New screen. - Xiaomi Mi 9 Accessories

Wasn't sure where to put this, so putting it in this accessories thread. I foolishly dropped my Xiaomi Mi 9 Transparent Edition after surgery and still dizzy from anesthesia and trashed the screen. Can't turn the screen on at all now. Can anyone, please tell me some places I can order a new replacement one? All I can find are replacements for the T versions, which I was advised will not work.
Yes, I know the phone is a few years old now, but it's been such an awesome phone, I don't want it to end this way.
Thank you in advance.

I can see bunch of screens on AliExpress. Search for "Super AMOLED For XIAOMI MI 9 LCD".

[Q] Xiaomi Mi 3 Screen Replacement

Hey
I have a Xiaomi Mi 3 , I bought it from Flipkart around 6 months back, I recently broke its screen. The digitizer I think , LCD is working fine the botton 15% of the touch is not working and neither are touch buttons (Home, Back, Menu) . I went to the service center here in Gujarat they told me that it would cost me Rs 6800 (110$) and I would have to wait for 2 months which is not feasible . So I decided to take matters in my hands. I started searching online and found out that the screen is available on websites like Aliexpress.com Dragon-TT.com ebay.in etc priced anywhere between 28-90$ , that confused the hell out of me . Every link claimed it to be 100% original some even said 1000% original , anyways after searching around for a while I decided to purchase one from ebay.in for 2800rs (42$) , the entire assembly Digitizer+LCD+Frame so I guess it should be easy to replace as the process won't require any heat-gun or glue (which I am really scared of ).
Now I want help regarding following three concerns.
1. So now the concern is warranty , is their any way I could open the device replace the screen and still have my warranty , it is just a sticker after-all over a screw. Please guys if anyone of you can help me out I am really paranoid about this operation I need to perform but there is no way around it.
2. The product that I am ordering is from ebay.in for 2899(with tempered glass, google it I cant paste the link) . Anyone here who can shed any light on this , what do you suggest, is this cool? Original? New? I have talked to the seller it seems genuine (In Delhi sense )
3. Lastly and most importantly " Should I Do this " I mean I have read the theory , I have seen the videos but I ask to those you have embarked on this journey themselves ;Is it feasible ? and I welcome any words of wisdom from the veterans of this field.
So answer regarding
1. Warranty
2. Item
3. Advice/Experience

[Xiaomi Mi5] How my dream phone Mi5 became a nightmare for me!!

How my dream phone mi5 became a nightmare for me!!
Mi5 was my dream phone, I had created a post at miui forum...
But 10 days and mi5 became a nightmare for me!!
I had fell in love with speed and beauty of the phone, with hybrid case it look so cool. People were jealous of it. But happy time ended soon...
Don't go for looks, they deceive you...
And what do i need to say about build quality, aluminum gets dent on simple force. You have to use super hybrid case.
The mi Protect Scam
I called the Mi Assist for activation of mi protect, but it wasn't activated even after calling 5 times. When I went service center, they don't have any spares parts for the mi5 phone... Why the hell you sell mi protect when you don't even have the provisions. Funny thing was mi assist marketing department, called me to insure my other devices... I always said first activate for what I paid for... Mi protect is a scam, indeed.
Just a hype, no global stable ROM for Mi 5
Mi 5 is your flagship, how come Xiaomi team are so lethargic about global ROM. If you can't be loyal to global users then why you made fake claims and why Xiaomi released the phone for Rest of the world.
The Amount of defective Mi5 phones are too high....
My camera had defect, home button wasn't responsive to soft press, over heating,I waited with hopes for updates but i lost mind when physical defect were discovered in camera. Im freelancer which demands me to use front camera for live assistance. My assignments are international (European) so phone is the only way of getting connected anytime and anywhere. Clients started complaining about white dots on my videos and phone heated too much while live assistance. It made impossible for me to continue and which spoiled my ratings.
I immediately went mi service center, thank god engineer at service center confirmed the defect in phone. The engineer tested for water damage and physical damage. After confirming device problem, he issued fault in device memo. Which helped me to request for replacement. It was luckily 10th day, from the date of purchase... Finally, successfully request was submitted.
Bluedart guy came within an 24 hour and picked up the phone.
The replacement product was also defective!!!! Xiaomi dont have any polices for get a defective replacement!
BIGGEST MISTAKE OF MY LIFE.
I'm without a phone and also I sold my iPhone 5s for Mi5!! You can refer my post where I mentioned about selling iPhone 5s for Mi5. Thought iPhone wasn't great but going for Mi 5 was a mistake.
Spoke to customer care of mi India but they are hopeless and clueless.
They kept me on hold for asking trivial information, which wasn't related to my problem. Just for the sake of passing time. They keep on hold and after coming back from hold they speak as if they are talking for first time. Im fedup of the harrasment. I even said to deduct shipping cost and refund me the balance amount but they are so rigit.
The service which mi india provides is a pure harrasment.
I wish mi.com had refund policy and I move away from this hell. I'm disappointed and without further loss... im sure mi phones are having high chances of being defective as only lower variants are available which are unsold stock of china.
I can't afford this to be repeated.
But let's face it, Mi won't give refund. We all have to learn something from here. And beware of the mi policies and services.
There are too many problems in Mi5. Xiaomi need to fix what it can via software updates, ASAP. Also, this is a honest review for mi 5 which will help many buyers to know the real face of mi5 and mi. Only the engineer at service center was indeed helpful, I accept that. No doubts about other products, but people need to know the honest reviews not just fanboys flaunting just cause of getting forum credits at miui forum. Cause we build expectations from it and get disappointed.
The miui forum has hardly any use, just legal spammers for credits. When its time to help, they turn deaf ears. Very few helpful mods, which are hardworking....
Hope this helps users before making decision for Mi 5and also an eye opener for Xiaomi...
XDA is great, I missed you.
After a long time I'm posting on XDA. I use to own Samsung galaxy grand and s2...

