageOS 18.1.
I am downloading the December update now.
It's running Magisk 25.1 also.

[ROM][4.4.4] - SlimKat - AK Kernel - F2FS- [OnePlus One]

HI Earthlings,
I liked the SlimKat weekly roms for the one plus, but just one problem. No f2fs. I also like playing with AK kernels so I combined the two and have this.
I am in no way a dev, just an amateur cut and paste merchant, but if its of use to anyone feel free to use.
It is based on:
- Slim-bacon-4.4.4.build.8.9-WEEKLY-7688 and
- AK.072_B11.GOLD.OPO.CM11, here.
Thanks and real credits go to:
- @Slimroms
- @ak
for working with bacon.
To install it I
- used the latest Philz recovery, formatted system, then cache, then "data and data/media to f2fs format.
- used abd sideload with the following zip, then AK kernel, GAPPS
- reboot.
download here and enjoy.

If you are already using the SlimKat rom, take a nandroid using a F2FS friendly version of TWRP beforehand. You can then restore your data to the new F2FS rom.
AK kernel are f2fs compatible so you can flash AK kernel updates when they become available.
If it messes your device, its your fault not mine.
edit: delete
Slimcat! haha, you made me giggle
Based on build 7.0? Weekly 8.9 is available. Is there a reason why you use the old build 7.0?

sorry, now for the latest weekly.
Thanks for this looking for forward for what may be coming next. I am glad that your doing this work I have failed many times using the guide to convert roms to f2fs and really enjoy testing it out.

[WIP][TWRP] porting for Galaxy Ace 4 Neo SM-G316ML

I'm attempting to port TWRP to the Samsung Galaxy Ace 4 Neo SM-G316ML (vivalto3mve3gltn) device. As of now I've got successful builds, but non-functional images (they brick the device).
The (experimental) device tree is hosted here, and is configured to build TWRP as its recovery (my plan is to also use it to build LOS 14.1, but after building TWRP).
I'm somewhat new to the Android devel. However, I've learned a lot, I'm familiarized with the AOSP/LOS source code, I use GNU/Linux as my main OS since some years ago and my skills are good enough to deal with this. The only problem is that, as this is my first time in porting a recovery to an unsupported device, I'd like some help. Anyone with knowledge and willing to help me in this project is welcome, just leave a comment so we can discuss how to manage this, like the access to the repository or pull requests, etc.
For the more-technical discussion about the porting, please do in this issue from the repository.

yes that I use, I wanted to install that new one to see if this was the beginning of the update of lineageOs 15.0 android 8, because it tries with the previous twrp and it does not happen of the blue screen, I hope soon it finds an update to install android 8 and this time if start Thank you!
Hello,
I have a new moto E4 plus XT1773 variant with android 7.1.1 security patch from august 2018 and i am a bit confused with all these post about you need a special TWRP for your variant. My question is, will twrp-3.2.3-1-nicklaus.img work for my device?
I understand, the first step i need to do is unlock the bootloader and then flash the twrp-3.2.3-1-nicklaus.img file right? i won't need the no-verity-opt-encrypt.zip or a patched boot image in order to a successful install?
I am trying to do all these things just to root it. Kinda difficult! i guess... I'd wish kingroot work!
Thanks in advance!
Regards.

(SOLVED)GT I9300 has 2 options brick doesn't: download & TWRP recovery, it won't boot
I started off by using heimdall with the ODIN downloader to download TWRP 3.3.1 then discovered the "failed to map file" bug, so I downloaded TWRP 3.1.0.
Next I erased everything with an advanced wipe

}
Then I tried to install Lineageos 16
but it failed with Error 7
Is it possible that I erased too much, and know the SG3 doesn't know what model it is?
Then I followed the instructions and removed the assert line from the updater-script, did an advanced wipe, and downloaded again
but the phone won't boot the installed OS, it just keeps going back to download
How do I get it to install and boot Lineageos or any other ROM that works?
TIA Banjo
This ROM
lineage-16.0-20190520-UNOFFICIAL-i9300.zip (theandroid02 (ArnauVF4))
is broken!
Some time ago, I tried it too, and it ended up the same way (stuck in "download mode")
I don't know any good Oreo and Pie ROMs for i9300, because all the ones I've tested (15 of them) were unstable, using these ROMs was just frustrating (for me).
But if you want something much more stable, try unofficial LOS 14.1
(lineage-14.1-20191223-UNOFFICIAL-i9300.zip)

open_gapps-arm-7.1-nano-20200307.zip worked. I found out the hard way it's not arm64.