Mate, can you please elobrate??
This doesn't sound very good. Hopefully your experience isn't encountered by others
unfortunately, this seems to be the real situation with so appreciated Mi 5 at the moment.
I was so eager to read each news and announcement about it, I was waiting for a really great phone with affordable price for so long, and in the end, it seems that all of us got just a big hype around quite troubled phone.
some of the issues with the phone could be theoretically solved in the future:
- shaky video recording could be improved by pairing EIS with existing OIS
- overall photo quality could be improved by using some 3rd party app and/or different camera driver
- not-so-widely adored MIUI could be replaced with some custom ROMs after kernel source is released
- one could try to be more cautious and not brake/bend the phone
- Xiaomi support could start acting as a useful service
- useless MIUI spam forum could be closed and people could get their unlock code without a need to post >500 "great"/"awesome"/"cool" replies on the newest Mi 5 screenshot
but, for some of those points Xiaomi has to change its own policy.
that's something, I'm afraid, we will not see in at least next 3 to 5 years...
had the phone from day no such issues.
not a single one u have pointed out.

I agree, mainly, in that point. What a sh*t* forum!
Same here
I´m very disappointed too.
There are a lot of small things that bother me:
Alarm doesn't work unless you interact with the phone (even hours later)
Delayed synchronization on almost all application, (notifications coming all at once after 10 min, WIFI or 3G)
Camera focus working really bad ( tried with different applications, all of them with bad results )
Contacts or Calls stopping working from the beginning
Spotify doesn't play next song unless you open the app
Even I have problems connecting to Xiaomi Band 1s
I had a Galaxy S3 and a Nexus 4 before and these things are very annoying. I have to use another mobile to wake up in the morning....
I can't wait to install cyanogenmod.
Anyway I'll never buy a Xiaomi again, I hate MIUI and after all this I prefer to pay more and have a good experience with a nexus.
Maybe this thread should be tweeted to Hugo Barra & Xiaomi. See if there is any response.

What a surprise !
I have another big problem with this phone. After I made a factory reset the phone got locked and needs to be activated. The device is associated with an existing Mi ID account that I never registered and is completely unknown to me, as is of course the password.
I've spent hours on their forum to get some answers on how to reassociate my phone to my own ID number. So far with no sucess.

It's okay to complain, but please do it reasonable.
Cut out all emotional crap from your topic and try again. But stick to facts and be reasonable.
Just as example, if you wonder what I am talking about.
->"The miui forum has hardly any use, just legal spammers for credits" ... 100% your opinion, nothing more, nothing less.
-> "There are too many problems in Mi5." ... 100% your opinion.
How could the same look better.
You could say: I was not able to find any useful information on en.miui.com, as most appeared to me as spam. I was not able to find what I was looking for [ state what you were looking for in here]
And instead of the very general and 100% stupid comment of too many problems.
You could have written a: I encoundered these problems [ list of problems ], a good amount of people have the same [ link to topics, stating similar problems.]
Why is this important:
I think, you made a bad experience and would like to warn people from making the same mistake, that's very kind of you!
But you achieve more if you stay to facts and leave out emotions and 100%-pure opinions.
That way you really help people, because they can make their own judgment based on facts you provided.
... what you wrote looks like a baby crying, to me at least.
@alfay0m3ga i have solution for 1st,2nd,4th, and maybe 3rd and 5th
For 1,2,4 just go in recent app and do the opposite of clearing an app, just drag down one and you will see an orange lock on left top of it
Then you will have alarms, spotify and syncronization
For the others try to unlock bootloader and change rom with xiaomi eu one

Brand New Note 5

Please read all, or fast/skim read all I've written. It's very important.*
* *Now, does anyone out there have a brand new AT&T Note 5? I'm very serious about the meaning of brand new. In box, never opened with all stickers on box uncut, or open box but nothing touched. For example, lid opened but phone never picked up, or picked up and everything beneath phone in the box is untouched. There's a few scenarios/variables that are acceptable.*
* * *I mean never activated or activated for less than 5 minutes. Then you and your husband, wife, gf, bf, broke up and you kept the phone out of spite, stuffed in the closet but never used. Hahahaha.*
Perhaps a forgotten Christmas present? Or you were forced to ground your kid for so long, they weren't allowed use of the phone, so you put it away, in the box or never opened. Because when they weren't grounded anymore the S7 edge came out. IDK hahah?*
Any situation where the end result was/is a brand new in box AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note 5. I'm up for negotiations.
I can tell the difference of real versus fake factory stickers, accessories, S Pen tips, ear buds etc....IMEI will be verified with Samsung and AT&T along with serial number to verify provenance. IMEI and serial number will be on the box. So you don't have to turn on the phone to find out. Transaction will only be accepted through PayPal. For this protects both parties and merchandise. Any other questions please ask.
* * *Also please don't try and sell me an international version, refurbished, faked, etc....There's a very good reason why I'm going about my search like this. Ebay and Amazon are full of fakes. Or their version of new is display phones. Not even close to New. If you waste my time or try and pull a fast one will only end badly for you. As PayPal backs all transactions, and they so it well, especially when it comes to misrepresentation of items. I don't mean to be threatening at all. Only forward. I'm a straight to the point, no BS person.
* * *So thank you for all your help. I hope the online community can help me with this.
* * *Please reach out, this is me begging. *I have huge hands. There's very few phones I can use, and that have large enough screens. Hence my propensity for finding a new Note 5. The edge phones don't work with my hands. I have very valid personal reasons for having such high demands. So please don't hold anything against me. I know I sound like a snob hahah. I'm not, just a guy who knows what he needs.*

* * Writing from my current Note 5. That's now been ruined by the Nougat Update. Everything is askew and working horribly. I wonder how when I find my new phone I can keep the most up to date Lollipop, however keeping security updates coming. Or how do I download Package Disabler Pro in the play store to stop the OTA updates without the phone updating to a newer version. I digress.
* *
PS, don't have to read, not necessary but still entertaining.*
This will be blasphemous in this forum, and might cost me my new phone hahah. But I'd buy a legacy IPhone as long as it has the headphone jack audio jack/earphone, earbud jack. As I'm so tired of this update failing. But it's the dark side. I've owned IPhones. It would only be a matter of time before one of their updates slowed the phone down. Or bricked it. I never had one brick, just slow down after update. But never such a systemic problematic meltdown I'm experiencing now. *
**I need this not for headphones but for the tape player adapter to play music through my Rover. Yes I said tape deck adapter, remember Those? I'm 31, so old my technology standards. But I'm not spending hundreds of dollars on a new head unit for my 2000 Land Rover Discovery II. *It's a long story why the old girl is my daily driver. Anyhow please help me, talk to your friends, repost this, I beg of you.*

I've skimmed through your post, And i have to inform you that Buying/Selling/Trading is prohibited within XDA in any forum or PM. The designated site for this such thing is www.swappa.com this is a XDA approved site and you should use it instead.
With that out of the way, The odds of getting a factory sealed Note 5 are pretty slim at this point in it's life cycle, And if you did find one, As per Samsung's request last year they forced all corresponding package disablers to exclude their update packages.
Whether or not the DEVS have restored them is unknown to me but this is the knowledge I know last about this. I'm sorry I could be of more help, hopefully you find what you seek. Good luck.
Well you did help some. I'm sorry for the faux pas. I had no idea about the buying selling, I don't recall reading that. As for package disablers you very well could've figured out a random mystery. My PDP app has crashed 16 times this week. As I went through adjusting settings and getting all the new crap off my phone from update. Not including the previous few weeks. I was in an Acute physical therapy rehab facility due to my back. For 6 weeks including May. Wasn't home until last week of June. The facilities Wi-Fi was hinky so I don't believe the update was pushed through until I moved in the last week of June. Then it was picking up and putting things down I shouldn't hahah leaving me no impetus to even look at my phone in pain.
Anyhow, what vexes me most is the keyboard. I downloaded Gboard. Looked at the app permissions it needed to run. Then ran screaming away to uninstall. It's most likely a mixture of a bad mix of legacy software coupled with newer OS wreaking havoc. I've never rooted a phone before.. However, it looks like I'm headed that way.
The unopened in box Note 5 is a pipe dream. I'm putting all my faith in a woman's scorn, or a buy one get one deal where someone thought the phone was too large and boxed it up. All you can do is try hahah. I looked on Swappa , Amazon, Ebay, the usual suspects. They have "new" phones. Their definition is the display model at your local corporate wireless store. Always plugged in, and played with by thousands of ppl. I'd be buying a phone in worse condition than I have hahah.
I wouldn't have updated. But AT&T or Android only allows you 3 denials before it auto loads the next time it's on Wi-Fi and sleeping. Lesson learned. Next phone, assuming package disablers still function or allowed. I'll switch off the update software. Once I get a version I'm accustomed to. I really hate the bland nature of Nougat.
Phones getting sent to TX to Samsung's approved fix it hub For a new battery. Maybe that will help. Afterwords I'll have the ability to use a theme with a lil more color that doesn't eat battery.
I've fixed battery issue to some degree, don't know what I did in PDP, and basically turned off all background data for apps as usual besides email accounts. I'm back up to 4-5 close to 6 hours SOT constant use. Before update it was constant 7. A year ago I could go all day on screen, 10 plus hours.
I'm being super lazy and all you pros in here probably deciphered real rumours from fake on the Note8. What's it looking like?
Also, I appreciate you not biting my head off when I broke forum rules. It's a surprise to some degree. Sadly it shouldn't be hahah. Thanks for everything

[News] 2 months wait period to unlock bootloader

https://www.xda-developers.com/xiaomi-2-month-wait-unlock-bootloader/
The situation is getting worst after we had hard time request for EDL, and now unlock BL with 2 months wait period.
I'm kind of disappointed with this rule.
What do you think?
Last Xiaomi for me, after the policy of not allowed to lock bootloader with global rom and now 1400 hrs of waiting. Next phone for me Oneplus for sure.
Also better quality control, this phone have vertical color banding.
Very bad decision from Xiaomi, you see on every forum hundreds of bricked phones from Xiaomi because of not communicating this with their customers.
A damn shame, a company that abuse their customers like that is just incredible!
Also almost no development, the forums are just filled with people who are asking for help for their bricked phones.
Just insane!

Just insane!

You're absolutely right. If I have to wait for 2 months id something goes wrong with my phone why don't save money for two months and buy a Samsung note 9?
What is Chinese mentality don't know. It is Android Open Source Platform!!! Huawei also doing sheet!!!
My first imported handset, my first Xiaomi. And I'm already totally disappointed!
Yo can reduce it a little bit if you first flash a beta ROM

I've imported quite a few huawei, this will be my last import from china with all this going on.
Not sure if this is the right place to ask, but does anyone have a guide to rooting the Mi 8? Don't need a custom ROM, just want root access (I assume this still enables OTA update from Xiaomi?) All the guides I can find are from random websites and months ago when the phone wasn't even available worldwide yet.
I TRIED IT TODAY TO RE-UNLOCK ( UNLOCK ONE BY SELLER ) 720hrs

Question Replacement parts

Hello,
I've recently dropped my MIX 4 and glass on the display is cracked. And since this phone is china-only, can someone tell me how can I get the replacement parts? Do you know something? It's a small crack but I want to replace the glass or even the display. Or if anyone here is living in China and can help me with this?
Thank you.
Edit #1:
Found this website, did anyone buy from them? Is it legit? https://www.deviceparts.com/c/xiaomi-mi-mix-4/
i had a google page and they did contact me before... haven't tried out though.
reviews seem fine, and at least they are active.
